Wild, I read the late review and figured I had better do something I have never done and that is give a review. Rachelle did what she does.....reach way down in the soul of a person and pull out emotions, life and anything else down inside of you. She is not just a singer....those are a dime a dozen. Ms. Ferrell is an artist, an activist and more than anything a Preacher......telling her story in song and in 5 minute detours. I came for the music, the songs, the lessons to be learned and....yes...for the Preaching. I paid for the FRONT ROLL SEAT IN THE PITT AREA. AND I WILL PAY FOR IT AGAIN, AND AGAIN AND AGAIN. And I left when she was finished. No one else had anything to offer!

The concert was very relaxing. We experienced a different moment with Rachelle Ferrell who chose to have a "Grown Folks Conversation" and spirit dance for about 30+ minutes, after some microphone feedback problems at start of her performance. A lot of fans were perplexed, but overall the concert performances were smooth and well received. I just hope that Rachelle is actually ok and maintaining a healthy life cycle that will allow her to continue to create great music and deliver amazing vocal performances. I'm not ready or prepared to lose another great vocalist.

Birchmere is such a great venue for any live performance, but coupled with a professional and an extraordinary performer such as Rachelle Ferrell, you have an unforgettable evening. Rachelle Ferrell is one of a kind and if you have never seen her live, you are missing out on a wonderful experience. Words cannot capture her performance...unbelievable is an understatment. I took my boyfriend as a treat. It was his first time seeing Rachelle live. He was in awe. She was definitely worth the cost.

Not a dull moment the whole show. I've been a fan since 1993. She is a beautiful woman with a beautiful soul and a GREAT talent. The love for her was in the room and we felt it back from her. She did songs by request... interacted with the audience... and played the HELL out of that piano. And to think that she had a cold!!! Vocal talent is amazing... when she did "Nothing has ever felt..." she sang her part AND Will Downing's!! It was just great entertainment. Best money I've spent in a long time. Hope she comes through the DC area again. I will DEFINITELY be in the house. Back up band had a DEEP groove... loved the solo pieces... bass player was groovy, drummer was TIGHT, and the guitar player was soulful. Keyboard player obviously has gospel / Hammond B3 chops. GO SEE THIS SHOW!!!

I don't want to spend too much time attempting to describe something that English words cannot adequately capture. Rachelle Ferrell is the only artist I've ever heard that literally brought me to tears, not just with her lyrical content, but with her unbelievable talent. I was grateful to be on earth that day just to have had the opportunity to hear and see her live. If you are composing a "bucket list" of things you need to do before you die, make sure you add "See Rachelle Ferrell Live in Concert" to your list. I promise you will have never heard anyone as amazing and awe inspiring before her, and you may never hear anyone nearly as talented again. Please understand when I say this, I'm not just over-exaggerating: Rachelle Ferrell is the Best Vocalist (Male or Female) on the Planet! Do yourself a favor and pay whatever it takes to see her. You will be glad you did.

This was my first time seeing Rachelle Farrell perform live and I must say that I got my money's worth and some. There is talent and then there's God-given talent. Rachelle possesses the latter. I can truly say that her vocals are beyond comparison and her musical style timeless! Not many artists make singing look as effortless as Rachelle.

As a huge fan of Rachelle Ferrell I was quite excited to see her at the Birchmere. I was disappointed however that during the first hour of the show she talked at length with the audience, sang a song or 2, took about 20 minutes to introduce her band, sang another couple of songs, and introduced the band again. Granted she did explain that she had just gotten over a cold and that her voice wasn't 100% but she still sounded amazing. The second hour did improve in that she sang a number of songs but by that time I was sort of over it. The audience kept calling out song titles which made Rachelle ask at one point, "What is this? Request hour?" No, the audience just wanted to hear more singing and less chit chat. When you pay to hear a singer of her caliber you really want to hear as much singing as you can get.

Despite her just getting over her laryngitis, she still gave an electrifying performance. Her ability to sing with such great dynamics, and soulfulness kept the audience on the edge of their seats. She song her famous song, Nothing Has Ever Felt Like This (duet on her album with Will Downing), as a solo, and she was awesome. Her effortless movement of her voice throughout the registers made her appear to be invincible. I want more\u2026I can t wait until her new album hit the streets!!!

