Jersey Boys (Touring)

"TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!" raves the New York Post for JERSEY BOYS, the 2006 Tony Award®-winning Best Musical about Rock and Roll Hall of Famers The Four Seasons: Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi. This was my 16th time seeing jersey boys. I did notice the women's costumes were different, but the production was still outstanding. I have seen Jonny Wexler as Joe peschi the last 12 times, and he nailed it as Frankie Valli. The whole cast was amazing. I highly recommend this show.

I really didn't know what to expect after having seen the movie Jersey Boys, but I was completely blown away by the stage version. The Tivoli theater is the perfect venue for a musical, and I decided to spring for really good seats up close, and they were worth every penny. I am a baby boomer and was a teenager during the 60's , so it helped that I am a huge fan of Frankie Valli and the 4 Seasons, but even those who can't sing along with every song would enjoy this amazing presentation. I'm a tough old guy, but tears came to my eyes more than once as the music took me back to those years gone by and the many good times my generation had back then. Not only was the music amazing, but the acting was superb. I would go again even if I had to pay twice as much the next time. You cannot put a price tag on memories, and Jersey Boys both brought back good memories of my youth, and made new memories of a wonderful afternoon with my wife and several thousand very happy, nostalgic people in a sold out, rocking Tivoli. All I can say is: "Oh What A Show!"

Overall I enjoyed the presentation Saturday. The only distraction was the actor playing Frankie Valli voice was a bit nasal. Having seen the 2009 showing, I was slightly disappointed with this. At first I thought it was a ploy to emphasis the character's youth and that it would go away during the story telling, but it did not. :(

The greatest show I have ever seen - bar none. Such an incredible journey that the story of these gentleman takes you on. I still can't get any of theses songs out of my head and it has been a few days. I will be going back again for sure. For anyone who has not seen it, you don't know what you are missing. I am personally not offended by this, but the language is a bit harsh and I would not recommend it for kids under 13. Just my personal opinion.

I saw this 2 yrs ago here in Rochester and it was 100 times better due to a much better lead singer as Franki Valli. The singer this time should not be singing his songs and am surprised they couldn't find someone better. I brought my daughter who was excited to see the show for the first and was very disappointed because of this. The rest of the cast was great though.

I have seen Jersey Boys 2 times before this show. both were at the auditorium in Rochester. This show did not compare. The man playing Frankie Vali was terrible. His voice was so bad. Sounded ok with the other singers but on his own it was awful.

Even better the second time around. Amazing voices! Great cast. Just don't know why they have to associate the bad language with "official Jersey language" I grew up in NJ and we did not use that kind of language.

I purchased the tickets to this show as a gift to my parents - they were in high school in 1963 and their song was Earth Angel. They loved every minute of the show and so did I. Worth every penny - I want to go back again and again and would love to see it on a larger stage someday.

I enjoyed the music, but the language used ,especially the "f" word, was a little too much. I realize that is probably the way they talked during those years, but it is something that would really turn a lot of people off from the show, and the reason I would not recommend the show and the reason I would not care to see it again.

I saw the show in Vegas and it was fantastic. I had no idea the back story behind The Four Seasons. There is some foul language, but as my boss said, that is to be expected, it's Jersey. (She's from Jersey!) I would highly recommend it. I plan on seeing it again in Atlanta and hope it as good as the one was in Vegas.

I didn't enjoy this show at all. I stayed for the first 10 minutes of the show but left as the language grew increasingly worse and worse. Had I known, or had been made aware, that this show included the foul language that was featured I would never have purchased tix. They say that the show is appropriate for 13+ but I wouldn't want my child at that age to be subjected to that filth.

When planning our trip to Vegas, we were looking for good shows to see-and Jersey Boys was recommended. I wasn't thrilled at the prospect of hearing "old timey' music-but I have to say this is one of the best shows I have ever seen. The music is not old-fashioned, but is a great restrospective to an interesting story. Make sure to get a good seat, we sat center orchestra middle of the way back and it was perfect. You don't want to sit in the front rows, or sit in the balcony. The guys who sing have awesome voices, it is funny, and entertaining. This is NOT a show for children. There is very strong language in it, but well-placed because these are after all guys who grew up in the mean streets of Newark, NJ. But the language is something that could offend and certainly is not meant for families with kids under 14.

I attended the show with my wife and another couple, whole show was fantastic. We had great seats, only paying 117 dollars each. Music was fantastic, interspersed with a narrative as the story unfolded. This was amusing, if sometimes littered with four letter swear words, but it does tell you that it contains strong language, prior to the start. Overall, live music, excellent drummer on stage, good scene changes, very well put together. Would highly recommend show.

This is my 2nd time seeing The Jersey Boys at the Morrison Center for the Performing Arts and 3rd time total. I always enjoy the Morrison Center, but this time it seemed as if the sound was off. It was difficult to hear the speaking parts and the singing was not as "robust" as it has been others times I have seen it. I met a woman over the weekend who had attended the same show I did and said the same thing. Said that there were parts that she could see the actors lips moving but there was no sound. The decor is beginning to look tired in the venue and hopefully can be updated some time in the future.

