Motown the musical is a wonderful event that every baby boomer and their children can enjoy. The play bought back memories of times lived. The audience applauded every song and the muscial groups were well represented. Having lived during the Motown years it was great to see the story behind the story. I recommended the play to everyone I met the following day.

Motown tried to do too much in to short a time. It concentrated on certain artist and left out others. For example where was Martha Reeves and the Vandellas. The performances and sets were excellent. Even though there were 50 songs in the show they were for the most part shortened. However, all the actors were excellent and the set changes were great. The overall experience was very enjoyable and a great evening out. Thank you

Amazing ! Oh My God ! as americans say :-) The muscial was a great big moment of my new-york vacation. I'm a french tourist coming to the "Big Apple" with my wife and son. I couldn't miss a musical in Broadway, and I've chosen Motown because I know all songs (like everyone around the world !!) As a french, I don't know about anyone in the cast, but it's not a problem as they're all good : Krystal Joy Brown is perfect as Diana Ross, looks like the original !! Bryan Terrell Clark (Marvin Gaye) and Raymond Luke Jr (Young Michael Jackson) players were amazing. And Eric LaJuan Summers playing Jackie Wilson at the beginning ! Moving sets, lights and dances were great. In the Lunt-Fontanne theater, it seems that you have great view from each seat, which is not often the case in french venues. So, run to this musical. You won't regret it !!!

I thought the performance was mediocre at best. Please do not improvise the songs; play them as the original artists created them and play the entire song, not just excerpts. The usher seated us in the wrong seats. The performance had begun and the people who were supposed to be in the seats we were directed to came in late and we had to move around in the dark to allow them to sit down in their assigned seats. Another usher tried to guide us to the correct seats but it was dark and difficult for her to get us to those seats so we wound up watching the venue from the last row in the Grand Tier. I paid for Center Tier seating not in the last row!

It was the best show I ever saw better then Vegas shows. The entire cast was excellent wonderful voices, especially the young boy that sang Michael. The music was sensational Motown at its best. The show truly captured an iconic time in music and history, it had liberal politics but that is what happen which was a part of history. No one of the boomer generation should miss this show! Very well done. I wanted to add I am a white person that enjoyed the true historic part.

Music was great and dancing, but I hate the liberal politics being pushed when I am there to be entertained, from 2 different people the play was changed from when they saw it in Memphis adding freedom Riders and made the song war seem like civil rights song rather than Vietnam protest Dirty dancing play also had the same liberal agenda and freedom riders. This so was so good and took you through the history of not only Motown but what was happening in the world during that great music era. Such a moving scene when they heard of Dr. King's assassination and the music that followed had such power. The cast was great and the dancing and singing took you through memory lane. The actress who played Diana Ross was spot on and had the true essence of Diana, her voice was great and since I seen Diana Ross live two years ago felt she captured her so well. The young man who played the young Michael Jackson had a great voice and has to be having the time of his life with this show. The actor who played Barry Gordy had an amazing voice and so did so many others in this show. I would go see this show again and again. Wanted to get up and dance with the Motown beat. Thank you Barry Gordy for giving the world the gift of great music!!!!

The road show of Motown was amazing! The ensemble is so fine-tuned and works so well together! The musical tracked the rise of music-in-our-lives from the 1920's to present day. It was memorable and the time went by too quickly. Iconic performers were so well acted, that it was believable they were the originals. I wish I could see this several more times. The lighting and set changes were flawless and moved from one time-frame/set to the next very smoothly.

A really entertaining show with all the great Motown hits. The entire cast was very good but the actor who played Gordy Barry in this production was incredible. Unfortunately, the theatre where we saw it had a false fire alarm go off 10 minutes into the show and the entire audience had to be evacuated for 15-20 minutes. Very disruptive. I've heard this has happened here quite a few times - they really need to get that fixed.

I bought the tickets to Motown as a Christmas Present for my mom. It was our first date of the year and I am so happy that I did. I have seen quit a few plays and this one has got to be my favorite. The audience participation, the story line, the performance overall was OUTSTANDING!! We saw it on the last Saturday that it was playing in New York. I am trying to figure out where I have to go in order to take my husband and 3 little ones to see it. I have a new found love for Mr. BG! I recommend everyone who has an opportunity to go see it!!