We were at the show celebrating my friends 40th birthday. The christmas music they played until 8 pm when the show began was childish and inappropriate, they could have played grown up christmas songs instead of nursery rhymes!!! Avery Sunshine opened the show and was very entertaining love love love her. K-Jon on the other hand wasn't ready, he was boring and all his music sounded the same. The best part of his performance was Lee English Jr on the violin. Also K-Jon had too lengthy of a spot, his performance was less than average and way too long. Raheim was very good but again was given too lengthy a spot, because he got boring too. Rachelle Ferrell was in a class on her own, she had unbelievable energy, incredible vocals and a BAND that was on point every time!!!!!!

It's been a few years since I've been able to be graced with the most amazing sound (next to the initial cries of my children)..the sound of Rachelle Ferrell's velvety voice. There is nothing more that I love than the artistry of some entertainers. Rachelle Ferrell is one of those entertainers. She is a true musician. From the time she transcends on the stage until her very last note she allows you to go on a journey with her...and you always leave knows that you truly have been a part of an experience. Her music and her sound is timeless. After her show I always leave thinking how it must be to have such an extraordinary gift! I could go on and on about that Divine sistah, but I would be remisted had I not not spoke a word concerning our brothas'. Raheem Devaughn and K Jon were exceptional additionals I loved Raheem Devaughn's energy and creativity. I'd forgotten how much great music he too brings to the table. K Jon, the newest artist of that trio graced the stage and did his thing as well, the live musicians added to the listener appeal. I felt like I was floating on air at the conclusion of that show. Oh yea, the opening artist Avery Sunshine is a sistah to be on the look out for!!!

When a great band, Pieces Of A Dream, is teamed up with vocal genius, Phil Perry and followed by a songbird with tremendous range and a touch of sexiness a.k.a. Rachelle Ferrell, then that can only amount to a beautiful evening of entertainment and that's what the fans received this past Friday.

For my 40th birthday weekend my husband offered to take me to see my favorite singer whom I never had the pleasure of seeing live. The concert was in Buffalo, NY and we live in Dallas, TX . Why didn't that matter? Because it was Rachelle Farrelle. Ms. Farrelle and her band gave a spectacular show. My only regret was that it wasn't just a tad longer. Her soaring high to basement low octaves were present for all to hear. No computer assistance neccessary. Piano to keyboard, she reminded all that she is both an accomplished singer and musician. She spoke to the audience the way one would and old friend. It was as if she knew most of us had moved with First Instrument and her other work from cassette to CD to digital and to whatever lies beyond. The highlight of my night was when she announced ahe was back in the studios with the very band who sat on the stage. She listed several colaborating artist who will be on her upcoming album including another favorite of mine Lalah Hathaway. If you ever get the chance to see Rachelle live, don't miss it. I know i won't.

She really performed from the depths of her very being. She is an amazing artist! I've been a fan for over 15 years. This was my first live performance with her and I truly was in awe! The concert was everything I was expecting and more. This is not the first time I have seen Ms. Ferrell in concert, but no matter how many times or how often I see her, she always makes it a new experience. She is one of the best, if not THE best, vocalist alive. What she does with music surpasses words, colors, pictures, or any other form of expression. I am elated that she stays true to REAL music and ALWAYS...ALWAYS delivers. Thank you Rachelle :)

I know there are a lot of negative reviews out there, but I was thrilled to see and hear Rachelle Ferrelle for the first time. She has phenomenal talents. While the show may not have been ideal, it offered a glimpse into this creative soul. She performed one of my favorites, which I didn't expect, "Peace on Earth" with just her at the keyboard stretching the song out slowly but amazingly. Don't forget she's an excellent pianist/keyboardist. The band was tight. I was very pleased to see her.

