We flew from Chicago for this show and it did not disappoint. The cannery casino venue was nice and different. The front portion was inside and the back was actually outside. We were in the 2nd row and could see really well.The show started on time and the acts were really good. JJ Jimmie Walker from Good Times was the MC and kept us laughing in between the acts. Harold Melvin & Bluenotes had a lot of energy and kept it lively. The delfonics were also good and had personality. The Stylistics closed it out and were great as always. The crowd was engaged and they sound fantastic.

Each act put on an excellent show. They were professional in every sense of the word and in tune too! So often we see these groups struggle to maintain the sound we have come to expect, but the groups that performed that night left no expectation unturned!

The Soft Tones came out first and had everyone on their feet, singing songs that some of had forgot about. Next the Manhattans featuring Gerald Alston. They were the highlight of the show. Everyone was screaming and singing along and Gerald Alston sang "A Change is Gonna Come" he brought tears to our eyes. He tore that song up. I could have gone home after that, that man can sing, and he put 150 percent of himself into the song (God Bless him). and last the Stylistics came out and a a few lines from a number of their songs because they have so many. The tributes to Michael Jackson had everyone on their feet. It was a great concert. It felt like a big family reunion

The concert was simply AMAZING!!! I wish our young people could have been there to witness TRUE musicianship and singing. It was great going back down memory lane. It was also a SOLD OUT concert! We need more shows and singers like the Stylistics and the Manhattans. Thank you for bringing them to D.C.

I can't believe the Manhattans didn't close the show. I got up and walked out halfway thru the Stylistics act. But after seeing Gerald Alston sing his heart out I felt like I got my money worth. One star without the Manhattans.

I really appreciate the Carter Barron putting on a show that was both entertaining and inexpensive. All three groups that participated were very good and did an outstanding job presenting their music to the audience. I definitely received my money's worth and would go to their show again if presented at the Carter Barron or anyplace else if the price was right. It is rare nowadays to get good entertainment where you don't have to pay an exorbitant price for seats that are not very good. The fact that it lasted more than the usual 1 1/2 hours which appears to be the standard now with many shows was a plus. The sound system was excellent and there was really not a bad seat there. I enjoyed listening to many of the old tunes that was and still is part of my life.

We got an extra bonus as the softtones opened up the show. They were amazing and sang songs that I had forgotten about. So they definitely got the night off to a good start. The Manhattans followed them and the night for me got better. They sang all of my favorite songs and their stepping to each song was amazing. It is wonderful that they still have what it takes to make great performers after all these years of performing. By the time the Stylistics finished I felt that I gotten more than my money worth.

First of all the atmosphere was jubilant from the start to the finish of the concert. I am an old school girl and the Stylistics not only had the place jumping, but I was up dancing and singing with just about every song that they sang in front of my seat, and often time I was seat dancing and finger snapping. If anyone came to the concert low in spirit; the Stylistics immediately lifted their spirit with a favorite oldie rendition. I enjoyed the concert with 2 friends of mine. I am looking forward to seeing the Stylistics again real soon.

The Stylistics were excellent when singing their "oldies but goodies." The best of the night was a medley consisting of three of their best hits. I only wish that they would have done them separately and longer (like the original versions).

I felt like I had died and awoke in the 70's!!!! They sounded just like they did back then! Which is huge because when I tried to get my uncle to go with us he said that everytime he tried to go to see one of his favorite 70's groups, he was always disappointed because they didn't sound the same. But OMG! I called him from the concert and let him listen to them perform Betcha Bye Golly Wow! He was so upset that he wasn't there! I would go to see them again, anywhere!

The truth is that the headliner, The Stylistics remain polished with a good band and team. The other groups needed a quality sound man as many of the lead vocals from the ChiLites, Dramatics and especially the Manhattans were not clear or audible. I attend the show every year and for the first time was very very disappointed with an act's performance, The Manhattans. Please bring back all quality acts. I would enjoy fewer good, quality, polished acts with good sound.

The show was missing many main stars that either had past away or no longer with the group this made the concert lose it's punch I believe that the venue should be inside to improve the harmony that those groups had in the 70s'. Most of those guys in the group have picked up weight and you are able to tell that they do not practice very often. I was slightly disappointed

THE GOOD: The Stylistics were very good, nice harmony, class act. The Dramatics were enjoyable also. The Humphry's venue was pleasant. THE NOT SO GOOD: The Chi Lites and especially the Manhattans were not very good. Nice effort, but the music fell short. Host Jimmy JJ Walker was awful as a host and fill-in between acts. His over hyping the acts and attempts at comedy were annoying. Complete silence would have been better. I've attended lots of "oldies" concerts and this one ranks near the bottom. I honestly wish I could recommend this show, but I just can't with so many other options for your entertainment dollar.

