Amazing! I believe many would appreciate this show, not just horse lovers. A great show for the entire family. My mother and sister both loved it too. No, these are not THE Vienna stallions, but they do the same maneuvers. The announcer explains all of the movements for those who are not as familiar with dressage/riding, so everyone knows what they are seeing. (Bit of advice: WATCH the capriole, don't try to photograph it, you really can't. Just watch it.) I do wish that there was more riding though and less of the announcer talking in between curtain falls. I would have liked to have seen more airs as well, but I realize it's very hard work for the horses (and riders). Even if you ride dressage, you don't get to see that level of horsemanship very often. I loved the Friesian toward the end as well, he was a fun, upbeat addition; everyone seemed to like him. Overall, a very stunning, beautiful, inspiring show--very much recommend it. Take your horse-loving daughter!

Great show! We caught the early show and the PanAm center was nearly empty. That was good because we got great seats. The horses went through their paces like pros and the lead horseman was a great showman, smiling and maintaining a charismatic poise through it all. Wonderful show of horsemanship. A different favorite moment was the little boy behind me describing the difference between a gelding and stallion to his little sister in detail.

We loved every minute of this fine performance. The Stallions and their trainers/riders were an absolute joy to watch. They really do appear to be dancing so effortlessly. I remember seeing the Lipizzaner Stallions for the first time about 30 yrs ago when I was a child. I was thrilled to be able to enjoy this event again with my own child. My 11 yr. old daughter is still raving about the show.

If you love horses and appreciate what goes into their training, you must see these horses. The only detracting factor was once we got there we realized that these are Lipizzaners kept in the US, although a few are purchased from Austria, the original site of this breed's history. A well-crafted and performed show - very professional and impressively traditional. One of the highlights for my sweetheart and me was the Andalusian stallion! Highly recommended!

Last night, my children and I attended the Lippizaner Stallions performance. It was our first time seeing the stallions. I do believe it will not be our last!! The horses were amazing. It was also great to see how the horses respond to their riders. These men and women are truly talented; you can see their love for the horses. I recommend this event to all ages. Truly regal...

I have seen this performance before and everytime I see it I am reminded what a beautiful, graceful animal the horse is. The program is narrated so the novice horse person understands all of the moves the horse and trainer make. A ballet on horseback~ A must see performance.

This was a fantastic dressage horse show but also a very interesting history lesson. They brought out a saddleless horse and explained how the markings established his family tree. The announcer also told us about their origins and how they were rescued during WWII and how they have even rescued 8 abused horses right here in the USA. After years of care, 2 of the 8 are in the show. This is a show for the whole family.

Fantastic animals! It is obvious that the horses are well cared for and that the riders all really love them and what they do. Troy, the MC was great. His knowledge of the history of the horses, the maneuvers, and the riders was impressive, and the way he shared with the audience was just perfect! (He sings great also!)

I have always had a love for these horses. I have five quarter horses and have always wanted a warmblood horse. In my opinion the Lipizaners are the epitome of the European horse and have such beautiful lines. I wish the Capriole had been a little better, but we did so enjoy the music and the riders were GREAT!!! I would highly recommend this show to any horse lover or family with children!! :) There were'nt many people there because of the game but the Saints won anyways!!!

This was the 3rd time I'd seen the Lipizzaner Stallions perform - the other 2 times were in South Africa many years ago. It was great to be around these beautiful stallions. However the "airs above the ground" which are ballet movements taught to horses - were pretty insufficient. It's as if the announcer was trying to make us believe they were great feats, and the horses just weren't well enough trained for "liftoff". I know folks who have seen this show in the past and said it was much better.

In addition to the beauty and talent of these amazing animals, the facts and history of the Lipizzaner breed that were given during the performance were fascinating. Closest that you can get to seeing these beautiful animals without flying to Vienna. Amazing performances by these horses. The show was put together for those not familiar with dressage, and that was well done. It progressed from the basics to the real impressive athletic feats of which they are capable. A great family event.

Beautiful animals!! What a pleasure to watch the animals and their riders ride to the music!!! Anyone who has any knowledge of horses....will appreciate the time and training these animals have had!! Only down side was the extremely high cost of popcorn....($5.00)....water...(5.00).....the program is $15.00----and all of the souvenirs were outrageous! But.....the show was great....just eat before you come and bring a bottle of water with you!!

The 1st half of the show is a little slow but educational if your not familiar with dressage. For a non-horse person or young children, they might be a bit bored during this half. The 2nd half of the show is amazing " Airs above the Ground" are shown. Awesome!! The remainder of the show was excellent. Overall, I would recommend. They are such a beautiful animal and well worth seeing.

