Dude, what can i say that hasn't been said before! This concert was the best one ive attended this year. Its up with there with my top five concerts of my life. Maybe it was cause who i was with, the things im going though at this of my life. But this concert was an emotional release. Placebo played so many of their great songs. Special K is always a classic. When they did play Special K, everyone turned into kids and started singing, pushing. For the duration of this song, i was a teenager again, my arms around a beautiful girl, jumping and singing along to the song. It was great. Oh and needless to say, drenched in sweat too! Great great show...Placebo has been around for a long time but they can still rock and give off a great vibe. i highly recommend seeing this band once in your life. But i hate...HATE THE WILTERN THEATER!!! They seriously need to tear this place down and put a Ihope in its place. Parking is way overpriced, the place rattles and music sounds muffled. i hate this place!!!

This was my 5th Placebo show, the first being in Washington DC in 1998 at the 9:30 Club. By far, the Wiltern show has been the best! The venue was excellent and classic, the band performed perfectly, and the crowd had incredible energy. Placebo covered a lot of the new tunes on "Loud Like Love" along with classics like "Meds," "Special K" and "For What It's Worth." From the first note, I was sorry I wasn't on the floor dancing since the beats were so strong and energetic! Those of us Placebo fans that are in the States are true fan-atics. I was thrilled to be with my fellow fans enjoying the return of this band to the States. I wish I could have gone to the NY show as well. Can't wait for the 2014 US tour! I hope they come to Albuquerque, where we will be living by this winter. We flew in from Portland, Oregon for this show and - had we had the $ - would have gone to the NY show as well!

My first Placebo concert was an unforgettable one. The sound quality was perfect at terminal 5. The instruments were clear, credit to the band, and the lead singer was excellent. Great clear vocals that sounded like the recordings. They played a 2 hour set filled with new songs and some HITS.

I have been Placebo's fan for over 10 years now. NY concert totally blew my mind! Sound was amazing, light was great as well. They payed 20 songs, new stuff from recent album Loud Like Love and old stuff from previous albums. Brian was fantastic, he spoke to the crowd, made jokes and looked very happy. This was the best concert I have ever been to.

Been waiting to see Placebo for 15 years and they did not disappoint. Set list was great - about half new music and half from their back catalog. Brian sounded great and looked as though he was enjoying himself, as did the rest of the band. I wish they were a little more "chatty" but that's just how they are and I'd see them again in a heartbeat. Truly, a great show.

The opener was good musically but not good in terms of mood. Folk music was not the best way to warm up a crowd desperately wanting Placebo. However, it didn't matter because Placebo brought down the house with an almost 2-hour show. They sounded as good and rocked as much as I've ever seen them since I started following them back in 1997.

These guys are great performers who clearly know what they're doing and have been on the music scene long enough to really put on a show. They played songs spanning their albums with a healthy mix of old and new, but they were able to successfully vary their music from the records to keep it interesting (I note this because the previous concert I went to Chromatics, also at Terminal 5 sounded pretty much exactly like the records... boring). Brian Molko no doubt has one of the most interesting voices in music.

I've been anxiously waiting since the cancelled October 2, 2009, show to see Placebo. They were definitely worth the wait. Placebo came out strong and stayed strong the entire show. Their energy fed the energy of the crowd. The crowd never stopped screaming, dancing and singing. Nice mix of older songs with the newer songs. Crowd was very eclectic, showing the diversity of Placebo and their music. I have been a huge fan of Placebo since 1996, and I highly recommend seeing them live if you get the chance.

No Hesitation, no delay, they came on just like special K. Placebo rocked everything harder than a person would ever have imagined. It made every song an anthem and every quiet moment, resonate with intimacy. They are a band on the top of their game. Every song is a playground for them, each one transforming itself into what it needed to be for the night. What you've heard on the albums could not prepare you for what they'll do to your ears live.

