The show has many talented performers that will keep you capitivated with their singing and tap-dancing. As a South African I see many shows back home. This show reminded me much of the type of dance and singing that the South African Cape Coloureds could relate to the District Six era. This was the corresponding era for those that lived in Harlem back in the day. The show was very alive. Biggest disappointment was that Patti Labelle didn't perform and there was no formal announcement to this fact. Only a notice in the Playbill booklet.

The play was not only unforgettable but had people snapping their fingers. The dancing & acrobatics were phenomenal. The singing brought back the charm & sassy emotions of the Jazz era. Dule Hill was a cool, smooth host and proved to be very versatile. Fantasia was fantastic, showing that she is definitely a diva. The colorful wardrobe, set & band made me feel that I was transported to a 1930 nightclub.

It was outstanding! Not one dull moment. Everyone was superb. We went because of Fantasia. I've been a fan of hers since the first time I saw her in auditions for "American Idol". Her voice always gives me goose bumps and she did it again here. The whole emsemble is so talented. Adriane Lenox and Carmen Ruby Floyd are extraordinary. "After Midnight" is rollicking good fun from beginning to end!!!

I cannot say enough good things about this show. The music was wonderful. The dancers were fantastic and the costumes were perfect. This show doesn't have an intermission but doesn't need one. It is a fast paced, highly explosive show and it makes you want to get up and dance in the aisles. The band/orchestra is top notch. One of the best shows I've seen in a very long time.

I have to admit that it is exciting from the beginning to the end. It leaves you wanting more. The show is of excellent quality. Fantasia gives her all. The music, dancing, and singing -incredible. This show should receive an award. You will truly be entertained. The entire cast rocks! You will not be disappointed. I plan to attend again. P.S. There is one profanity word that they use. The show is much too good for that.

It would have been nice to see some of the performers imitating the actual Jazz greats a little more. The tap was nice, but too much. After a while I felt I was in a Minstrel show & the only thing missing was blackface. Sorry, not for me!

Fantasia's voice was phenomenal so crystal clear and her preformance was grand. Fantasia is a class act. She is truly a people person and very grounded. I love how she connected with her audience. After her performance she was very engaging she was not full of herself, Fantasia allowed her guest to take pictures with her and she signed audrograph. This experience keeps me wanting to see her over and over again not just in stage plays but in concerts as well. Fantastic Fantasia

I had such a fabulous time seeing this show, After Midnight. The show had a lot of energy so there was never a dull moment. The cast is beautiful and very talented which makes me sad that After MIdnight has closed. It's a shame to see all that talent go away. I hope the show will come back in the near future. I would like to see it again. Patti La Belle was fantastic! She has such a beautiful and powerful voice. She brought the house down! Dule Hill was great also. I didn't know that he has such a nice singing voice.

This is one of the best shows that I have seen on Broadway and definitely the best dancing I have ever seen live!! I do not understand why this show closed as I would definitely have seen again! The sets, the cast, the costumes, the orchestra, the music, the acting and the dancing were just mesmerizing!

This show was filled with extremely talented dancers and musicians. They were upbeat, energetic, happy. I so thoroughly enjoyed this production and compared the quality of dance to seeing the late great Gregory Hines on Broadway and Savion Glover. This talented group of performers deserve to have had a very long run. It is so sad that I saw the closing show since I would have gone again with friends.

After Midnight was superb. This was the second time I had seen the show. Each time had a different star. This time with Patti LaBelle was real good but Patti's moos was affected by the fact that it was the last show and it was closing that day.

I didn't expect to have seats so close to the stage. The entire production made you feel like you were part of a real Cotton Club. The dancing and singing were AMAZING! The entire cast are extremely talented! It was also an honor to see Patti LaBelle perform live on stage. The orchestra was visible to the entire audience and gave a breathtaking performance. It is definitely a must see event.

Loved the dancing and singing. I wish Dule had danced more. I was shocked to hear his really nice voice. The tap dancer was immaculate. That thin girl with the jokes about her man, was super great. She reminded me of Melba Moore. I saw Patti, now I'm going back to see my other girl, Natalie Cole. Don't have a ticket????????? Get one. Patty could'nt hit the high notes, kept coughing, but I still loved the show.

