All the bands I got to see were awesome! Unfortunately severe weather compromised the "rain or shine" parameters for Saturday, which shut down the event twice that day. Because of the event being put on pause not once, but twice many artists that I wanted to see were not able to play. Totally not the events fault although I feel like the adjustment to the set times could have been handled better. Sunday went through fine with Slipknot being all that I wanted and Papa Roach being more than I expected. Overall really enjoyed all of it. Even being stuck under that overpass in the rain. Just wish we didn't miss so many bands on Saturday.

This was my 3rd year going, and I have to say that it WAS FABULOUS! !! SLASH .... Let's just say "DAMN", Myles your voiceis fanomenal, the overs experience was the bomb. Breaking Benjamin same thing. GodSmack again DAMN. From the bottom of our hearts thank you for sharing with us your talent 's and your thoughts that you put to music. There was plenty of time to get to everyone i wanted to see. The food vendors I think really stepped up their game for overall category of everyone's needs, best so far that I've seen there. Thank you Rockville for an amazing and well put together event.

I never thought they could do better than last year and boy was I wrong. Entire line up rocked. P.O.D played a great set,FFDP threw down as expected, and KORN put on a excellent performance. When you combine that with Shinedown, Halestorm, and Evanescence in a 6 hour period your gonna have a great time. Can't wait till next year. Great value and a great time.

I only went to day 2, with Slipknot because I went to Earthday Birthday the previous day. I heard there were storms and a tornado 5 miles away. Glad we were at EDBD. Anyway, the lineup was amazing! There were so many awesome bands we decided to head up for this concert. Beer lines were a little long but nothing really out of the ordinary. Plenty of bathrooms and portapotties. Good selection of food and food trucks and the autograph signings and music store tent were cool. They had a guitar shredding contest I would have entered but I wanted to meet the Butcher Babies. By the time I got there, the line was so long I gave up......I already had an ESP LTD like they were giving away but a much better model. Still would have been fun. Maybe I'll enter it next year. The only big downside is there was so much stuff going on that you had to miss out on some things you want to do to see other stuff because of overlapping. I missed all of In This Moment and really wanted to see their show. I haven't seen them since Jan 2014 so I was bummed but whatever. I also didn't like the Jack Daniels stage. The entrances were way too small and hard to get in and out of. Overall highly recommended!

Unfortunately, Saturday was rainy. I missed 3 different bands I wanted to see because they stopped letting the bands play. This happened twice. But, Sunday was gorgeous. The venue has enlarged, the stages separated. Bad news, more people at main stages. Good news, if a stage gets behind, it doesn't delay the other one. Food this year, less than stellar. 2013 had much better selection. Monster stage needed to be moved closer to river to give more patrons a better view. LOCKERS!!! nuff said there. Tequila tent. YES!!! DJ boat. NO!!!! Graffiti wall. YES! Ferris wheel. nice.( I have never done VIP. Why isn't it covered? Shaded? ) It's a festival worth going to . There are gazebos and pavilions to take a break under. Trees also.

Such an unforgettable heavy metal festival. Got weathered out twice first day resulting in a few cancellations, super hot on the second, but all bands put out amazing performances & the sound was incredible. The energy from the crowd was just unreal. Any heavy metal enthusiast needs to know about this festival. Absolutely amazing.

Overall Rockville was once again a fantastic hard rock festival. The venue is absolutely perfect, the bands put on a great show, and the various festivities in the event make for a great experience. I mean, they even had a ferris wheel. That is not to say it's perfect though. On Saturday, rain canceled several bands so if you were looking forward to one or two of them in particular, you are kind of SOL. I met one couple who flew down from Canada to see Halestorm, only to have essentially their entire set canceled. Now, I don't blame the festival for this. There was lightning, hail, and a tornado nearby. You MUST get people to safety. That's without question. However, to pretend that people are not still getting screwed out of their money is absurd. I thought the event should've made some effort to make people understand that they mattered. Maybe make parking on Sunday free or half-off rather than the ridiculous $20. Maybe try and speed things up on Sunday to get one or two of the bands in, at least for meet and greets. Maybe give everyone a free water on Sunday. Do something! Instead, they did nothing. I also thought they once again sold too many VIP tickets. There simply wasn't enough room and finding a seat in the late afternoon became impossible. Sell fewer tickets so you can remove some of the port-a-potties and add more tables and chairs. Speaking of port-a-potties, what happened to the bathroom trailer from a couple of years ago? Now that was VIP worthy. Lastly, they needed to bring in more mulch on Sunday to cover up the muddy areas. There were just too many mud pits that made walking around a hassle. Overall, however, the event is wonderful and I will be buying VIP tickets again next year!

