What a great event 20 bands from the 80's who all had songs on the radio at one point in time! The highlight was definitely Tom Keifer who put on an amazing show. Night Ranger was not far behind because they still sound incredible. Sebastian Bach was too good to be on the West Stage and Paul Rodgers sounds like he is getting better with age. The only real disappointment was Ace Frehley who only played 3 Kiss songs and didn't sing Rock Soldiers.

This was a disappointment. The band was on stage but you couldn't see them. They also didn't put names of the different bands that played throughout the day. Also Lynard Skinner cancelled and they were the one band we wanted to see. We left early because of these things.

Lita Ford once again proved why she is the Queen of Metal. Just wish the setlist was a little bit longer and Lita and Joan Jet could have been on the same day so we ALL could have witnessed at quasi Runaways reunion. Lita s Band is second to none. Got the chance to talk to her Guitarists, Patrick while he was walking around prior to their set. Such a cool down to earth guy.

We had a blast; enjoyed both days. The line up was great; ticket prices were ok but VIP was a little to high. Biggest issue we felt was not enough time between sets; didn't give your vendors much time to make money because if you wanted a good view you had to go straight from one to the other and hold off on buying drinks. I know it was a park but a liquor licence would be good if possible. They had a very good selection of food and it was good just a little pricey. All in all it was a great show that made a lot of new memories for my wife and I.

Amazing event. Great music, awesome venue, plenty of vendors and facilities. Very well organized and not too crowded so no beer line and no bathroom lines! Can't wait for next year

What an amazing event. Excellent location, layout, concessions and police presence. The only thing missing was another 10,000 people.

Some acts rocked some were lame. I think the biggest dissapoointment was the lack of fans. You could see the artist were not happy with the small crowds. And it lacked in umph. People were not fired up and excited like a crowd usually inspires each other.. Also it needs better organization. Parking was designed poorly. No re entry was tough as it was a long day and very hot. It would've been née to go home and shower for the evening acts.

I was only able to go to the fest for Saturday but enjoyed it very much. The bands were good and for the most part had good energy. The crowds were smaller than I had thought but that worked out to our (the fans) advantage. I will probably come back if they do it again. No review is complete with out some bad news 1. Pricing was a bit high. I would have liked to see some sort of two day package deal. Tickets, food, beer and water was $400 for two of us, plus the $15 parking fee. Too much!!! 2. Parking- I arrived at 12:30 and we had to park WAY in the back of the park. Normally when you arrive early, you are closer to the entrance. 3. The body cavity search at the entrance. I get that there are many items not allowed and there should be some sort of search. But it took way too long and the girls at the gate checking did not seem trained. Take a look at how it's done at a Dolphin game. They move people though quickly and do a solid search.

Great two day event. started promptly at 12 pm each day. Each band played for about an hour. Very well organized event which made it more impressive. Great job Sunrise. Hope there is one next year. Only draw back was the long walk from palking. Early birds should be allowed to park closer.

The band's were amazing and the set up was perfect. There were so many booths and restrooms, which helped make it a great experience. I would 100% go if they have it again!!

Bands were killer, but sets were short, sounded good, could have been louder. At the average age of 50's out there I dont see people making a 2 day trek for this, this event should be 1 day with about 5 bands Happy I went

It was a nice day, but I will not be attending again too many bands they only got to play for 1 hour. I think it should be a one day event instead of 2 and have 2 stages, so when one band is breaking down another is playing. Less bands so they can play longer and more known bands from the 70's and 80's. Also have more food selection. There was not much of a choice to eat.

I went to the Saturday show and it was great. Dokken, Sebastian Bach, Cheap Trick and Joan Jett. Everybody sounded great and they set up the next acts really fast. I got the VIP pass and it was a great decision. A place to get out of the sun, some snacks and a bar with no line. Perfect. I hope they do it again next year. If they do, I'll be there.

Only have this to say. VIP not worth the $$$$$. The VIP area where you were underneath an overhang was about 1/2 mile from stage. Some of the bands cancelled which sucked. the stage setup was wayyyy to big for this event.

Terrible overall experience! Line up kept changing as well as schedule. Drinks were way too pricey. Food choices were few and pricey. Parking fee of $20 was ridiculous. We had 2 day tichets and only stayed for 1 hour on Saturday because it was so awful. Will never return!

Wish Skynard had played.. But it was an amazing 2 day concert anyway. I'll be back next year. Not a large crowd especially considering the amazing line ups.. Needed a little more hype, as many people I know that would have attended didn't know anything about it.. Keep on keepin on.. Great Show..