I ve started making annual treks to The Birchmere for my birthday with a group of 10-15 family members and friends. I was REALLY excited about March 3rd because I had never heard Rachelle Ferrell live. I had family members in my group who bought tickets and drove five hours to celebrate with me. In short, we were all extremely disappointed. It is, hands down, the worst concert experience I ve had my whole adult life. I am a big fan of Ms. Ferrell and will continue to be, but I don t think I d spend money again to see her in person. I could have dealt with all the talking she did if songs had been interspersed between soliloquies. Some of what she talked about made sense and I could relate, but she only did 3, maybe 4, complete songs. The rest of the concert, sadly, was garbage. The musicians were very good. The fill-in guitarist was PHENOMENAL! The experience didn t dampen my birthday celebration because I was with people who love me and whom I love, but I was left with an indelible impression: a Rachelle Ferrell concert would not be a birthday option for me in the future.

This was the absolute worst concert we've ever been to by far! Rachelle did too much talking...most of which we couldn't hear her clearly. She did not sing enough to display her phenomenal voice. We have NEVER walked out of a concert early, but we did for this one, and we weren't the only ones. I saw Rachelle many years ago and she was a complete 180 degrees from back then. Loved The Birchmere as always, but Rachelle...not so much. She gets 1 Star. This was a HUGE disappointment and waste of time and money for my date night with the hubby. >:-(

I will start by saying that I love Rachelle Ferrell. She is blessed with an amazing voice. I was really looking forward to enjoying an evening of her live performance. I was so disappointed. She only sang 3 songs. She appeared to be a little off to put it nicely. She rambled quite a bit...not sure what she was talking about. She sang Amazing Grace and cried a bit... which was okay. She had an unhappy guest that kept yelling for her to sing. We all felt it but didin t want to be rude and yell it out. Rachelle cussed her out. She then introduced her band and left the stage. I stayed in;my seat, expecting her to return...no such luck. It was really sad to see. I m not sure what s going on with her but I pray that she gets the help that she needs. I drove 2 1/2 hours from Richmond to Alexandria in traffic to only be let down. Never again. I will be a CD fan going forward.

Rachelle has always been the most incredible and my favorite artist on the planet, however, this particular concert left me, my husband and everyone around us asking "what in the world happened to her tonight"? She only sang 6 songs (which were amazing) and gave inspirational thoughts the rest of the night. I was so disappointed since I drove 5 plus hours to hear her and it was a birthday gift to my husband. I'm almost to the point of vowing to not see her again

As a big fan of Rachelle Ferrell (attended many of her concerts, and own most of her CDs), I am sorry to say that this past weekend's Birchmere show was not up to her standards. I met someone while waiting in line (who had attended the show the previous Friday night), and she was bemoaning the fact that "Rachelle must have TALKED, not sung, for at least 45 mins!" I discounted her review, but must agree because I faced similar at her Saturday show. Rachelle performed about 6 songs, and interspersed a lot of dialogue in-between. When one (rather rude, but on point) female from the audience yelled out "Rachelle, SING!", it really set the performer off into a rather vulgar tirade from which she never seemed to recover. I have thoroughly enjoyed EVERY previous Rachelle performance, but cannot recommend what I witnessed Saturday night, and did feel somewhat disappointed and cheated with the program. While I do not excuse the fan for her outburst, I also do not excuse Rachelle from the rather mundane and uninspired performance that she gave. I really hope that it was an aberration, and that this is NOT a new (low) standard for her performance.

I was extremely disappointed with the conduct displayed by Rachelle Ferrell. Apparently she allowed a heckler to get the best of her and she never recovered. I am a fan so it was a very sobering experience to see how she reacted to the hecklers. The best song shared was Amazing Grace..... the band was awesome. Totally did not expect the cursing and attitude displayed! Not a good memory for my Birthday. SMH!

This was my seventh time seeing Ms. Farell live and I am not sure what was going on? She sang maybe one song and pieces of harmonizing. It appeared that she was not prepared and was having a hard time focusing. It was very unprofessional and frustrating to sit through. I will not attend another concert. I was so disapointed because I paid for her amazing voice and did not get to hear it. In addition, her profanity was offensive and not becoming of a performer such as herself. So unfortunate when the Birchmere is known for being a great venue because of its intimacy with the performer. I was quite and sat through the night however ......Never again sorry!!!!!