Great experience. Slipknot was amazing. Front left center in the corner of the railing behind one person. Survived the rain and two evacuations, but resulted in better visual for Marilyn Manson in front. A suggestion would be to add vendors to the front of the stage.

There was a tornado and I would have still liked to see the bands that were scheduled! What about a follow up day to make up for it?? Or 50% off my next concert ticket? Or ANYTHING?! Are we not METAL HEADS?! WHO CARES ABOUT A TORNADO! Anyway. Glad that the portopotties were cleaned out between days and they laid down mulch to absorb the rain from day 1. The lineup was sick too.

The two day event was very unforgettable! They had Meet & Greets all day, both days (only downside was sometimes to get in line and meet them, you couldn't go to the other stage area and HEAR them!) Food & drink were readily available and very yummy, though crazy high-priced. The bands were all phenomenal and gracious and sounded perfect from the general admission area. However, we paid way extra for "VIP". That was a total rip off. We didn't get better parking, we didn't get better seating, we didn't get better food, drink, band access.. Heck, we didn't even get IN THE GATES until after the general admission!! CRAZY! We were set up all the way at the back/side of the fields where the bands were playing and couldn't see or hear well at all. Bottom line.. Definitely Go-See, but SAVE your money and buy GENERAL ADMISSION! VIP is a rip off.

This was a great venue aside from the poor performance by theory of a deadman no one else disappointed ....volbeats cover of ring of fire was one of the coolest things of day one... Avenged sevenfold is avenged sevenfold if you don't know what I mean by that you don't belong at Rockville. Second day seether started the crowed but 5FDP was the true gods of the event the crowd noise and crowd surfing was only beaten by korn who had twice as many people watching..... Next years headliner needs to be FIVE_FINGER_DEATH_PUNCH!!!!

Everything about both days of the event took my breath away. I will certainly be returning for Rockville 2015! The selection of bands that played were nothing short of incredible. This is also my first concert in an open park area. I'm used to being in amphitheaters etc., but this was the real deal. The stages at the event were top-notch. The lights and special effects really added a lot of hype to the headlining bands.

Over all the event was great. There were enough vendors and some places to cop a squat under a tree for some shade BUT we did NOT appreciate being sprayed in our faces every 10 minutes with water hoses at the WEST STAGE! It was nice to get a short spritz in the beginning and every once in a while but the event staff (wearing yellow shirts) sprayed everyone continuously thereafter to the tune of being sprayed with fire hoses. It was a direct and forceful spraying constantly. Our phones, bags, shoes, etc were all drenched. This continued until just before dark. The crowd at one point began to plan an attack if it didn't stop which it did at the last hour just before dark and we were there for 12 hours. I mean come on...some spraying to cool off I can totally understand but they went way overboard! I would've enjoyed it much more had we not had to have dealt with that all day. We came to enjoy a concert NOT a water park!

I had a blast with me and a buddy. Security was pretty stupid as far as telling you that you can't bring something in then you seeing everybody around you with that object you had to bring back to your car. So other than dealing with stupidity, it was great. A lot of great bands. Expensive food and drinks obviously (no re-entry so easy way to make money). Definitely worth going to. If you can get past the irritating security and prices of food and drink haha. It is veryyy crowded tho.

The over all festival was a huge success, as was last year. My only disappointment came when it was Theory Of a Dead Man's turn to play, as much as i was looking forward to them i was just as much wishing it was over.I thought they really weren't all that good, their stage presents was stagnant and the vocals were awful. I Would Not go out of my way to see them again. Korn and Rob Zombie whom I've seen may times of course did not disappoint at all. They gave their all and came threw once again. I thank them for a wonderful show and i appreciate their talents, well worth the money and then some.

