This was awesome. It was a small little area that made you feel like you were in a room with Justin having drinks. He explained some background to his songs and life and there was audience interaction and he did a signing afterwards and was able to talk to each and every person there. He truly is humble and a great many rock stars and/or bands could learn from him! Lets get him on the radio to take over the USA guys!

What a fantastic event. Justin does well on his own so Blue October fans you are not getting less from a Justin only event. Very intimate, honest and very open book approach. Learn the stories behind the music and how the songs originally sounded in Justin's head. Also don't be scared away based in his last album because Justin is in a great place and it shows on stage. One of the best shows!

Justin Furstenfelds Open Book Tour is probably the best music event I have ever seen. Justin has never sounded better! As a huge Blue October fan, I wasn't sure if I would miss the rest of the band, but This was Justin's night! From the intimate venue to the simple yet lovely staging, this could not have been any better! His music has touched so many, and he let all of us know just how much we touch him too! If the concert wasn't enough, after the show, he sighned autographs in the venue lobby for over an hour! What a class act! I hope all music lovers can catch Justin and Blue October at some point. You will be better for the experience! I am a fan for life!!

I wasn't sure what to expect because when I bought the tickets I wasn't paying any attention and thought I was seeing Blue October. Justin singing acoustically and telling stories about his albums and his life was simply amazing. He answered personal questions from the audience. His voice is just beautiful and you can tell he loves his fans. It was one of the best musical events I've ever seen.

So charismatic, such a natural story teller, plays acoustic guitar beautifully and has one of the strongest, most unique singing voices out there. Really enjoyed him opening himself up like he does and layering it with such great, meaningful songs, will never miss him or his band when they come to town.

Justin Furstenfeld put on an amazing show! I have followed Blue October for 15 years, so to be able to be there and hear Justin tell his "story" and journey through words and music, was incredible! You could feel his emotions as he was sharing with us. I have never gotten emotional at a show as I did at this one. He was sure to put humor in it as well, which brought out lots of laughter from the crowd. He sounded amazing and the setting venue helped carry his voice so we all could hear. We could only find seats near the back, and even though we couldn't really see him, we could still hear him...even when he wasn't at the microphone. The hard metal chairs made it difficult to be comfortable and three days later, my back is still hurting from them but Justin made it all worth it.

I saw Blue October in The Woodlands over the summer, which was my first time seeing them live, and they were amazing. I have been following Blue October and Justin on social media for awhile and I just think he is awesome in sharing his story of recovery with others. He is inspiring #peoplecanchange. But, seeing Justin in this very intimate setting at the Jefferson Theatre in Beaumont was something I will never forget. He told his story from the time he was 16 to the present with acoustic versions of his songs mixed in between. He is definitely a great story teller. The show was 3 hours! 3 hours!!!! And you never would have know it. I could have sat there another 3 hours just listening to what he had to say not to mention his beautiful voice when he sings. AMAZING sums it up. I signed up for the meet and greet before the show so I got to meet Justin and got his autograph and a picture with him to seal the night.

I was instantly hooked! First off, Justin looks as amazing as his vocals sound. He came off as very real and relatable. His story pulled at my heartstrings, yet he owned up and failed to play the victim card, which I absolutely respect. The show and personal engagement was worth 3xs the amount paid. I have a newfound love and admiration for him.

Justin's music is on another level, the experience i had at the open book tour was like nothing i ever experienced. It was just me and my buddy, he had never heard of Justin and I told him trust me lets go to the Duck room in Saint Louis and watch this. After leaving he looked and me and thanked me and said that was eye opening and life changing. I couldn't agree more. Was truly the best show I have ever been to and next time i go i'm bringing everyone i know to experience this man.

My wife and I went. It was a very small room which made it much better. The sound was fantastic. I really liked that the venue was real clear with the rules. They threw people out that were being loud and disturbing everyone around them. Justin told the stories behind many of his songs. I would highly recommend this to true fans of Blue October. If you are a causal radio fan you should probably skip it.

The format of the open book shows is very intimate and personal. Justin tells stories, answers questions and plays several acoustic songs for 2 hours. Tori Vasquez opened for Justin and played for about 30 minutes. I had heard one of her songs before but it was nice to experience some of her other songs in an semi-acoustic format. After the show Justin came out to the Merch booth and signed autographs and shook hands. He is very appreciative of his fans. If I get the opportunity again I would definitely see the show again. The only disappointing part was the HOB bouncers did not kick enough people out of the show for being loud and obnoxious. We had a very drunk guy in front of us that kept yelling out during the show and really took away from the experience.

I have been a HUGE Blue October fan since 2006 and their live performances get better with each tour. Justin's Open Book Tour is no exception. His voice is so much stronger and he seems more comfortable on stage and with fan interactions. The venues for this tour are smaller & much more intimate. Since this was the last date for this Open Book Tour he did mention he will be doing a similar tour later down the road. If you have the opportunity to see this show, it is well worth it.

