An enchanting performance by a wide range of skilled artists. Costumes were very well done and had many interesting aspects for the observant. I especially enjoyed the aerial tumbling scenes using the giant swings. Where else would you see crutches or a big hoop ring used as gymnastics tools? You don't have to get the most expensive seats, just go!

I loved Cirque Du Soleil since I saw them for the very first time about 12 years ago or so. and I had the chance to watch several of they show, the movie I was there the first night and now I m watching g the documentary thru Hulu Plus....I love it I love them and I was so happy that I went to this one VAREKAI is amazing. the comedy mixed in to the show was unexpected and added to the show. The first half of the show was a little slow and I was afraid my girls were going to be disappointed in the show. The second half kicked it up a bunch and they all were extremely impressed and talked all the way home about it.

I have been a follower of Circue for quite some time. Through a Ticketmaster email I learned that the show was coming to Shreveport. I mentioned the show to some friends and it worked out to be a three couple birthday celebration. The other two couples were not familiar with Circue du Soleil and really had a fabulous time. The costumes are unique and one of the things I like about Circue is that not only do the main performers do an amazing job but that there is always a "support cast" on stage. They are in character and though they probably have specific tasks to perform they add to the performance by adding to the scope of what is being presented. It makes for a larger presentation than just the main performance and if you care to take notice, there is almost a complete "sub-performance" going on. It's difficult to do this and not draw away from the major focus but Circe always does it well.

At first sight of the stage, I anticipated a very creative performance utilizing the poles set on the back of the stage. I was disappointed that these devices were not used more; we had floor seats which were often blocked by on an apparatus on stage was expecting much better views than what we had. The story line was poorly developed in my mind and a technical glitch with the lights brought that whole performance to a halt for about 3-5 minutes -- maybe more. The performers were very good; like the "net" trapeze work most of all with the 2 male trapeze work and jugglers also adding a dramatic and fun dimension to the show.

Varekai was amazing. The costumes and talent was fabulous. I loved the magician and assistant. They were so funny!!! I would recommend this for anyone. The music and most of the words are maded up. It's really not an issue if you do a little research before hand on the story.

The show was unforgettable. The interaction with the audience adds even more fun to a wonderful show. The costumes were vivid, artistic, detailed and a joy to watch in motion. This is my fourth time going to a Cirque du Soleil show and based on my previous experiences this show lacked everything, from creativity to the music sound. There wasn't that many performances, their stage props were simple, and the sound wasn't that great at all. I don't know if it was due to the location, if it is then I will not attend another event there. Will I ever attend another Cirque Du Soleil? A definitely YES!!!

This show is entertainment galore!! I wish my entire family had been with me. The performers are so talented....costumes beautiful ....stage setting and lighting superb....I was totally entertained and the time passed too quickly. The stunts were pretty amazing just like most Cirque shows. It was really entertaining. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because there was too much grumbling/ranting/mushmouth/annoying dialogue throughout the show... you'll understand after you've seen it. I definitely recommend.

We had floor seats. Folding Chairs were not as comfortable as the hard permanent chairs. View not good if someone tall was in front of you. Show was amazing. Best to read the story line ahead. Wish they gave out brochures about the show and actors/athletes. Really fun costumes. Classic clown side show was funny and talented. Absolutely amazing athletic talent on this show! I would go again!

Show is great for the whole family. I took a friend and her 9 year old daughter and my 5 and 7 year old and we all felt it was a good show. Being a live Cirque virgin, I did not know what the story line was and what I would see. This show was amazing in every sense! From the music to the singing, the comedy to the performers, I was in awe the whole way through and highly recommend going to this show. I was not happy where my seats were located. I paid 106.00 and expected to be in the lower section, i got two seats on the very top first of the top next to the wall (NOT HAPPY) i would not tell people to pay for tickets that are so expensive. The show was just OK not what i expected for the FAULTS PREVIEWS. My daughter from Santa Barbara enjoyed herself more then I did. You have nothing on Las Vegas performance of what you get for your money.

