I surprised my partner with amazing seats for Mary Poppins which was her favorite movie as a child. We had a wonderful time! Could have sat through it again back to back! :)

Mary Poppins doesn't disappoint! It is a feel good show that leaves you with a smile on your face. I took my two Granddaughters and their Mothers who all grew up watching the movie. We all really enjoyed it. I also recommend reviewing the educational information. Even if the children don't get a chance to go over it, they'll think your a genius for your explanations and correlations of many of the acts and characters!

Overall first rate performance. I'm getting more like Crankshaft as the years go by and reluctantly agreed to go with my wife who is still involved in accompanying for high school musicals. I was blown away by the great set designs and staging effects. As an engineer I really appreciated the "repair" technique in the kitchen scene. Of course, the singing, dancing and acting were top notch -- so much so that this old guy had to wipe away the tears on more than one occasion. When we came home I immediately checked the BWAM website to see if the show was going to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area for our daughter and grandkids to see, but alas it isn't.

The Show was really Awesome. My seat was HORRIBLE.. I had a big Light stand blocking my view of the center stage. I ended up having to sit in the other seat so I could see and hold my 9 year old daughter in my lap. They should really let people know before purchasing this seat. It was not even the "Cheap Seats". I will know what seat NOT to get next time!!!

Its a shame they don´t have earlier functions for children, after all its them who enjoy this particular musical the most. I took my five and they all fell asleep towards the end, it was to late but I did not want them to miss it!

Everything about the show was terrific; the songs, the orchestra, the set, the characters, etc. The effects were spectacular (walking on the ceiling and flying) and the energy of the cast flowed into the crowd to provide an extremely entertaining evening. The show was a good mix of the Disney movie and the book. Some of the songs were revamped for the stage and some new songs were added (some better than others, but beautifully sung). "Practically perfect in every way!"

None of my friends or family wanted to see this show. They thought it was outdated. After searching thru ticketmaster I found a single front row seat and went alone. I have seen hundreds of plays - some even on Broadway - and this one ranks up there as one of the BEST. The songs, the sets, the actors --- all amazing. Combine that with the special effects and a live world class orchestra and you have a left a permanent stamp on my memory! I've already downloaded my favorites songs from itunes. If I could afford it - i would see it again before it finishes its Detroit run. What a great show!

Step in Time was incredible! I tap so I know how hard it can be to stay in sinc with the whole performance. Loved Supercalafragalistic......... So glad that they include that in Curtain Call, it just pours out the emotion of the whole show.

Four generations of us attended Mary Poppins and I cannot say who enjoyed it more! From an 80 yr. old to a 6 year old we LOVED Mary Poppins. What a show! Throughout the entire show we were mesmerized. The music, dancing, singing and acting was phenominal. The time flew by and all of us left happy and singing! I HIGHLY recommend Mary Poppins! It was a time for adults to put their troubles aside and escape to a happy place, while learning life's lessons that are sometimes forgotten!

The show was very good....not quite the Disney movie with Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke, but still good. The story line works for our modern times these days too. Family stories are always a great theme..I really liked how they made the house come and go. It was so well put together you never heard or saw anything even shake on it. They really did a wonderful job with the flying and walking on the wall. I would go again if I had the time....

This stage production was truly a wonderful performance for all ages. Every single person on the stage gave 110% and the end result was a very entertaining, professional stage production that made everyone in the audience forget all their cares and escape into the magic of Mary Poppins. This was worth the cost of the tickets, the drive and all the time it takes to plan an event attendance with children because Mary Poppins makes us all "Believe in the Magic"!

This was a family event. And we were all excited about going to see this show. And in the days before the show we kept hearing how good this show was. On the day of the show one of my friends went to see it with Her little girl at an earlier show. When the show was over She text me and she could not rave enough about the show. Our expectations were fulfilled and more. This is not only a broadway show it is a Disney Broadway show. It is just wonderful. It is the movie and more. The music is excellent.