The night was great, such an intimate show, personal stories that just make you feel even closer to one of your favorite artists, the acoustic songs were an added plus. I absolutely loved everything about Justin Furstenfeld's An Open Book Tour, and to top off an amazing night there was a nice little signing at the merch booth by Justin Furstenfeld and Ashley Stone after the show. Having my favorite artist tell me that my hair color is bad ass has assured that I keep this color for awhile. Lol. I'm so glad to have captured some videos and photos so I can always remember this night, it's definitely the best night of my 2015 summer.

I have seen Blue October at least 6 times & I don't recall a show where Justin was this in tune with the entire experience of his show. He was honest, funny, intimate, raw, brilliant. I laughed. I cried. I sang. Most importantly, I walked away with a sense of friendship with Justin. He let us in on some of the darkest parts of his past. You truly get to know Justin in the 2 hours he's on stage. He does a wonderful job of taking you on a journey of the bands beginnings to where he & they are at present day. I have never encountered an artist with as much love for their fan base as Justin. I would see him in this format over & over again...simply amazing.

I definitely came for the music. When I heard it would be an hour of music with an hour of talking, I did the large eye roll then looked at my husband said 'why!'. Well, I was pleasantly surprised. Justin's story was very interesting and he is a great story teller. It was like watching a really good musical on Broadway, but with just one guy and a guitar. The small venue experience is always my favorite. Great show! Definitely go if you are a fan of Blue October.

This man, he takes my breath away!! He sings with not just his voice but his heart and entire being! I have been to several Blue October concerts but this was my first Open Book. It's just Justin, a mic and his guitar. Completely raw and vulnerable. You hear songs you've probably heard in the past. You hear them in a new light full of powerful emotion. You won't come away with the same "workout" like you would with a Blue October concert but you're sure to leave with an emotional drain and a calm that stays with you for days!!

I have been to hundreds of concerts and have seen at least 1,000 bands live. I have never seen a more engaging and powerful performance. To be walked through a troubled life in the matter of 2 hours was amazing. There is nobody in the music industry that can make you feel his pain quite like Justin. This is also the only show in which I knew there was no encore. The end was so powerful and emotional, I was ready to go home and reflect. Truly unforgettable.

By far the deepest, most emotionally moving concert event I've ever been to! The intimate setting was fabulous; the crisp clarity of Justin's voice, with all its raw emotion was awe-inspiring, and the story he told, the story of his life, with all its ups and downs and honest answers to fan questions made this night one of the most memorable moments of my life. Best of all, hearing the story of Justin's journey to sobriety and spiritual transformation had me in tears more than once during this show!

The show was OK, but he takes many great songs and slows them down to half speed and is just laying them on an acoustic guitar. The result is a poor reflection of the real songs. The commentary he gives between each song is interesting but it really shows how self centered and over emotional most artists are. Worst of all was the crowd. Several "fans" felt the need to shout out answers or comments while Justin was trying to talk. Very annoying. So bad that the rest of the audience was telling them to shut up. Especially bad was this fat loser behind us named Theresa.

This concert was nothing short of amazing. Being just an acoustic evening it allowed Justin to really connect with the audience on a personal level. He even read a few pages from his book and gave you a little insight into his thoughts as he wrote some of the songs Blue October fans know and love. And, lets face it, Justin gave an experience worthy of Justin. If you're a fan, I wouldn't miss this one for the world.

Blue October has to be one of the most underrated bands in the business! That is largely due to their frontman- Justin Furstenfeld. Justin is a brilliant song writer. The words he chooses and how he uses them- blows me away. My fist will always be in the air for him and Blue October. This show was an intimate look into a few of their songs and was coupled with entertaining stories that expained them a little bit. He also read from his book Crazy Making- which I'm glad I got a few years ago and became familiar with. Justin is amusing and heartfelt. I am a fan.

Being able to listen to a great songwriter speak about how songs came about is ALWAYS a treat - and this was all the show was, just an insight to his mind and soul. Not every artist can do this, but for Justin it was natural. The stories were great and inspiring and the song were even better with single guitar and his voice. If you have a chance, go!

I have gone to 4 Blue October concerts and they have all been amazing. This event was different than any of the other concerts, because of the intimate setting and it only being Justin on stage, the audience was let into Justin world. The audience was quiet and felt all that was happening as Justin talked about it. Any fan would appreciate this experience and love the evening learning about the origin of some songs and life of Justin during that time. Justin love his fans and treat this experience like he is speaking to his friends and always makes sure his fans know what they mean to him.

I've been trying to think of what to write about my evening with Justin Furstenfeld for the last few days since the concert. I've tried to explain to my friends how deeply moving this experience was, how personal it was...but no matter how hard I try, labeling it escapes me. Justin is a very down to earth man. He doesn't try to hide the struggles that he's experienced in his life, so he tells his stories through his music. As someone who also suffers from a mental illness, his words speak to me in a very profound way. His many and varied struggles, his blessed and private moments...his life, is presented in such a way that you can't help but admire him. His life has helped me make sense of my own. Go to this concert, if you miss it go to a Blue October gathering. You won't be disappointed and you'll leave the venue speechless as I did.