This was one of the most elegant, glamorous productions I've ever seen. I am both saddened and surprised that they had to end their run early. I worry that the show didn't do that well for two reasons: 1. People under say, 35, don't know what the Cotton Club was, and don't know about the exciting history and significance of Harlem. 2. The trend of making Broadway shows out of movies. There is nothing wrong with that in theory, but now shows that don't have the name recognition of films like Legally Blonde or film-tv-comics like Spiderman don't have a real chance. That's not what theatre is supposed to be about. People are losing the ability to recognize and appreciate originality.

It was a terrible day to come into NYC with monsoon-like rains on Wednesday, April 30th! However, the sun came out inside the Brooks-Atkins Theatre when "After Midnight" began and the curtain went up!! We loved the show from the first word spoken to the last note that was played. And, I cannot tell you which was the best component of the show!! Loved it all, the Lincoln Center Big Jazz Band, the dancing and the singing!! The show certainly brought back that great era of wonderful big band jazz and the "jammin" at the Cotton Club "After Midnight" when the musicians "relaxed" after many hours of actual shows.

I thoroughly enjoyed this musical which had a lot of exciting dancing and singing. I will definitely recommend this musical to my family and friends. Vanessa Williams sang her heart out and Dule Hill gave an outstanding performance. The cast of dancers did exciting routines and the cast of singers did a great performance. This performance was unforgettable and the musical had me on my feet at the end of the performance. The musical was very exhilarating, refreshing and joyful. I think that this is one of the best musicals that I have seen in quite some time and would recommend it to everyone.

I loved the show. It was very entertaining and the talent of the cast was fabulous. The stage reflected the times....The Cotton Club after Midnight until k.d. Lang showed up...out of character and out of place!!! She was no Lena Horne at all. Every time she came out, I felt like there was a big pause in my head in the performance. So make sure you find out who will be the guest for your show. I would have left my tickets on line had I known she would be the guest. I'm sure she is a good singer, but out of place and visible an eye sore in this Cotton Club story.

Go and see this show. It is joyous and uplifting, full of superbly talented singers & dancers. Kd lang is sublime and her versions of jazz classics like Stormy Weather will knock your socks off! She is in her element when clowning around with the rest of the cast. We loved the whole show so much we just had to see it again. Second time around was just as good as the first.

I THOROUGHLY enjoyed my After Midnight experience! Fantasia's performance was superb and she totally embodied the essence the legendary jazz performers whose songs haunt our souls. The cast of singers and dancers , most notably Dule Hill and Adriane Lenox, (I can really name the entire cast) were spectacular! The stage production, musicians, choreography\u2026the entire production was just stupendous. What a successful tribute to the music and cultural experience of Harlem in the 20 s and 30 s !

The performers were very talented and in sync, the variety of acts were nice, and i loved the choreography. I was so happy to hear those old jazz songs and they were well played, although I was looking fwd to seeing Mr Marsalis. I also enjoyed the high energy and nice costumes. The sets were simple and elegant and not having an intermission was great. I was sad that Fantasia didnt't come out afterwards, but Dule Hill made up for it. It was a fantastic start to my Black History Month.

I almost thought that Fantasta wasn't in the play because her appearance came in so late. She could have had more singing roles; Dule' was outstanding and his role was "major". The dancing was awesome; the story line was easy to follow as well.

Wow, was all I kept saying throughout this performance. I've seen Fantasia many times and in many roles, but this one took my breath away. All of the cast - dancers, singers, musicians - are brilliant; but Fantasia is definitely the highlight. She is very poised, voice very controlled but yet she is still Fantasia - meaning you can see & hear the raw emotion in every note she belts out. To see her dancing in tune with the rest of the company, embodying the jazz greats and enjoying every single moment of it - literally brought tears to my eyes. So happy for her & so happy to see her shine so bright!!

Lively show - extreme talent! One issue I had was w/seating (ticket pricing). I wanted to bring other guests who are from this era, and would have appreciated seeing this show. They have limited mobility, & their seats would have cost $150.00 each. There were no elevators - so they didn't have access to other seats (& cheaper seats).

