Blue Oyster Cult

Blue Oyster Cult

Blue Öyster Cult is an American rock band formed in New York in 1967. The group is well known for three songs: The 1976 single "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" from the album Agents of Fortune, the 1981 single "Burnin' for You" from the album Fire of Unknown Origin, and "Godzilla" (1977) from Spectres . The band is a pioneer in heavy metal music both for its hard-edged musical assault and its use of sci-fi and occult imagery.

The band as always were fantastic and with the smaller type concert area made every seat a good one. And having in the same building all the really great restaurants with the most courteous staff that we have ever been around made it like heaven on earth, we would highly recommend this place to anyone, thanks to all!!

This is my third or fourth time seeing the Oyster Boys at the Emerald Queen. I saw them first in 1976 at the Key Arena (Seattle Center at the time). I have been an unapologetic fan since Tyranny and Mutation in 1973. That was a looooong time ago. They left the lasers back there in time but they've boiled their show down to the basics of metal and driving rock. I can't wait until next time! They played one set for about two hours and followed with a short encore.

I brought my girlfriend along to this, and it completely brought her over to the side of rock. The band hasnt lost a bit of their spark, and are just as incredible as they always have been. The setting was even better; a lounge-like atmosphere with tables spaced comfortably around the floor, and we ended up at a table directly next to a low ledge from the upper level, with an amazing view of the stage (though the same could be said about pretty much any other table). The service was polite and friendly, as were the people we were sitting near. Basically, an unforgettable show.

They still sound great, and played lost classics like 'this ain't the summer of love' and 'mirrors'. i only wish they had played 'E.T.I.' and 'astronomy'-though that is a really long song. highly recommend, i hope they come back again.

It was an unforgettable experience with my husband and my kids. It was much better than we expected. We lived the experience even few days after the show. The food in the club was pretty expensive and not so good.

I saw BOC years ago when they were playing with Angel and Rush was opening for them in Binghamton, NY. They were great then and they still rock. The Chameleon Club is a smaller, more intimate place than where I saw them before and it really added to being able to have a great experience watching them.

I have seen BOC in concert seven times between July 2008 and June 2009. The 5 June 2009 show at the Chameleon Club in Lancaster was amazing. Buck Dharma has given me three guitar picks and I will be a fan of his forever.

This was the smallest show that I had ever seen for the DTE / Pine Knob venue. Parking was great, better than the VIP parking. I think that everone at the show could have parked there. Both BOC and Rainbow didn't care that the house was so empty. They still ROCK! even my teenage son was taken back by both bands who have been around since way before he was born. I almost wish that all the shows could have crowds this small, but I know that it is a sign of the hard times in Michigan. I hope we can bring it back.

Blue Oyster Cult were awesome! They continue to be an amazing band to see live. I have seen them many times and each time they do not disapoint, wether playing their many hits or playing fan favorites from their large back catalog. One note however: D.T.E. was to large a venue perhaps for them to be playing, the crowd was very small, in fact it was the smallest crowd I have ever seen at D.T.E.. It was not suprising considering the Economy, it was a Wednsday, and the fact that Blue Oyster Cult are not exactly the commercial Juggernaut they were in the late 70's and early 80's, and that they have played the Detroit area in the past almost every Year. It didnt seem to phase the small but enegentic crowd though, all seemed to have a good time, I now I sure did. If you havent had the chance to see them live yet, wether it's in a small Club or large Arena or Ampitheater, I highly recommend you do. B.O.C. on tour forever....I hope!

It doesn't matter your age. These guys can jam and that they did. There was a few songs I wished they would have played instead of the really old stuff. It seems a concert is best for older artists when they play their greater hits. Overall we had a good time.

They are still one of my favorite bands, but they didn't perform 9 of their greatest hits. Clearly Eric Blooms voice was gone because he only sang one song and he sings 90% of their hits. They should have at least told us his voice was gone.

It had been 10 years since I had seen B.O.C. in concert.I was surprised and a little saddened to see that three original members were no longer there. The two drivin' wheels Donald Roeser and Eric Bloom sure made it happen along with the three new band members. They played for almost two hours and I don't know who had the best time, the audience or B.O.C. It is my personal opinion that these guys will go on for a long time yet, thrilling crowds wherever they go.