FYI Just wanted to express mine, along with a group of friends that attended the 2 day ROCKFEST 80's show. Saturday was not busy at all, food vendors were few. No hot dogs, burgers, pizza, ice cream. Just turkey legs, Chinese, grilled corn on the cobb, funky seafood and jerk food. Why did you not have FOOD TRUCKS lined up? Car Show was good but not enough lighting during the evening hours. You cannot see the cars at night if you do not provide proper lighting. Bands cancelled due to missed flights and other excuses. NO Quiet Ride, NO Lynyrd Skynard!!! It was a joke. Saturday was so disappointing .... did not even attend Sunday. Waste of money overall. Levy organization should take some lessons from the Chili Cook Off venue. They know how to put on an event, terrific food with awesome entertainment.

The bands they played were all great!!! My favorite band was Cheap Trick!! The only thing I would recommend for next year is that they spray down the parking area and all of the park with ant killer, since I wound up stepping in an ant pile where we parked and got all bit up. And lowering the cost of the drinks.

My husband, Tom, and I came down from Lantana, FL for the concert and we were not disappointed. I loved Joan (love you Joan) and Sebastian. Steelheart was a hubby favorite and Mr. Nice Guy - oh my god, they were phenomenal! Let me also say that CB Smith Park was an excellent choice although I personally wish it was closer to home. The park was immaculate before, during and after the concert. The restrooms - speechless - they were clean. I'd like to have seen a little more food selection although the chicken on a stick was delicious. Sometimes an order of salty fries and a slider is needed with a good beer :D We had a great time.

Positives: great hd video screens, artists were good, sound was great, no mosh pits, food was above average, price for festival is fair Negatives: $20 for parking is expensive, no reentry is bogus when you are there all day, cancelled Quiet Riot and never even announced it, did not offer refunds that i am aware of despite headliner lynnrd skynnrd cancelling. Overall, i would recommend as a good value.

No complaints regarding artist preformence at all. Rockfest hompage and Facebook did'nt give you very much information and has to improve. For example, wrong or no info where to enter the venue. Hompage said you could bring a bag smaller than 12x12 but when try to enter with small backpack, not allowed. Quit Riot no show, no information at all from rockfest. Lot of peple (media and other) between stage and VIP sector.

The lineup was awesome....Some bands sounded better than others.....I think the headliners could have been flip-flopped around...First night Bret Michaels Band closed the show but Tom Kiefer of Cinderella brought the house down before Bret....The crowd was definitely there to see Kiefer so when Bret came on there wasn't so much energy in the crowd.... I'm a fan of both of them, seen them both numerous times but Bret looked like a commercialized pop star compared to Kiefer's nasty, hard Rock N Roll energy he brought to the show....Vixen Firehouse, NightRanger, John Waite were impressive day 1....On day 2 the headliners should have been flip-flopped again.....Paul Rodgers who I loved since Bad Company and Free days was good but Ace Frehley crushed it before Paul...The crowd was there to see the Legend Of Ace and he did not disappoint...Ace rocked the house til the roof came off....Paul had a hard time trying to fill the void of space when Ace left the stage...on day 2 besides the two big acts mentioned here, the one guy who blew the place up was Sebastian Bach...it was his birthday and he brought it....doing old Skid Row songs and some of his own he was entertaining and interacting with the crowd....his music and band was driving the riffs at you in the crowd and you FELT THE MUSIC..!

Bought my tickets as soon as I saw this up on Facebook. From location to production everything was amazing. The band times were all set up so that you could hear out every band you wanted. Tom Keifer and Ace Frehley were insanely good! Can't wait to see what these guys bring next year.