Loved it, loved it, loved it! My daughter took me for my birthday and it was AWESOME! It was sweet, funny, sad, and inspiring all at the same time! The costumes and sound stage settings were unbelievably colorful and beautiful. All the actors intertwined like a bright bouquet of tropical flowers. I would recommend that everyone go. Took my girlfriend to see cirque de solelelele and she loved it, I enjoyed it as well But i don't have as good of an eye for the arts as she does. But towards the end, it gets intense and I can honestly say I was on the edge of my seat. Overall it was a good show and I would pay again to see cirque de soleleque but we'd be interested in some of the other themes, from what I understand the stories vary, good job and thank you to the entertainers for all their hard work. My seat selection was prime, with the exception of the size of the seat, but im not sure any decent seat in the house would have been better, im 6'1" and had to have my legs split or my knees in my chest. Otherwise good section, if your too close you can see the whole stage and there's a lot of activity over the who stage not just in the center.

Varekai was my fifth Cirque du Soleil show that I have seen at the BOK Center. This venue has never really disappointed me at any of them. I was very happy with the $10 parking - it is so easy to find your vehicle after the show. The vendors and ushers were all helpful and friendly. I was really happy with my seats. I have to say that out of all the shows I have attended these seats were probably my favorite for the value of the tickets. The show itself is wonderful. Words cannot describe how much I enjoy it. I love the artistry since I am a huge fan of dance, gymnastics, and rhythm in general. I always have to wipe away a few tears just from the beauty of the show. So yes I highly recommend! Please BOK Center continue to bring Cirque shows and I will continue to be a supporter!

Having been to several different Cirque du Soleil shows, I am able to compare my own impression of Varekai to other shows. This show is unique in many ways is my first impression. The live music throughout the show is excellent. The side acts, pre-show, and in-show characters and side acts are very entertaining, and absolutely loved the "magic act" where the man is pulled into the act from the audience, hilarious. There isn't as much high flying acrobatics as some other Cirque shows, but it is more than compensated by balancing acts, strength acts, juggling, and "low flying" acrobatics. The stage setup isn't as complex as other Cirque shows, but it is very attractive, and excellent use of space throughout the show giving a great view to everyone, regardless of where they are seated.

This was our first live Cirque du Soleil experience and it did not disappoint. We had seen the Worlds Away movie event on the big screen and that was phenomenal, but seeing them live was even better. It's hard to be shocked and awed in this day and age, but there were many moments when our jaws literally dropped and we found ourselves either cringing in suspenseful moments when it looked like a performer was in danger (such as hanging suspended by nothing but the back of their neck several stories high, etc). I've been an athlete all my life, and I have a huge amount of respect for the training, conditioning, and endless practice it must take to get these types of performances down to the tee like they do. Not only that, but stack on top of that the costuming, lighting, singing, instrument playing, story telling, props, comedy, and on and on. I loved the whole idea behind Varekai... Icarus not dying in the sea but finding himself in a mystical land and finding love (the story in a nutshell). Very cool twist to the myth. Can't say enough about Cirque. Just keep up the amazing work! We love it!

I have seen almost all of the Cirque shows and have seen some of the best and some of the worst. This one was absolutely wonderful. Every act had a surprise that I did not expect. There was an obvious storyline that was compelling and familiar. The performers were flawless, and there was the perfect mix of music, comedy, dancers and acts which were perfect for each event. My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment. There wasn't a set, but that did not take away from the show at all. Not a lot of merchandise to purchase which was disappointing, but the program was beautifully done. Thank you Cirque for providing true pleasure!

I took my kids, ages 9 and 5. My son (the 9 year old) was entranced pretty much throughout. The tougher critic, my 5 year old daughter, wasn't very impressed so my suggestion would be to stick to taking the older kids. I think in part because the balancing and contortion portions of the show were slow and precise and not much English was spoken during the show so I think it is harder for the younger ones to follow the story. But overall, I was personally in total awe of the talented performers. Some skits were slow and unexciting but the raw talent and vibrant costumes keep you in anticipation of what comes next. Some humor mixed in keeps the crowd alive.

