Could have been written a little stronger as story. But great singing and feels like a play that breaks out into a fun concert at times. If you appreciate Whitney Houston's singing you'll love it.

Wonderful show, a little disappointed Deborah Cox could not perform but many times singers voices can't handle the routine of theartical performers, her understudy voice was a bit soft at times, but I felt she truly channelled the spirit of Whitney. Jasmin Richardson, the sister, on the hand blew the showvoutbof the water and I was pleasantly surprised by the son's voice. The cast as a whole did an excellent job. Would definitely recommend it to others. Just remove Deborah Cox name from the billing.

It was was wonderful review of Whitney Houston's works. I did not think that Judson Mills was very authentic. He should have smiled more as Kevin Costner did. He seemed automatonic. But the work of the rest of the cast was evident. I wish them good luck on their tour.

I was skeptical about a musical version of this incredible movie and taking Whitney Houston's part is a lot to live up to, but I was wrong. This was an AMAZING production, with great staging, and great cast and Deborah Cox was absolutely incredible. I never stood still in my seat the Music was awesome, the songs were just superb and at the end of the show the entire audience was up on their feet clapping and dancing with the cast. It reminded me of when I first saw Dream Girls many a years ago. I would highly recommend this show! Koudos to the writers, choreographers and musicians and of course the cast!

The Bodyguard brought Whitney Houston back to life! Deborah Cox and the entire hard-working cast were wonderful. We did not expect the emotional jolt we received with every musical number, but welcomed the remembrance of an incredibly missed extraordinary voice. Entertaining from start to finish -- highly recommended.

If you did not have an opportunity to see this play...you missed out on something so wonderful and spectacular. This was absolutely an outstanding performance by Debra and the other cast members. The storyline and the musical performances kept me engaged throughout the production. This was definitely a 5 star performance.. I would unquestionably go and see it again, if it returns to the Chicago stage in the future..

I had seen this show in London with a different cast and really enjoyed it. This version which starred Deborah Cox was also very enjoyable. I probably would've raved more but I saw Hamilton last weekend . I saw Deborah Cox in Broadway's "Aida" years ago and she never .disappoints. The catalog of Whitney Houston songs on the show alone is enough to make it a must see !

Although the substitute cast did a fair job, the play was mediocre without the main cast. It is suspected that the major cast did not want to perform twice on a given day, which resulted in a second hand performance. The price did not cover a second hand show!

Wow...not sure where to even start with this hot mess! Firstly though let me give kudos to Deborah Cox - that woman has got the pipes and does Whitney justice...BUT this show is just a mess; the acting is absolutely some of the worst I have ever seen - sadly, Deborah included. The dancing is equally pathetic. The show so shamelessly exploits the Whitney catalogue of music to no avail. Whitney would not be proud. The story line is extremely weak - and at one point almost entirely skips over the fact that an integral murder occurs to a major character (one of the few who actually acted and sang well). The young man who plays Fletcher is out of his range in the acting spectrum - he was overacting and over-singing his part which was clearly above his vocal range. Perhaps the worst part of the show were the little snippets of the stalker/murderer appearing for a brief few seconds onstage in spotlight in ridiculous poses and even worse actions. It came off as sadly humorous instead of horrifying! The supporting characters: her publicist, manager, etc. were probably some of the worst actors I have ever seen - and I've seen ALOT! I cannot recommend this show to anyone - especially Whitney fans - it desecrates her memory.

It was cute, but the understudy for Deborah Cox was mediocre so that made the entire show disappointing. Meanwhile, the actor who played the sister totally outshined the understudy & was amazing so it was even more disappointing because I kept wishing she was the one filling in for Deborah Cox. The storyline put to a musical needs strong vocals to hold up -- the lead's songs are what would make this production-- and sadly, it just didn't have it. Hopefully, others had a better experience with the true lead present.

It was really fun to hear the music but the we did not know until we opened the play bill that Debra Cox was not playing the lead and no t singing at all! The girl who played the lead was a poor choice........her voice was great don't get me wrong but it was not anywhere near Whitney. The girl who played her sister had the much better voice that resembled Whitney. Most disappointed that on a Friday night the lead singer Debra Cox was not in the play. It why we bought the tickets.

The story is lacking but that's not why you should see this musical. Go for the musical numbers! The dancers were fantastic and Deborah Cox was simply amazing!!! Her talent is undeniable. She truly captures Whitney's essence while standing her own greatness. The play had it's suspenseful moments and funny moments. It IS entertaining... just not the best musical you'll ever see. The cast was excellent! Deborah Cox sang Whitney Houston's songs beautifully, which is no easy task. I loved how they tied in some of Houston's songs that were not from the movie soundtrack into the plot of the play. The singing, the acting, the dancing were all excellent. I only wish they were showing this for longer. I would probably go back and see it again. I also thought the play did a good job of developing some storylines that may not have been as well developed in the movie, perhaps because they changed the plot somewhat.

From the first moment of the production, The Bodyguard grabbed my attention and didn't let go throughout the show. The lighting, pyrotechnics, dancing, acting & singing were thoroughly entertaining. There was tension on stage, interspersed with humor. "Frank" was adorable & his facial expressions were endearing. The fact that the role is one of a non-singing lead in a musical was not a negative, in my opinion (I disagree with a well-known critic). I think his tough guy character would have been altered, had he suddenly broke into song. Plus, the scene in the karaoke bar was one of my favorites. At the end of the show, the audience left smiling, feeling good, and talking about how much they had enjoyed the show.

I was expecting so much more seeing that Deborah Cox was starring in this production. I know that she can really sing but I felt that she was really holding back. It's hard to do Whitney but I thought she could pull it off. She didn't. She looked really thin and her acting wasn't that good. The overall play was just ok. Not impressed.

The actress that played the part of Whitney did an amazing job. You can truly tell she put in ALOT of work to perfect her craft of portraying people in stage plays and her voice was phenomenal. BUT, I feel tricked at the fact of NOT being informed that Deborah Cox would not be performing all the shows, including mine. I feel that was a HUGE let down considering that was our MAIN reason of attending, buying the best seats, adding on suite service and simply going all out to enjoy the show from DEBORAH COX. But then, to have that taken from you without your knowledge is truly unfair. I love the bodyguard, but I was even more excited to be seeing it played by Deborah Cox, every since she did the voice for Whitney's Bio on lifetime tv, and I did not get a choice in not attending because of not knowing the main character would not be performing. I feel as though that was very distasteful on Broadways behalf and very deceptive especially for people like myself who made a nice little trip to this show to see Deborah Cox. My suggestion for people who plan to still attend, call the box office before purchasing your ticket to verify that Deborah Cox would be in your musical line up. And again, I in no way want to discredit all the amazing work of the other actors, you all were amazing. I just feel Broadway should have informed people.

The Bodyguard features capable singing and dancing which are the most enjoyable parts of the show. This should really be why you come, anyway. The plot is confusing, threadbare, incoherent, and the dialog forgettable to laughable. Wooden acting doesn't help, but these actors and actresses didn't have much to work with. Song and dance numbers sometimes start spontaneously with no lead-in or build-up like a normal musical. If you go, mentally check out of the plot and just enjoy the tunes. Just a word of warning, there are some gunshots during this show.