My Mom and I took my niece to the Fox for the first time last night to see Mary Poppins! We all had a magnificent time. My niece was mesmerized from the moment she saw the theatre until the final curtain. This was a fabulous show with creative moments that took your breath away! The sets and costumes worked well and scene changes were done seemlessly and cleverly. The performers were all spit-spot and high energy and truly looked like they were having as much fun as the audience. The only negative would of had to of been the slight problem hearing/understanding some of the time. Part of this was due to the fact that the British accents were very heavy and the young boy who played Michael talked a little too fast at times. But, all in all, an absolute charmer of a musical!

My daughter & I had SO much fun last night! I have loved "Mary Poppins" since I was a child, & I was certain a Broadway show would pale in comparison. Quite the contrary! I have never been as disappointed in any Broadway Show. Only a few of the original songs were performed and they were changed.......why would anyone think improvement could be made on originals - duh!! Singers were NOT Broadway quality. Entire performance was slow and boring. Couldn't wait to get out of Orpheum and sure wish had my money back. Extremely disappointing evening and I know the children sitting in front of us were bored to tears.

The acting was great. The costumes were great. The staging and scernery were amazing and fascinating to see how each scene was constructed. I didn't realize how much the story would differ from the Disney version. The new songs that were added were so-so. The orchestra often overpowered the voices, which were challenging enough to understand with some of the characters because of the British accent. The bathroom facilities at the Orpheum in Mpls. are greatly inadequate to accommodate so many people during the brief 15 minute intermission.

Although this was not the Mary Poppins storyline that most of us are familiar with, the slight deviations in the story were easy to follow. The highlight of the production however was the truly incredible costuming and staging. The set changes from grey and drab to an explosion of color were sometimes more than the eye could take in. Silly as it may sound, the production was Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! Our only regret was that the evening performance was too late and too long for our 4 1/2 year old, so we had to leave early.

Marry Poppins was 6 stars. The stage, the production and the drama and singing was first rate. I loved Mary Poppins as a child so when I saw it was coming to my area, I had to go! This was my Christmas present and I must say it was well worth it! Our grandchildren (ages 3 and 7) came with us to Mary Poppins. We were a little unsure about whether they would be able to sit for that long, so came well equipped with munchies. They both loved the play, and using the binoculars they brought along to help them see details better. Our grandson, who is 3, may not have lasted for the entire show except that he loves dance, and was well prepared by having listened to the soundtrack over and over, and having seen the movie atleast once. I might recommend a little older for the average child-5 or 6 might be a better age minimum. There was a little boy in front of us who was very ready to leave at the intermission. He appeared to be about 5. It helped my grandson that I whispered the story into his ear as the play progressed, as he didn't always understand what was going on. Grandpa and I had a wonderful time together with our grandchildren, and played in the fountain in front of the auditorium afterwords to finish off this great experience.

What a great show. My eight year old daughter thoroughly enjoyed it, too. The sets were so colorful and clever-- a real highlight of the show. A bit long, however... they could easily have omitted a song or two (songs that you didn't know and wouldn't have missed). Highly recommended for all ages. The audience (many dressed up little girls) were incuraged to clap along with some of the songs. The actors seemed to appreciate this and actually become more animated. The live musical show is a little like the movie, don't go if you are expecting a duplicate, the live show is far superior to the movie classic. Many songs and parts not included in the movie that brought the whole show theme together more tightly. The set pieces were grand, what you would expect from Broadway-classy, smooth moving, and very in keeping with the times of the show-modern in a classical sense. The young children in the show were amazingly good-I was pleasantly surprised. We were in the last row in the last seats and it was still a terrific show! The orchestra was flawless, the crew amazing. If you want value for your cash, go see Mary Poppins.

