Seeing someone as talented as Bobby Long in a tiny venue like Mercury Lounge was a real treat. His wonderful voice manages to sound even more incredible live. This was my second time seeing him and it certainly won't be my last. I don't think I'd ever get tired of watching him perform. He played mostly songs off his upcoming new album, which I hadn't heard before, but nevertheless enjoyed. He also did some favorites from A Winter Tale and Wishbone albums. Honestly, I would have loved to hear a few more older tunes, but he could pretty much stand up there and sing the phone book and I'd be happy. If you haven't seen him live and you ever get the chance, DO IT!

I know when I go to a show that it won't start exactly when the ticket says. I accept that we are not computers that go on at the tolling of the bells, but this event started over an hour late! I work and live over an hour from the venue, so when it started that late, I was annoyed. The TWO opening bands were good, but their style of music did not compliment Bobby Long's style of music in the least and when he did come out to play a song with Taurus (later also his backup band), he didn't even fact the audience. It was wierd. The first two bands set up and took down their sets really quickly which I appreciated, but then we had another 30 minute wait for Bobby and there wasn't much extra set up since the second band also backed him up, so what gives? Bobby's new sound is less bluesy and more country than his original tracks. Some of them work, some, like Penance Fire Blues, make me cry from disappointment. He playede a new song, Devil Moon, which was AMAZING - I'm looking forward to more like that and some Old favorites (sans a twangy guitar and ho down drums). I had to leave before the show ended, after A Winter's Tale, which did sound nice with the band.

I go to 2-3 concerts a month, mostly at The Basement in Columbus OH and seeing Bobby Long this past weekend was phenomenal! He and his band blew me away with well polished talent. I would highly recommend anyone to check him out in concert!

Bobby Long was so incredibly amazing. His guitar playing is impossibly good and I love his voice so much. He did mostly new music but a few old ones including my favorite Dead and Done. Even though this was a small venue, it was one of my favorite concerts I've been to. We got a picture with him after the show and he talked to us for a while and shook our hands and thanked us for coming. Such a great night!!

Bobby Long is truly coming into his own. There was a mix of older songs and new songs, from his soon to be released "Ode to Thinking" which had us all wanting more. Bobby just keeps getting better. Looking forward to the album release this summer.

On top of the music being great, Bobby was energetic and funny. He was having a great time which made me have a great time. I expected to enjoy the music, but I didn't expect to laugh so much.

This was the 8th time I had seen Bobby play. The first time with his new band. The Ark in Ann Arbor was a nice venue and I would recommend it. Bobby was magical as always and his vocals were spot on. I have a special place in my heart for solo Bobby but the band was good too. I think when he plays solo, you get a folk sound and with the band it is more country. I truly enjoyed his past performances with the KGB (Kalob Griffin Band) and hope to see them perform together again in the future. If you enjoy poetic lyrics, Bobby is the artist for you. Be sure to check him out!

I admit I wasn't sure what to expect but this was a very intimate venue with great acoustics. Bobby put on a great show that ranged from ballads to blues to rockabilly. It was a terrific show by a gifted song writer and musician.

Bobby Long and his band were fabulous. So much energy and intensity. His voice was fantastic, even better than listening to his recorded tracks. While Bobby has always had great acoustic performances, the addition of a full band gives his music even more depth. I hope he returns to the area soon, and I would recommend his show highly.

The music was fantastic!! Everything I expected. However, there seemed to be distance between Bobby Long and the crowd. Maybe he's shy or maybe it's just his thing but, other than a few "thank yous" interaction with the crowd was slim. Having driven from Savannah, perhaps my expectations were too high. Nontheless, I will be seeing him again in Orlando to compare shows, everyone has an off night, this could have been his.

