Casio Kids was SUCH a treat. Their style, instrumentation, their modesty-- it was a whirl of absolute goodness. They exuded passion from all their songs, and they were truly appreciative of the crowd. They even came out and talked to my friends and I, took their camera out and we had group shots! They were so, so friendly! Such fresh beats! And don't get me started about STRFCKR... it was mind-blowing. They somehow magically intertwined their heart-stopping, planet-exploding music with the colorful make-up they put on. The energy that flowed between the audience and the stage was an ocean of bliss, colors, limbs and sweat and positive vibes. They played all my favorite songs, interwove the super fast, dancey songs with the slow bouncey ones smoothly. Most importantly, they really, really looked like they were enjoying themselves because we were too. They even let us all go on stage and dance. It was a mad rush--exhilarating--pure anarchy: I couldn't believe they let us do that! Afterwards, my friends and I got to meet a few of them too! :)

Saw them back in September last year, and it was by far one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life. The show was in Nashville, I live in Ohio. I didn't realize the time zones switch there, so me and my friend were waiting there an hour beforehand. As we're standing there, their tour manager popped his head out the front door and asked if we were the people they were on the phone with. After explaining that we weren't, he told us to come around back anyways. Once we got there, he explained to us that they needed help blowing up balloons for the show, and that if we helped we could get free merch and dance on stage. Essentially, we got to hang out with the band backstage, blow up some balloons, and then chose costumes for when we were allowed onstage. I was dressed as Gumby, and when the tour manager waved me to the front of the stage to give high 5s, the crowd grabbed me in and I got to go crowd surfing for my first time ever. As for the actual music, everybody was incredible. Feelings was the first opener, and while far from the best at show, their music fit the vibe perfectly. Next up was Chrome Sparks, who had fantastic synth beats with clips of random movies/animes, as well as various patterns that would morph on a projector screen behind them as they played. Finally, Starfucker absolutely killed it. They had just the right mix of their more popular songs that everyone could sing along to and their newer songs off of Miracle Mile. Their encore of "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, was as always very welcome.
