I absoutely LOVED this show. Introduced Broussard's music to my husband. He loved it! I have also become a fan of Charlie Mars, who opened for Broussard. I can't wait to see Broussard again. Absolutely phenominal!

Marc was better than ever. His most recent tour is titled "Welcome To My Living Room", which hints at an acoustic type show. The setting was relaxed and casual, and Marc played an amplified acoustic guitar, but he still rocked. He was accompanied by a bass/rythm player who was fantastic, and a scaled back drum set. I have seen Marc in concert 4 times, and each time, he plays "Home" a little bit different. Last night was the best one yet. A little more "blues-ey". Great show. Don't miss him!

Marc put on a great show! Laid back, chillin, and pouring out emotion in a GREAT jam session. Every song just bleeds out feeling. Marc sounds like he's been playing the blues for 50 years! This guy can belt em out! Don't EVER miss the opportunity to see this artist!

This is the second time I've seen Marc. This was a more low key show as it was acoustic and a 3 peice band. The other show was at a club in LA witha bigger band and the crowd was younger. As soon as this guy opens his mouth and starts singing, you know he has some serious talent. He did a couple of songs solo with a guitar, and one in particular was mesmerizing. I would have preferred that he played some more of his uptempo songs, but it was still a great show.

Marc Broussard rocked, wailed and grooved, and channeled blues and soul from musical forefathers. Marc's band is loose and fun, but also tight and together, both in their playing and singing. He played many of his original songs, but also paid homage to great songwriters with covers from James Taylor ("Never Die Young") and Van Morrison (Into The Nystic"). The opening act was Charlie Mars in an all acoustic set. Charlie's music is full of reality and passion. He engaged the audience with fun banter and asking us to sing along on specific choruses. This was a fantastic show, at the best listening room around - The Birchmere.

Marc and his band were opening for Sara Bareilles one night in Indy, IN. and I actually enjoyed them more than the main act, Sara. No offense to Sara Bareilles, she did a great job as well, but man were Marc and his band absolutely fantastic! The energy coming from his performance was contagious. I actually went home and bought two of his CD's the next day. If anybody likes jazzy/funk/pop music, this is the man you want to go see. It's great stuff!

I've been enjoying Marc Broussard's journey since I first heard "Home" years ago. The show was opened by a young, talented singer/songwriter....Jamie Kent. He and his band brought passion and energy into the room. He closed with a song that brought cheers and tears...."Home Again", his tribute and plea for our veterans. Marc and his band followed and ramped up the energy....at times the walls seemed to pulsate with the driving force of the bass and drums. Then Marc would bring us back down with a few slower melodies. All in all, powerful performances by both Kent and Broussard. I gave the venue 4 stars, since it was SRO. If you go, you may want to bring some camp chairs, if you don't like standing up for over 2 hours. The Taft is still one of my favorite venues for shows downtown.

The venue was nice, but it was all tables & chairs. I felt as though he played to the venue instead of to the fans. I love when he plays songs that make me want to dance, and here he didn't do that. I think because it was a more mellow crowd & it was outside of the city.

Marc and band rocked the house out in a fine way! Solid performances by everyone. Lead guitarist was really really good. Played more new stuff which was great but still had enough of his classic stalwarts that had everyone on their feet boogian. The Bijou is the perfect venue. I think everyone there had a really good time including the band.

Having seen Marc Broussard about 12 times previously, I was looking forward to seeing an acoustic show with his dad. Marc and his dad, Ted, are amazingly talented. Put them together and you have a great night. The crowd, however, was horribly rude. The hum of people talking often was louder than the music. That was very disappointing as I drove two hours to see the show. The event on Marc's Facebook page said from 8-11. The show ended about 9:20. I can't help but wonder if he was as tired of the rude people as I was and cut it short.

First off, I was not aware that there would be opening acts for Marc. One was not good the other I'll have to say, after listening to Marc's show, would have been better to listen too. She was great! I was expecting a little or a lot more Bayou Soul, a mix of funk, blues, R&B and not so much rock :( The electric guitar player had a lot of abstract noises coming from it. Waaaay to loud and crazy for me and my husbands style. The audience was made up of middle-aged to seniors so maybe that was it. But we like good music and good vocals of which Marc is one of a kind. I just wanted to hear more of HIM and I couldn't because the instruments were so loud. The songs he did sing that I was familiar with didn't even sound so good, at least what I could make of them.