We had a fantastic time at last nights concert, music was GREAT - Both Bands excellent, especially BOC gave us one hell of a great show that we will remember for a very long time. Not to take away from BOC and not related to last nights show either, but would like to suggest to The Palace or DTE to book "THE J. GEILS BAND" again A.S.A.P. We were some of the fortunate ones to have seen them at the "Filmore" in Detroit a few months back and they rocked the house. I saw them back at DTE for the first time ever in the late 70's and they are as good today as they were back then. Surely they could sell out the Palace or DTE in a very short time. Definitely we would attend the show if you can get them back here again, even if higher ticket price's then to see other popular bands, they are still worth the prices and seeing them again and again!!!

This is the third time I've seen the band live, but the last time was 25 years ago. My wife, who is not a fan of rock music, attended with me. She loved the show and purchased an album on iTunes the following day. The whole setlist was great, the only disappointment was that it had to end. This "old" fan was satisfied, and a new fan was born.

Opening act was Vanilla Fudge, first time seeing them, always been a fan of Carmine Appice so it was a treat to finally see him live. I think i have always thought there was something that was meant to be when you combine drums, bass, guitar, and a Hammond. Sound was tight , vocals and harmonies were on, the mixer board needed to bring out the guitar more which it did eventually. Good Performance from them. Band Also came off stage after they were done and were signing things at thier consessions table . Blue Oyster Cult Came on stage and it did a great job, Music was tight, vocals were good. Since the venue is not that big blue oyster cult and also Vanilla Cream seemed to connect with the audience almost on a personal level , The band played a great mix of work from their catalog of music. Buck Dharma truly is a gifted guitarist and the rest of the band" wow" One of the highlights that myself and my son thought was when they did bucks boogie, You see Bucks amazing talent but then you got to see Richie Castellano shred it, most of the show he is the second guitarist and keyboards, during this he gets to show his amazing guitar work in his style of playing. Watching two guitarist playing like that is a treat. Overall thought it was great and fun, and if the timing is right i would definetly go see them again

Blue Oyster cult was the headline band and played great. The opening act was Vanilla fudge, and aside from playing their biggest hit, left me wanting to move on to the next band. The middle band was the famous Robbie Krieger from the doors. He played all Doors hits. Who could believe that in 2015 you could go to a Doors concert. They were the best band of the evening and I would go hear them again in a heart beat. All in all, a really great evening!

Uriah Heep came on strong with a perfect mix from note one. The Heep proved to be better than ever with five powerhouse players that are musically tight as any band I have ever heard in my life. Blue Oyster Cult was enjoyable but should have opened for Uriah Heep instead of headlining as their set seemed lackluster compared to the stunning power of Uriah Heep, who I hope will return to the US with a headlining tour soon.

Blue Oyster Cult has lost their edge, The band was off from each other by about half a beat and they never got it together. Lots of the audience including us just left after they played Burning for You with the skills of a garage band. Uriah Heep on the other hand was on top of their game and made up for the lackluster performance by BOC.

Yes! They ve been my favorite band from the first time I heard them. Finally, got to see them in person. I was supposed to go to their concert in Indy about 40 years ago but some violent concert goers made my mom paranoid! Was surprised to see they were scheduled in Fort Wayne, and made sure to be there, maybe my last chance. I loved the smaller venue, never been in the C2G before and got real excited when we walked in, knowing I would see them up close. They played some old favorites and some newer songs all fantastic! Eric and Buck are perfect, looking and sounding so good, better with age unlike many rockers. They made some solid choices in the newer members. I always admired how they kept their heads together. Buck stopped the show once to get the sound right. Eric backed him up and talked us through it till they got it squared up. The whole crowd at C2G was lit up after hearing them and begged for more. The band came back with several more songs. Great show, great musicians.

You can tell when a group is having a special night; when everything is going right and they're feeling the groove. This was one of those nights. They played for TWO hours! You could tell that everyone was having a great time. Buck is normally somewhat reserved, but he was kicking up his heels and messing around with the guitar.

BOC has always been a great live band. Great set list and performance. No disappointments! Sound and mixing was excellent, and the band seemed to be enjoying themselves as much as the audience. Venue was good, excellent service and staging. Buck sang the wrong first verse of "The Vigil", but I don't think anyone noticed. I was trying to sing along and started laughing, and when he sang the second verse correctly he looked right at me with a huge grin...! I saw them in 1980 when I was 15, so this time I took my 24 year old son who loves hard rock and he really loved it.! He was amazed how much energy "old guys" could have. Only things I would change (personal preference only): 1) Longer show, 90 min was good, but they had to leave out a couple good songs. 2) Later start time for after-dark performance. 3) Not a big fan of bass/drum solos, rather them play another song. P.S. Danny Miranda on bass this tour

