Kat is and extremely talented singer and song-writer. Her music is like old jazz standards but updated. I would say she could be the new Diana Krall. Everything she does is flawless!

From the moment she walked on stage, she captivated my attention. There may have been a world series game going on while she performed but at that moment I didn't care. Her unique voice and soul searing lyrics kept my attention the entire time.

The show was great! Kat was lovely, and bubbly, and in wonderful voice. The band was "spot on" as well.

I had not heard of Kat before the concert. Her sense of humor and storytelling was fresh and personable. Her petite size and red valentine"s dress matched perfectly with her melodic, sweet, innocent , take you to another place voice. The only thing missing was table service. I bought her latest album. Terrific !!!!

Really enjoyed the show. The music was beautiful and the venue was so intimate that all the seats were good seats.

Kat Edmonson was fantastic. Honestly, I think she sounds better in person. My hubby and I had planned a Valentine's for 2 and we got 2 tickets for a table front and center. Last minute, the sitter backed out and we scrambled to buy the other seats at our table to take my 10 year old daughter. SHE LOVED IT!! The band was also amazing. After the concert was a meet and greet where Kat signed merchandise and as she was walking to the table, she came straight up to my daughter and shook her hand and said "Hi, I'm Kat". Kat went to the merch table and when it was our turn, she took the time to talk to my daughter and encourage her to keep singing. Kat was so sweet. My hubby and I loved the concert but my daughter has told EVERYONE about Kat and will not take off her Kat tshirt.

Smart, funny and talented, Kat's performance a treat. Her voice reminds me of the great Billie Holiday along with the coolness of Chrissie Hynde. Her band is equally awesome. A good time, check it out if you get the chance.

I love the Empire when it's setup cabaret style. It's so nice and intimate even though the theater was packed. And both the opening act and then Kat and her band were fantastic. Such talented people.

Waste of money. Would like to see her when at least half of her back up is sober. The Sinclair is not worth even calling it a dive. The good news was the tickets were only 15 bucks. 14 more than it was worth.

From the opening melodies of Milow to the last strains of Kat's tunes the musical event was remarkable. Kat's accompaniment was stellar and her stage presence ethereal. On the venue - great visibility, wonderful sound, broad range of ages but not a fan of standing for the whole evening. Sculler's would be crazy not to book her at their venue next year. She would sell out both shows!

We had a okay meal, were shuttled out quickly to wait outside for the show to begin. Our dinner reservation was at 6:00. At 9:00 the show hadn't started. So sad that we didn't even get to hear Kat sing. Will never purchase tickets to a show here again or make a reservation.

Kat was spectacular and performed with perfection. The show advertised 8 o'clock start, the opening act was not on until 9.... The only down side was the venue had a restaurant in the entrance that had people who were talking through out the show. During the softer songs, it was distracting and at times very annoying. It would have been nice to have more options for seating, the cement floor was hard on the feet for 3 plus hours.

We've seen Kat twice now, once in a small venue at the Fairfield Theater (with about twenty people in the audience) and now at The Sinclair in Cambridge (with a crowd of several hundred). Both concerts were terrific. I guess folks are discovering how good Kat is. She's a brilliant singer-songwriter, but she's also unusually humble. She lets her fellow musicians shine, too. And shine they all did on Saturday night!

This performance by Kat Edmonson dramatically demonstrated the on going evolution of this brilliant singer. In the entire 90-minute set there were only a couple of moments when she showed the jazzy, nuanced singing style we fell in love with over the past couple of years. Back then she used exquisite timing and spacing to tie notes together in ways that made you ache. Only her singing of "Hopelessly Blue" evoked that feeling of being suspended on a thin, high wire about to fall. That right there was worth the show for me. Everything else was a new kind of revelation: singing full voiced with power, she's country, she's rock, she's power ballad, she's Broadway. Perhaps her long tour with Chris Issak has had an effect; she's now got his sort of loosey, goosey, music-for-the-joy of it feel. Entertaining, if no longer breathtakingly beautiful. The future sounds good. By the way, the venue is terribly uncomfortable: standing room only, unheated and rude staff. None of this was advertised at the ticket selling sites, including Ticketmaster. Over a hundred people showed up a typical time ahead of the advertised showtime to find out that the place was locked. It turned out that the showtime was 2 hours later. We stood in the cold & snow until they let us into this stalag of a place. Never again! Said many.

Well Kat arrived from Texas a few years back with a charm and interesting voice performing arrangements of the classic American jazz songbook. Few noticed her at first, but she became more brilliant as time past and her first cd was an amazing collection of songs. Through careful promotion she graced the Boston scene with a few shows, pulling out new numbers along the way. But each time around the sun she sailed, the long tail became dimmer, her shows less thrilling. Her second cd, full of lonely heartbreak songs abandoned the likes of Cole Porter, George Gershwin, and Johnny Mercer. Having drunk too much champagne, the party is over. Kat's latest gig at the Sinclair was yet another set promoting her second cd mixed in with a few 'Hallmark greeting' tinged numbers. Nothing really new or fantastic, nothing especially original or interesting. A new band with out Kevin Lovejoy on piano - what's with that? Where's the jazz Kat? The comet has lost her tail, next time around she may be even less visible, well at least by me. I don't know, maybe I'll take the long way home and skip her next show.