Yesterday was the 1st time I got to see Marc live since I became a fan about 2-1/2 years ago after hearing "Home" the first time on VH1. To start off, I was lucky enough to see Marc at a private performance my local radio station had early yesterday afternoon with his guitar player, Nathan Duggar, which was nice and intimate. What I like about going to these private performances, that the people attending are extremely quiet and respectful to the artist. Marc sang 4 songs ending with "Home" and he did not disappoint. Everyone attending got to meet Marc, get a signed picture and their picture taken with him. Marc is very nice and personable. Cut to later in the day to Antone's - I ran into Marc as we were both entering the venue at the same time and exchanged greetings with one another. I immediately walked to the front of the stage - Antone's is not a huge place and I've always been able to stand right in front at many shows. The people around me were very friendly as they always are and were just as excited and was looking forward to the show as I was. The opening band, Chic Gamine, is a 5-member group (4 women and 1 man) from Winnepeg, Canada who have been touring with Marc for about 3 weeks per Marc as he introduced them. I and the people around me, had never heard of them - this group did not disappoint. I like when bands and their members actually have audience interaction - this helps everyone in attendance to get a good feel of what they're like. This group did not disappoint - they were in perfect harmony and their songs were lively and catchy. They sang a couple of their songs in French and they still didn't disappoint the crowd. The 2nd band, Alpha Rev, was awesome as usual. I'm a huge fan and I go to most all their shows - they perform around Austin quite a bit when they aren't on tour or recording, which is what they are doing at this time. They are currently working on a follow-up album to their last successful album, Good Morning. Their set for the night included their hits "Good Morning" and "Phoenix Burn" as well as some new songs that I'm pretty sure will be on their new album. As usual, Alpha Rev did not disappoint and they gained new fans who had not seen or heard them perform before. . I can go on and on about how much I love Alpha Rev, but this review is not about them\u2026 Marc took the stage a short time later - this man can SING and he had the whole place rocking! The crowd at Antone's was VASTLY different from the small crowd who attended Marc's performance earlier in the day. The crowd enthusiastically sang along to "Cruel", "Lucky" and "Yes Man". Then the band exited the stage and Marc slowed things down with an acoustic set with just him alone. The only complaint I had during this time was that the crowd behind me was SO rude - there was a lot of loud talking, laughing and carrying on which all of us in the front listening to Marc found extremely annoying. I'm sure he did too, but was probably used to it. The band came back on the stage a short time later and had everyone singing and dancing to "Rock Steady" and "Yes We Can, Can't". During "Yes We Can", Marc looked down at me (I was standing right in front of him) and handed me the guitar pick he was using - there were more than a few ladies standing in front of the stage with me looking at me with envy when I took it from him. Chic Gamine joined Marc on stage to sing backup to several songs including "Home", which literally brought down the house. After Marc, his band and Chi Gamine left the stage, I was able to snag the setlist he used (it was taped on the stage floor just a foot away from where I was standing) - complete with Marc's Converse All-Stars shoe print. (Photo uploaded.) My 1st Marc Broussard concert was a very positive experience and I'll definitely see him again when he comes back to Austin.

This was my third Marc show and each one is so diverse and better than the last one. We were at the Center Stage Theater which is an awesome venue. Plenty of seating for those of us who don't like to stand and a pretty big pit for those young-uns. Really, not a bad seat in the house. Opening act was one I actually enjoyed- Sonia Leigh and her band. Stevie Nicks vocals with an awesome country/rock sound. Marc was awesome as usual. Played a lot of oldies which was really nice considering he was promoting his new album (release date in June 2011). This was the first time that I saw him really relax and have fun on stage- he wasn't trying to impress anyone. He was playing to a sold out house- everyone there already loves him. The best part was that he did a post-show exclusive for everyone who bought his advance. There were about 50 of us and Marc came out about 10 feet in front of me and did 4 acoustic songs- the three songs for his kids (we also learned that #4 is on the way!) including the song for his son Gibby that will be on the album dropping in June. I was hoping for more of a Q&A and it would have been nice if the venue had swept the floor before he came out (poor guy was standing in a sea of empty beer cans) but I can't complain. He is awesome.

