Awesome! awesome! awesome! awesome! Frank put on a show that will be talked about for a long time. He meshed his new album with some old classics. It s amazing how well the crowd embraced his new album even though it s a departure from some of his hardcore body smashing classics. Being a late comer to the Frank Turner band wagon, and being a bit older than most in the crowd, the new album has totally sucked me up and has shown to me that Frank has planted his feet on solid rock and roll music. Seeing Frank live and even watching him crowd surf around the entire floor was electrifying but when he sent his good friend to the bar for shots by surfing, I have to admit, that was a first!! We are now traveling for his next show.

Frank Turner & the Sleeping Souls was absolutely incredible. The entire band (especially Frank) was full of energy, showmanship, and surprises. They played a long, raucous, joyous set. Everyone in this beautiful 3K cap venue was dancing and singing along, fully in the moment. Frank was captivating. Such an unforgettable night. If you get the chance to see them, don't walk - run!! I can't recommend these performers enough.

It's amazing to see this talent and the way he's grown since not too long ago when he came around opening for Flogging Molly and was virtually unknown, his hard work has paid off and he gained a legion of fans due to his great shows, music, and lyrics. The opening acts were nothing to write home about for me but to each their own.

This event was ok. I saw Frank Turner last October when he opened for Social Distortion and enjoyed that show much more. Maybe it was because that was my first time seeing him or maybe the Fillmore was a better venue for him.

Frank Turner is a musician that makes music that begs to be heard live and with everyone else singing along. The Magic Stick definitely pulled that off, and it would've been amazing if not for the one guy that decided to shout when Frank was talking, pour beer on people, and overall ruin things for a few songs until Mr. Turner told him off.

We were unfamiliar with the opening acts prior to coming, and Into It/Over It and Andrew Jackson Jihad were both very pleasant surprises. Frank Turner and the Soul Searchers were, of course fantastic..

Never heard of Into it. Over it. until day of show, and even though Evan was sick, I was still pleasantly surprised. Andrew Jackson Jihad played a wide variety of their music and took requests from the crowd. Extremely friendly guys! Best merch. Frank Turner sounded crisp and lived up to my high expectations. The venue was a cute little place, and the crowd was nice. Except some guy got shoved down a flight of stairs for trying to steal merch. Ultimately, he deserved it, but the security just sat there and watched the whole thing play out. I came from Ohio and it was completely worth the drive.

Frank Turner's lyrics are heartfelt and powerful, just like his live show. He engages with the crowd, has an enormous amount of energy, and plays his heart out. Not to mention, he sounds just like his records. He is a must see when in your town.

Walking into the amazing venue was just the beginning of the overall experience for the night. The atmosphere set the mood for the amazing performance Frank and the Sleeping Souls gave later on. They sounded flawless and were extremely energetic, getting the crowd involved in many of their songs. I've seen them three times now and would see them again in a heartbeat!

I had never been to a show at the El Rey and have always heard nice things about the velvet room with chandeliers and I must say it didn't disappoint. Anyways the opening act Into It, Over It was actually highly entertaining and it felt as though he was simply having an open conversation with us as an audience. The second band was the reason I came to LA for the night. Andrew Jackson Jihad, this band was amazing in every sense of the word. People laughed at their lyrics, people slowly danced to the stand up bass and their romanticism, and people even moshed to their very fast paced folk-punk. This band was truly something to witness and I could not reccommend them highly enough. Frank Turner then came out with his band and I was happy to hear they were very solid. Proved to be quite the fun band but AJJ simply stole the show. Id suggest catching this tour, I went on a Thursday night whenI had school early the next morning in Orange County. Bottom Line: IT WAS WORTH IT TO LOSE MY VOICE, GET BRUISE IN THE PIT AND SMILE THE WHOLE NIGHT LONG.