We were thoroughly amazed and entertained. it was a spectacular show, lots of fun, laughs and action. Costumes were beautifully colored and unique and the whole show was just fantastic. I had seen the Fire Within series on youtube that was the full series of how the show came together 11 years ago. The audition process, training, the making of all the acts etc which was wonderful so I knew what I was kind of expecting however over the years some of the acts have changed but the series is now no longer available on youtube so if you wish to see it buy it at the site where it is available-- I made my mistake and didn't and I am sorry for it now!!!!! They have great tumbling acts, strap acts and some really cute comedy acts. My 10 granddaughter thought it was wonderful. This show has been in under the "big top" for 11 years and is now making it's rounds in the arena which is great because it will be able to reach a broader audience now. It is well worth your time to go see this show.

I didn't like the beginning, but then... It was amazing... The idea about the fallen angel, acrobats in the air, all crazy things they have been doing for 2 hours... I loved it! And you must watch it :) Now I'm waiting for more performances of Cirque Du Soleil :)

I love Cirque du Soleil. I had a chance to see at least 6 different shows, and I still love it. However, Varekai was very slow in the beginning. The entire first part was so so. The second parte was just great. All the performers did an absolute wonderful show. Change the first part, and will be 5 stars for sure.

I absolutely loved Varekai!! The music was amazing. The costumes were incredibly creative and fun. I was still clapping even after we already left the show. View was breathtaking and the sound didn't deafen us. The entire show was just beautiful and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it.

This was my 13th Cirque show, the 6th of the traveling shows (the other seven were the permanent shows in Las Vegas). While traveling shows cannot compare fairly to the permanent shows, this one was not as spectacular as the other traveling shows I've seen, like Ovo, Dralion, Quidam, and Kooza. Don't get me wrong, I'm always appreciative and impressed with the performers' abilities, the music, the costumes, and the imaginative story. But this one just lacked that special "wow" factor. I do recommend that one attend Varekai, as it's still an entertaining feast for the senses, but don't expect to have your socks knocked off.

I've taken my family to view all of the Cirque du Soleil shows whenever they're in town. We had front row seats and they were worth every dollar. Truly an amazing experience. I recommend these shows for the entire family!

This AMAZING show was promoted as "farewell to Varekai", so I sure hope CDS reconsiders and continues to have this in their lineup. IT'S ALL AND MORE than you expect from CDS!! Loved it!! Catch it when you can !! Floor seating is great and interactive, however the best view is from the bottom of lodge or bottom rows of lodge.

Have gone to the most recent Cirque offerings in our area. Wanted to see Varekai because it's Cirque and because of the ratings found on the internet. Paid for the close up seats, center just in front of the tech booth. Great location but no idea that the seats would be folding chairs on the floor of the Dr. Pepper arena. Had to look around the people seated in front of us and was genuinely disappointed in the seating. Now, the show: really good athletics, costuming and music. Not sure that I could explain the theme but then Cirque has always used unique staging. I would recommend this show but not at this venue unless in the theater type seats a bit away from the stage. 5 stars but for the location.

Overly artsy Cirque show; some probably love it. We were disappointed. Seemed much more about the costumes and music you couldn't understand, as well as their artsy forest theme. We saw Allegra many years ago and it was amazing. This was just okay. Also, we paid premium for floor seats at the Dr. Pepper areana......bad choice. So much crawling on the floor and you couldn't see as it was just normal floor rows. People who paid less on the areana seats had a much better view, so not sure how they get away with charging so much for terrible seats on the floor set low to the stage. Not worth the price paid by a long shot.

It was so nice that Cirque du Soleil came to our town. In my opinion the second half of the show was so much better than the first one; they should have mixed the acts in a different way in order to make both half times more enjoyable.

My elderly parents and I took my my 8 year old son to see this show. It was truly amazing! I ve seen O in Vegas and this one lived up to the Cirque name. My son was begging for the show to not end when it was over. Well worth the money!
