I had been wanting to see Mat Kearney for a while and drove all the way from Denver to make sure it happened. I was pleasantly surprised with a smaller and more intimate crowd, plus an absolutely gorgeous old theater. It was a perfect setting and audience for the music of Mat Kearney and Andrew Belle, who's lyrics are deep and songs are full of ballads/storytelling. It was quite a memorable time. I would definitely return, especially whenever I am rolling through KC on the way to Wisconsin! Fantastic all around!

I saw Matt Kearney with John Mayer a few years ago when he was in Grand Rapids @ the Van Andel- he was great then, but he put on an amazing performance last night at the Intersection. For a small venue, the sound was perfect- not too loud, especially for a sold out show. He did a great mix of new music and older music and played it all with alot of energy! His band was also high energy and passionate about the music.

The Mat Kearney concert in Bloomington last night was AMAZING! He is such a soulful and honest preformer. His music is just beautiful, the lyrics are so true and sweet, whether you knew every word or had never heard him before. His band was awesome, the ROCKED OUT! And He seemed like a very easy going, humble person and that definetly comes thru in his music, but also in his stage presence. He's not a diva, just a guy doing what he loves and hanging out with everyone there and so thankful that we all came and enjoyed it. VERY GENUINE and GRACIOUS... The place was packed, but I would go back in a second if I could !

Mat and his band absolutely rocked the house at the bird. Small venues are absolutely THE best place to see a major artist perform. Was able to walk up and be literally 10 feet away for the whole show. Played for 1:45. Can tell he's really invested in his music and incredibly talented.....from guitar to piano to rapping, singing....wow! Band was excellent. Opening act (Erin McCarly) was VERY good as well.

If you haven't seen Ingrid live, you must! If you think she's good on recordings, she's absolutely fantatstic in person. Add to that, the chance to see Matt Kearney and you have a fantatsic night! Matt's music is excellent and he sounds great live. Ingrid is more than just a musician; she's a comedienne and a true entertainer. This gets my highest recommendation!

This is the second time in less than a year that I have seen Ingrid Michaelson in concert here in the Baltimore area. This show was just as fun and entertaining as the first one I saw! She is warm, funny, and brings the crowd into the performance. You makes an excellent connection with the crowd and you actually feel like you are part of the concert. Her material appeals to all ages and everyone in attendance had a great time. Mat Kearny's performance was also incredible and the crowd loved him. At one point he was actually performing in the crowd--making his way off stage and shaking hands with fans as he sang. Angel Taylor warmed up the crowd with a hits from her new album and a funny happy birthday song to herself. It was a really fun evening!

Such a fantastic show! I would suggest this show to anyone and everyone! Mat Kearney is my favorite and Ingrid Michaelson is up there as well. Angel did a spectacular job too. She had a beautiful voice! Would have liked to hear "Sort Of" from Ingrid and "Never Be Ready" from Mat.

I saw Ingrid and Mat play at a small club in Lancaster, PA. It was an excellent show. Both artists had an exceptionally tight band, you could tell they really cared about providing a compelling show to their paying fans. Both acts were extremely down to earth and friendly, and were as pleasant to watch between songs as they were during songs. Mat threw in a short freestyle about Lancaster City at the end of Undeniable, and Ingrid had jokes by the dozen to make the show more personable and unforgettable.

Before the concert he was interviewing with a radio station and was able to meet him and shake his hand. Such a humble man! The concert was amazing! He connected with the crowd, made alot of eye contact and you could see it in his eyes that he really enjoyed every moment of his tour! He even incorporated Houston into one of his songs. He even went over the barricade near the stage and jumped into the crowd! This was a concert i will NEVER forget!

So me and my brother travel 8 hours from tennessee to louisville to see mat kearney. I was so amazed when i got there and seen how close we were going to be to the stage. We were so close that he would bend down and shake our hands throughout the night. After the concert we went back to meet mat and the band and got his setlist, our tickets among pictures with him autographed. I flew to see coldplay a couple of years ago in dallas and i thought that was the best night of my life. That couldn't even compare to this concert. Anyone that can go see this guy should go,absolutley amazing expierience...

This concert was one of the best I've been to. Diane Birch was an amazing opening act. I'm in love with all of Mat Kearney's music and loved hearing it live even more. I felt like he made eye contact with just about everyone in the audience at least once. After the show I scored a set list and got to chat with the band for a bit, then we waited around outside and got to meet him. I recommend seeing him if you get the chance...I know I'll be there next time he comes around!