Frank Turner performs with incredible energy and talent. His band has been with him for quite a while and they all seem to love what they do and provide great energy as well. Frank does a great job of involving the crowd, telling stories and he encourages fans to sing along with his songs (which have great lyrics to sing along to). From a fitting opening in "Eulogy" to a great ending in "Photosynthesis" this was a high energy, incredibly fun show. I feel privileged to have seen Frank in a small venue because I think he will be playing bigger venues soon enough. He sang a great mix of old and new stuff. Favorite songs were "Dan's Song", "Ballad of Me and My Friends" "I still believe"

Seen Frank Turner and Sleeping Souls open for Social D before and was impressed. When we saw he was coming to Atlanta (3 hours away) we knew it was a must-go-to concert. Were not disappointed. Frank always gets the crowd involved and in Atlanta the crowd sang, clapped, danced, and jammed with Frank and guys through-out. Great prices on shirts and c.d.'s too. Stage was small at the Masquerade.

All three sets were amazing. Frank Turner finished up an already stellar show by performing in his usual, ultra-groovy way. He had everyone in the place singing along, even the hipsters that were there to see Andrew Jackson, in their flannel shirts, unnecessarily large-rimmed glasses, and drinking their PBRs. Great night, fun show, glad I didn't miss it!!

Awesome concert. Every act was great in their own way. The guy from Into It Over It was a great story teller and had an acoustic punk-rock style. Andrew Jackson Jihad was excellent, and I was very surprised when half of the audience knew all the words to their songs. The mixing on their album needs work, but live, they really got the crowd going. And of course, Frank Turner. Last time I saw him (and how I heard of him), he and his band opened for Flogging Molly and despite the fact that no one knew any of his songs, he was still able to reach the audience to an appreciable extent. This time, everyone knew him and his music, and it was amazing! I was on the side right up next to the stage, and the crowd at the front of the stage was just pulsating, jumping in perfect rhythm with each other and with the music. Great concert, see them if you get the chance.

This was a great example of a natural entertainer in a great venue - good pub-style music that's very conducive to pub-style singalongs even if you don't know the words. I'd never heard of the guy before a buddy of mine invited me to the show, and now I'm hooked.

The Bowery is a small, intimate place, perfect for the artists that performed. The first act was okay. The performer's jokes and stories were better than his actual music. He is, without a doubt, a very skilled guitarists, but, and the people I was with agree, he was doing too much without focusing on the potential of the song. His songs were very forgettable. The second act, Andrew Jackson Jihad, was very good. They were enthusiastic, interesting, and most importantly, entertaining. They're definitely not for everyone. I could understand why people would like them. On the other hand, I could understand why people wouldn't like them. Frank Turner was definitely the best part of the show (that's why we all went now, isn't it?). His set stood out most for one single reason. He's the only full band that performed. This is good planning on the event planner's part. But anyway, Turner performed nearly flawlessly. The drummer made a mistake once, but quickly recovered. They played all the songs I expected them to play, and they played them perfectly. Turner's banter with the crowd was also entertaining and effective in raising crowd participation. He is one of the most passionate performers I've ever seen. Only disappointment was that there was not one song from the first album, but that's expected.

Frank Turner had my older sister dancing in a sea of teens and hardcore "kids at heart" fans. He may have sold millions of albums, and charmed his way into the hearts of teeny-boppers with his English grin and his listen-up attitude; but seeing my sister dance is the ultimate accomplishment in my book. After a couple of drinks my fist pumping sister, thanked me for the night and never once asked me to leave early. My night was topped off with a causal meeting with Frank himself. Frazzled, I'm not sure I mentioned that I enjoyed his music. On my way home I didn't even mind the beer, and stick on my shoes. It was almost as if I was sixteen again, but this time the music was emotional, raw at times, and just plain good fun.

I liked Frank Turner, until the first time I saw Frank Turner\u2014his performance blew me away. He puts a ton of energy into his show. His shows are awesome and a ton of fun. The Aragon is alright. There is a big floor space. I dig the smaller venues a bit better. Thought the sound quality was only okay. I might be a bit of a rock snob, but prefer Thalia Hall, Lincoln Hall, or the Vic, but that s just me

I came to this event to see the Memphis based band, Lucero. While I thought the venue was awesome and the bands sounded great, I needed an outlet to express my disappointment with Lucero's set. I expect to hear new songs, but only playing unrecognizable and unavailable songs was a poor decision.