This concert was one of the BEST I have ever been to. It was located in Jacksonville and I drove every bit of 16 hours from Indiana to see these guys perform and it was worth every bit of time cramped into the car! Avenged Sevenfold put on a show that I will never forget, Chiodos came out with so much energy and put on a good show, and ADTR came out and performed fantastically! It was just the concert I needed to prepare me for Vans Warped Tour this July! Overall awesome concert!

This was my second time at Rockville. I Flew in from Boston and I purchased VIP tickets. I however was disappointed this year compared to last. They had the 2 main stages at opposite ends of the park so it was tiring walking back and forth all day long in the heat. Last year they had the 2 main stages next to each other so it was convenient going back and fourth from stage to stage. If you wanted to see the smaller bands then walks back and forth were because you chose. The air conditioned bathroom wasn't in the VIP section this year like last and their was less vendors. They added a second VIP section which was nice but they put it on a hill so you couldn't see the stage. Food prices were a little high but the alcohol was comparable to sporting venues. Overall I most likely will go back next year. However it would be more convenient if Monster Energy would add a Festival up here in New England for the World's Loudest Month for New Englanders to experience.

The venue itself was one of the nicer open air venues I've been to recently. The surplus of available bathrooms was nice but not very well maintained. It was hot and the staff entertained the crowd by hosing them off. Pyrotechnics were great. The wait between artists was a bit much with standing in the heat for sometimes an hour waiting on bands to start. That got a little tiresome in the heat. I also wish that I didn't have to compromise seeing one band for the other because they were playing at the same time( I.e. Five finger death punch and motionless in white) My main complaint is that events like this should not be all ages. The cameramen were very vigilant in displaying, on the huge screens, all the girls showing off their chests. This is expected at most concerts but I'm bothered by the fact that there were tons of young children there exposed to it. Shows like this really need to be 18 and up.

I had never been to Metro park before. Great venue. Wish that they had left more time between bands . Also wish that there weren't more than one playing at the same time. Before the line up changed , my girls were trying to decide how much of Hollywood Undead they could see before running over to Motionless in White. Plenty of food, no long lines at vendors. The first day it took us an HOUR to get in. They needed more than 4 gates going in. Second day we had no wait. Merch was about the same price as other venues. Good selection. I'm not sure why Lynard Skynard got put into this mix?? I wish I had known the line up prior to making reservations. I would have checked out sunday, and after Shinedown ,played driving a few hours toward home. Then my Monday drive would have been shorter. Security was there, effective, but not aggressive. LOTS of places to sit and take a load off.

Let's start with the venue...OUTSTANDING! Metropolitan Park in Jacksonville is a great concert venue. There is shade everywhere and REAL bathrooms! The lineup was amazing. I have never seen so many big acts in one place before. For anyone wanting to see Alice in Chains, let me just say...their new singer sounds amazingly like Layne Staley. Other great acts: Hollywood Undead tore it up and brought a young kid from the crowd up on stage with them. Steel Panther...it is like the 80's reborn meets This is Spinal Tap...they were great! My only complaint is not really a complaint because I know bands have to start at the bottom and earn their way to a main stage, but Device (lead singer David Draiman of Disturbed) should have been on a main stage if Red and Asking Alexandria were. We trekked back to one of the smaller stages to see them and it would have been worth it to walk 100 miles. They may have been the best act there although it is hard to just be cavalier with handing out that title. Overall, if you want to see a great festival, I would HIGHLY recommend this one for the venue and the overall production. Well done, Jacksonville!

The show was awesome!!! I went to see Trivium. I wanted to see them the most. I'd already seen them twice before and knew they'd rock the place. They are really cool guys too. They had a meet and greet after their time on stage. I got their autographs, shook their hands, and got to kiss Corey on the cheek. I was happy. There is so much room to spread out and you don't feel like people are on top of you the whole day. The LINEUP - is just killer. Overall the event was amazing except for the VIP experience which was very poorly managed for the cost! There were a total of two security guards for the main VIP area and I spent more time fighting through crowds of people that did not have VIP access in the VIP areas!!! I would've expected a little more security given the cost of those VIP areas. The festival never announced that Hollywood Undead was being canceled as droves of people anxiously awaited for them to start playing only to have another band come on. The meet and greets went very well and there was a lot of access to a lot of different bands.

