Parkway Drive

Hailing from the hippie-loving, beachfront town of Byron Bay, Australia, metalcore outfit Parkway Drive blasted out of their serene surroundings touting a volatile blend of intricate metal riffing, punishing breakdowns, and hardcore's emotional tension. Named after a rural countryside road, the band was formed in summer 2003 by vocalist Winston McCall, guitarists Luke Kilpatrick and Jeff Ling, drummer Ben Gordon, and bassist Jia O'Connor. The five-piece outfit split an EP with like-minded countrymen I Killed the Prom Queen that same year, and later appeared on the local hardcore compilation What We've Built. This activity preceded the May 2005 release of Parkway Drive's debut EP, Don't Close Your Eyes, on the Sydney-based Resist Records.

rolled up to pontiac michigan to clutch cargo's and seen the band for the first time. Been a fan for a while now. Jam all 3 of their cd's straight thru. The band put on a great show, and also got some beach balls out for the crowd to punch around lol. It was funny watching the guitar players kicking and head butting the beach balls while they try and play the song. Had a great time and prolly will be seeing this band live again

The show at the House of Blues in Chicago was awesome! I showed up a little early which gave me a great view of the stage. The bands that opened for PD were great as well. I really like The Warriors which was a band I hadn't heard before, but Parkway Drive did mention that The Warriors were a big reason why they played a show in Chicago, so thanks to them! I can't wait til Parkway Drive comes back to town, their set was the best I've heard in a long time.

What an amazing show! That much fun at a concert should be illegal. The opening acts were incredible as well but you can definitely feel something different when Parkway Drive comes on stage. I was right in front of the stage for every band. The sound quality was amazing, The venue was incredible. I drove all the way from Indianapolis to see this concert and it was worth every penny. This is always an awesome venue. The bands this time didn't have stage security so stage diving was encouraged. Parkway Drive really interacted with their fans. Even let a chick from the audience sing a song. Badass!! Parkway Drive was really having fun up their as well. Awesome show! Need longer set next time.

I've been lucky enough to see these guys twice at warped tour. They just wreck the stage, for some reason they played first at Pittsburgh. No one compared to their show all day. If you have the chance to go see them live, i would highly recommend that you do. Winston is an incredible frontman also.

Best show I've ever seen, and I've seen my share. It was at the Beaumont Club in Kansas City, MO, which is this small bar. That means you get whatever you want to drink, and it's small enough that the mosh pits are crazy and you get super close to the stage. Also, there weren't any barricades or security guys in between the stage and the fans, so we were told to make use of the stage and jump off it. I did this at least 3 times. The last time I crowd surfed up to the stage I got Winston to pound fists with me and then dove back into the crowd. Anything that could have gone right at this event did, and in EPIC PROPORTIONS!!! (I was the guy wearing a monster/Fox shirt if anyone saw me)

I was lucky enough to work with these guys on the Vans Warped Tour 2010 and I must say they are absolutely incredible live. Winston McCall is a name to go down in history as a frontman. Such amazing command of a crowd. Every set I saw they tore up the stage it was virtually impossible to follow these guys. IE- Mansfield, MA Whitechapel warmed the kids up well then here comes Parkway Drive to destroy the Altec Lansing stage so NO act for the next 5 hours could compare. All 5 of these guys are some of the best people I've met and by far have made a phenomenal mark in the metal and hardcore worlds as well as live music. If you have any of their 5 releases you must check them out live it's beyond words what the aussies do with their music and live performance.

We are huge Parkway Drive Fans and this show did not disappoint! The venue was great as well for a show like this. The whole place was a pit and the show was on fire! The opening band was A Decade Apart, local from Ohio and it is not often you see a local band engage the audience like they did with their own pit. The next band was Bad Omens and they killed it too! But, Parkway Drive just nails it every single time! Cant wait for the next show!

The venue as always is a fantastic place. There's not a bad spot to be in the Mercury Ballroom. The sound quality is always excellent. Bad Omens got the night off to a solid start. The Mosh Pit started before they came on stage and continued until they played their last song. The intensity of the songs along with the crowd moving from side to side is a lot to take when you are on the floor, however that is what make Parkway Drive such a great Live band. I ma an older guy who does not usually listen to bands like these, but my son turned me on to lots of decent metal in the last 2 years. My son was smashed against the barricade at the very front while I hung about halfway back--but the atmosphere, bands and the energy were simply unbelievable. After good sets by Bad Omens and Stick to Your Guns (with some uplifting social commentary by STYG lead singer) PD blew the roof off the place---I think Winston was thrilled at the crowd and the overall excitement. Overall, a great show---highly recommended (if you can handle this music genre...) (:-)

It s always an awesome time to see Parkway. The set seemed short but great. I believe they could have at least played three or four more songs. The venue was a full house with not much space to actually see the band play. The pizza was good but not $30 good. The drinks were typical expensive concert drinks. Idk if it s the new album, the venue, the concert goers or what but it didn t seem as heavy and intense as usual. I ll still go see them every time.