First, the Blue Oyster Cult was FANTASTIC, Donald and Eric can still deliver the goods. The sound mixer could have been better, poor balance between vocals and guitars. A good sound engineer would have known the difference. The disappointing thing was the lack of professionalism of the Coconut Creek Hard Rock Staff, They let people smoke marijuana in the crowd, not cool. Some bald guy with a Napoleon complex made me put my camera away, but did nothing to the people swarming the stage with their cameras. The bald guy with the Napoleon Complex walked away grinning, perhaps the marijuana guy bibed the Seminole Hard Rock Coconut Creek representative with a toke?

As I get c loser and closer to my 100th BOC concert - i hope that the next show will be sooner than it is. Bergan PAC is a good place to see a show - easy access in and out, plenty of parking and mostly friendly establishments. The band: they rock on as hard as ever and you get caught up in the spirit of the show quickly. Then came the last days of May has always been my favorite with ME262 a close 2nd. Buck and Ritchie take the last days of May to new levels - awesome. bottom line - if you like their music - you'll like their stage show - see at one soon wildbill

It still amazes me that Cleavland continues to over look these pioneers of heavy metal. Formed in1972 B.O.C continue to consistantly tour the planet with original members Eric Bloom and Donald (Buck Dharma) Roeser. Additionally, legendary bassist Rudy Sarzo, (Quiet Riot, Whitesnake, Ozzy Osbourne, etc) guitarist Richie Castellano, and drummer Jules Radino round out the band that played a flawless set of pure Rock N Roll. What sets B.O.C apart from most bands is evident in their live shows, no "phoned in" performance here, these guys genuinly love to play their music. The bands biggest hit and classic rock staple "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" still has relavence in todays culture and can be heard in recent movies (Halloween, Zombieland, etc) and Ford car commercials. The look on Buck Dharma's face as he rips through the countless playing of this masterpiece is nothing short of pure pleasure. Front man Eric Bloom kept the crowd enthralled with between song muesings and Red Sox refrences. His vocal is as strong as it was nearly 40 years ago at the start of this incredable bands journey. If you love rock and real guitar playing and real vocals this is the band for you. To quote one of their 70's t-shirts I hope this band stays "On Tour Forever" with or without Cleavlands approval.

Not one of my top favorite bands, and only know three of their songs (Seasons Don't Fear the Reaper, Burning for You, and Godzilla). Which they did play in their set. But while I'm not really familiar with the bulk of their work, this is the 3rd time I've seen them and they kicked butt each time. One of the good things about bands two decades past their peak popularity is that you can get good seats (front row) at a decent price ($35). And the band still rocks, some great guitar jams. Got some great camera shots, caught one of Buck's guitar picks, got Eric's autograph. I imagine if I was a die hard fan of the band, I'd give it five stars and not four. But can't give five stars to every show I go to.

I'm a huge Blue Oyster Cult fan. That being said, I'm probably at least 20 years younger than most other fans. I first heard of Blue Oyster Cult on the radio of course, with their hits Don't Fear the Reaper and Burnin' For You(both were played at the show), but I really got into them after seeing the movie The Stoned Age one late night as a teen. That movie definitely cemented my urge to see a BOC concert someday! Soon after, I bought their super hits album, and now have all their albums in one form or another with the LPs being my favorite way to hear them. I held a lot of expectations for this show, and for the most part they were fulfilled. The mood of the lighting and sound of the show was up to par, considering it took place in such a seemingly small area. The showroom at the Wheeling Island Casino is roughly 200x100 ft, with the furthest seating being about 75-100 ft from the stage. I got my tickets late, I guess, and was seated in the very back row by people who didn't seem to know much or care about the band. Needless, to say, I switched seats later to an empty space a few rows up by some people jamming out, so as to not feel so awkward and enjoy myself. The show started about 15-20 minutes late, beginning at around 8:20 and ending only about an hour and a half later, around 9:45. Maybe they didn't feel like being in WV very long? Who'd blame them, really? Anyhow, it started off slow, with no one responding to rhythm guitarist and founding member Eric Bloom's offer to take requests. I felt bad afterward for not yelling out"Astronomy!", or "E.T.I.!" Things got swinging around the time Donald "Buck Dharma" Roeser, the lead guitarist and vocalist(also one of the two remaining founding members), started into his famous Buck's Boogie instrumental. The crowd finally responded and started going wild and things definitely picked up from there. There were lengthy solos to be heard and some of the biggest Blue Oyster Cult hits were played. The newer members of the band shined quite well against the seasoned Veterans, but I have to admit sometimes I wished they'd shut up and just let me hear Buck's solos instead. I was a bit disappointed to not hear the more lengthy or esoteric songs played, the ones I really love most of all, but it was an excellent show regardless and I'd easily go see them again. I was grateful to be able to catch the band so close to home, even if I still had to travel 2 hours there and back to do so. I definitely would recommend the Showroom to someone. The Casino and easy access to restrooms and booze outside was definitely a plus. Supposedly BOC are on tour forever, so who knows, maybe I'll be lucky enough to catch them again.

