System of a Down

System of a Down

Formed in California in the mid-'90s, System of a Down delivers a thrilling mix of thrash metal, sharp lyrics and unusual melodies. The music of System of a Down, which is full of powerful guitar work and vicious screams, has been compared to Korn and other performers of heavy, genre-defying rock. A band that is as playful as it is serious, System of a Down offers intelligent rock with a rebellious spirit.

The show was outstanding. For a band that started many years ago, I've got to say they still have what it takes to put on a good, no, great show! I only wish I was closer to the stage!

This was my first time ever seeing SOAD, I never thought in my life I'd see them. But once the tickets were announced I jumped the gun and let say this. The concert was a master piece, from the lights, the presentation of the genocide video to the sound of the band was amazing. Lost my voice right after the concert and still haven't been able to recover. I really hope SOAD come back and for sure I will be there in the front row again. Favorite Moment When Serj spoke about the Armenian Genocide, but how we as humans should learn from mistakes but pay for them in the right way and not through violence. Also Daron speaking about his 109 year old grandmother and how she was inspirational person to him, Shavo being over us bassing out and John showing love to his fans at the end

The concert started early (8:45 PM) but was classic SOAD! Other then one song they sounded great after being a part for so long. To the people in the pit I commend you as it was brutal/friendly at the same time. A great show with great people and my perma smile has finally left my face after 2 days :)

To start, their opening act Gorgol Bordello really got the crowd going. When System came on everyone was out of their seats and singing/dancing along. My favorite was when the entire packed stadium would sing along with the melodies. I LOVED IT, such an amazing feeling. There was even a 12 year old boy in front of me who knew every word to every song.

I have seen SOAD 6 times and I would travel to Europe to see them if Ticketmaster had them available...lol Anyway, I have been to over 300 different shows and concerts and by far, SOAD IS THE BEST. The cumulative, artistic expression is so genuine and heartfelt. Energizing and magical.

With the amount of thought and meaning they put into their music, system has earned the title as one of the best bands. With a possible return if Serj's new album fails, they will once again show that they are the best. no other band can claim that everyone of their songs has as strong of a meaning as systems.

the best band in the world. If you give it time and like the creativity of something different. This band might not make sense if you just hear them a few times. get into there music and every song can mean 10 things witch is really cool. Front and back.Top 20 guitars in Rolling Stones magazine and a drummer that is so talented fast and good at playing catchy music with a basses and singer that make music good for all it can be.

I went to the San Diego show on the 21st and was in the pit and SOAD was bad ass. I was a lucky fan that also got pit tickets in Irvine and they KILLED it. The show in Irvine blew the show in San Diego out of the water. Don't know if its because it was the last show of the North America portion or not but regardless, they rocked out. I had tickets to Las Vegas show as well but I had previously committed to something else so I was unable to go. I didn't get L.A. tickets this time around. My original seats were in Loge 7 and I watched Gogol Bordello from there but then headed to the pit for SOAD. I am so glad I was a part of this show.

The very first Concert I've ever be too was System of a down in 2005 at Kroq Almost Acoustic Christmas, and after 7 long years, System is finally back! and Wow! what a come back, The PIT was insane & incredible from the start with "Prison Song" to the end with "Sugar". They played everything the fans wanted to hear, and i enjoyed every second of it. This was a show NOT to be missed and i'll never forget my experience seeing System of a Down in PIT @ The Forum. \\m/

System of a Down was as awsome as I remember from the last time I saw them at the Long Beach Convention Center. However, the first thing that hit me immediately as they began the evening at the Great Western Forum in LA was the poor sound quality. Having seen them before, and having knowledge of how sound systems work, I waited for the adjustments. After about 20 minutes I realized I was waiting in vain. I got up and walked from our seats in Colonade 9, and headed around more towards center stage. Though I was now two times further from the stage, the sound quality was two hundred percent better, and it was as I remember SoaD. They ARE still awsome. The Forum is not. Bottom line...if you're going to see a show at the Forum, focus on reserving a place closer to center stage for their PA system is highly directional. SoaD...Still rockin' HARD!!!

The Pearl is a great place to see a show. System of a Down played a killer show, the best I've seen. I loved that the audience sang along with Serj. The repeated "We love you" was nice. I'm glad System is back and they seem happy to be playing again.

I was introduced to SOAD by my son three years ago, at 15- when he discovered them at the time he was starting to play his guitar. He was playing Spiders and my mouth dropped open and I said, "WHO is that!?" A love affair was born and a dream realized when he was with me to experience this ONCE in a LIFETIME event! Thinking they had completely disbanded I was invited (cuz I had LIKED their FB) by them to purchase tickets pre-sale when they extended their European tour! I JUMPED at it and when I realized that this venue seats 3500.....I knew it would be amazing! I play Toxicity constantly in my truck because it is an insanely upbeat, scream while you're driving kind of album, and I was THRILLED to hear nearly all of the songs played! My only disappintment was that we couldn't convince them to come back for just one encore! However, having said that? They totally KILLED the whole set with pure CONSTANT energy-and I'll NEVER forget it. THANK YOU, THANK YOU BOYS!

