WOW! I knew David & friends would sound good - but both Camper van Beethoven and Cracker were ON IT. The songs sounded 'right' - both bands were tight, perfectly knit together and really seemed to be having fun (and I think that's key to a good performance). Despite what he seemed to think, the slide on the guitar 3/4 of the way through PICTURES OF MATCHSTICK MEN sounded good - he seemed to turn to the drummer and indicate he was disappointed in the sound, and CARING so much just went to show how much they wanted to entertain the crowd - and they did, and it was all DAMN good!!! So, thanks guys!!! The El Rey looks great, btw. Good venue, great sound.

What an incredible show. Non stop music, movement, and interaction. Fans sang in the mic, members jumped and romped around while playing, and the set list was incredible. I had the joy of meeting Maddie from the Doped up Dollies and Dave fell off the stage on me (I have bruises all over my arms still)

Last night we were 7 rows back from the front of the stage for the BTO concert. I couldn't believe that these guys still have the same, strong voices from back in the day. They look like the old rockers that they are, but sounded like young guys. The encore featured "You Ain't Seen Nothin Yet" and of course, "Takin' Care of Business" which brought the house down. It was so fun, I'd see them again any time.

This show was life changing. This band is, and always will be one that truly touches me deep down like no other can even get close to matching up with. AHC is where its at. Period.

Kathleen Edwards was good. She was personal and intimate. She lost the audience at the end. It was a little tough at Webster Hall with the "80's" prom going on...You could hear the music that was playing from the other room. Disappointing.

If you're a fan of Bono and the boys, don't waste your time on this cover band. They are lacking in two big things: passion and personality. If you choose to cover the biggest band in the world and one of the most charismatic rock stars on the planet then you can't do it halfway. And, let's not forget that this gig was on St. Patrick's night; you'd have thought, for that reason alone, that The Joshua Tree would have put in a passionate performance. But they simply dialed it in and they got it wrong.

what a wonderful evening of music . first , there is no better house in nj than the 2 theaters at njpac . comfortable , fantastic acoustics , great staff , and good nearby safe parking . people , do not be scared to go to newark . and what better place to celebrate the divine one than her home town of newark . and who better than the great christian mcbride to organize this . his trio is amazing . his pianist christian sands is beyond great . so was his other pianist peter martin . and then there were the singers . sheila jordan opened . this woman with her betty page haircut is 88 years old , and is not going away quietly . i hope i have her energy and verve when i'm 88 . she killed . the second singer lisa fischer , was the reason i went . last time i saw her was with the stones , vamping with mick jagger . she came out , immediately kicked off her shoes , and took no prisoners . her voice literally brought me to tears . she also has an amazing stage presence , laughing , smiling , obviously having the time of her life . this woman radiates pure joy and love . what a beautiful person . then our third singer the multiple grammy winning dianne reeves came out . another beyond amazing performance . the trios accompiance was terrific , and mr. mcbride did not disappoint us , as the thing we all hoped for happened . for the encore we got all three women singing together , lisa, sheila and dianne . not something to be soon forgotten . what a privilege to be a part of . get off your butt and go see live music . it's magic .

I've been listening to diesel boy for over ten years, been to many shows. This show was embarrassing. The house of blues sound board guy didn't know what he was doing, the sound was distorted through his entire set. Diesel boy my friend, you need to go back to spinning wax, not CDs that quit playing and ruin your set. You should be ashamed.

Gary Lewis and the Playboys played first - Gary smiled, told great jokes and sang all his hits! Couldn't have been better. Then, Gary Puckett came on and sang his hits in his fantastic voice! Finally, Peter Noone - still as cute as he was in the '60's. He sang all his hits and even did a wonderful impression of Mick Jagger!
