Perfume Genius

Perfume Genius

PERFUME GENIUS IN CONCERT:Chamber pop virtuoso Perfume Genius continues to push the envelope with his vulnerable yet powerful vocals, outré personal style, and intimate live performances. Whether he's accompanied by a backing band or going it solo with his keyboard, he always delivers a cathartic, unguarded live show that highlights the gravitas of his subject matter yet remains cautiously hopeful in its melodic flourishes. Fans love Perfume Genius for his grit and emotion, and they'll get plenty of both as he performs poignant renditions of favorites like "Dark Parts" and "Floating Sit" on tour.BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:Seattle-based Perfume Genius, a.

Perfume Genius was incredible. You can tell he takes his work very seriously; the focus and attention paid to each word he sang, in every song was absolutely noticeable. His performance was beautiful and amazing to see live. Loved his fishnets-didn't really love his Betty Boop t-shirt/dress. Though I would have loved to see him dressed to the nines with a sequin ensemble, I care less about his wardrobe and more about his voice-he killed it.

Perfume Genius put on an amazing show as usual. The set list was fantastic and he brought full energy to the set. The sound system, however sounded muddy, echoey and terrible all-around. This might be a good venue to dance, etc, but for vocal-powered music, things sound awful.

I had no idea what to anticipate and Perfume Genius surpassed all expectations. What a unique, chilling, haunting, powerfully vulnerable talent. He pulls you in and shares with you his heart. Amazing.

So much emotion behind Perfume Genius' fragile yet powerful performance, Mike Hadreas is able to capture you with a whisper as much as a scream... but he ain't afraid to scream.
