The Record Company

The Record Company

LA-based blues rock outfit The Record Company has opened for everyone from B.B. King and Buddy Guy to Social Distortion and Grace Potter, but the band's acclaimed 2016 debut album Give It Back To You made clear what their loyal fans already knew: these guys were born to headline. Since the record's release the talented trio has topped Billboard's Adult Alternative Songs chart with their single \"Off the Ground\" and wowed on their first headlining tour with no-nonsense sets that put their impressive rock chops front and center.

These three gentlemen brought the house down at this sold out show at The Sinclair. I have never danced so much in my life. My abs are still sore.

The band absolutely killed it! If you like blues/blues rock, this might be one of the better bands out there and you should definitely go watch them as soon as you can because I have a feeling that this band is going to be big, sometime really soon! For a 3 person band, they produce some amazing sound. The lead singer/guitarist/harmonic player is amazingly talented and has great energy. The set was really tight and they really got the (smallish) crowd rocking. It was also great to see that the band was truly appreciative of the crowd - it was a sold out show on a Monday night and they definitely amped up their performance to match the energy of the crowd. A tip of the hat to the opening act as well; Muddy Magnolias. They had a good sound and seems like they might actually be an up and coming band.

From the first song "On the Move", the vibe was electric and infectious...The band was engaging and energetic...One thing you always want at a live concert, the band played songs off their album but ramped energy and the sound...made for an amazing night...plus they did So What Cha Want from the Beastie Boys...

I first heard about this group on Facebook & then I checked them out on YouTube. I then immediately downloaded the album on iTunes. After a quick check of their website I discovered they were playing @ a local venue. No brainer there!! For $15 I got to see one of the best up & coming acts. They rocked the crowd!!!!

I first had the opportunity to hear The Record Company at Mountain Jam 2016. 3 young men walked up on a stage & let loose with some of the most energetic, passionate, emotion filled performance i have witnessed in quite some time. When i heard that they were going to perform at The Bearsville Theater I logged onto my computer & purchased tickets right away. I was totally blown away once again by the raw, unpretentious, genuine performance that ensued throughout the entire show. if REAL means anything to you when going to a concert then i would encourage everyone to make it a point to, GO SEE THIS BAND.

Run as fast as you can to see the Record Company. With the way that band brings it, you won't be able to catch them in small venues for long. Next time around, you'll have to see them in large theaters or arenas, and you don't want to be the person hearing about how amazing their small-venue shows were wishing it was you telling the story.

What an awesome show put on by the Record Company at the Wonder Bar in Asbury Park on Friday night! The sound was great, the band had lots of energy (even after driving down from Maine) and they played nearly every song from their first major release. If you like good old rock n roll with a slightly bluesy edge to it, don't miss this band!

Wow, what a great show! Makes you believe that rock and roll is alive and kicking. I'll see dozens of bands and only once in a while do you get that "I saw them in a small venue before they broke " moment-these guys will break and I couldn't be happier for them. 3 guys-great grooves and hooks with harp, lap, accustic and electric guitars to back it up.

I was lucky enough to hear the Record Company on XM Radio - The Spectrum and quickly became a fan! From the minute I heard this band, I had a strong feeling that they were on the cusp of hitting it big. I really believe there is a Grammy in their future. I am a huge fan of new music and I love to create current upbeat playlists with a good groove for the yoga classes that I teach. Now, my students are becoming fans too! I was looking for something fun to do to celebrate my husband's birthday in NYC and saw that they were playing at the Mercury Lounge. I jumped on the chance to get tickets and see them live. We were so impressed with the performance, large repertoire of music and even a timely tribute to Prince. I bought their album so now I have a bunch of new songs to add to my playlists. Thanks for making our evening so special.

Brian did not pick a dud for the opening band, these guys were awesome! I would go see them again in their own show in a heartbeat! They are from LA but I could see them playing every night of the week in Austin TX. I wish they could have played more songs!

"We are The Record Company and we play Rock & Roll." - Chris Vos This was what lead singer, Chris Vos, shouted just as the band took the stage. Then he proceeded to bust out a harmonica and wail into a bullet mic. That was it. The energy level was set and it did not waver or wane throughout the show. They took it all to another level though with their single, "Rita May Young" when Vos began to play on a lap guitar. The energy went through the roof and the crowd went nuts. This isn't a band that mails in their performance. This is three guys who clearly love what they do and the spirit radiates out and infects the crowd. You will be dancing and grooving before the end of the first song and you will have their songs in your head for the rest of the week.

The Record Company in Woodstock was fantastic! What a great band. They definitely have something special going on and there is no one else like them out there. The venue, Bearsville Theater, was a great space for a show like this and it was all in Woodstock! We made an over nighter out of it and did some shopping the next day. I definitely got my groove on and had a groovy time. I have seen these guys before and definitely hope to see them again!i

As a big-time lover of music, I have been to many, many concerts. I am happy to rank this show by The Record Company as one of my very favorite live performances ever. They are incredibly talented, and the music is soulful and energetic. They really poured their hearts into the performance. I truly believe this group is about to take over the music scene in a big way. I consider it a privilege to have been present for their first ever show in Maine and can't wait until they come back.

If you like bands that start off slow and build up maybe you want to pass this by. Non-stop energy from the first song to the very last very well done well played and I'm not sure which one of the musicians of the three is the best . On tour now in support of their sophomore album I highly recommend

We didn't know a lot of the bands music, but friends had recommended we see them in concert. They were not wrong - the band put on a great show. The warm up band, Smooth Hound Smith was great; they are of the best Opening acts we have seen in a long time! The 2 bands were a great combo!

This band is amazing!!! They work so hard, they stay humble, they know how important their fans are. Every show is a new show (I know...I've seen them several times). They work well together. They're super talented musicians. Awesome songwriters! Three of them (very Police but waay more dynamic). I first heard about this band from an article in the "The Rolling Stone". Grammy nominated and they still have fun and its still about the music.

After first hearing Off the Ground last year on WFUV I new I had a new favorite Band. And their live performance didn't disappoint alt all!!. They rocked out on Off the Ground and Rita May Young and their ballad, Crooked City was sublime.and their version of Dylan's Subterranean Homesick Blues was done to perfection. Other than the base being a little to loud and the guitar being a little to soft (for the first few songs) the show was perfect. For an hour and a half they had us rocking and bopping to their soulful tunes. I can't wait to see them again and hear their sophomore album. Go see them if you get a chance.

The Record Company was fun - the steel guitar, bullet mic'd harmonica, and prominent bass was a welcome change from the typical rock band sound. However, the Marcus King Band absolutely stole the show. The timbre in his voice belies his youth, his guitar prowess is nothing short of sensational, and his band matches his talent through every genre they touch - blues, rock, jazz, country... ...everything. The Marcus King Band is a force to be reckoned with, and their star is most certainly rising.
