Sam Roberts
Singer/songwriter Sam Roberts first came to the attention of music fans with the release of the EP The Inhuman Condition in 2002. The six-song album was a huge success in Roberts' native Canada, containing the hit tracks "Brother Down" and "Don't Walk Away Eileen." In 2003, Roberts released his full-length debut, We Were Born in a Flame, an extremely catchy rock album that brought the singer even wider recognition and praise, including a 2004 Juno Award for Album of the Year. Ticketmaster spoke with Roberts amid tour dates in support of his recently released third album, the classic rock-flavored Chemical City.

Ah Detroit. I Love this town. As soon as i walked into St Andrews it felt like someone punched me in the face- it was so hot. Luckily the beers were cheep and everyone was in the same hot mess but a good mood. The second time I've seen the Sam Roberts Band and they keep getting better. An interesting thing happened that not many people probably picked up on- the lighting designer stopped using the house lights (1k PAR - HOT) and primarily used the LED strips. Rock and Roll is not dead- The Sam Roberts Band is proof of that. Support your favorite artists by seeing them LIVE, they make more money that way.

SRB is so great live. That's all I really need to say. They've got a tight, upbeat sound that makes anyone want to dance. Had a fantastic time!

Canada's best kept secret. Us lucky Americans get to see them up close in such small venues compared to the shows they play in their homeland Canada. Sam always plays as if he's in front of a sold out arena filled with 20,000 people. I discovered these guys in 2006 opening for Ben Kweller. All it took was one song and they have been one of my all time favorite bands since. Truly a must see.

I saw the SRB for the 2nd time this year. Great songs, great energy, great musicians. They came back for a great encore and just play their hearts out. Impossible not to enjoy the show.

I had never heard of this band before I saw them open up for Grace Potter in August. I was so impressed I bought their Colider cd. I absolutely love this cd. I have not taken it out of my car since I got it. I met 2 of the band members while grace was playing and they said they would be back in November and I have been counting the days and telling everyone I know that likes music to check these guys out. I was not disapointed at all. They rocked the house. Very entertaining and the sound was awesome (except for the sax player (was struggling with hearing him even after he asked the sound guy to turn him up). I only wished that I had some of their earlier music before the show so I would have known most of the songs they played. I ended up buying the other 4 cd's of theirs that I didn't have, I liked Zues also and bought their cd's as well, I am a new fan of Zues and an ever bigger fan of SRB now that I saw them as a headliner. I am so looking forward to hearing the other cd's and anxiously await their return. SRB you have a new fan and advicate in Boston. Keep on rocking and entertaining your fans and I know you will explode on the scene sooner than later.

Sam Roberts gives a great performance that could be enjoyed by people that have never experienced his music. My girlfriend attended the show with me and had never heard them before. After the concert, she went to iTunes to purchase their latest album. Sam plays with a lot of passion and really appreciates the audience. He was giving high fives during the performance.

I have seen Sam Roberts twice now. The music is great, catchy, and and the band plays with a lot of energy. We loved the show they played at the Grog Shop in Cleveland in 2010 so much that we decided to drive to Toledo for the this show. They are touring on the new album Collider, which is fantastic. These guys are a solid rock band!

It had to be a 100 degrees in Saint Andrews before they even took the stage! But it just seemed to add to the excitement and energy of the night! I danced and sweated my ass off, but left there full of energy! I felt like an old school rock star walking out of there! Sam Roberts is a GREAT band to see live!

St. Andrews Hall felt like 120 degrees of humid swelter, but the Sam Roberts Band was able to keep the audience pumped up for the entire performance. It was one of the most amazing concerts I've attended. This was the first time I've seen this band live, and they are definitely worth the heat.

I would have loved to have seen Sam Roberts, but I had to leave because it was way too hot in there. The staff told me I could only go outside if I was smoking and if I did not smoke I would be asked to leave. In fear of passing out from the heat I decided to call it a night before Sam came on. I heard Sam was great, but I will be waiting for another venue to see him.

The band and staff at St. Andrews rocked. The show was great. The venue was a totally sweaty unventilated mid-summer pit. No fans and no a/c - it was well over 100 degrees F in there. All that into consideration, SRB was hot - played a good selection/set list and encored as required - we loved them! Nice work!

One of the best live acts out there! Glad I've seen them twice now in such a small venue before they blow up here in the U.S. like they did in Canada.

disappointed they only played 70 minutes...not typical sam roberts jam-out fashion to say the least. also it was pouring that night and bowery ballroom did not have coat check. Their excuse?"Its not coat check season". Bad move, bowery.

The Sam Roberts Band put on a fantastic show. The venue was really intimate, and the sound guy did a terrific job mixing everything. Roberts was very focused, and the show was stellar from start to finish. Couldn't recommend more highly.

Playing the majority of tunes from his new album, Sam played to an electric crowd who shouted out the lyrics of the familiar classics and rang in with new tunes just released! Two Encore performance!

I've been to many concerts and this was one of the best. The Sam Roberts Band played 2 encores. Getting to see such an incredible band in a small venue can't be beat.

I thought the show was excellent. I am a big Sam Roberts fan anyways, but the quality of the performance exceeded my lofty expectations. His sound live is extremely clean, and brings an additional burst of energy compared to his albums. I'm Canadian, and I don't understand how Sam Roberts isn't more popular in the US. In Canada he is essentially our Bruce Springsteen and would play to much larger crowds. I guess the good thing about the small show was I got to stand 10 feet away from the stage.
