This was the second time we saw The Weight. These musicians are super talented. The setlist was good. The only song I wished they had done was When I Paint My Masterpiece. Some songs really miss the voices of Rick and Richard. Those voices are tough to emulate. I really enjoyed Like A Rolling Stone. They did not do that the first time I saw them. The audience was really into this show as were the musicians so it was a very enjoyable evening.

What happens when you combine some of the best American music with some of the most talented players?? Catch a show on this tour and you'll find out. Felt like early 70s all over again. Tight and spirited performances - original and peripheral members of the Band. Jim Weider can hang with anyone on a stage with a guitar in his hand. As big a Telecaster monster he is - he is an equally warm and engaging person. Hung out with fans after the showi, sharing smiles and pictures. So very humble. And again, so very talented. If your a Band fan, a rock and roll fan or just love great music played by guys who put the word "pro" in professional musicians, this is the gig. Jeff S.

Go see them. It's that simple. They played in Fort Lauderdale at a wonderful venue the Amaturo at Broward and I was lucky to be in the front row. Brought back many memories of seeing the Band and also Levon Helm in Woodstock back in the day of FM radio gigs and concerts to live by. The set list was excellent. The Night They Drove Ol Dixie Down, Rag Mama Rag, Stage Fright, The Weight, Ophelia... actually a dream of Band favorites strung together with a "band" of excellent musicians. Be prepared to get a donut stuck in your teeth! Uploaded a few photos Marty Grebb and Brian Mitchell were great too!

Having never actually seen The Band in their heyday, I'm hesitant to say this group is the "next best thing". More than a tribute band, these men have played, or been associated with the post Robbie Robertson, reformed Band and individual members' own solo acts. We in the audience were treated to many Band favorites(The Weight - of course, Stage Fright, Rag Mama Rag), but also some deep cuts - Across the Great Divide, King Harvest, Tears of Rage and for the encore Chest Fever. Additionally they performed some of their own material featured on their current album World Gone Mad. The vocals, musicianship and energy were top notch. Next time I'd love to hear Katy's Been Gone, Long Black Veil and It Makes No Difference! Great show!

Had a lot of fun. The musicians were top notch and they played all the classic The Band songs. My only complaint is that contrary to the advertisement, none of the original band members were part of the band. They did say the guitarist had played with The Band but that was obviously not what was expected. So really this is a tribute band.

This is an excellent group of musicians who are keeping the music of The Band alive. Though there are no members from The Band's original lineup, they have played with The Band and/or its members. The Weight brought the crowd at the Amaturo Theater to its feet during or after several songs and much of the crowd surged to the stage for the encores. They are much more than a cover band, they play some of the finest music we will ever hear with great talent and enthusiasm. The Weight was well worth it!!! What a fun night!!

I loved that they had a full band, with drummer, 2 guitars, organ and piano. All of the musicians were amazing, and they played all of The Band's hits, including 3 encores. The show far exceeded our expectations.

The Weight band was great ! Unfortunately the crowd at the Welmont took the lyrics too literally and decided to take a load off by sitting the entire time in their seats. Shame on them!!! And you would get yelled at by security if you stood up! REALLY??? you can't stand at a rock concert?? Levon Helm is turning in his grave. There is nothing a band likes more than seeing their hard effort and musical talent appreciated by people actually getting up, dancing and shaking their bones. Shame on the Welmont for putting all those chairs in the dance floor. When DSO plays they know better to do that. And that lame crowd should stay at home on their couch and listen to a dvd.

This is no cover or tribute band.Everyone of these guys is the real deal, and can draw a straight line directly to Levon Helm.Their list of credits both as individuals and collectively reads like a who's who of rock and roll.

I have no idea why the house was sparse, maybe it's been too long since 1976 when the initial incarnation of The Band played their Last Waltz and many have forgotten the impact that they had on music? Hard to say. This was as close as it gets and the music the voices and the act were as close as it gets to the original. I suspect it has to do with most of the musicians having played with The Band's member in different incarnation of the group and its off-shoots since the groups initial demise. The music was rocking and the crown thoroughly enjoyed the performance. The Blue Ocean is a fantastic intimate room for such a performance as well. I couldn't have asked for anything better!!!