SOAD and the crowd in San Diego did not disappoint! I had came down here for Ozzfest a few years back when System headlined. System was good but the crowd didn't seem as into it as this time around. I live super close to Glen Helen and I am more used to that crowd I guess. What an energetic crowd this time around. It was an awesome set by both bands too. We had an awesome time. Thanks for the great show SOAD, Gogol, Livenation and San Diego! Can't wait till I see them again in Irvine!

First of all, System of a Down is one of my favorite all time bands. When I first saw a presale, I snatched up the opportunity to get tickets; I live in Orange County so to head all the way down to Chula Vista is a big thing. Gogol Bordello was the opening band, and even though I've never heard of them before, they were awesome and really fun group. Next, System started their set after a half hour wait. You could feel the energy coming off of the almost sold out crowd. The energy from System of a Down and the audience themselves was just spectacular! Serj and the rest of his crew are fantastic performers which invited audience participation on many occasions. All throughout the set I, along with the rest of the audience, were signing our hearts out! I was lucky enough to get pretty decent seats in the first section, but the perspective from any seat in the amphitheater. Needless to say, I will highly recommend seeing SOAD if you ever have a chance; my hoarse voice will attest to that! Take my review as you may, but I really don't write any, so that says something in of itself.

I went to see System of a Down in Albuquerque, New Mexico and they put on a show like no other. It was the first time I had seen them in person and they put on a really good and fun show that I would highly recommend for anyone to go see for themselves. It was too long of a layoff for the guys but I'm glad they're finally back after a 5 year hiatus. The show was pretty close to a sellout, the lawn was almost packed all the way around and the seats were completely full. System of a Down played a good 2 hour plus show and I enjoyed every moment of it.

I go to a LOT of shows. At this point, it takes a fair amount to impress me. SOAD knocked me out on a few levels. I don't need to tell anyone reading this review how awesome they are as an artistic outfit. What killed me at their show was their enthusiasm and the LOVE that shines from their performance and the way the relate to their fans. The love is reciprocated and the energy just multiplies and explodes. I was surprised to see, having not really kept track of them the last few years, that they're not out plugging a new record or promoting ANYTHING. They're just touring because they're good at it, it's what they do, and they clearly care about their fan base. I really think their music is some of the most important, relevant, and powerful art out there today, bar none. What they say is what I feel and experience in my culture and my community. Very damn few artists ever capture that at any level. They NAIL it.

The show was Awesome of course, it was SOAD. Fiddlers Green, now called Comfort Dental Amphitheater is always the best next to red rocks to see a show. The only problem is the seats. They need to be re-labeled. We walked up and down trying to find "cc" row. There was others and staff that was also confused. There is a "CCC" but it is the same aisle, so confusing!!!!!!!!! The real "ccc" aisle was down by the front standing section. That is my only complaint! This is a amphitheater where the front is the only way to go- if you want to actually see the bands. I do wish though that there would of been a on-chore, the fans just left and we were thinking where is the on-chore?

I've never seen SOAD live before, aside from the videos I've watched on YouTube. I was a little nervous to see them live because the clips have been very hit and miss, but thankfully my fears quickly disappeared when they started. Great show! 29 songs? That's the way you please your fans. It was quite the rainy night, but my my smart planning allowed me to remain dry for the show. They also had $5 ponchos going around for people without protection. Gogol Bordello was a great opening act as always. My seats were great, the atmosphere was perfect, and it was just an all around fantastic night!

I've never seen them perform live before, other than from the videos I've watched on YouTube. The performances seemed very hit and miss, so I was a bit nervous about seeing them live. Boy was I worked up over nothing, they were amazing! Not to mention they played 29 songs which is a LOT for a show. Granted a lot of the songs are short, but w/e. A real fan pleaser. The rain was coming down nicely but I had plenty of rain-gear. Plus there were plenty of $5 ponchos going around for the less fortunate. It was also my first time at Comfort Dental. Not a bad place, sort of a poor man's Red Rocks. Had great seats, a great time, and great memories. Gogol Bordello was great as well.