The show is usually great, but all of the first day was ruined. I understand that weather can't be helped, but the way it was handled was terrible. The announcement for the storm asked everyone to evacuate to their cars. They didn't tell you that you needed your tickets to get back in and ours got soaked in the rain and fell apart. They also didn't tell anyone bands were getting canceled. 2-3 got canceled in the first wave of storms. We waited it out to see Halestorm though. We managed to get to the front and right before they came on the warning went up again and we were told to evacuate. With no information from anyone at the festival, we figured they would be canceled too. We finally decided to leave because of that, got completely drenched trying to get to our cars only to hear them start playing after about 20 minutes of waiting for the rest of our party. Even when people asked, no one would tell them what was going on. We were all pretty angry with the concert staff for failing to tell anyone anything besides the storm was coming and to evacuate.

Awesome show! All the bands were great. Except marylin Manson. He looked sloppy. Metallachi was a great addition as well. Very entertaining. The only complaint I could give is that this is a 2 day show that lasts a long time (11ish to midnight) and once they scan your ticket, you can't get back out. It was very unfair to lock people in a place like that all day without being able to leave. Thankfully it rained out a couple times during saturday and we were allowed to walk back to the car and tailgate some without having to pay 10 bucks for half a chicken breast on a stick!! Overall though we had a great time and do plan to attend next year.

2nd year going...last year only 1 day; this year both days! Absolutely well done event right from parking to the bands to the venue to the variety of food. Hatebreed, Slayer and Godsmack were favorites but discovered 2 new bands that are really good; Shattered Sun and Sanre. I recommend VIP tickets highly; definitely worth the extra $s.

Due to my job being in emergency management I was not able to come over on Saturday for day 1 of the festival. The weather cleared on Sunday and I was able to make it. I loved Slash's set...he had a mixture of songs off of his albums along with classic Guns 'N' Roses songs. Godsmack was very good as well. Surprise guest Nothing More sounded awesome, and the Butcher Babies and Tremonti as well as the Pretty Reckless all sounded amazing.

everything was great at the Omni. I loved the VIP section at Monster main stage but the other VIP at JD main stage was a joke... So small. Couple of future suggestions is that VIP have reenrty since our hotels are so close it would be nice to go change for the night shows. Lockers were a good idea. More big screens.

Welcome to Rockville was awesome! This was my first time attending it and I was impressed, minus the weather which can't be controlled. There were so many good bands playing I had to make it down to Jacksonville from Michigan to check it out. I plan on attending again.

The lineup was amazing and the secret performance was the best part by far. Even though the weather was not optimal on Saturday they picked the show back up and started when the weather cleared not once but twice! The only thing I could say that could be better is if there was a closer view to the stage from VIP especially by the main monster stage. You could see the big monitors but its not the same experience as you get by being closer to the acts and after paying the money you do its not as great. The bathrooms and tables under the bypass were a great choice when the weather was not so nice and also when the sun was blazing on Sunday.

Welcome to Rockville was a great experience. The hotel and vip package were well worth it. Saw more great bands than I can count. Only complaint is they need more accommodations for severe weather. There were very few places in the venue to get out of the storm if you did not drive. Lots of food, drink and merchandise options. If you like heavy metal, get to one of these events.

Great Line up for a reasonable cost. My only issue was there was a rain storm that came in at the beginning of the first day and they would not let us into the show and i a few acts were cancelled because of this. It did say on the ticket rain or shine, yet because there was some lightning the show did not go on this this stopped. I was a little concerned because i drove 876 miles from New Jersey to Florida to make the show. Once the rain stopped the show was pretty amazing. Only issues were the camera men who shot video for the main stages did a poor job and beings it was a festival i saw a lot of the shows from the screens and also in order to get a water you had to wait in the beer lines which were very long, the prices were good just i felt you should have been able to get water at the food vendors instead of a 15 minute wait, in which i bought 1 water each day because i didn't feel like waiting in line.