I went to Mary Poppins expecting to sing along with favorite old songs. I looked forward to a rollicking round of "We're merely soldiers in petticoats, dauntless crusaders for women's votes". I gleefully anticipated an exciting rendition of "Step in Time" with incredible dancing. Instead, both songs and story had been altered. New songs (not so good songs) were introduced. Original songs were altered and watered down. New scenes were introduced. It did not even seem congruent for Mary, Bert, and the kids to go to a store to buy letters from an orange-clad Jamaican woman so that they could spell superclifragilous. Of course, they sang a new version of the song. Another criticism is the elaborate set. I would have preferred that the director placed his or her energy on the traditional song and dance rather than on producing cumbersome set pieces that were frequently moved around. I once saw Fiddler on the Roof. The director had one or two props and not much set design, but Tevya sang the original songs like a pro and the acting was amazing. Afterward we would not stop clapping. The point is that the content is more important than cumbersome visuals. The strong point of this version of Mary Poppins was Bert's performance. His acting, singing, dancing were spot on. I would have followed him through any chalk drawing. However, regrettably they did not jump through a chalk drawing in the play.

Truly an unforgettable experience! There is so much life in the show and the cast is phenomenal. I would HIGHLY recommend Mary Poppins to everybody- especially since it is suitable for all ages! I was a little unsure about how the show would be performed since there are so many aspects of the movie that would be difficult to replicate on stage; however, the show surpassed all of my highest expectations. Absolutely go see Mary Poppins!

The look on my daughters face said it all. She was thrilled, excited and we were both impressed. Mary Poppins didn't disappoint.

I thought this was about 5-7 scenes too long... it was great to bring back childhood memories but we thought it went a little over what was appropriate.

Excellent - once you get past the naked dancing statues and the creepy toys. We saw Mary Poppins on Broadway last year and the touring play changed the story somewhat, but equally as good.

The sets, costumes, lighting, effects, acting, and orchestra for Mary Poppins created continuous magical memories for me. I had anticipated what my experience would be and I was not disappointed.

I didn't know what to expect. I haven't read the book so all I had was the movie to go on. It was different from the movie which makes me curious about the book now. They had the same songs as in the movie- different order but same songs as well as new ones. THE WAY THEY DID THE SET & SCENE CHANGES WAS AMAZING.

This show was not as spectacular as we thought it might be. The second half was much better than the first. I actually dozed off just briefly during the first half, and so did my husband! My daughters were a little bored as well, and they have never said that about other shows we have attended. It got better toward the end and woke us up a bit! Unfortunately, probably not worth the price though.

Sets were outstanding! Unfortunately, the rest of the show wasn't. Tried hard not to compare it to the movie, yet even so, no characters were likable - not even Mary Poppins! Had to leave at intermission because we couldn't take it any longer - and we weren't the only ones who left. Very, very disappointing.

Disappointing. An uninspired show that would not make any sense if you hadn't seen the movie, though I s'pose you wouldn't be interested if you hadn't seen the movie. Scene transitions made little sense, songs seemed included because they were expected, not b/c they moved the "plot" forward. Our 8yr old enjoyed it, and the 60+ yr old in front of us seemed thrilled, but spouse and I were underwhelmed and had hoped for a more enjoyable/satisfying show.

The entire production was excellent, from the singing and dancing to the costumes and sets. The show was fresh and new with an enthusiastic and well-prepared cast. The behind-the-stage crew made sure everything ran smooth and seamless, and if there were any glitches, the audience didn't see them! Dancing on the ceiling, flying through the air . . . the show was full of surprises! Completely enjoyed the show!

Pretty good show, especially for young people who know the story and songs. A lot of songs and dialogue that are just sort of there, however. Missed some of the effects of the set that we saw on Broadway.

Mary Poppins on Broadway was a bit strange considered it was based off the Disney movie. Seems the theatrical version has a bit of a mean side when it comes to the nanny the children's dad had that came back to nanny them for a bit.

We had the misfortune of having a ONE-HOUR delay to the performance, due to a "building maintenance issue" at the Music Hall, which made the first act of the play seem like an eternity. I kept thinking they had decided to skip the intermission, but then they actually did have it. There performers were actually very good - strong voices and acting. Some of the songs that were added to the musical weren't necessary and more filler than anything else. The second act was much better than the first. Summary - strong performers; not so-strong musical; Music Hall could have communicated much better to the audience about the delay - VERY poor.