Better than my wildest expectations! I love Placebo as a band, even though the first time I ever heard them was "Every you, Every me", which I was totally obsessed with years ago, but never really looked into the band. Years later I re-discovered the song and was still obsessed with it, so I decided to look into the band and very much in love with their work. I was under some weird misconception that they weren't playing anymore, so when I got wind that they had a new album out I instantly devoured it and it's a beautiful evolved version of their sound, a listen-through album rather than a "I like a few songs" kind of deal. I was content with that, but then I found their Boston show on ticket master and KNEW I HAD to see them. I ordered them instantly and requested the days off work months in advance. Not only did I get to hear all the beautiful songs I most wanted to hear from the album, they played my initial love: "Every you, Every me". Imagine being able to hear your favorite song from your teenage years live 10 years later when you thought the opportunity had passed! Incredible. And this isn't one of those studio-only kind of bands that are terrible live and you make due. No, their albums could easily be recorded live and be just as perfect. I was totally, totally blown away. It's even better to find a band you love to have awesome personalities as in not being put off by them when they talk to the crowd and could see yourself really enjoy knowing them... you're always afraid to find out more about something you really like for fear that you'll be let down. Not so. But there are no words for a performance this amazing, so I though I'd paint a picture of what it meant to me. It also just so happened to coincide with my boyfriend and I's 5 year anniversary (he's also a big fan) and I couldn't think of a better way to have spent it!

Great show. Happy to see them again. Most enthusiastic people in the crowd were the young ladies from Serbia in the front row. Just a reminder of how internationally beloved Placebo are. They played well and Brian had some fun crowd banter. I am pretty much in love with Stefan's rainbow bass. This was a first time seeing the band for a lot of people around me. I don't think it was disappointing in the least!

I m sorry, I m sorry. At $3.50 for a beer in Les Foufounes Electriques next door, it was easier than usual to get waylaid and unforgivably miss the start of the Placebo show at Metropolis Montreal last night. But that s what happened, so we arrived just at the end of the moody and provocative opening song which was, as it has been at most of Placebo s gigs recently, B3. I am a proud and loyal owner of all of Placebo s albums but this EP passed me by somehow in 2012 so I wasn t as crestfallen as I might have been. I would, however, have been a great deal more upset if I d missed the second song as the band stepped on the gas pedal with For What It s Worth with its deep opening riff and rousing centrepiece. The audience bobbed and shook as one as Brian Molko tapped into the mood as he can like few others, accompanied on drums by Steve Forrest s tattoos and muscles shimmering in the stage lighting and the willowy figure of Stefan Olsdal providing a looming guitar presence at the front of the stage. The touch paper in Metropolis was lit. I counted 7 tracks from the latest album, Loud Like Love, belted out through the evening and the uplifting, oscillating title track was first up as the momentum caught in the crowd and barely abated for the rest of the evening during the nearly 90 minute set. An early appearance (considering it s elevated place in the Placebo back catalogue) and new perspective on Every You, Every Me rippled across the theatre to widespread joy in the audience who, you got the feeling, ranged in age from early Nancy Boy devotees to Loud Like Love first-timers. The band s appeal may not be entirely all conquering, but it is wide reaching tapping into the psyches of people across spectrums and delivering a comprehension and perspective of life s twists and turns that not all bands are necessarily able to. A Million Little Pieces provided a small period for this kind of reflection and gathering of collective breaths before Too Many Friends and it s memorably strange opening line moved in, with Rob The Bank and Purify allowing the audience to fully engage with the new album as only a live showing can permit. Single armed air thumping returned across the crowd with the anthemic One Of A Kind as the singing along began to raise the roof\u2026 I Am One, the collective shouted. The Meds album provided the structure to sweep the crowd through to the end with Song To Say Goodbye and the title track itself before The Bitter End provided a final that was anything but for the audience whose arms, from the front row to the back of the room, were now held aloft in recognition and semi-worship of a Placebo shaped ball of furious guitars, drums and angst. The 4 song encore gave the baying crowd more, and split itself in 2 a rather strange and anticlimactic choice of Begin The End which almost killed the rampantly positive mood before Running Up That Hill rode over the horizon to remind people not to go just yet, and finishing with stamping, clapping renditions of Post Blue and Infra-Red. Molko s perfect French gave him instant rapport with a city that he somewhat ashen-facedly admitted he hadn t played to for over 10 years and you got the feeling he won t leave it so long next time. The group taking a bow seemed entirely right for a great performance and judging on the excited, satiated murmurings as the crowd filed out, Placebo will be welcomed back with arms both open and aloft.