Frank Turner absolutely kills it every concert and his show at the Aragon was no exception. Great set list and great energy. The Homeless Gospel Choir was a great opener. My only complaint would be that 3 openers is simply too much. People who arrive an hour before doors to get a great spot are literally waiting almost 4 hours before the main artist plays.

I had not heard of Frank Turner prior to this show s announcement. I actually just wanted to see the Menzingers who were opening for him, so I pre-ordered Frank Turner s new album Be More Kind to get access to presale codes for the show. We had planned on leaving after the Menzingers played, but a friend recommended that we stay for Frank Turner. I m glad we did, Frank Turner was great! He was energetic, positive, and an overall great performer. I just wish we knew more songs before the show. I ll definitely go see him next time he comes through.

Menzingers - 8 out of 10 main problem the set was way to short. They should have been the band to come on before Frank. Lucero - 2 out of 10, played nothing but a new unreleased album that no one knew, completely lost the crowd and was an odd fit for the show. Frank Turner- 10 out of 10, full energy the entire show! In the crowd singing and surfing just an unbelievable performer.

This was one of those unusual shows where every act killed it. Opening Act Homeless Gospel Choir connected with the audience with his first song and kept them entertained for his entire set. Next the Menzingers got thing stirred up and had the audience moving with some good energetic punk. Lucero might have disappointed a few people by not playing any of their old stuff until the very last song, but their set of unreleased music from their upcoming album was solid country tinged rock! And then, Franks Turner. An hour and a half of high energy upbeat rock and roll. My wife and I drove out from St. Pete to see him, and if he was playing there tomorrow, we would drive out again! Very entertaining and engaging!

We saw Frank a couple of years ago in Ft Lauderdale, and that made us agree that we would go anywhere in Florida to see him again, well this time we said we would go to Georgia too when he comes back! The music was Great! Frank's stage presence and energy are amazing! His connection to the audience and his fans is intimate, and as always the way he sings the lyrics shows you that they come from the heart. This show had something for everyone. Full on protest from Derek Zanetti followed by high energy pop punk from The Menzingers. Lucero were up next who while being an excellent band made what seemed a strange decision to play their new album right through meaning almost nobody knew any of the songs. Frank Turner was amazing as ever. The band, the setlist, and Frank himself were full of energy, fun, and passion. He will forever be one of my favorite artists to see live. My only negative about the concert was that 3 opening bands felt like a lot. And it felt like Frank Turner's amount of time on stage was very much lessened because of the amount of opening bands. Not sure if this was a choice by the venue or Frank Turner himself. But it was only a small annoyance. Otherwise, wonderful show!

Frank Turner is my favorite artist and I was so happy to finally get to see him live. The venue was a nice size as it was still small enough to feel intimate but large enough to fit everyone (there were apparently over 2,000 people there). Security was also good; I was very close to the front and had a good view of the guards who were doing their job without stopping people from having fun (also a shout out to them for making sure each and every crowd surfer got down safely as there were quite a few). There were three openers, and I enjoyed all of them, which is rare for me when there's that many. Homeless Gospel Choir was definitely a standout; his interaction with the audience was hilarious and it was nice to see a performer from Pittsburgh. Some of the crowd near me was a little rowdy, which is normal for concerts like this but only concerned me because there was a boy in front of me who looked about 7 that I was scared might get crushed, but they seemed to mellow out after the second opener. Frank of course put on a wonderful show from beginning to end. He mixed new songs in with the older songs well, so we were hearing some of his older releases along with old favorites. Starting out with "1933" and "Get Better" back-to-back got the crowd's energy up right at the start. "Blackout," which is probably my favorite off the new album, was a standout for me. I loved what they did with the lighting during it by darkening the stage during the chorus. As for the encore, I loved that he mixed some softer acoustic numbers with his high-energy songs. Of course his performance of "Four Simple Words" was amazing. I knew that he crowd surfed at his shows a lot but underestimated just how fun it would be. Ending with "Polaroid Picture" was lovely. Overall, the whole show was a fantastic experience that I won't forget any time soon.

Frank Turner is one of the best live performers around. He pours his heart and soul into every gig. It is a little different seeing him an an area environment, especially since I've been following him since he was doing his own merchandise. But he still manages to command the involvement of the whole audience. It was one of those energizing live shows that leaves you still buzzing days later. Agganis staff were great; everything was well managed. The opening acts were high quality, though would have been more enjoyable in a intimate club setting. With Frank, it didn't matter, everyone was on there feet from the first song to the final encore.