My husband and I purchased tickets to see Rachelle Ferrell as a gift for our 2 favorite Auntie's who love her music. They traveled into the area from out of town for the event and stayed at a hotel ready to have a fun weekend in DC, that they both so deserved. Excited about the show they arrived at the venue with expectations of hearing and singing familiar songs/tunes that they love and perhaps even be introduced to some of her new work. Unfortunately, they were overwhelmed with music that no one was familiar with; extensive amounts of gibberish; talk/singing and very noticeably rude behavior that included her using profanity towards a displeased attendee who asked her to sing something familiar the crowd would know. In addition there was a lot of political rhetoric. I was sadden by their experience and thought it was necessary that I submit a review voicing my concerns. What was supposed to be a fun night for 2 women in my family that I love and adore, turned out to be an embarrassing waste of their time and my money. While my Aunties were both very thankful for the thoughtful gift, I am above and beyond displeased with the experience they endured. I hope Ticketmaster and the venue, the Birchmere will take this feedback into consideration when booking this artist again. Very, Very Disappointing!

1st love the venue!! Will definitely go back again. Now the Artist, I ve loved Rachelle Ferrell for years and always wanted to see her live. However, I am not sure what was happening on this day with her but the performance was awful. She sang maybe parts of 4 songs and rambled on about something \u2014 I honestly tired to follower her but I could not. Finally another fan became frustrated and screamed out her name. Sweet Baby Jesus, that sent her into a frenzy which she never recovered from. She ranted about it for over 20 minutes, name calling and all sorts of things. Throwing shade at other performers/artist. It was so disrespectful. 3rd - the band was the saving grace, they were great!!!!

Rachelle still has a great voice and is truly talented. However, the selection of songs she sang were horrible--rapping, poetry, beatboxing---no. This was not what I came for. It was horrible. The icing on the cake was when she totally disrespected the entire audience by responding to a heckler. One lady in the crowd yelled out something which, I really could not hear. Rachelle totally stopped the show to address this women. The woman said one line and then stopped yelling out. Instead of moving on, Rachelle continued to state disrespectful and inappropriate comments to the lady. She called the lady fat, used profanity and went on a range for more than 5 mins. This was most offensive for an evening out for grown and sexy people. Very disappointed. She acted like a crazy woman and I am surprised that the Birchmere allowed it to go on for so long.

Rachell is an artist in the truest sense of the word. She goes from raw to very polished talent in a matter of seconds. She seemed to have something on her heart and mind during this show. I am a fan, I had one of her songs sang at my wedding, and had seen her previously. These tickets were purchased by girlfriends as a bday gift, and I am sad to know that there efforts and money was wasted on this event. I have never had an experience like the one I had at the show on March 3rd. She was rude, unprofessional and the overall performance was less than expected. I was floored. Not only was she late but she only sang two songs that we recognized and not her hits. She spent most of the time preaching and screaming and even got into a verbal altercation with one of the audience members. She said she s retiring and I think it s a great idea. If you want to preach get a pulpit. If you want to be an activist get a peace sign and start marching . But if you ask me to buy a ticket for a concert, I expect you to sing. There was also a mixture of biblical references and F bombs. Wth? She owes everybody an apology and refund !!!

I thought I would really enjoy some good singing but was treated to a "conversation". She talked most of the show. Rachelle sang about three maybe four songs for the entire set. I am a big Rachelle Ferrell fan. Flat out the woman can sing! I had never seen her live and I so wanted to enjoy this concert, but it was terrible!!! Note: When she did sing actual songs (all of about 3 songs equaling 10 minutes, it was great). But the other 2 hours+ was her ordering a drink from the stage, speaking drunken "wisdumb" (typo intended), sound effects, coming into the audience hugging people for too long, letting people in the audience sing whatever they wanted to sing or preach (yes, Preach!), and turning down request for songs from the audience, telling them if they want to hear that "go home and press play". At the end it seemed as if she was just trying to stretch to fulfill her contracted performance time. I felt cheated, sad for her, and thinking sorry, I can't trust her again with my money. Guess I will have to stay home and press play...