Watching a stadium-filling band like Placebo in a small venue like the Paradise can go either way. If the band doesn't do things right, then the sound will turn into noise and it won't be enjoyable. It is quite hard to believe that it has taken nearly six years for Placebo to come back to the States to play a gig. I don't pretend to know what goes on in the music industry but it the industry itself exists in such a way where 15-Oct can only happen every six years, music lovers across the planet should be very, very concerned. I expected them to come out with a high level of energy and they surpassed what I thought was a pretty high bar based on the six or seven other times I have seen them live. Even more amazing was that the crowd was singing every song, word for word, through the entire set. Privately I was hoping that they would play a few more songs from Battle For The Sun, seeing how they skipped our country for that tour (Bright Lights, Battle For The Sun, Kitty Litter if I can dream...) but am not too regretful about that. Really, really glad they came back and am hoping they choose to do so again fairly soon!

The wait was kind of terrible. The doors were supposed to open at 7:00 but didn't open until 7:30ish and we waited about another half an hour for the opening act, Jesca Hoop, to perform. She, and the woman she performed with, are both incredibly talented with lovely voices, though they didn't seem like an appropriate opener for Placebo, or maybe it was just the venue. I could imagine them more in a coffee shop or a small intimate space where people can sit down and bask in the sound. That said, I'll probably keep an eye out for her in the future. When the band finally came on, they were non-stop for about an hour and forty minutes, and they definitely could have kept going from the way the crowd was reacting. The energy there was incredible. I loved every minute of it, and I hope they don't wait another seven years to come back to the US.

Being only familiar with Placebo from radio airplay and a couple of their CDs I went more as a slight fan than as a hardcore worshiper and I was glad that I did. I liked every song that they played. I can't name the songs but the guy & girl next to me could I'm sure. The hardcore fans were going nuts. My one criticism of the band is that there were no instrumental solos of any kind but their music can really support a nice expressive guitar solo at least occasionally . I could imagine it in my mind throughout the show. I think a band like this doesn't realize the emotional power from a nice solo that can enhance a song's mood and feeling. I think it's one thing that separates some of the Great bands from the very good. It's not a matter of instrumental "show off " virtuosity, it's a matter of emotional expression within the music. Still a good show, just could have been amazing.

Amazing show! I think I may have been one of the few Americans in the audience, as this band is huge everywhere else in the world except the U.S. It's too bad because I don't know when I'll get to see them again. Although, on the plus side, it was awesome to get to see them in a club for $30 as opposed to a big arena like the ones they headline in Europe. This was their first show in the U.S. in 6 years. I hope it's not another 6 years until they come back, because it was one of the best shows I've ever been to. Thanks Placebo!

I hold this gig dear to my heart as it was the first Placebo concert i've ever attended, and in my hometown too! The entire band was on point, and the setlist was a rollercoaster of emotions. The sanctity held in Brian's voice coupled with the hard hitting drums and bass had me dancing in tongues. I was in 'the pit' and everyone around me was feeling it. This performance was awesome! The sound levels were dialed in perfectly. Many bands leave out details of the music when performing live, but Placebo seems to pay attention to every minute detail. Perhaps they are musical perfectionists. The accuracy of instrumentalism combined with the live sound engineering makes you feel like you are listening to a many tracked perfectly-dialed in studio recording, except with the loundness and intensity of a live performance. Combined with impressive lighting and visual effect and an intimate venue, it was definitely a treat for the senses. One of the tightest live performances I have seen!

Placebo sells out arenas in Europe but can't sell out Terminal Five in New York. This is a good thing. Concerts are always better in smaller venues. Brian Molko chatted with a fan near the front, "You were in front of me in Starbucks. You didn't recognize me." Typing it here it looks boring, but it was pretty funny in the show. Placebo puts on a good performance. They play great together. The energy of the show comes from the band and the music - not so much lights or effects. Again, this is a good thing. Aside from the great show, the crowd is interesting. I doubt half of the people at the New York show were American. The guys in front of me were Israeli. The couple front-left were from China. Americans were to my left and right. Behind me were girls from France, a couple from England then two more people from France. As I left the show I was flanked by Germans. I think that's cool.