This talent in this show was amazing. It was such a pleasure to see so many types of dancing -- tap, soft shoe, acrobatic, clever group dancing. And it was suitable for all ages -- nothing obscene or violent. The quality of the performers -- dancers, singers, and band -- was wonderful and they appeared to be having such a good time. This Musical was Amazing, I wanted to see it when Toni Braxton was in it but I am glad I waited because Patti LaBelle was great. Would definitely recommend it.

The Play & Cast were excellent with the exception of Ms. LaBelle she had the least amount of lines & face time and her voice was HORRIBLE.

I saw the Saturday matinee with my mom on June 28 a day before they closed. Julius "IGlide" Chisholm is phenomenal. Patti is patti. She is the best. She never missed a performance, and she gave 110% at age 70. She is a force to be reckoned with. The whole show was so awesome.

A rare night where the smiles only give way to cheers and applause. Thoroughly entertaining with so many moments of flat out brilliance, talent and athleticism, your biggest regret will be that the show ends. If there was ever proof that leaving your audience wanting more and not wanting to go home, After Midnight is it.

After Midnight is a great show to see, it was like seeing One of my favorite movies live, Cotton Club with an all star cast including Gregory Hines. After Midnight did an amazing job with performing the music from the movie. All the Acts gave stellar performance, the orchestra was dynamite and Patti Patti Patti Ms LaBelle to the rest of you Oooo Wii Love her OUTSTANDING

I bought tickets for After Midnight before I heard the show was being cancelled. What a spectacular show. The acting and music met my standards and exceeded. Patti LaBelle Dule Hill and the entire cast kept me waiting for the next note. I'm truly glad I got a chance to see the show.

After Midnight was an awesome performance. The choreography, energy, and infectious cast interaction was phenomenal. It clearly captured Duke Ellington s music and the Cotton Club era. Any evocative content, which could have been lewd, was presented tastefully. Patti LaBelle was unmistakably the icing on an already scrumptious cake. Upon departure, notwithstanding the standing ovation, the excited chatter and broad smiles indicate many left the performance feeling exhilarated. I left, always considering time management and finances, feeling the 1.5 spectacular hours was a well spent expenditure.

Patti LaBelle blew me away - not just her voice, but her energy and the way she just became a part of the company. The music was played so we were dancing in our seats. And the singers seemed to experience the music they were singing: blues were sad, other songs were joyous. I can't even come up with adjectives to describe the dancers. They literally threw themselves into the performances; and each dancer seemed able to perform a variety of styles. The have to be seen to understand how truly exciting and wonderful they are. Dule Hill was perfect as the emcee. He read the lines of poetry, then slid out of sight. His own dancing was not shabby at all, but he did not try to upstage anyone. I would have enjoyed seeing more of him, but I understand why his role needed to be understated for the cohesiveness of the show. Only 4 days left - go see it.

I am an old woman (80 years old) and, as the wife of a theatre critic, have seen hundreds of Broadway plays/musicals. I was totally carried away by AFTER MIDNIGHT and think it belongs in the category of musical greats. I don't understand why it's closing??

This show was absolutely amazing!!! The dancing was well choreographed. The light skinned deep red lipped curvy sister that did this voice trick song, sang like a bird and Patti voice demanded a standing ovation. My heart was over joyed watching this show. Great Job!!!

It was a joy from beginning to end. The performers were exceptional. It looked as if they were working to be the best for the audience and for each other. We added the play at the last minute after friends recommended it in glowing terms. We felt blessed to have had the opportunity to witness the talent. Our teen son was mesmerized, he loved it too.

The show was just amazin, so much energy! The ending was just incredible, it got everyone on their feet! This was definetly one of the best broadway shows I have ever seen. I watched Motown on the same afternoon, the songs were good but the energy was just not the same. After Minight was the whole package!

Why is this closing?? This show was fantastic. The talent is incredible. I can't even believe this is closing. One of the best I've seen this year. If it wasn't closing, I would''ve definitely seen it again.