This is the second time that I have seen this show, and this time everyone was almost excellent because no one tried to rap. (If we want to hear that all we have to do is turn on the radio). My only problem was the fact that a group like New Birth did not have any horn section, when I know that I, and many other people went expecting to hear the powerful horn lines that they know and love. Other than this issue and the missing "Main Ingredient", this show was perfect, because in spite of these inperfections, I totally enjoyed this show, and so did my date who at the end of the weekend had the following comments: "This is the best Mother's Day that I have ever had in my life". But as I bragged about and expected, the Stylistics really closed out the show with a bang. I love this reincarnation of the old Stylistics and will continue to support them and "Old School" period.

The acts are old and not worth watching - listen to their prior performances instead. And I am a fan of them all and the genre. The Stylistics were great and worth the show - but not worth sitting through 2 hours of mediocre to bad performances. The opening acts were not good - out of tune, sloppy choreography and ill fitting costumes. Way too much time between acts setting up stage and band and too much audience interaction. It was a three hour show that should have been under two hours.

It ain t fair, the dramatics and stylistics haven t lost their great voices or their steps,unbelievable show from start to finish,we travelled from Alabama to Chicago to see these guys because unfortunately they aren t closer, was well worth it and we look forward to doing it again next year. I love the music of the 60 s and 70 s, it s what I grew up on. Yeah, those cats (like me) are more mature , more seasoned but the music lives on. I ll take it how they present it with open arms and without complaint. All I listen to is dusties so I m glad to see and hear those cats singing songs from what I believe was the greatest era of R&B and Soul (Black) music. I m going back to see them (or whomever) again next year.

These groups continue to perform outstanding with changes in their line-up. I was very pleased with the additions made with the Chi Lites and the new lead with the Stylistics. As always the RJ Reynolds and the Dramatics' performed as professional. I would suggest that the Delfonics make some changes to their group by adding another lead to hit the high notes. William Hart can then become the first tenor. As for Carl Carlton, what can I say, one song was enough

Another "Oldies" Concert. All the groups were absolutely phenomenal. Brought back so many memories. The surprise was the "New Lead Singer" for my absolute favorite group, Stylistics, (Dells was my #1). I must admit their new lead did a fantastic job on the songs, I can't wait until the next time. You just can't find music/performers like these old groups anymore.

The 70's show at the Chicago Theatre wasn't up to our expectation. Carl Carlton was terrible, the Delfonics was terrible. We only enjoyed the Chi-lites & the mighty Dramatics. The Venue didn't allow you to dance & that sucked.

the dramatics was great as usual, there is a new lead for the stylistics he is ok they should just get back together with the lead singer instead of just trying to replace his voice, the Chilites were also good didn't like the song choices but good. the delphonics were ok. I like the other brother's group better.

My dad used to play the Stylistics all the time when I was younger, that is how I got into them. Loved the show, brought back a lot of memories. They mentioned they play at Mt Airy every year, and I would go to see them every year if possible. The hall was small enough that there really was not a bad seat.

I enjoyed the 4 hour show. I would reduce it to 4 Groups as opposed to 5. 4 hours is a long time to sit behind an idiot who used her cell phone the whole show. Bright lights from the cell , filming the entire show, taking selfies and using the cell light to eat her food. Sending text messages. A total disregard to the show and the people who came to see it. She could have stayed home. The guy sitting next to me spent his time texting his grand kids!!! I wish the Fox had Security to monitor the use of Cell Phones. Make an announcement before the show not to use them during the show at all or thrown out.

The Stylistics were AMAZING!!!! Their performance was first class to perfection! I could not believe all the hits and songs that brought back so many wonderful memories way back then. I absolutely loved the smooth dance moves while they slayed us with their voices. The show deserved more than 5 stars!