From the minute she stepped on stage, something seemed off. She was only able to sing one or two audible songs and the rest of the time she was preaching about random thoughts that seemed to pop in her head, making up childlike songs, crying and stretching on stage, literally! It was so bad several people left early and I wasn t too far behind. Clearly she has a beautiful voice, but she needs professional assistance to help her deal with whatever she is going through. It was unfair for her to schedule a show when she was not prepared to give her best! I was there on Friday night. I was told her Saturday show was even worse than the Friday night show. After the show, I read a review on YELP and learned that this is not new behavior! Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me! I will NOT be going to another Rachel Ferrell show ever, even if someone else paid for it!!! A total waste of my time!!!! So very disappointed!!!

Very, very disappointed in the performance and appearance. Actually, there was no performance, only communion and tears. Ms. Ferrell is a performer! However, something must have been strongly bothering her on this particular evening. My husband and I departed the show early due to her sadness and listening to others in the theater taking the microphone. We did not spend our funds to hear other sing. She never song any of her songs that folks came to hear. It was a waste of money and everyone should receive a refund or the show should be rescheduled when she is prepared to perform.

I am a huge Rachelle Ferrell fan and was so excited to see her .....UNTIL..... Ms. Ferrell's behavior was that of someone affected by a substance other than alcohol. Rachelle Ferrell performed terribly. She was in and out of focus and spent most of her stage time speaking versus performing. If I had read other reviews prior to purchasing my ticket, chances are my date and I would never have gone. For the most part, we have been very satisfied with the shows at the Burchmere and this is the first time I have written a review because I felt I had to worn others. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!

Ms. Ferrell was all over the place in a spiritual, social, personal dialouge with the audience. Maybe performed 3 songs. Instead of performing her hits she would riff on whatever she was talking about. Told the audience to go home and "press play" if we had requests. Completely off balance, even her band looked confused.

The Birchmere should refund people's money for what was the worst performance I have ever witness. In fact, I did not stay I left about 1 hour into the show. I asked the Birchmere for a refund alone with several other members of the audience in which they said NO. Apparently she did the exactly same thing last year and for the Birchmere to know this in advance that she will be acting stupid and not singing but yet allow her to performance sell out the place should considered some of form of price gouging. I am requesting a total refund from you because I alone with several of other people work hard for our money and the service that I paid did not occur. I paid to listen to her sing and she did very little of that therefore I paid for a service and now I want my refund. I will never see her again!

I have seen Rachelle in concert at least three times and loved it! However, this last time 2/10/2018 in Atlanta, will be my last! First she came on the stage about 10 minutes late. Which wasn't that bad if it were not for the other mishaps! When she arrived on stage she looked like she forgot it was her concert...she looked like she had on pajamas and old sneakers. I have all of Rachelle's cds and love her music and her voice, however I only recognized two songs. She was on stage for at least 45 minutes, but I am not sure what she was doing. She made up songs, ad libbed and made sounds as if she was part of the band. Her concert felt more like we were at her rehearsal and they were having a jam session. I was a bit embarrassed because I had hyped her up so much to my husband. Don't waste your money!

Najee give a wonderful performance and we really enjoyed the selections from his multiple albums. Rachelle Farrell voice, range, and message is unparalleled to any other vocalist. I'm fan for life, but there was so many mishaps. Getting into the venue was a nightmare, the line moved extremely slow from the parking garage into the building. There were lot of problems the stage and sound. On top of the run down facility with it's multiple set backs that took time away from the artist, then Rachelle was rushed off stage. I will try not to attend a concert at this venue until improvements are moved.

The show started out with a bang, then it plummeted! It would've been nice to hear her sing the songs that made her famous i.e. her duet with Will Downing. Rachelle sang one song of which the audience sung along to, and the rest of the show was nothing more than her displaying vocal acrobatics and lengthy scants..Although, she is a vocal genius; even Al Jereau had enough sense to sing the songs his audience paid to hear. There's nothing wrong with introducing new songs in your show, but it would've been nice to hear those that made her famous. I digress. IN ADDITION>>>Najee's show was AMAZING!!! Most of his songs were recognizable and those that weren't sounded great! His band was very engaging and entertaining...Najee even included Bobby Lyle..Awesome...I Loved it! We must have him back. Yes!