Overall, as I said above, the band was INCREDIBLE! The Lead vocals, vocal harmonies, guitarists, bassist and drummer...AWESOME! The sound quality was GREAT, as well as the light show. What amazed me is that this band had the crowd in the palm of their hands. It seemed as if everyone there knew the lyrics of all of their songs. It was an absolutely amazing night!!! It was a great show. I didn't know what to think about the opening band; Gogol Bordello. I had never heard of them. They were one of the best live acts that I've ever seen. I am now a big fan. System of a Down was great too, they had a lot of energy and played pretty much their greatest hits. I could have personally used an encore or two with some more obscure songs like their covers of Metro or Snowblind but oh well.

I've seen them 3 times before, one of those times at this same venue. The energy was just so high, the crowd was feeding their energy back to the band... they busted their butts putting out song after song with no breaks. The opening band was very high energy as well, the crowd seemed to enjoy them a lot, too! But System put on a performance that I can't compare to any other of the many shows I've seen, of many different bands.

Awesome energy, they put on a two hour set with songs from all their albums but "Steal this Album!" and sounded great. Intense from beginning to end, every song sounded great, I sang every word and was surprised to be able to talk, somewhat, just a few hours after, but my voice is still a little bit off. One of the best shows I've ever seen, and I've seen some GREAT concerts! Worth every mile of the 600 I drove round-trip from Spokane to Seattle and back. I'm so glad that they got back together and I finally get to scratch them from the very short list of bands I need to see live, System(not anymore), Rage Against the Machine, Tool. That's the list. I hope they put out a new album, as I heard they were going to, and tour some more, because I want to see them live again.

System of a down was amazing of course! And since it was their only show around they did it very well. i hope to see them again in the future. It was pretty hard for me to see the members clearly since I was pretty far and don't have 20/20 vision but they have screens on the side that show everything so that was helpful for me. Hollywood bowl is always a nice place to be at. It's out in the open so it doesn't get hot like some other places do. Seats were easy to find and the employees help you to find your seats.

I had high hopes for this show after waiting so long to finally see SOAD, I was definitely NOT disappointed! I have been to many shows over the years with multiple "headline" bands and nothing comes close to the show that Serj and the boys put on. No frills, no speeches or gimmicks, just hit after hit after hit, They played an ENORMOUS setlist starting with Prison song and a dramatic entrance, and finished strong with Sugar. They pretty much played every song you could hope for. The crowd was amazing, energetic, and LOUD, I was about 6 people from the front, and at times you couldn't hear the band over the crowd singing so loudly! This was a great show and I will definitely be first in line next time they tour, hopefully wont have to travel 8 hours again, but would go even farther if necessary, it was THAT good. After the show we walked around the back of the arena on our way to our hotel and ended up seeing John Dolmayan (SOAD drummer)!! Me, my GF, and my brother all got an autograph and talked with him a bit, it was awesome!!

Oh, was this a fun one! My son and I sat in the front row next to the stage. Despite the overly loud sound, it was so so good. I did not sit through the Def Tones, as I wanted to save my ears. From the moment Serj, Daron, and Shavo appeared as the white curtain rose, it was non stop musical energy and fun. "They're trying to build a prison," Serj whispered, and game on. By the time they were playing B.Y.O.B. , I looked over the audience on the floor and thousands of arms were thumping forward with each beat. Daron was sharp and crisp on Lonely Day and Radio/Video. Serj was at his best, growling, crooning, yelling, and rising and falling melodically with his ooh oohs and ah ahs. Hypnotize, Question, Chop Suey all were impeccable. And by the time we got to Toxicity the audience was fully into it.. singing, shouting, smiling with all their energy. "There's too much disorder," Serj sang, and it was joyous disorder. I can't believe anyone went home disappointed, (or able to hear). And... it only took a half hour to get out of the Allstate Arena parking lot. Great event.

System of a Down is and has always been my all time favorite band and to finally be able to see them was completely incredible!! The sound was amazing, so kudos to the live sounds engineers and to System of a Down for playing extremely well!

This is the first time I've seen SOAD play in 10 years (and four days). They sound even better now than they did 10 years go. They are really in sync with one another. It is sad to know that this may be their last show ever, but I have high hopes for another album and tour in the future! The Deftones were also amazing, but the acoustics of the arena didn't suit them quite as well. Still put on an amazing show. And it was great to see Chino come back out and perform with SOAD. I wouldn't think twice about going to see either band if had the chance again!

Awesome show, so much energy, seemed like you didn't have time to breathe in between songs about 2 hours of non stop metal, one of the best shows I've ever seen and I been to over a hundred concerts, I would reccomend them to anyone and I will definitely see them again

System of a down put on the best show I have ever been to. I have seen Metallica, motley Crue, lamb of god, Godsmack, avenged sevenfold, korn, slipknot, you name it, I've seen it. This was a better show than all of those others combined. One I will never forget.