The stallions are indeed beautiful horses and their movements are graceful. The "host" provides commentary and instruction so even the novice can understand what they are seeing. My daughter is the horse lover and is in to all the "dressage" etc. I wanted to watch them fly!! The show was heavy on the technical; and to me, light on the action. More leaps would have made it more enjoyable for me, but my daughter enjoyed it, and she is why I was there. Heck; if the horses could play cards it would have been more interesting to me, but obviously I am not the horseman/woman of the family.

It was not clear from the event promotions that this group were not the group from the Spanish riding school in Austria. The horses were beautiful and did display some great training but the show was nothing like what we saw when we went to Austria to see the 'real' group. Also, the bank of KY center only had very few concession stands open - so the lines were very long and there was no way we were able to get refreshments in time to get back before the break. They should have had more stands open.

Even a fair event with Lipizzaner Stallions is a good event. They were disorganized in the beginning and the lead rider was visibly upset in the beginning. The horses were not in sink as I had seen them in the past. YET... they are magnificent animals and their body is a work of art.

The Stallions are regal and elegant beyond belief. This show is every little girl's dream, and those of us who have grown up. The training and preparation that these altheletes go through is extra ordinary. They are definitely a world treasure. The only thing better would be to have one of the horses be able to be seen up close and to pet him. They are so gorgeous, you naturally want to reach out and touch. They are the best looking males I've seen in a long time. The lighting could have been a little better to see all the horses performing together at once.

LIPPIZANER STALLIONS ARE AMAZING. I WOULD LIKE THE SHOW TO BE LONGER, AND IT WOULD BE NICE TO BE ABLE TO GET CLOSE TO THE STALLIONS AFTER THE SHOW, BUT KNOWING THE HISTORY OF THE RIDING SCHOOL AND THE NEAR EXTINCTION of this breed of horse, it is really amazing to see. I hadn't seen the Lipizzaners in 30 years...the show was fabulous. I took my 7 year-old daughter. The horses are beautiful and they do a good job of explaining dressage, the history of the horses, their lineage and the "airs". Most people never get to see the Lipizzaner brands. One way to learn about history is to see in real life instead of reading it in books. These horses show us the history and how there are still people who care about the past and what happened. Keeping them safe would not be military personnel's first priority in the wars going on today.

I never tire of these awesome horses.....their history as told in Disney's movie...fills my heart always with love and tears that in the midst of war people from opposing sides worked together to save a common respected animal of history mutually loved. I also commend the Ticket Masters for the putting on line the pictures of the horses talents and abilities plus a few of the back home pictures. Also, the display of the Andallusions (sp?) ...which by the way....was the horse used in the Lord of the Rings....Beautiful Horses....How could they not be loved.

I saw the Lipizzaner Stallions years ago and thought the show was absolutely amazing, when I found out they were coming I was excited to get to see hem again. However, this time around I was disappointed to say the least. The lighting for one thing was distracting, I understand that they are trying to "spotlight" the horses but the spotlight was dim and barely kept up with the performers. Also I had expected to see more of the exciting things like "the airs above the ground". I love the horses and appreciate what they are trained to do but the show lacked the excitement factor. The sound was so loud the announcers voice was disstorted and I could barely understand what he was saying. I would not purchase tickets to see this event again.

The whole show took me back to my childhood and having my dad take me to see the Lipizzaner Stallions, and that was almost 50 yrs ago. I would recommend this event to anyone who is even vaguely aware of these horses. The announcer was informative, I was disappointed that their merchandise truck broke down (and I didn't bring my camera). I kind of wished there could have been like a "meet and greet" with the riders as well as the horses. But they all worked hard and everything was beautiful and "Tiburon aka Elvis" was a stand out! I went with my girlfriend and she is a horse fanatic. She grew up riding horses. For her it was a good show. She could appreciate the horsemanship and the horses themselves. By far the horse that received the most applause is a Non-Lipizzaner breed. If you are not a horse fanatic the show is somewhat disappointing. Seems like they do the same things in every vignette of the show.

The Lippizzaners show was not very interesting the animals appeared tired and bored. They did not seem to want to perform. I do not know if this is from preforming to much or what. The animals were beautiful but for some reason did not seem as graceful as I had thought they would be. The Black Duch horse was everything that I thought the Lippinzaner Stallions should be. He was a joy to watch!

Unfortunately, this show was not what I was hoping for. I have seen the Lipizzaner Stallions a few times, and this show was lacking compared to the other shows I have seen.