The night started with two opening acts. "Chaos" stood out the most. They put everything they had into their performance. Vocals weren't clear due to the sound system but the music was great. Really good energy. When Bobby came on, they then joined him. These guys love what they do. You can tell in the way they swayed to the music and how much they put into every note. Bobby had 3 different guitars on stage with him and kept alternating. His voice reminds me a lot ofRay Montague and his soulfulness was other worldly. He wrote most if not every song he sang and by the 3rd song he was pouring sweat. He seemed very shy when addressing the crowd but that is definately part of his charm. He had great rapport with the other band members and the drummer was amazing!!!

it is indisputable: Bobby Long is the new face of folk/rock music. He was superb, energetic and intense. The opening acts, specially Ivan & Alyosha were impressive and equally amazing. I just think that the Bowery needs to include more information on their tickets when it comes to the camera rules. It doesn't say anywhere that you cannot use your camera to record, so while I was using it a security guard came and said "turn it off or put it away" and that kind of ruined the rest of the night for me.

Especially love the poetry of his lyrics and although he is excellent alone with his guitar, I like the addition of the backing band. The additional instruments show the layers and depth of his exceptional musical talent. Bobby with bandmates onstage made it a party. Don't bother trying to compare him or categorize him; Bobby's music is all his own. DON'T MISS HIM LIVE. Bring him back soon Bowery; I'll absolutely drive the 60 miles again!!

Bobby is an incredible performer. He is always on, and despite the smaller crowd, he gave it his all and put on a great show. Definitely check him out live.

Bobby was amazing in concert! He was great if not better in person than in his CD and I love how he introduced new songs that are not even on his albums yet and kinda impatient to wait for them on his next CD

Bobby and his Band played to a crowd of less then 70 who braved a snowstorm to get there. The 16-year old boys sitting next to me had driven 1 1/2 hours to get there from just north of Detroit! It was cool to experience the very small club setting and feel as if we were all "in the basement" listening to them jam. Very good musicians who did a nice mix of acoustic ballads and a couple of rockin' jams. I'm "a little older" and it was a bit reminiscent of the intimacy of the early Grande, East Town and A2 clubs of the 60s & 70s. Bobby kept a fun conversational riff going between songs and has the British self-depracating, dry wit going for him. He engaged the audience some and gracefully ignored a couple of intoxicated girls. With such a small crowd, he could have done more and maybe asked for a request or two. His manager, on the other hand, was very rude afterward and it ruined what was an otherwise enjoyable time.

The performers were stellar. Yellow Light Maybe opened and it was really cool, these guys have paid their due and definitely love to jam! Bobby was very cool too. His lyrics were refreshing and the energy was incredible! The only problem I had was that Bobby was charging 15 for his Cd and 15 for a poster and he would only sign, IF you bought and item. He wouldn't sign otherwise. Then, he wouldn't let anyone take pictures, which alot of folks were upset about. So basically, you paid and average of 75 dollars, ticket, poster, CD, and 3 drinks average, to meet a guy that tells you, he wont take 10 seconds to have a snapshot with you because his time is limited.....yeah Bobby, not cool......

Bobby was fantastic as usual. Yellow Light Maybe opened for him. I had never heard of them before but was able to pick up their ep and now I am completely addicted to it. Can't wait to see both of them again

About six months ago I ran across a Bobby Long tune on the internet and I was immediately intrigued. When I saw he was coming to Columbus, OH I knew I had to make the 40 minute drive to check him out live. I was not disappointed. He was absolutely incredible! I was in complete awe of his guitar playing and his voice is beautiful. Not to mention, his songs are marvelous. Bobby Long has a new fan for life.

We were pleasantly surprised by Dan Craig! He is an amazing artist. The depth and beauty of his lyrics were satisfying to the soul. Dan's tranquil yet strong vocals left one hungry for more of the same. Bobby Long was solid. His vocals were drowned by his drummer at times. We had to strain our hearing to digest his vocals. All in all, Bobby is a solid artist. He just needs to clean up his vocals for the American fan. My 18 year old son took to Dan Craig immediately, but held back his favor with Bobby Long.

This was my 4th time seeing Bobby Long but his first show in Vegas. The first 3 shows were him performing solo and acoustic and I have to say I prefer that to his new band but overall it was a great show. Opening acts were... interesting.