The entire show was filled with energy. There were several cast changes on the night we attended. But you couldn't tell. Everyones performance was spot on. I hate to single any single performer out because everyone was wonderful. However, the young man to took on the role as a young Michael Jackson was Amazing. He nailed Who's Loving You and set it off! I attended the show with a few of my co-workers , all of whom have seen the show atleast twice already. Hearing all the songs from Motown bought back so many good memories. Krystal Joy Brown is also a great talent as well and did a fantastic job portraying the diva of all divas, Diana Ross. This is a great show and I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves the sounds of Motown and want to have a great Broadway experience.

First act was too slow. The wrong song started the downfall at the beginning. The 4 Tops and the Tempts did not have matching voices to the orignial singers. They sounded off. Stevie Wonder was best in show. Jackson 5 danced too fast for some of the music in the songs .Dianna Ross could have had more hair. Who was the best singer in The Supremes? Surely not foghorn Mary or the fading violet Flo. Great story line and outfits. Stage was set up well and the scenes changed easily..

I and three other friends met up in NYC to go see Motown and we LOVED IT!!! I loved the Theatre, the seats and the production. It brought back memories. Two amazing experiences that I enjoyed most: 1) interaction with the audience and 2)chatting with I believe a manager of the theatre after the show over near the Motown wall that listed all who were part of Motown. That was a pleasant chat, he shared all who came to support the production (President Obama, First Lady Michelle, etc.), how it was the actor who played Michael's first few days of performing and how the younger actors schedule of performing..

It was an unprecededented historical epic musical about Mr. Gordy's life and all the circling political and social obstacles surrounding him living in America. I first saw Motown the Musical, in March 2014 and loved it. So I decided to create a memorable theatre experience for my immediate family. I flew my mother in from Minneapolis, and treated her and my daughter to their first Broadway show. We attended the Sunday matinee. The ensemble again was spectacular, even more so for a matinee. The voices, movements, and energy was strong, and the entire ensemble noteworthy. We sat 10 rows in and WOW! Special kudos to the 'new' Berry Gordy. His acting, stage presence, energy and vocal strength was outstanding. Please go see this wonderful production! Kudos to the ENTIRE cast, crew, and orchestra!

It was inspiring, and moving. It was nostalgic, and provided insight on the history of Motown, and what great impact it had in the music industry. Took me back to my childhood of many great memories. It had me singing and dancing in my seat.

My wife and I went to see Motown, The musical yesterday. We sat two rows from the stage in the Orchestra and watched the great cast perform from the Motown Catalog of songs while telling how Berry Gordy Jr. and others made Motown into a music empire. Josh Tower and Krystal Joy Brown as Berry Gordy Jr. and Diana Ross were outstanding. Prince George Maynard as young Michael Jackson was a standout as well. Great entertainment! This was the best theater experience I have ever had! The recreation of all the great Motown Groups like the Supremes, Temptations, The Jackson 5 were spot on! Just great! The wife and I loved it!

The music was amazing and took me back to the good old music. I loved the characters and even was surprised to see someone I know in the show. He played Marvin Gaye (Bryan) and my daughters performed with him in Philadelphia before. I also loved the costumes and the dancing. They were so accurate.

I didn't know what to expect from Motown, the Musical, but it was really good and enjoyable. The cast was fantastic (acting and singing) and the show had just the right amount of music mixed in (generally not whole songs, but enough to bring back memories). The theater was easy to get in to (and out of), was comfortable and had a really good sound system. The set was amazing with high quality moving screens that made for quick transitions and good special effects. Bravo to the performers who *became* the stars from the past they represented right in front of our eyes!

This was the best show I have seen in many years. The actors act and sound like the real thing. The child that plays Michael Jackson was exceptional (Chase Phillips) and so was the rest of the cast! It is a must see show. Don't let this one go by!

About my Birthday, where my wife and I were entertained watching #motown stage play the musical. So, when I tell you they were in character, please believe me. In character as Diana Ross, she asked for crowd participation tip help sing a song. wouldn't you know it, my wife was chosen. when my wife started singing, the Diana Ross actress was taken back that Mrs. Adger has a song bird voice. and tho add to my pleasure, she foot the cat tip daddy Happy Birthday Jeffrey! yeah she did that!

The overall show presented a walk back in time for me. There were times when I fought back tears of remembrance where I was at certain times in my life. It was indeed a magical experience. Although I thoroughly enjoyed myself, the show was abruptly stopped my an emergency evacuation notice. Thereby missing the ending of the performance. I drove nearly forty miles to attend this performance only to result in missing the ending. It was very disappointing not knowing or acknowledging the stellar performances of the ensemble.