My first rock & roll concert was The Band, in the early 1970's. I still count that among my favorites. So I was happy when I learned that a tribute band of amazing musicians, with many personal ties to The Band, was coming to town to perform The Band's most memorable songs. This was an intimate concert, and was not promoted well. But everyone who came had a great time! When I closed my eyes, I was transported back to the show I saw in the 70's. Most of the songs were so lively, many folks danced, and it was an older crowd. Many of their renditions were spot-on, even though it is hard to recreate the vocals of Levon Helm and Rick Danko, with their iconic voices. After the show, several band members came to the merch table, signed autographs, and regaled us with stories of their experiences with The Band.

This is one of the shows you need to see. This is a group of very good musicians and the songs are performed really well. The group is tight and the sound great. I took a group of friends that did not really know The Band but as soon as the music started they recognized and loved the music. Overall it was a memorable evening. Being a Deep Tracks radio station listener I wanted to hear Acadian Driftwood but they did not play it but I was still very happy with the setlist.

I wasn't sure what to expect as I didn't recognize any of the musicians, but they were very tight and played all the old favorites.

Great Show!! The musicians were excellent. They played all of The Band's early hits. They added some intros and solos but basically played the songs with their original arrangements. The vocals were adequate but you can't expect anyone to be as good as Levon Helm, Richard Manuel and Rick Danko. I highly recommend The Weight to anyone who likes good rock n roll music. Thank you for coming to the West Coast and for continuing to play this great music!!

These guys are very talented musicians who play music that is cross between blues , folk , country and slight rock. Wonderful music from the music the band played and some of their own songs. We met them after the concert and they really nice guys and will sign their autographs, nice touch to an end to a great evening. Don't miss this band!

I went to this concert not knowing what to expect since Levon was not going to be there etc. I went thinking if I could just hear a few of my favorites I would be happy since seeing these guys in one form or another was on my bucket list. They put on an exceptional show. It was fun, they sounded great and so many of the songs, The Weight, Stage Fright, Cripple Creek were really well done. If you have the chance its a great take and you will be happy you went.

To start off, I must comment on the venue. Penns Peak is a modern building with an interior done up to look like an old barn. I don't mean distressed wood or anything like that, but a lot of wood and with an open feeling, ceiling fans high overhead keeping the air moving, and a large stage, ideally suited for the presentation of music. A quick note on the adjoining restaurant, known as "Roadies". Well, if I was a roadie, I'd gladly chow down there anytime. Food is good, view from the outside deck is spectacular, and it's a great way to prepare to be amazed, which we were. The Band, to me, is the essential 'American' group, and I mean North America, not only the USA. Their music spans the entire spectrum of what this continent has to offer. We can no longer hear those guys 'live' anymore, mostly because 3/5 of them aren't alive anymore. Therefore, a good tribute band is the best we can hope for, and these guys fill the bill and then some. Jim Weider played on the last three Band albums, after Robbie left, and his lead guitar is just amazing. The drummer has that easy going to maniacal style that Levon gave us, and the dual keyboard artists kept the night rocking along with a commentary that led us down the pathways, through the years of the Band from Ronnie Hawkins up to the final days. Never a dull moment, and the folks listening got "all shook up" as the night went on, many dancing in the aisles and singing along with their favorites. If you get a chance to see this group, do yourself a favor and buy the tickets. You won't be disappointed if you love the Band as much as we do!

Show was awesome. Except for having the original The Band members it couldn't be better. You could sense they played for the audience and not a pay check. Show was over 2hrs with 2 sets. A must see for fans of The Band.

I was shocked how few people were in attendance but got in after work and made it just after the first song started. It was like having the Band in my living room. Everyone was soooo nice and respectful of each other. The concessions people were terrific (as usual). After we left one of my parking lot neighbors came out with a poster. I ran back in and found the sale table by the mixer boards (other side from where we were seated because there was nothing in the usual lobby spot). I grabbed a poster and some CDs and one of the sound guys grabbed us and we went into the below stage area and hung out with everyone and they signed our poster. (Im 59 so it was an incredible moment for me as I still can remember seeing the band all over Atlanta and up north. I told the guys this was"better than my birthday" they said.. its your birthday? and I replied "No, better than my birthday, my 60th came 7 months early!" What a great compilation of guys keeping great music live and alive!

Band started 35 minutes late without a opening act. They gave no excuse and I believe it is rude to the audience.