Loved seeing the hometown Philly boys play those oldies from my childhood!! Mahalo for coming to Hawaii to visit~ you are welcome back ANY time! Wonderful concert however I wish the attendees had left their mobile phones at home and taken in the concert, rather than spending the entire time recording! Quite RUDE and a distraction. The venue should have reminded these folks before the performance, and perhaps kicked them out after being asked once to put them away~

The show was spectacular. Have not had so much fun in a long time at a show. the moves and the voices were the same as I remember them from so many years ago. The music they presented brought back so many fun memories. The musicians of today have a lot to learn from these gentlemen. They did not have to scream, use foul language, or wear scanty clothing or provocative moves to get their music heard or appreciated. These men just have TALENT! They connect with their audience with their music, and their beliefs, and great personalities. Loved the GOD IS GOOD cheers I heard that night from them and the audience. God bless the Stylistics and congratulations on 48 years of giving us the best music on the planet! As we say in Hawaii, You Da Best!

We loved the Stylistics concert. It was an awesome show. We loved the songs they sang and they pretty much sounded like their album.....ooops! meant CD. Lol! We loved the way they move. You know, they sing songs that have true meaning to it. Not like some songs now days, you can't understand what they are saying. But hey, to each his own, you know, everyone has their own liking to music. And the Stylistics are definitely our kind of music. Every moment of the show was Awesome. But one of my favorite moments that really touched my heart was when the Stylistics sang "Let's Put It All Together." There was a couple sitting by us. When the song started, he grabbed the ladies hand, kissed it and held it until the song was done. I thought that was soooooo sweet. That just goes to show how the Stylistics effect our heart and feelings. Awesome and Unforgettable show! Can't wait for the Stylistics to come back again!

Everything was awesome. Some current members may not be the original one's that doesn't matter, just watching them sing and perform the oldies but goodies takes you back to those moment growing up singing and dancing everytime you hear their songs played over the radios. Reminiscent of the good times we enjoy the real music back then , just listen soooooooooo simple but goooooood time.

we have loved this group since we were dating and when we had the opportunity to go see them we did. it was a birthday gift for my husband and we were not disappointed. they sang like it was 40 years ago.

I spent the evening,under the clouds,captivated by the star performances on stage. The 70 Soul Jam was everything a true soul music lover could asked for. Not to be deterred by the weather, the groups performed at such a high level, it turned the evening into a two hour sing-a-long of all of their classic hits.The special moments are too many to list, noting that every moment was SPECIAL!!! I recommend this concert to anyone who loves soul music. Thank You for a WONDERFUL NIGHT!!!!

Each act was very good and sang their songs with purpose and desire. Even at their age, each performer gave it their all and danced with energy throughout their performances. Mr. Brown, former lead singer of the Softones, filled in nicely for Wil Hart while singing lead for the Delphonics. I will attend again. However, security needs to be much tighter because people were coming to the stage and standing in front of those with front seats blocking their view and others as well. Inconsiderate! Very unprofessional!

The Stylistics and Delfonics were great and sang all their hits but Harold Melvin's Blue Notes were the evening's best group. Don't miss them if you get an opportunity because who knows how long the great "Big Daddy" can continue singing lead vocals.

The Soul Jam concert was great the performers were the best and also MCJimmy JJ Walker was the best too. Would recommend this Soul Jam to anyone that enjoys music and good enterrtainment . Would be at Citizen Bank next month to see next performence of next Soul Jam I hope everyone enjoyed to concert and performers like i did. Thank Raul.

All of the bands were fantastic -- they all sounded incredible and were very audience friendly -- really loved the concert!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only thing I would recommend is not letting people get by the stage -- we had front seat tickets and people kept coming up and standing in front of us. Thought security should have taken care of this more than they did.

The show was better than I thought it would be !!!! It was my first time at this venue, and our seats were AWESOME! It was a girls night out ,so to be there with folks that can relate to the songs made it even better:) The show started on time and was great from the opening act until Dennis Edwards and the Temptations left the stage .

The Stylistics were the bomb, id pay to see them again. Their dance moves were great and they had excellent precision. They sang mostly all their songs and they sound just like the original group. WOW what a show! They made the Temptations look bad, no disrespect to theTemps but the Stylistics stole the show. Great job guys!

I thought the show was fantastic from start to finish. The ChiLites kicked it off and it was good to see Marshall back performing. Then my all time favorite group the Stylistics were great from start to finish. There songs are so so so good and they sounded great. Then Dennis Edwards & The Temptations close it out. They were good too and very high energy. My favorite song from them was My Baby I love that song I remember it back in the day. Great show felt I definitely got my money's worth. Love the Venue for concerts.