Frank has cultivated an inclusive community and family feeling amongst his fans and points out at every show that we are here together to sing, dance, have a good effing time and to take care of one another. And that is exactly what happens. This night was added to in the sense that it was their first arena headline show outside of the U.K. It had an extra special vibe to it that made the night one that will never be forgotten by everyone who was lucky enough to take part.

Frank & the Sleeping Souls played for a solid 2 hours and still didn't get to all of his best material. A testament to his catalog. No artist has a greater connection with his fans. Must see.

Turner gets it: introduce new songs within the perfect mix of his favorites. He played an amazing set of both with passion and energy!

I will see Frank and The Sleeping Souls whenever I can. I've driven through LA/OC Friday night traffic to see them. I've flown to adjoining states to see them. Their energy is infectious and unbeatable. Seeing them at The Wiltern was great.

Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls played hard Sunday night. They were tired from their stay and play in Boston but it really didn't show. As usual, they gave it their all and the crowd ate it up.Frank did a stage dive and crowd surfed for a bit. The best part of small venue shows!

saw reviews from prior shows and you tube clips, and this was everything I ever imagined. Incredible energy, the crowd was into it on a cold/rainy Thanksgiving Eve, and the sound was spot on. First time at a Frank Turner show so the setlist was perfect. I don't understand why he's not huge in the States but it allows him to still play smaller venues and Terminal 5 (just two levels open) was excellent. (Wish I had seen him at the Ottobar back home in Baltimore in years past, or even at SoundGarden this past spring) He hasn't been playing guitar since a recent injury but that didn't seem to slow him down otherwise, and he didn't seem lost without a guitar as a prop.

This show was stellar, Frank always puts on a great show. Even injured, he still delivered a quality performance and you can tell he really, truly cares about his fans. What a talented artist. That being said, I cannot imagine how the opening "band" (I use that term very loosely) Koo Koo Kangaroo got booked with such an intrepid performer as Frank Turner. Koo Koo Kangaroo was awful, with songs about unicorns and rainbows. It was downright painful to experience. The last time I saw Frank perform, he had Beans on Toast, and The Architects open for him. Koo Koo Kangaroo was such a departure from the style of the rest of this show, that it made me weep for humanity.

After Koo Koo Kangaroo, who was really entertaining, but hardly "music" - basically KidBop for willing young adults - there was a forgettable backup punk band with a really loud, bad mix and a lot of power chords. If there was emotion behind the noise, I'll never know because the vocals/vocal mix was unintelligible. Wasn't worth the ear damage. Frank says they are his current favorite band. Must sound different in the green room monitors. BUT THEN...I love Frank Turner AND the Sleeping Souls! I only knew a half-dozen of his songs prior to the show. I've become obsessed since as has my 17 year-old daughter (believe it or not, I'm 54 - that's how wide a net FTSS casts). We've become junkies for all the Frank we can get on YouTube (NPR, German TV, Frank's lesson on Recovery - there's a LOT out there, Killers and Dylan covers, etc). I've now listened to every album and am more than prepared to sing every song along with the crowd at my next FTSS concert. I've already learned to play an FT song each day since the show. I don't quite know how to pigeon-hole his music (and I know he loves that). Dylan-esqe lyrics, Springsteen "screw it all - party!" attitude, Ryan Adams depth, Petty rockin' sound. Damn! By the way, Frank hurt his back and had a new guy play acoustic because the doctor told FT to lay off playing the guitar standing up for a while. The newbie did a GREAT job and I'm betting Frank keeps him and finds new ways to use him. It allowed Frank to be REALLY ENERGETIC vocally and on-stage. In fact, the whole band had a touch of Green Day and Chili Peppers in their music and energy on stage. The bass player must be leftover from FT's punk days - he was intense. BUT - did Frank's back keep him from jumping onto the barrier and body-surfing his way back to the stage?!?! No, of course not - and the security guy basically threw FT back on the stage. I saw a grimace, but he kept singing. I heard later that FT had to have physio-therapy backstage after the show. So much for the doctor's orders. GO SEE FTSS! Just go knowing that Koo Koo will make you laugh - and they may make you suffer through locking silly songs in your mind for days - but that they are really more comedy show than music. And for goodness sake, get a drink and take a pee during the next band's set. Or at least bring your noise-cancelling headsets. Then, save all your energy for FTSS and be sure to know your lyrics or feel left out if you are up front - these people aren't fans, they are fanatics and now I know why - and I'm one of them!!! PS - Please be sure to sign the tour flag that fans bring to every show - and to sign the guest book that will get passed around.