The guys seemed somewhat chilled out. Maybe the travel schedule's been tough. But it was pretty hype at the front, and most of these songs are hard not to get crazy for. I understand why songs like Carrion, Writings on the Wall, and Vice Grip were in the set - to give the band a breather - but ideally, they would've been switched out for songs like Swing, Deliver Me, and Gimme AD

The best metalcore out there in my opinion, and they put on a consistently good show. I would recommend anyone see them but I wish they would play older songs. They played 5 songs from newest cd atlas, 4 from deep blue (2010) and 4 from horizons (2007). While I love all those CDs, nothing beats don't close your eyes and killing with a smile, their EP and freshman album. How could they skip both of them entirely?!? Anyways, go see em ASAP but I would rate it lower I'd youve seen them multiple times because chances are you'll see quite a familiar performance.

It's been two years since Parkway was in the states, so of course everyone was excited to see them! I had been in their music video for "Wild Eyes" the Wednesday before the show, so I was super excited to see them two times in one week! As I expected, Parkway absolutely killed it. It was everything I expected and more. They put on an amazing show, and they even remembered me and a few others from the video shoot and pointed us out! They are one of the nicest bands around. Hearing Karma, Swing, Wild Eyes and Sleepwalker live was unreal! And I'd just like to say, While She Sleeps was incredible! I've been a fan of them for a long time and they are amazing live... I wish they could have played a longer set! Being one of the few people who knew them, I sang along with everyone of their songs... They noticed me and acknowledged me many times. At the end of their set, Mat made sure I got a pick. I also got to hang out with them after the show. They are also really nice guys, and amazing musicians! All in all, the show was fantastic. I'd been waiting a very long time for it, and the lineup couldn't have been better. Can't wait to see PWD and WSS again!

I saw Parkway Drive, The Warriors and The Ghost Inside on Valentines day in Camarillo CA and after this show, I can safely say it's amazing how much difference the venue makes. I wasn't particularly impressed with anyone other than PWD at that show and honestly wished I hadn't had to stand through all the other bands. At House of Blues Sunset though, all the bands sounded great. This is likely attributable to the superior acoustics and professional grade sound equipment and numerous dedicated staff on hand constantly optimizing everything for the maximum listening experience. One band got cut off early for some reason, I think this might have been Chelsea Grin. Their instrumentals were great but the vocals were just screaming. It wasn't bad but it didn't really float my boat either. Veil of Maya was awesome, particularly the bassist with his 7 string bass of insanity. I didn't really care for Set Your Goals. They had the crowd pumped up and seemed like they might be good on their own but didn't seem to fit in at all with the other acts. Acacia Strain was intense and I'm fairly sure Whitechapel's drummer has 6 feet. The Warriors and The Ghost Inside were much better than at the first concert I saw them at, again likely due to the equipment limitations of the first venue. Parkway Drive was astoundingly good and after two of their shows all I can say is I can't wait for them to come this way again. I will do my best to make it to any performance they do in my state (eventually they will play Karma and I can die a happy man). I would be happy to see any of the other bands again with the exception of Set Your Goals, who again, were good and put on a good show but just didn't suit my personal taste or seem to me to fit in with the rest of this particular show. Also if you come to a show at HOB Sunset, which I highly recommend you do, definitely remember to bring an extra $20 so you can Valet park like a boss and not miss the show due to the extreme asininity of trying to find parking in Hollywood.

WhiteChapel was headlining The Welcome To Hell Tour, while Parkway Drive was headlining a US tour. All the bands where good, though i missed one of the bands i wanted to see played before they opened the doors for the show to start. The shorting of the bands set list could have been lessened if they had opened the doors earlier. The crowd was very good. The venue should sell ear plugs, because sometime people either forget or are unprepared for how loud it is inside. Which is not a bad thing.

The concert was amazing. Not just Parkway Drive but the bands proceeding. The build-up was perfect and when the time came for Parkway Drive to perform, Win barely had to sing the crowd was singing so loud and clear. I can't wait till they come back, I left with a few cuts and bruises! By far the best metal show I've ever been to.

I dont know why set your goals was in this line up. They are absolutely awful!!! The Ghost Inside killed that show!!!! They were absolutely amazing i was very impressed!!! We went there to see Parkway Drive and they were amazing as well...could of been better if their sound guys turned the vocals up a little bit more!! Thats not the bands fault!! They were badass!!!! Hope to see them soon!

They were great. They played all great songs and they sounded better live than on their albums. They played with the warriors, the ghost inside, and set your goals. They whole concert was great. Parkway drive was perfect.

I ordered my Parkway Drive March 4th event tickets around February 10th. I got an email saying my tickets had been printed and were in the mail, on their way to my house. They never came in. Sooo... $40 wasted.

I've seen Parkway Drive multiple times along with Set Your Goals, I mostly went to see The Warriors and The Ghost Inside. This was an amazing tour package every single band did awesome and was totally worth not only the 4 hour drive but the ticket price was pretty decent too!