This time I took my husband who usually doesn't care for musicals but since he is a musician and appreciates great music, he loved it, too! My husband and I drove all the way from Sweetwater, TX to Tempe, AZ to see the touring company perform "JERSEY BOYS". We had all kinds of mishaps along the way including, but not limited to, our a/c not working in our RV because of the extreme heat in Mesa, AZ. In spite of this, it was SO worth it. The play/musical was beyond wonderful. We even enjoyed the rap segment at the very beginning and we hate rap. Five and 1/2 stars!

I have probably only seen 6 productions in my life because of my allergy to fragrance. This production was very different than others I have attended since it brought back the memories of my youth.and the wonderful music we listened to. To my ears, the music of today is only a cacophony of noise with no story lines.I love the music of the 40's, 50's and early 60's but then again, those were the years of my youth. :-) The worst part is wearing a mask because people believe they should share the smell of their fragrances. This is actually one of the few productions I have been able to sit through because of my allergies, so now I wear a special mask with 3 filters.

What is there to say about this true-life musical phenomena that hasn't already been said? All I can do is repeat everything you've already heard, and assure you that is it the truth... this musical is brilliant, electric, inspiring, superb, flawless and everything you thought it would be. I have seen it 6 times, with 3 different casts. Every show, every cast was equally as good. I will be seeing it the 7th time this November in Sacramento, Ca. Although involved in criminal activity Frankie Valli and his boys could actually sing. They were able to overcome great gambling debt from Tommy and travel all over to thrill than fans. The show was great and we understand what they went through to make it big. The cast were all great and the understudy for Frankie sang flawlessly hitting all the notes. Even my young teenage girls truly enjoyed the show. Beware lots of f bombs throughout.

OK let me first start by saying I'm not into music at all really on any level. what??? you don't like music. nope i find it boring and over sensationalized. after you have herd the 3 to 4 minute song once its over i never have to hear that song again for the rest of my life.. OK with that being said this play/musical whatever you wanna call it was great i thought the music was amazing and the fact that it wasn't something that was on a speaker where you can see people lip singing was even cooler. they would run up and down the stairs and stuff keeping the same beat. great energy and everything. the main cast in this show was just great . the chemistry they had with each other was so obvious. I was 6 rows from the front and had my mom, aunt, and uncle with me and they all loved it as well. thank you for the great experience.

From the opening act it kept us going non stop. All of the actors/singers were fantastic and the amount of parts each backup cast member played was amazing. The set changes and arrangements allowed the show to flow seamlessly.

This show a couple weekends ago was AMAZING!! I had been anxiously holding onto my tickets for months and it was everything I expected and more. I had the time of my life! I'm planning on seeing them again in a few months when they make their way back to my home state. Can't get enough!!

Watched the 730pm show on 11/9/13. They had already had one performance earlier in the day at 2pm and let me tell you--Their voices were as strong as if it were their first performance of the day!! Extraordinary vocal ranges, and great performance! To be from that era and maybe even from Jersey, you could appreciate some of the humor and lines they had. Took my 66 yr old mother from Trenton, NJ and she absolutely love it!

made sure we saw "Jersey Boys" Tour today in Des Moines. We loved it, the music, the dialogue, the energy, the staging, The guitars, the keyboard, the brass section. My Heavens, I was a teenager again. I knew the words, I could smell the smoke. Lord, we were 2nd row, center seats. The drummer, I don't believe he had a line , he sang with the ensamble. There were two shots I would have loved to get if cameras were allowed. One, the drummer, center stage front back lit with a red scrim?, just see him in silhouette? and the other, you see the backs of everyone on stage, and the lights shining on them, like you are a part of the group, looking out at the audience, hearing the reaction, and giving all you/ve got to keep that going, wow. Thank you so very much, Linda and Louis. Musical theater is so very much better than anti depressants. Laughter, tears and standing ovations.

Sort of slow to get started but once they did, it was spectacular!!! The story of how Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons got started on a Jersey handshake was very interesting to learn about and the eventual breakup was just as absorbing. But, the song and dance routines by the multii talented cast stole the show! All the favorites including Walk Like A Man, Dawn. You're Just To Good To Be True, and others brought most of the crowd back to their youth.Crowd favorites, as well as mine, were Ragdoll and the number one knockout for the Four Seasons, Oh, What A Night! Catch it if you can, tickets were still available a couple of days ago. Pricey, but well worth it and not a bad seat in the house at Robinson Auditorium!

They seemed to mix the sound around the multiple F-words that were said instead of the normal speech/singing of the cast. The handling of the dialogue seemed to be immature as the cast seemed to overly emphasize the curse words instead of letting them flow as part of the dialogue. This seems to be a crutch that is considerably over used to cover a lack of emotional acting ability of the cast. Disappointed.

This was our second time for seeing this production and was even better than the first, if that's possible. The arena with its comfort and sound system is as good as anywhere that we've been. The production was changed a little since our first seeing, but if anything it was improved. The music was great and the production was spectacular.

Cast was great with extremely gifted performers. Sets were imaginative. Voices were very strong and it seemed, because of the wonderful accoustics at Morrison Center, the volume could have been a little lower. But very fun and wonderful experience.

Vulgar
My husband and I were mortified with the vulgar language. This was portrayed as a singing concert. We were appalled and left the show within 15 minutes. We were EXTREMELY disappointed as we have seen a Jersey Boys performance in San Diego and it was delightful. We were just shocked with the language which is NEVER necessary in any performance. We spent a huge amount of money for NOTHING.