First of all I must admit I didn't know Foghat as much as I had known about BOC. My first impression of Foghat was..They Kick Ass!! They played some amazing numbers!! I loved the slide guitar displays from their guitarist Bryan Bassett ! Then came in BOC! Buck Dharma and Eric Bloom played some of their best songs they had ever written! Mesmerizing display of guitar solos from Buck and Richie [their second guitarist/keyboardist] ! rudy Sarzo [bassist] slapped those thick strings like hell! In conclusion it was worth it to see Blue Oyster Cult!!

Foghat was excellent as usual. I've loved Foghat's music since I saw them in Ft. Wayne, opening for Johnny Winters(Rick Derringer and Randy Hobbs from my hometown). My husband and I saw the group the last time they were at the Indianapolis Rib Feast. Since my husband passed away last March (pancreatic cancer), my son accompanied me this year. He saw another side of his mother that he had never seen before. He didn't know that I had a love for classic rock. I made sure that we got seats that were up close and personal, which made the whole show better. Blue Oyster Cult made my Labor Day a hit. My first time to see BOC was in Dayton, Ohio in the 70's. I was able to be right up at the stage, so when I was able to be up close again, this brought back memories of my younger years. I enjoyed you at the Rib Feast when you played with 38 Special and I enjoyed you again this year. Thanks to both groups for making my Labor Day a memorable one. As my 4 yr old granddaughter, Emma will tell you. "Rock On!"

These two groups should of been early tickets. Blue oyster cult was not on long enough. They are a great band that did not get the respect the deserve. These two bands were amazing. The whole ticket for food weird. 7 tickets for $10.00 Whats that about? I give you a $10.00 I want ten tickets their a dollar a piece? I liked the way it was set up. Different rib areas all around but I didn't understand who won the year before. I would have liked to try their ribs but never found them. more tables to sit at or stand. I was a VIP ticket buyer. Bathrooms need to be marked better and the one for us to the left broken and we were told we could not use the other by the staff. Not right must fix this. Long walk for bathrooms. seats should be better positioned for VIP way to far left. Didn't pay to see amps. Over All i would do this again next year for sure. More food venders and drink ones.

Don't get me wrong, BOC rocked! That is what I was there for. They started out strong and didn't slow down until they abruptly ended their set and the show was over. Never got to hear some of their best stuff. They arrived late due to airline delays but the event venue cut their stage time down. Shame on the RibFest organizers for not making allowance for SNAFUs. It's not like they were playing at midnight. They were to start at 6PM but didn't start until around 7PM. They should have let them play as long as they liked. The ribs weren't that good either-my wife makes better ribs than these clowns were peddling. I'll never go see anything there again. If you go, make sure it isn't to see the last act of the day. Looking forward to the next time BOC plays in my area-they still rock hard! The crowd was pretty fired up by time the first note was struck. The band was introduced in a delightfully odd montage interlude within Godzilla. Rudy has to be one of the hardest working bass guitarist in the business. Buck's mic could have been turned up a little more for the lyrics but they were still audible as was. BOC did not hold back any energy out there as the stage crew was constantly out fixing or adjusting something. For the brief time they were out there, life was good.