I knew they would be good, but didn't expect them to be great. The sound quality, musicianship, song selection, crowd participation and overall energy was amazing. I am in my 40's and have seen many many concerts over the years, and this is easily one of the best ones I have ever seen. If you are even a slight fan, you need to go see them, you won't regret it!

Once again, SOAD doesn't disappoint. They play one song after the other and leave no time for idle chit chat which makes for more play time! I mean 24 songs?!! NO ONE plays that many songs! They sound just like their albums live and they just pour their hearts & souls into each performance. I am so glad they got back together for this short tour! Them being away as long as they have has been awful for us die hard fans! If you can't get pumped up at a System show, then you need to check your pulse! They are INCREDIBLE each and EVERY time! See ozzwing youtube page for more videos than just the one posted.

Deftones and System of a Down played an excellent show together. I really went to see the Deftones, who played a very short set (about 6 songs) but had a ton of energy and played the songs that any fan would want to hear. System was AMAZING!! I've always liked them as a band, but they were never on the top of my list of bands to see, but they have changed my mind. There were no stage gimmics, it was just pure hard rock that didn't stop. No stopping to talk about politics, or what the singer had for breakfast. No stopping to placate to the crowd by telling us how much they love our city. No really long drum or guitar solos that take the crowd out of it. Just great song after great song. Definitely recomend this show!!

The concert was AMAZING! I have been trying to see them play since I was 15. was so excited. I have been to so many concerts this summer and this was by far the best one! It poured, I got soaked. It didn't matter. We all stayed and jumped and head banged and rocked out. The set was incredible! I attached a link to the set we listened to. They played for like 2 hours. I can't wait to see them again hopefully very soon!

System was amazing! They played a great set, their best songs ever..the venue sucked a little, cause chairs were everywhere, but i guess it was safer this way, at least one had some private space unlike in other venues. There was lightning thunder, a big storm, bzut idont think that a single person left! Anyways, it was awesome. Great band, great concert. SYSTEM KICKED ASS

They completed my dad and my metal concerts that we have been to. They blew our mind's and were as great as we imagined they have the most unique music and I am glad they got back together can't wait to hear another amazing album from this group they are the best thrash metal out there \\m/ This made it up to my dad when he missed them at ozzfest 2007. He got to see all the bands he missed that he wanted to see like disturbed, ozzy and missing was SOAD!!! This concert was awesome and it was pretty wickid having Gogol bordello open up. I started listening to their music and got into it before I seen them live So everybody start wearing da purple for him now!!! This concert was well worth the trip form Hood River, Or to seattle.

I came to see Gogol Bordello (Denver) because they are my favorite band. They were amazing. I just wished they played longer... it was very energetic, and loud. Plus it was an outdoor concert, and it was raining.. which added on to the effect that we ALL felt bad ass. I don't really like system of a down, but it was REALLY fun. I danced, and screamed.. and they were loud and energetic. I hope to see them again!

Oh man this day was just overwhelming for me! I had been waiting since I was 12 to see system of a down live and it was just perfect! It was a great concert, everyone there was feeling the good vibes coming from the stage, and everyone rocked out like there was no tomorrow! System of A Down still knows how to do it, and it has to happen again! So much energy and good music!

I made a long 2000 mile journey for this show, as System is one of the first bands I grew attached to as a teen. This was my 2nd time seeing them (Chicago 2012). My seats were in Section 101, Row 12...the view is nice for any future buyers looking at this review. Great show from start to finish..great mix of all 5 albums.. the best set list they have put out in over 10 years. And the longest show they have ever played till this point. U-Fig, Dreaming, played live for the first time.. and rarely played songs such as Jet Pilot, Bubbles, CUBErt, Marmalade, Mr. Jack & Chic 'N' Stu. If you are a huge fan of this band and have any possible way to see them this tour might be the best time to see them. Hoping for a full U.S tour sometime in the future as it can be expensive to make long travels, thanks for reading!

This was seriously an amazing show!! System killed it on every level Serj can still put those vocals out like it's their first tour! The set was perfect and closing with sugar amped up the crowd. The forum is definitely a legit venue now apart from security being jerks about certain smoking activities going on but they gave up after a while. If system comes back at the end of their tour I'll be there for sure!! Thank you system of a down!!

I've been to 3 System of a Down shows and this was easily the best! The crowd was pumped, the band was pumped and the energy level in the building was insane! Probably the best concert I've ever been to. I was caught up in the music and enjoyed myself the whole time! They played a wide variety, from old stuff to new stuff and everything in between. They rocked, and they rocked HARD!

Even weeks later I am still thinking about the System of a Down show at the Bowl. It was epic! Crowd was on their feet the whole time singing all of the songs. The energy from System was intense. They played a 25 song set spanning their entire album collection. They took no breaks and never slowed down. I have seen them 2 other times before and they never let me down. Really hope they do another show out here next year.