Another absolutely amazing concert. I have seen two of my favorite artists play this year, and Frank Turner did not disappoint. The guy is playing injured (bad back) and still brought the house down, easily. Cannot recommend seeing him play live enough. He also brought two great opening acts which were very enjoyable.

Concerts are good when the music is good. Concerts are GREAT when the musicians are into it. And let me tell you, every single person on stage that night was INTO IT. It was a joy to watch everyone rocking out. The crowd was good. Jenny Owen Youngs was great. Larry and His Flask blew my fricking mind. And Frank Turner is, well, amazing -- one of my favorite artists, hands down, so I'm glad he didn't eff up my perception of him by giving a crappy performance. It was really, really, really fricking great.

Where do I start?? Opening acts were really good. When Frank and The Sleeping Souls took the stage it was really a mind-altering experience. I have not seen a band with this much energy in a VERY long time. The venue was small which was AWESOME but the boys didn't have much room on the stage for all their energy. Frank's vocals were spot-on and the rest of the boys were awesome as well. If you are on the fence about seeing these guys live, get your arse off the fence and get to a show while they are still in small, intimate places like The Masquerade.

Frank Turner is an amazing performer, every single time I see him. Besides that, he chooses extremely talented openers and I have more often than not become a fan of his opening act as well. This time did not disappoint at all. Kevin Devine and Dave Hause were amazing performers. These musicians were particularly impressive since they were without accompanying bands- you really see how a musician holds up when it is just them with their guitar. Thank you to these amazing artists, it was a gift to see them at this intimate venue.

If anyone had told me that Frank Turner was going to do an all acoustic show, I would have been a little skeptical that he would be able to bring his typical energy to the songs. Boy was I wrong! That show was amazing! He sang for over 100 minutes. The songs at the end were as motivating as the songs at the beginning. If Frank Turner plays anywhere within 300 miles of my home I will be at that show. I am amongst those devoted fans who will never miss one of his performance.

Frank pours his heart and soul into every show. This night was particularly hot, augmented by hometown openers The Menzingers. I heartily recommend that everyone go see Frank and the Sleeping Souls. My only caution is to watch out for crowd surfers! Added bonus for this show: Frank came out to the lobby to DJ for an hour afterward, with a really good mix of tunes. The diehards stayed and danced the night away, then afterwards he hung around to talk, sign, take pictures, and give hugs. As for the venue, it is growing on me. Pros: interior waiting space, easily accessible restrooms, bar/food stations located on either side of the room. Cons: entry procedure has been different every single time I've been there. Also, if you're carrying a purse it is thoroughly searched, to the point of ridiculousness, so I recommend using your pockets and traveling light.

Amazing show, great venue. I take back everything bad I said about the Fillmore from when it first opened. They must have fixed the sound. Frank Turner sounded fantastic and it was a fun event. Go see him when he comes to a town near you!

I got to the venue late as I had to attend a graduation, but in time for Frank Turner's performance. It always takes a little while to get a drink there - the bar is busy and the bartenders do a good job of avoiding eye contact until they think it's your turn to order. The show itself was great - Frank Turner is an energetic, talented performer, and he sang a good variety of his songs. I would go to any venue to see him, but Stage AE was fine - good acoustics and they handle the crowd well. I can't say that I like their new purse policy. My tiny purse was 6" x 4" and the sullen guard was going to make me leave it behind, but thankfully was overruled. It only fit a cell phone and credit card as it was. I don't understand this policy that seems to be taking venues by storm. But, aside from that unpleasantness upon entering, the night was great. Decent venue and excellent show!