The old 70's rock band Foghat rocked the house Sunday at PACAMP. They played all their big hits and one more that was great. Even with only one original member (The Bass Player) they had great energy and excellent slide guitar playing from Bryan Basset and the drumming was world class. The opening act had the audience on their feet by the end of the show winning over the crowd with good rock. Blue Oyster cult was also good showing why Buck Dharma is still one of the great rock guitar player's around. They played a short set for a headliner (About 50 minutes) and left the stage for good at 10:00 sharp. They didn't have an encore and didn't play cities on flame with rock and roll which I had been waiting for all night. They wasted some of their precious time with a drum & bass solo. Play the hits boys

Ok I went to the show and Head East and April Wine were Great! Boc comes on and the lead singer Eric Bloom says to the crowd How are you Cheese Heads Doing?Lots of boos followed. Then he starts talking about the Brat Stop in Kenosha Wis and more boos! He forgot he was in ILLINOIS! The band starts playing and the sound was so low I was shocked! Everyone starts yelling turn it up,turn it up! After 4 or 5 songs of this the band turned the sound up but then it was to loud.FIRE THE SOUND MAN! The band then played the hits but it seemed lackluster to me and it seemed they were just going thru the motions. The biggest mistake they made was playing Bucks Boogie and Last days of May back to back.20 minutes of jamming was to long! on top of that they barely spoke to the crowd and were uninspired.Either I caught them on a off night or they are just to old to bring it anymore.Such a shame cause im a huge fan.The only one from BOC that was on the money was Guitarist Ritchie Casstelano.Maybe its was because he is half the age of most of the band.See this band cause they are legends but don't expect a entertaining show. The venue was outstanding though will go back there.

BOC, the "thinking mans" rock band, always great to see live and truly better than ever with their current lineup. I have seen them many times over the years, since I was a teenager, their motto is On Tour Forever...but we all know nothing lasts forever so I go see them whenever possible, and will continue to do so, as long as they continue to do what they do. It has been said before and it's true, Donald Roeser aka Buck Dharma is one of the most under rated guitarists in rock! New album coming in 2018!

The venue was actually really awesome. The sound mixer could use some tips. The music was overpowering the vocals on both the opening act and the main event. Could be that we were too close but any way, another marked off my list. Thanks for hosting this event.

I'm a die-hard classic rock and heavy metal fan that goes to just about every rock concert in the region whenever possible. The Cave is a small venue in a small town, so I'm never sure what to expect in terms of quality, but have wanted to see BOC my entire adult life so I bought the tix without hesitation upon getting the news. They had the crowd on fire the entire show! They sound amazing--incredible musicians with high energy. I went in with low expectations figuring these guys are kind of old. Hell, they blow young dudes right out of the water.

Drove four and a half hours. (round trip) To enjoy this show. It was large enough to have the sense of a big concert. Small enough to feel like it was personalized. More than once Eric Bloom communicated with the cowed. Very cool. The music sounded great. A very good line up of tunes as well. This band deserves way more credit. A lot of talent here. I am so glad they keep on touring. This was the sixth time I have seen BOC. I hope to see them again.

I liked the warm up/cover band; Spike & the Impalers the best! Foghat was pretty good & Blue Oyster Cult came on way too late.... I don't know what happened there, they said it would be 10 minutes and then after 1/2 an hour, people just started leaving. Half of the crowd was gone by the time they did their encore. They must realize that it gets pretty cold in the Great Pacific Northwest and they didn't come on until very late. This was also on a Sunday night where people had to get to work early the next day. Most of the crowd was older & it was very uncomfortable.

This was my fourth Blue Oyster Cult show in the last five years and my seventh ever. The second BOC show I've seen here at Emerald Queen in Tacoma. When you consider the 45 years that these guys have been performing accessible heavy metal/psych-pop rock without having any airplay other than classic rock stations (and then you're going to hear Godzilla and Don't Fear the Reaper and maybe I Love the Night) they perform like they are promoting a hit new album. The moves are good, the sound is tight, the vocals are polished to reproduce songs like they were recorded but with a flair that's fresh. Eric and Don, the only members that go back to the 1974 group, are present and fun to watch. I think the newest member of the band has been with BOC for 15 years so this isn't just a patched up tribute attempt. These guys rock! The showroom (2000?) was sold out and mostly on their feet for the last 45 minutes of a show that lasted about 2.5 hours. I hope to see them again!

Not sure if it was because of Buck's birthday party with the fans or if this was their norm, but Boc are talented imaginative musicians who put on one hell of an entertaining show with deeper playlist of songs that they don't normally play. Harrah's was an excellent intimate venue. Music was tight. Showmanship galore! Don't miss em.

