It's great to hear raw talent like that - Very impressed with the songwriting and unique voice of both artists - Highly recommend seeing Joe Pug! I'm also very happy I came across Strand of Oaks - such a cool and powerful voice, great songwriting and energy for a one man band. The Turf club is one of those places where it seems hard for the artist to compete with the crowd noise, but both artists handled it very well - I recommend and will see again - Thanks

Joe Pug solo reprising most...not all. of his body of work. Earnest but funny; excellent performance. A wonderful songwriter and unique sound. Joe, play "The Door Was Always Open" at the next stop!

The show was small and intimate. David Ramirez was absolutely amazing. His voice and soul shawn through in every song. I would recommend him to anyone. Joe Pug was half comedian half legitimate singer-songwriter. He involved the crowd for a simply spectacular performance.

I don't think you can have a full appreciation of Joe Pug until you've been to his live show. This was my third show and each one was an amazing. The venues have always been small and intimate which adds to the charm of the whole experience. He is one of the best kept secrets in music. Joe draws everyone in as if we were all long time friends and never disappoints his audience. His charisma and talent is mesmerizing and overall the performance leaves you feeling so good and lucky to have participated, it actually warms your heart!

The progression of songs was well thought out, provoking, and made for one of the best shows I've seen in a while. Further, Joe and the rest of the members hung around after the show and mingled. It made the night feel personal and memorable. Not only do I have an appreciation for his music, but now, also, for him (and his band members) as a person. I hope and wish for his continued success.

Joe played a great show once again. He played a lot of his older songs, joked with the crowd, and, as always, displayed that infectious passion as he performed.

He is an amazing guitar/harmonica player. This was the 2nd time I saw him, and the 1st was this past summer in Chapel Hill, NC. I went to see a cheap concert and had no clue who he was, but was blown away by his music. I don't listen to country or folk, but seeing him live made me a huge fan. I plan on seeing him in Ann Arbor, MI in two months! Before going to the shows, you should know his music. My favorites are "How good you are", the hymns, and "not so sure".

This was a great show! Joe Pug and his two openers are all incredibly talented musicians with great stage presence. I also LOVED the venue. The Mercury Lounge is a small, comfortable venue - a great place to see a show.

While Joe Pug was the headliner, he should have been the opener. David Wax Museum was the better band. Based on their performance here, we are planning on driving up to CT when they are doing a show there in July. The closing number with both bands on stage was very good. Not that Joe Pug was bad, he was quite good; but David Wax had the energy and the pop that night.

The venue of the show was like nothing I have ever been to. It had a small pub feel which made it such an intimate setting. there couldn't have been more than 100 people there which was great. I stood about 5 feet from my favorite artist and got to meet him after the show! He gave me an autograph, free cd, and a picture with him. It was the most personal experience I have ever felt with an artist. Loved every second of it.