Except for the weather on Saturday which they could not help, the event was great. Lots of great bands every year to see. I like how they set up this year's event with utilizing the stadium parking which is a lot closer and less walking!

The main reason we got tickets was to see Hollywood Undead. We saw Stars in Stereo, they were great! Then they set up HU. It started to rain, for about 2.5 hours. We got ran off, we were at the stage. When we returned we couldn't get near the stage. Then they tore down HU stage. Just wow! The next band, Of Mice and Men played then we left. Worst concert experience of my life. The tickets said rain or shine! I heard eight bands didn't play that day. I wouldn't ever drive 6 hours to go there again!

Shocktop is not a "Craft Beer" - stop selling for $9 each. No water or beer sold during rain sessions. So, everyone water hours with no beverages and was told to go to their cars for shelter. TWICE throughout the festival on Sat. 4/25. Fire Marshall stopped booth from selling parasols for shade in 90 degree hot weather. Minimal shade was available near the stages. IF IT WASNT FOR SLIPKNOT BEING AS KICK ASS AS THEY WERE ON SUNDAY, the whole 2-festival would have been a complete waste of time, money & energy. Too bad there was a ton of mud everywhere... at least they threw SOME mulch down.

I went to Rockville on Saturday April 25 and though I wasn't able to make it at the opening time, I learned upon my arrival at 5 pm that I hadn't missed much. I got my VIP pass and geaded to the stages. Many of the bands had been cancelled due to weather conditions, but I still got to see two of the four bands I wanted to see most of all: Halestorm and Marilyn Manson. Halestorm put on a great show, even jesting about naming your band carefully to avoid inclimate weather. They played their biggest hits and a few songs off the new album before handing the stage over to Slayer. The fun and games started long before Manson took the stage. The mud pit was already churned to ankle depth by the time I got to the stage and there were intermittent shoving matches all around. A good day so far. I even found a tent selling gluten-free goodies so all was well. I had never attended a Manson concert before so I was uncertain if the low energy was building to something greater towards the end. I ended up waiting for a crescendo that never came. Several times Manson mumbled through songs and even added a "whatever" as the always sexy Ziggy carried the band through the performance. I'm not sure if the resentment was mutual but he clearly had no love for Jacksonville. Finally I attended part of the Korn concert. There was an abundance of energy to be had, but ranther a lack of focus. Most of the songs played were either so old or so new I didn't recognize a single stanza, even as I left the grounds and walked to my car. (Where I had to pay $20 to park). The VIP pass in my opinion was a complete waste of money. The VIP area was so far from the stage I would have been better off mixing it up in the mosh pit. There was no parking included either. The VIP services consisted of a few vendors, mostly selling the same stuff - T-shirts and cheap beer - at a premium. The information posted on the grounds and/or given by the staff was incorrect about 99% of the time. There were multiple signings I would have liked to attend, but couldn't get any information as to where and when they would be. In closing, the weather certainly added an element of chaos to the event, but there was a clear lack of communication between the bands and the staff. Save your money and buy the cheap tickets because you can't bring a professional camera/ camcorder or binoculars into the event either. Might as well see it up close and personal even if you do wind up leaving bruised and covered in mud.

This event is one of my favorites and I schedule it into my calendar and my budget every year. The only reason I did not give this year's event 5 stars was because of the way they changed the setup. Having two main stages opposite each other makes it difficult to get to the stage without missing the first couple songs of each band. Not to mention, you don't have enough time to get to a good viewing area. At the end of the day, it doesn't make me want to purchase more food or merchandise by making me walk past the vendors multiple times - it makes me TIRED. And because of that, I opted to leave early and missed out on almost all of SLIPKNOT. Additionally, the two smaller stages were really close to the Monster Stage and they played on top of the bands on the Monster Stage, making it hard to hear the music. VERY distracting!

I missed out on half the bands because of overlapping set times. You had to pick and chose what bands to see. The muddy main stage grounds smelled like cow manure. Thanks to the Jack Daniels they sold, I didn't lose it.