Jefferson starship was just horrible. Blue oyster cult was better but the bass was turnned up to high. Though when they did play thier top hits they were decent. On the band's first song, "The Red and The Black," a cue was missed by a couple of members going into a chorus. Though they quickly recovered, lead singer Eric Bloom still, in saying hello to the audience, saw fit to mention that it wasn't note perfect. From then on, the band seemed doubly energized and put on a great performance. I was relieved to hear a simple mistake because way too many times these days bands are using that awful "performance enhancement" technology where they really aren't playing all (or much) of what you hear. I really hate paying good money to see a band prancing about the stage NOT playing music but putting on a "show." Not these guys. This is five excellent musicians playing incredible songs. Eric Bloom is now 70 but his voice on this night sounded excellent, particularly on the heavier songs like "ME 262" and "Lips in the Hills." Buck Dharma is still one of the best electric guitar players in the world. Even though they are the only two original members in the group they are supported by real pros and sound better than most young bands making the headlines today. If they come to your town, do yourself a favor and see them. Speaking of young bands, the opening act, The Pinx did a great short set to start the show. Straight-ahead rock and roll that was well received by an audience that was waiting on BOC. Keep an eye out for them in your area. This was my first trip back to the newly renovated Variety Playhouse. The money spent in keeping this old venue open was money well spent. Great sound and with the exception that some of the balcony seats are a bit obscured, good sight lines everywhere. The staff were friendly and I will look forward to going back to shows there. All my friends that went to the show had a great evening of rock and roll.

In front of a sold out crowd at BB Kings. founding members and the current line up joined together in tribute to the late Allen Lanier (keyboard/guitarist for the band). They were AWESOME! First set was a tribute to Allen - the band played seven songs that he wrote. Great to see Albert (original drummer) and Joe Bouchard (original bass player) back on stage with the other original members, Buck Dharma and Eric Bloom. Highlight of the first set was a killer version of Allen's composition "Searching for Celine." Gil Blanco and Tenderloin were awesome as well. Second set with the current line-up including Jules Radino on drums, Richie Castellano on guitars/keys and Kasim Sultan on bass was phenomental! Shooting Shark, Summer of Love , the Vigil and Reaper were spectacular. If you've never seen Buck Dharma you are missing out on seeing one of the truly great rock guitarists of our time. Any chance you get, go see this band. Guaranteed not to disappoint - ever.

Donald Roeser (Buck Dharma) in control and command of the best playing I've seen from him to date. I was about 30 feet from the stage. All their great songs and a few that I have not heard performed before. I had seen them in Plymouth Memorial Hall in '06', Mohegan Sun Wolf Den '06', Hampton Beach Casino '15', but this was the best. Tight and full of energy, Castellano performing some blistering leads only to finish with Donald bringing it to a higher level of understanding of his guitar. The setlist was awesome, my favorites being "The Vigil" and "Then Came the Last Days Of May". Original Eric Bloom was there adding key guitar rythym and keyboards, alternating keyboards with Castellano. Drummer was superb following the original artististic intent of B.O.C., to a tee. Eric Bloom's voice still superb and has not changed.

I've always liked this band and I really enjoyed seeing them at the Saban. Small venue, comfortable. Great view. My only complaint was that the mixing guy kept the lead guitar too low. I couldn't hear Mr Roese for pretty much the whole concert. That was the main reason I went. He's excellent and a ton of boc's most popular tunes and sound are based around his guitar. What a shame. Other than that the band played very well. Great selections from their massive catalog. My wife and I had a super time. Thanks boc.

I remember hearing Blue Oyster Cult in the kitchen playing on the floor with my toys. I remained listening to them as I grew up and am able to share it with my own child. But DAMN! I dont remember sounding like that as a child. What a rock session, a psychedelic moment full of sweet gairtur solos and the drummer. Hands down was a monster. When you think about it, It was a night of friends just getting together having fun. I mean i wasn't tripping at all and didn t need it. The music was good enough.. Thank you for sharing your music to the world. Mrs. Molly

Blue Oyster Cult were great from the opening note. They threw in a few deep cuts like Career of Evil and True Confessions, as well as their hits Godzilla, Burnin For You and Don t Fear The Reaper. Moments of brilliance made it worth our time, but it was not an outstanding show. The vocals got better as the show went on, however the long instrumental portions were average and grew tiring. They no longer have the energy for the drawn-out instrumentals, and at points they became just boring. The good moments were quite good, but they were too far apart to categorize this as an overall good concert.

I'd only heard a couple of BOC's hits on FM radio over the years. I never owned one of their albums, but I was curious to see how they were in a headlining concert at this stage of the game. I was very impressed. I loved the power, and the precision of the musicians. Though they are well past their radio heyday, they put on a great show. I ended up buying six of their CDs after seeing the show, and I'm looking forward to seeing BOC in concert again! (3 Star rating is for venue, not the band.)