I love the Mable House amphitheater and enjoyed the first acts (Jeff Lorber and Najee, and the MC Lightfoot was hilariously good!), but whatever Rachelle Ferrell is going through, I hope she gets help soon. The other reviewers hit on every comment I would also make. Very disappointing performance; but I will definitely return to the Mable House amphitheater. Great outdoor venue.

The positives: Jeff Lorber, Najeee and comedian were awesome. The Negative: Rachelle Ferrell was a major disappointment. Basically awful. She insulted the crowd, performed no recognizable songs, and did a set with her band. Did not care about the audience or the organization she was hired by. I was in shock at her lack of professionalism. She made up some disgusting song on stage, to us too bad that she already has our money and she will do what she wants. Just awful!!!

Great event, the host MC Lightfoot was an awesome comedic experience in between the mellow/ romantic mood of each performer. Najee was super awesome and Rachelle Ferrell is talented beyond the stratosphere. Lovely date night at a nice venue. Seating in covered area is great but table seating is best. Lawn seating is not recommended because of the steepness of the lawn.

I was very pleased with the other performers, but after Najee was on stage after 45 mins and was still performing I then wondered if Rachelle was going to be a no-show (she was a no-show at the Steel City Jazz Festival). Apparently she was late for whatever reason and we received no apologies. What we received were songs created on the spot with little to no lyrics but lots of vocal sounds. This is somewhat her trademark, but it was overdone. Her very last song at the piano was the Rachelle most was waiting to hear, but it was time for the concert to end (I assume vendor restraints)!!!!

I'd never attended an event there and didn't know to bring a blanket for the lawn, but it ended up being okay. I wish they would have sprayed so the flies would have been gone, but I'm glad they didn't bit. It was just annoying seeing them everywhere. The show started on time which was good. The opening acts were wonderful, but the main attraction left us hanging. I think we got three made up on the spot songs and one sang in a way that few people recognized. I thought she left the stage abruptly and wondered what happened. It seemed the opening acts gave more of the show. I was disappointed in people around me as one lady clearly not familiar with jazz artistry booed because of the improvisation. A few people left after the first two improv songs. When Rachelle was talking to the crowd and joked that we already paid a turned back and said see what I told y'all she doing whatever she wants to do. O loved what she did because I love her voice and didn't expect it to be the same as I could play at home, but I expected more selections. I don't know if she heard the heckles and called it a night or what. I noticed she was looking at her cell phone so I wondered if she got an unexpected message, but the opening acts made it not a loss. I'd come back for other jazz events though. I just know there are no consession stands and to be bring spray and a couple blankets.

I had been looking forward to this concert for months. Everything was going well including an outstanding performance by Najee. Unfortunately that's where the good news ends. Rachelle hit the stage and it was all downhill. She spent 15 minutes on a sound check and then did three more songs none of which were recognizable to the audience. Between making weird noises and telling us that she had our money already many of the audience left. At 10:30 she abruptly grabbed her cell phone and walked off the stage putting an end to a disaster us tonight. Never again will I pay to see her!

Every one on the ticket was good EXCEPT Rachelle Ferrell! She came on stage and did a ridiculous dance for the first 10-15 min. She looked like she was spazzing. Then for the remainder of her show she randomly sang random words and blamed it on being caught up in the moment. She sang "at" 2 of her songs and that was the end! She proceeded to tell the audience that we've already paid our money! Plus she kept drinking water during her set! Soooooooo unprofessional and showed me that she did NOT value the people spending our hard earned money to come and see her! People walked out and the only reason I stayed is because I just knew she was going to blow my mind with a strong finish... Wrong!!. I have been a fan for years and was really excited about seeing her live! I was and am absolutely disappointed and want ALL of my money back! It was a waist of my time and I will NEVER purchase her material again. She has lost a true fan! The only reason she has 1 star is so I can create this rating!

While I understand the microphone was not up to par initially Ms. Ferrell did voice olympics for 15 minutes. The other songs she attempted were unforgettable at best. Finally her comment that she was not performing/singing for us - but singing for herself was the last straw, we left. To think that we paid for tickets to see someone who only wanted to sing for herself?

