The performers were amazing in their synchronized and fluid movements and actions. The accompanying music sometimes could have been much better selected but the overall performance, I thoroughly enjoyed.

Amazing very high quality show and impressively fine audience many families with the most well behaved children I have ever seen. Many Asian people in the audience who obviously believe in love and discipline and appreciation for the fine art of the Shaolin Warriors. I would recommend seeing this show to everyone of all ages.

I thought it was an amazing event I saw something similar many years ago at the CNE but this was far better....The choreography and the way they defyed gravity so precisionly working as a cohesive force... Loved the interaction when they brought the kids on the stage brought the human element to their show...the costumes and fog created the perfect illusion. All in all great time and didn't hit the pocket book too hard...Would see them again...

Shaolin Warriors was an entertaining exhibition of the discipline and training of the Kung Fu disciples. From the masters to the youngest warriors, they all exhibited the mastery of Kung Fu. The audience participation was entertaining, especially the kids.

The Shaolin Warriors were amazing. What discipline while also being unbelievable performers! It was a perfect mix of disciplined martial arts with graceful almost dance-like moves as the Shaolin Warriors moved in sync with each other. Entertaining for all ages and must see!

The show is a great time for young and old. We were in awe of the control and grace correographed into a colorful show of both individual and group skills demonstrating a shared spirituality that is fiercely action packed and makes for a most enjoyable and remarkably unique family outing.

I recognize the talent as far as the showing of martial arts movements but as a show i found it boring. too much audience participation and by the pictures i had seen and the way it was "sold" i expected a more memorable event. This was very theatrical and mostly about 15 men just running and jumping around on stage. I took my 3 teenage kids and boyfriend and it was a good experience to show them something different to every day tv shows but had hoped for WAY more amazing things and less waving arms and jumping. On posters and brochures it shows them balancing on pillars doing their moves and there was NOTHING even close to that in the show.

I was very pleased with the show. I enjoyed the way they tied in their traditions within the performance as well. The thing I was pleasantly surprised to see was how they brought humor into the show. The part when they brought the children on the stage was a lot of fun to watch - hysterical! It really was a show in which anyone, any age could enjoy.

They were fantastic. They did all the martial arts stuff that you would expect but they did it with a low key sense of humor and had good audience participation. They had the backdrop of the temple and conducted much of the show as a martial arts class. I taught another style for many years and appreciated how well they did things. The use of the two children was excellent.

My grandsons, who are a teen and early 20, were with me. The performance was awe inspiring for all of us, for all ages. There was such a serenity with calm control in each unique individual. My grandson is part Chinese., I so want him to be joyous in his roots. This was a great experience for his self realization. To watch these wonderful men and boys reach for perfection and actualize it , inspires me and my grandsons to reach higher.

The warriors were amazing. Strength and grace. The music was great in some stretches, poor in others. At one point one of the performers decided to skip a trick which had been all set up, and the music for it just ended with a screech. But the flexibility and mastery of their disciplines was awesome to watch. When one of the youngest warriors put a foot over his head, then fell into a rigid split, the entire audience gasped. When they brought audience members up onto the stage to participate, the Shaolin Warriors exhibited a great sense of humor and patience with their untrained 'volunteers.' One comment, there was little or no announcement to the audience, and at times we weren't sure what was going on. I was unsure of what to expect, but bought the tickets as a gift for someone who does karate. We went with open minds, and were pleasantly surprised.

It was physical, it was spiritual, it was entertaining! Many of the feats were unbelievable, and always exciting. The audience participation, especially with the the children, was great. Though much of the audience seemed to be experienced in martial arts, that was not the case for me. Nevertheless, I was totally drawn in from beginning to end. Highly recommended!

Excellent show. It's an impressive display of skill and committment to an ancient art form. I only saw one person drop their weapon. Seeing all of the animal forms was particularly interesting as well as the sparring, both with and without weapons. I couldn't help but wonder how many people there were actual practitioners of some martial art themselves, but it was amusing when they picked two of the larger guys out of the audience who apparently were not practitioners and attempted to teach them sparring. The fog and lighting was a nice touch and the fluidity of their movements was a true demonstration of their physical and mental control. I'm sure every kid that attended will be doing their own kata for weeks after standing up on stage with them. I'm sure we'll go to see them again and look forward to any new surprises they bring with them.

The program was spectacular and jaw-dropping amazing. It's as if the monks have defied the laws of gravity. They exhibited unbelievable kicks, leaping across the stage weightlessly. Their ability to withstand shock and force of objects hitting them is also quite impressive. Flexibility of the monks is also incredible. In all, a true extroardinary martial arts event that is also entertaining for the family, whether you are a student of martials or not. My favorite is the segment where the monks simulate the fighting styles of various animals (a Shaolin technique itself) -- tiger, crane, snake, drunken monkey.

