Only 4 stars overall because this isn't my favorite venue. Has nothing to do with the performances. It's a bit outdated and needs a refurbishment. Seats location was fantastic but the seats were VERY WORN. Do yourself a favor. First research on You Tube, then book your tixs. In my opinion, she is the best singer in the world. No one ever attempts her stuff on all these singing shows, The Voice, American Idol, etc. Wanna know why, because they would make a fool of themselves. She has no competition. She never duplicates herself in concert. Her performances are always fresh and new. Rachelle Ferrell is not to be missed!!

The event was awesome. I enjoyed all of the performers and Rochelle Forelle showed everyone she's still got the pipes! I definately got my money's worth of entertainment. I will be back next year!

I simply loved the show. The youth group was wonderful and the fifth grader was outstanding on sax. Rachelle Ferrell was absolutely outstanding. I just loved, loved, loved her performance.

Enjoyed the music, and the Texas Brass band was outstanding; but, for being local musicians, I felt the price of tickets were more than they should have been. Due to sound problems with the lead musician's xylophone (last group), we ended up leaving after waiting quite a while - even when they thought they had it under control.. It just didn't seem like we were going to be able to hear his music. Also, the foyer is very third-rate - cheap tables as if at a flea market or fundraising bazaar...first impressions do matter. Most people that were there for the concert were dressed nicely, and were classy. The foyer does not seem to cater to those who are attending. I will really have to want to hear the next group if I'm going to come to Bayou Music Center again. I did like the choices among the seating arrangments within the venue.

Would have preferred better selection for the Jazz Bands. Re-Birth and Texas Brazz did not perform as Jazz Musicians. R & B/Pop Mild Hip hop. Totally different that Ken Mondshine, Kyle turner, Dean James, Bobby Lyle, etc... The event was not well organized before during and between each shows. Not well planned, The set u/ Audion-Stage crew should have also been better organized.... It is hard to support the nearly Dying Bread of Jazz- when you present this type/quality of musician. "Respectively- all the group perform well. However this was the Main Event for the Jazz festival. I;m Sadded, but hopeful that you get the next event right......

i really enjoyed the festival with one exception...the night with Roy Ayers and the fact he went on so late. i think the battle of the brass bands could have be eliminating from the program. most poeple I think enjoyed the bands, but we should have left it there and went to Roy. not to mention the trouble with his instrument. I actually left early. Hiroshima was fantastic. My wife and I enjoyed every minute of it. The kids were also a joy to listen too. The future of jazz is definitely intact in Houston.