The venue was very accommodating. All the acts prior to the main act, Ms. Rachelle Ferrell, were excellent. However, I was very/highly disappointed in the performance of Ms. Ferrell. It was like watching a train wreck. Initially, she did not perform as they could not get her microphone right to handle her high range vocals. Then when she did start to perform, she did not sing, she danced around, and the music was not recognizable. Then she became irate at the audience and advised she was performing off the crowd s energy! And she was just giving back what we were giving her. Then she stated you all have already paid, so what you gonna do about it. Well that was my cue to exit stage left from the audience, as my time, is much more valuable than money. I can get more money but I can t get back more time. So if she wanted to waste my time with a lousy performance, I was not going to sit for it! I left before it over. Very disappointed.

Opening acts were just ok. Lots of sound issues. Najee tried his best to do his thing but because of the sound problems the drummer overpowered everyone. Rachelle Ferrell was a hugh disappointment. She was either high, drunk, or both. She spent the first 15 minutes dancing erratically around the stage and basically exercising her voice. When people started to leave she decided it was time to actually sing one of her songs. She sat at the piano and began to sing something that vaguely resembled one of her songs. She stopped mid song and simply stared at the back of the stage. She then got up and appeared to look at her cell phone. She then simply exited the stage while singing and never returned. So in reality, she didn't even sing one complete song.

Najee was great. Something appears to not be quite right with Rachelle Ferrell. She still has her amazing vocals, but she is weird as hell. She freestyled /made up all but one song and she only sang about 4 songs. The audience left confused as to what had just happened. She really doesn't need to go on another tour until she gets herself together. The vocals were still amazing, but her performance was terrible and unstable at times.

Gave it 1 star to reflect the performance (the star rating is connected to the venue not the performer. The venue I would give a 4) Where do I start. First let me say that this venue is nice and cozy, would definitely see a show here again. Parking wasn't painful to get in and out of. Now for you the performances. I was under the impression that just Rachelle was performing along with the obligatory opening act. I was ok with the first band. They were a nice warm up, but then they brought out Najee, I was like. Why? I'm not a fan of him nor did I care to see ANOTHER opening act. Concert started at 7pm, it was almost 9pm before Rachelle performed. 2 hours listening to groups I didn't pay to hear or see. The small saving grace was MC Lightfoot, he was truly funny and I enjoyed him. Now to the disappointing concert given by Ms. Rachelle. She came onstage singing just word phrases due to the sound crew not having their act together and she was getting feedback and unbalance. I get that she was waiting for them to get it together. But after this initial "birdcall" singing, we, the audience were ready for some of Rachelle's classic and even any new music. No, we received word phrases, bird calls, and bodyjerks like a heroine addict fading from a good hit! Only one song was sung that anybody knew which was "Sister". People started leaving when she began her 2nd round of screeching. This was such a waste of my time. I'll stick to listening to her on YouTube.

The Mable House Venue is always wonderful! The Headliner, Rachelle Ferrell, was a total let down on Friday night - just awful!!! She came out dancing - she barely sung one recognizable song. The rest of her concert was scatting and a jamm session with the band. She was arrogant, not funny, when she stated to her fans, "already got your money, so now you will listen to me". Ferrell did not say goodnight to the crowd, she simply left the stage. This performance appeared to be an experience that only Ferrell enjoyed! I believe we (her fans) were all in shock as we left the venue. Whatever Ferrell is going through she should remain a professional - Ferrell should stop attempting to perform until she gets it together. She is a total disappointment to her fans, and she is also stealing their money for such a POOR performance. ALL other performances (Najee; Lorber; MC Lightfoot) were fantastic!!!

First Timer. Jeff Lorber was good and Najee was Very Good! Rachelle Ferrell .... not so much : ( My first time seeing either of them in concert and was somewhat disappointing with her being the headliner and not to do more than antics and "Barely" sang a snippet of one her songs and walked off; btw all of this only took about 40 mins. Was so looking forward since I just began to "get into" her music. But I guess like she said "We has already paid" so... basically she could do whatever she wanted (or not). She seemed medicated/intoxicated or high??? Not sure, just sorely disappointed. Praying for her, honestly. Will still listen to her music.