This show was fantastic! I can't stop picturing it my mind. Mat does this amazing thing where as he's singing he makes eye contact with people in the audience, and for that breif moment you really feel like he's singing to you. This is a very talented man who is joined by a very talented band. I cannot recommend this show enough to anyone who enjoys music. Even if, by chance, you haven't heard of this awesome singer, it's still way worth it, you will not regret it! GO SEE MAT KEARNEY!!!

It was my third time seeing Mat Kearney and I can certainly say that over the last 4-5 years since I first saw him, he gets better with every performance. The first time I saw Mat Kearney was with John Mayer in 2007 at Nationwide Arena in Columbus....he was soooo good then, and he didn't disapoint last night at The Newport! My friends and I got front row (General Admission rocks!)and it was soo neat to be that close to him! His opening act, Diane Birch, was really good to! She put on a great show! Mat Kearney is with out a doubt one of my favorite artists and his music is sooo amazing! I would recommend not only seeing Mat Kearney in concert to everyone but also to check out a show at the Newport as well! So to sum it up...this concert was probably the best show I have ever been to..aside from John Mayer of course!

I knew a lot of Mat's songs and wasn't sure I would have that great of a time considering I didn't have his new album yet, but I was definitely mistaken. Mat has such a presence on stage that it's very easy to get swept up in his music. His voice sounds amazing live and is extremely talented. Since it was at a small venue, the concert was very intimate which I loved. I was about 10 feet away from him the whole time. I would definitely reccommend seeing him, even if you only know his singles. Most likely you'll buy his album after the show anyways.

He doesn't do a lot of talking in between songs, but Mat Kearney puts on a really good show. Some artists just don't sound good vocally live, Kearney is not one of them. The band was tight and the setlist seamless. I tried to convince my wife to go to the show near us the following night to no avail. I'd certainly go again.

Mat Kearney performed to a packed house treating us to personalized improv in his rock-n-rap style! Even if you don't think you know his music, you DO. His down to earth attitude and clear appreciation of fans makes his show a must see! Mat was joined by his once opening act, Tyler Burkum, to sing and play guitar which really added zing to an already strong vocal performance with perfectly in-sync harmony. Loved, loved loved the performance by Mat Kearney. My friends and I danced from the minute he stepped on stage to the minute he left.There were things that could have been done better by the event promoter...... 1. Advertising I happened upon this event while attempting to buy tickets for Il Divo. Absolutely none of my friends, who love Mat Kearney, knew he was even going to be in town. Matter of fact after the concert we met some friends out in town who were disappointed that itthe event was not well promoted. Considering how amazing Mat's music and talent for songwriting is, I would have expected a larger crowd. The promoter failed him! That's a lot of lost revenue. 2. Lighting Absolutely the worst lighting at the venue. The only luck thing was that Mat was wearing a white shirt and therefore could be see in pictures (and I was not using the small point and shoots either). The stage and the rest of the band were in darkness. I attempted to approch officials at the venue to correct this with no success.

I had not seen Mat Kearney in concert before, and this concert totally rocked! The band and songs played were great; there were no visible technical glitches. There were a couple songs I was hoping for that Mat didn't do, but I'm sure that's the case for every concert. Erin McCarly was great as an opener! The only two suggestions I would have would be to have Mat at a larger venue next time he comes to Grand Rapids. The Intersection was great, but it was packed. And there was quite a bit of time between when Erin finished her set and Mat come on. I know my friends and I were starting to wonder what was taking so long. But overall it was a fantastic concert!

My wife and I were at the concert by 6:30pm for a 7:00pm start. No opening acts were noted on the tickets or at the time of ordering the tickets.At 8:00pm, some kid takes stage and jams out on his digitally band board for 30 mins. 8:45 another band jumps on for at least 15 minutes. By 9:00pm, still no Matt Kearney, the person we thought we would see. We left at 9pm to go home due to relieving our sitter who had them since 4pm. Never again House of Blues, you wasted our time and money. You start 1 hour late and then have two opening acts that you failed to disclose. If we would have known two opening acts we would not of spent $50 on tickets to stand 2 1/2 hours without seeing Matt. We left early and we will never go back! Such a bad experience and disrespectful to our time. 2 hours from the published start time and still not see the main Star even take the stage. Good riddens. Never again!!