I'm SO glad that my best friend & I decided to go to this show. I was at first hesitant about going for several reasons actually --- #1 was the ticket price (but NOW looking back on it, the ticket was reasonably priced --$100) #2 was the fact that it was an ALL day event. (I have 2 kids & wasn't sure how that was going to work out -- plus now that I'm in my 40's I wasn't sure if I'd have the endurance for an ALL day show. Last time I did that was 25+ years ago at the "Monsters of Rock" show at the Orange Bowl. It was a two day event -- my friend & I chose the Sunday show with Paul Rogers, Ratt, Winger Quiet Riot, Sebastian Bach, Geoff Tate, Slaughter, Autograph & Lynch Mob. We got there a little late around 1:30. They parked us WAY back in parking lot #1 out of 10. Luckily I'm pretty familiar with this park -- I don't live far from it & have been there plenty of times to know the lay of the land. We immediately saw upon our arrival a "Rickshaw" rider. We found out it was only $5.00 per person to ride to the front door of the venue which saved us walking about a mile. Money well spent as far as I'm concerned. We each brought with us a folding chair, a couple of waters. They do BTW check to make sure your water bottle does NOT have a broken seal -- just fyi. They weren't as worried as the "20 oz" rule -- I personally brought in a 33 oz bottle of water with me. They had a bunch of vendors selling all kinds of stuff -- if you get a chance you should take a look around & see for yourself. They had some really neat rock n roll stuff. I bought a couple of concert shirts ($25.00 each) for my kids & went to scope this out. BTW -- bring a small plastic bag with you in case you do buy something -- no one supplied any bags...thank goodness we brought one with us by chance. As for pricing -- hmm....you be the judge -- Beers $9.00, Water & Soda $3.00 Food ranged anywhere from $10.00 to $15.00 --- As for the bands -- I enjoyed ALL of them. My favorite was in this order: Paul Rogers, Ratt, Geoff Tate, Winger, Quiet Riot, Sebastian Bach, Autograph, Slaughter oh I almost forgot Ace Frehley too -- he was awesome -- smoking guitar solo and everything. :) Everyone we met that day was happy & enjoying themselves. No fights no rowdy crowds. There was HEAVY police presence but that could be due to the fact that the park it located 1/2 away from the Broward Sheriff's Office. It was an awesome 80's rock and roll fest. I would highly recommend checking it out for yourself. The bands were great. The event was stressfree & organized better than some other shows that I've been to that were held in bigger arenas. None of the vendors ever ran out of anything -- everyone was polite & sincere. No long lines anyway -- including the bathrooms !!! (We opted to use the park's facilities instead of the porta potties which were located right next to where the 80's arcade & dance party location) I SO hope that they continue to do this event EVERY year!!! I would definitely go without a doubt again & again & again!!! Absolutely!!!! The only thing I would be differently is either bring a back up battery or bring two cell phones with me to video tape some of each show. Unfortunately my battery conch out after the 3rd band. :( I recommend the rickshaw ride -- and bring a chair & a small umbrella for shade!! Don't forget to bring lots of cash. All in all you will not be disappointed if you like 80's hair band kind of music. I can't believe how close I was able to get to the stage to each show (4th //5th row) for so many incredible bands --- if only I had a camera. :) The price of the ticket ($100.00 per day) is worth EVERY penny. Treat yourself to a chance of a lifetime & Rock On!!!!!!!

The idea of a two day rock fest in South Florida seemed great. I've been to rock fests before so know how a well run open works. For a first time it was okay, and the bands were great, but the way it was set up and run needs improvement. The venue, Markham Park, is very large and the concert site was well into the center of the park. The staff that assisted with parking was clueless and I wound up parking a lot farther from the actual site than I should have. There were two stages, always a good idea at a rock fest, but they were too far apart. If the stages had been closer they could have alternated stages with little time in between bands, but they didn't. The bands were very good, but Night Ranger only did five songs, I think due to time constraints and they apologized for it. The overall band performances were very good, but big improvements need to be made in the organization. Hopefully they will learn from their mistakes and the organizers will make improvements next year.

I was at the festival from 11:30am to 10:30pm. It was an awesome event overall. All the bands were excellent including the warm up local band. ** I have one major complaint. The RockFest website stated that certain items were ok to bring which was not the case. Small backpacks were supposed to be allowed but I was denied this at the gate and had to throw away my backpack or trek it back to the car 1/2 mile away. Sunscreen was not allowed either if they were in aerosol cans so I had to throw that away as well. This information should have been more specific on the website. The backpack dimensions and/or specifics should have been posted. The sunscreen specifics should have been defined as well. I tried to comply with what was requested and would have if the site would have been more definitive. This is frustrating to start the day arguing with the security personnel about what the website states was allowed and what was actually allowed in. Surprisingly, Ratt had and extremely polished act and sounded just like their albums. I have been to Ratt concerts in the past and they did not sound nearly as tight as they did at this festival. Sabastian Bach was a great performer and really had the energy to capture the crowd. Winger was a bit of a disappointment as they had problems with audio levels for the first 3 songs. But they were good once they got it sorted out. Slaughter was not that tight and their sound levels were way off most of the set but their energy was awesome. Paul Rodgers was awesome too of which was expected. Great sound and performance.