They only brought five Lippizzaner horses and they weren't matched very well in size; two of them had their tails braided and the others didn't; While these are not significant - it only served to magnify the loss of synchronicity in the multi-horse performances. The interior arena was too small requiring the riders to "single file" the turns and that threw off the precision moments. The classical music was fine for the adults and is traditional, but it put the younger audience to sleep. The "Airs" movements were also disappointing. I realize the Capriolet (sp) is incredibly difficult and I appreciated the effort the horse put forth to accomplish this movement, however the other positions were demonstrated just one time. Given how heavily these feats were promoted, myself and those around me were very disappointed. The highlight was the black Fresian "Tiburon". His fast paced performance to big band swing was exciting and entertaining to watch. Overall, not a good value for my money.

I'm a horse rider & lover. My mom has talked about seeing the Lipizzaner Stallions in San Fracisco back in the 70's and said they were amazing! I surprised my mom & took her to the show in Sacramento. We were extremely disaapointed. My mom said it was NOTHING like it was 30+ years ago. The performance was like watching an overpriced dressage show to classical music. My 3 year old who goes ballistic over horses even fell asleep half way through the performance and I wasn't far behind her. I won't be wasting a Saturday afternoon & $75 again. :(

Whether you are a horse fan or not, the Lipizzaner Stallions are a joy to watch. They have style, grace and rhythm. The crowd was surprised with a dressage demonstration by a Freesian Stallion named Tiburon who tore up the floor with his beat to the music from the Big Band era. What a delightful show, a rare treat for Sacramento.

Exceedingly poor. To see the real Lipizzaner stallions perform in Vienna is a breathtaking and almost numinous experience. This performance was a miserable attempt at Haute Ecole. The horses were white and probably mostly lipizzan but that is about as close as they came to presenting the unparagoned efficacty that earned the time honored status of an Austrian National Treasure. Any attempt from the mezair to the capriole(which after several pathetic attempts failed miserably.) left you with the feeling that your were watching the loading of a meat truck on the way to the dog food plant.

Excellent performance. A must see for everyone. Talented riders and horses. Informative announcer kept the audience engaged and interested. Delivered great facts about the history of the Lipizzaners and their trainer/riders.

I am not Horse Crazy. I did like some of the things the horses were trained to do, however I did not think this was spectacular. To be honest, the hype and advertising that preceded the event made me think it was going to be something fantastic! I would say that overall the experience for me was a let down. My wife did enjoy the event, and she Loves horses, so maybe my experience is "just a guy thing"

The first Lipizanner Stallion show that I saw many years ago had a huge cast of horses and riders -- part of the magic was watching the flawless execution of moves as these horses performed drills together. So it was with disbelief that the show I watched Sunday in Sacramento had only four Lipizzaner horses and riders! These horses were used throughout the performance and demonstrated not so much excellent training, but reluctance to perform, especially the "airs above the ground" which would have made an authentic Spanish Riding School student cry with shame. This cadre of horses and performers reminded me of the movie "Water for Elephants" -- it is a broke down little circus making the rounds of U.S. arenas. I recommend saving your money -- buy the Disney film "Miracle of the White Stallions" if you want your children to have a "Lipizzaner experience."

I thought the length of the show was perfect. I thought the MC was good. He was funny and I liked the things he explained. I thought the outfits of the riders' were nice. The horses were well trained and it was okay if they were "real" and refused sometimes to do things the first time. I was disappointed in the riding skills of the riders. The oldest rider was good and a couple of the girls, but there were two riders that were bouncing all over the place. I had gone thinking these were horses/riders were from the riding school in Vienna, you know like the real ones from the Austria, but I think not now. If you love horses and aren't particular about riding skill, you would think it was awesome.

The show was very good and made even more interesting because of the fact that 2 of the riders were from the local area. The horses were beautiful and elegant. The riding seemed effortless because the cues were very subtle. The show was made more interesting by the commentator's comments about the history of the Lipizzaners.

Loved it! A little disappointed in the turnout. Promoters should have stressed the fact that we had some local riders in the show. I was surprised to hear about it when they announced it.

The horses are amazing. They are everything we remember and will continue to remember. Such gorgeous animals of intelligence, strength and beauty. It is easy to see why they were in such demand in their "hey-day"! The horsemanship was spectacular and we enjoyed watching the dressage at all levels displayed. We loved the show and will cherish the memory. Please keep the Lipizzaner Stallions coming again and again. We will never tire of seeing them. Thank you!