I've seen a documentary about Shaolin Monks that train espceially for these tours and it was a welcomed opportunity to see them in person. They were wonderful with the audience; who knew such serious people could make a crowded room laugh at one moment and have us gaping in amazement in the next moment. I was amazed at their talent and control. I would recommend everyone to see them perform their brilliant art. My only slight complaint is that I'd like to have seen them on a larger stage so they could have performed more with the large props they use. (ie: those pylons in the picture). Still amazing with or without the pylons though. Truly a Class Act.

This show may have been good for a martial arts purist, but I was disappointed. Too few props were used, and the ones that were used were many times only simulated weapons. The backdrops were nice, but the clothing worn by the monks never changed. Too much of the show was repetitive bursts of the same movements. The same show could have been done 2000 years ago, which may appeal to some.

Went expecting more acrobatics and martial arts. I realize they cannot be doing this all time, and have to take a break, but there was too much "filler" in the show. Bringing audience members on stage to have them "try" the stunts was not what I paid for. The show is geared more towards kids, not adults. Plastic weapons were used, and it was obvious. Also, there was none of what is pictured in their main photo (balancing on logs). Overall very disappointed, should've stayed at home and watched a Jackie Chan film.

I've been intrested in the martial arts for many years, and found myself wanting to learn more. The Shaolin Monks have always peeked my intrest. They have a balance of their Mind, Spirit, and Body. And I can honestly say that it really showed in their performance. The connection they have with their KI, or CHI, was just amazing. It made everything very intense, and so flawless. I would love to see them again. I've watched the DVD, but watching them live is so much more worth it. Even if I weren't a pupil of the martial arts, they have a way of putting on a performance that keeps the audience wanting more. The energy they put out reflected back at them from the whole Concert Hall. You could just hear the "Wow" from everyone in the audience. Please bring them back!!!!!

The show was great. The scene pictured of the monks balancing on poles wasn't performed, but there were plenty of incredible feats of strength, flexibility, and martial arts ability. I was not able to get the full effect of the show because the seating arrangement at the Neal Blaisdell Concert Hall sucks. I paid over $60 each ticket only to have a very tall guy with a big head sit in front of me. I would've had a better view from the $40 balcony seats.

I would have liked the production to give the audience some history of the warriors and the meaning of their moves. Also more and better scenery. With todays TV we see gymnasts, contortionists, break dancers, all sorts of Asian warrior moves. This show needed to have more meaning. We (3 of us) left at intermission.

If you enjoy watching a bunch of dudes with shaved heads and robes sitting around and slowly moving their arms around like synchronized swimmers - this is the show for you. I kept hoping things would pick up, but sadly it didn't. Every now and then they would flail around quickly with plastic and rubber weapons but that was rarely seen. Imagine a Jackie Chan movie starring Jackie Chan 15 times with no jokes and the same bad acting. Their attempt at humor was having people from the audience try to do what they are doing. Of course audience members are not going to be able to keep up with the performers who have dedicated their whole lives to this so obviously they will be slow and need a ton of corrections - hilarious.- Not! If you want to see what 80% of the show is about, go to any karate studio and watch a group of kids follow the instructors every move in sync. No story, no rhyme or reason, no sets, 3 props, 1 backdrop. Yeah. I know. You've been warned.

We really enjoyed the show. The feats they performed were outstanding. We were truly amazed at the ability to almost stop or go into slow motion while in the air. One thing we would like to see added is some narrative telling the story of the young men starting out and their progression as they have grown. Also, the significance of the robe colors as they pertain to the different masters and their individual status. Overall, we loved the show.

AnOldMan
Interspersed between average acrobatics and martial arts demonstrations, the Shaolin Warriors did demonstrate some breathtaking stunts - the man lying between a bed of sword blades and a bed of nails with another man laying on top of those double-sided nails with a stone slab on top of him that is shattered by a man welding a sludge hammer - and then there's the man with rock hard abdoman taking several pokes from heavy log - and more awsome was the man who placed the sharp point of a spear just under his collarbone and then used force from the weight of his body to bend the wooden shaft of that spear. Those were the highlights of the entertainment. The rest of the stuff, martial arts demonstrations, weapon welding demonstrations, some routine acrobatics, and a less than dramatic story line of a young boy training to be a warrior and his ultimate graduation, were all filler. It just wasn't worth the $112 per ticket (near stage) for the event.

This was a very cool show. They brought audience members up on stage. The amount of physical control these guys have over their bodies is ridiculous. It definitely helps to have some knowledge of Kung Fu before you go, as there is no explaination of what is going on. I mean, when the guy puts the spears to his throat you get it. But some of the appreciation for what you're seeing will be lost if you don't have some background info. Fascinating from a cultural perspective. The Shaolin are very cool people. Beautiful. Hard to believe people can do that stuff.