The weather was terrible the first day, it rained and even had a tornado watch. We missed out seeing Hollywood Undead, Halestorm, and Devil Wears Prada. Second day of Rockville was just awesome. The weather kept and we got to see everyone. It made up for the first day though some of the bands were scheduled right on top of each other so you couldn't see a whole show if you wanted to see both bands. It didn't last as late as Rockville last year either.

This is my third year attending Welcome to Rockville and it was just as awesome as before. Yes, there were some rain delays but I feel like there wasn't really anything else they could do about that. They had to keep people safe. I love seeing the changes made each year to make the show better and better. The only thing that kind of sucked this year is the bottle necking/crowd flow at the entrance and exit. That was kind of a nightmare.

The bands were great but the way the event was layed out with the 2 main stages on oppsite sides of the park ment 20000 people walking back and forth. Last tim ewe went the 2 main stages were together and we could see all the bands we wanted to see with out walking miles for the day. Also I got the impression the event was over sold for where it was held. Should have cut off ticket sales and planned for a bigger location next year.

Despite the show stopping 2 times for severe weather I had a blast. Good music and great bands. This was my first time seeing Slayer and even though I'm not a fan I was impressed by how fast they played. KoRn played the best I have ever seen them play (9 times). Congrats on 20 years guys. Sunday was great also. Breaking Benjamin killed it. Great to see them back. PaPa Roach was great and so was Godsmack. Seeing Slash was awesome. I can't wait to do it again next year. Bring back Breaking Benjamin and KoRn.

Great shows and lots of fun! Just don't buy mixed drinks there and wear comfortable shoes. I caught one of the so called bartenders under pouring. Needless to say that was my one and only drink I bought there that day! Monster main stage area could of used more mulch put down on ground after all that rain. All in all it is well worth the money loved seeing Slash, Hailstorm etc...and Nothing more was a awesome addition to the already rocking line up! I had a great time and would recommend going to everyone who loves rock.

Rain evacuations on Saturday, yes I understand weather can be bad but bands did not play, we had to pay $40 in parking for 2 days when it should have got free parking on sunday due to the weather atleast. On Sunday we were held in the parking lot 30 minutes after gates were supposed to open. I use to love going to rockville, but I will never go again. Treat your customers better.

To start off, these tickets were very pricey, ended up paying $160 for two people, thought I would get more than my money's worth. I was totally wrong. The event got rained out, which led all of the attendees to be forced under a covered overpass side by side cramped, for about an hour and a half. When the storm had passed, so did the bands that were scheduled to play. They picked up on the schedule and I was willing to keep the positivity and have a good time....the band I came to see, Slayer, decided to wait and play their set an hour after they were scheduled to, and by the time they began to play, the other headliner, who I wanted to see as well, Marilyn Manson, was scheduled to play. I skipped Slayer to see Manson, and this was the highlight. I saw one person play out of 10 that I paid money to see. Definitely would give anything to have my money back. Not to mention, the bathroom situation at the fest was disgusting. Porta-potties that were covered in vomit. And with all of the rain, I must not forget to mention that we were wading in muddy water to walk around. Horrible atmosphere, horrible location, horrible scheduling, overpaid for one of the least exciting events I have ever been to. Highly disappointed. Thought the event was rain or shine...must have been false advertisement.

This was my first concert in Jax. I enjoyed the hotel, the hospitality and ....the concert!...the lineup was simply amazing! We decided to omit the Orlando EDBD to go to this event and (sorry JRR) glad we did. However, I was very disappointed that I did not get to see Scott Weiland Saturday due to the storms. Highlight of Saturday for me was Marilyn Manson! He sounded phenomenal and was very entertaining....which I expected from him. He did not disappoint. Sunday was more jam packed! The weather cooperated with the event and got to see more bands....Slash feat. Myles Kennedy, Motionless in White, Hatebreed, Godsmack, etc....and the main headliner....Slipknot! which drew me to go in the first place! Saying they were amazing just doesn't cover it. They were bad ass to the bone!! They made all the pushing, shoving and stampede of inconsiderate assholes worth it! Would I do it again? Hell yeah!