From the opening song to his wonderfully personal acoustic set, Marc Broussard exemplifies that what is Louisiana----soul, warmness, love of family....from his real family to his family of fans. The first opener was a young Czech man accompanied by a woman on a cello. The instrumental parts were great, his voice was good if not inspired. The second act was Jamie McLean and his group who were excellent solid rockers and blues men. Marc was incredible. He started out a bit slowly and sounded a little hoarse, but after he warmed up he was wailing. I didn't make a set list, but he did many of his old hits with his incredible band and had various members of Jamie's group come out to perform with him. An extended version of Home was the encore, and it was truly amazing. They also did a medley which started with If You Want Me to Stay by Sly Stone segueing into Fiyo on the Bayou by the Nevilles and finishing with Love and Happiness by Rev. Al Green. It was incredible! We've seen Marc about 6 or 7 times, and he gets better every time. Always an event.

All 3 groups were great, but Marc was outstanding. Only negative was with the audience. A group of people two rows in front of me kept standing up and blocking the view. People should be more considerate. If you want to stand up and dance get seats on the back row.

Broussard was pure entertainment. You could tell he loved singing, was having fun, and drew you in like you were a friend or family member. Apart from that, his energy level kept building to the end. I had a blast!!! I would strongly recommend going to hear him sing in person.

I have caught Marc Broussard live on several occasions and have never been disappointed. He is a true talent who never fails to deliver. I also enjoyed the opening act, but never got the name of the band if someone could help me here. Harrah's Theater is also an excellent venue.

This is the 3rd time I've seen him and it gets better and better each time. The venue was great and the band and Marc were on task to bring the house down. By far, one of the best live shows I've been to. It kicked up a notch, even more, when he brought his dad out and they jammed to the last 2 songs to the set, before the encore. Can't wait to see him again!!

Marc Broussard was awesome, I'd listen to him again anytime. My problem was that when I bought my tickets, nowhere did it say General Admission, so when we got there, I had nowhere to sit. To top that off, those who had reserved seating, had a 100 people standing in front of them the entire time!

This was my second time seeing Marc Broussard at the Birchmere. He had a full band the whole time and performed several new songs. Marc was also super-sweet and sang a request from a fan who took his wife to the show as her birthday gift. Definitely looking forward to his next stop at the Birchmere!

It was an incredible experience to share a small, intimate space with such a gifted performer. I don't know why he's not playing huge venues, but I'm glad to have had the chance to feel his music as it should be. Please come back to Jersey SOON!!!

Ranging from R&B to Motown to Blues and Rock Marc Broussard mixes great lyrics, masterful vocals and smooth instrumentals. He puts on an amazing show that ebbs and flows with ballads and rock.

Whether it is one of is raw high energy songs or one of his ballads, you know that Marc Broussard is feeling every line. His concert was a mix of his hits and songs from is new release, "Live at Full Sail University." If you love his music you will not be disappointed for he sounds just like his recordings. You will not be disappointed. This was my first Broussard concert and I will never miss another one when he comes into the D.C. Metro region. As an aside, the Birchmere is a great venue. No matter where you sit you have a great view of the performance in this intimate venue.

Marc Broussard was phenomenal! Played for just shy of 2 hours, did a little acoustic set and took a few requests. He is a guy that not too many people know about, but damn I wish they did! He is so talented and passionate about his music. For $17.00 a ticket this show was an absolute steal! Highly recommend checking him out if he is in your area, you will NOT be disappointed!!!

Marc Broussard proved to be an excellent performer. The set was well timed and well mixed. His live version of "Home" was more than enough to light up the crowd. There were times where it was obvious that Broussard was having problems with his voice. A bit of strain was occasionally eveident. But, he did a great job of covering and working through it. even using it for effect. He could have used an introduction as it appeared that only the more ardent fans recognized him with the beard. The opening acts were a good compliment to Marc's style. All in all it was a good show that will serve Marc Broussard well as his career progresses.

This was my first visit to the Birchmere and I will definitely be back. Marc Broussard put on an incredible show. I was even lucky enough to meet him after his performance. He is so talented, but still down to earth. it was definitely an experience to remember.

We believe this show was billed incorrectly. It appeared that Marc would perform with the DDBB. That was not the case, but would have been super awesome. Having not seen Marc Broussard in several years (since Jazz Fest 2005 and opener for G. Love), we were not as familiar with his new, slower material. And having not been to the Carolina Theater before for an event, we were not prepared for the snooze fest that was to consume the entire opening act. People were literally sitting still and quiet through the entire set. This is a new experience for a show to us. We were ready to dance the night away. Until...the Dirty Dozen came out and brought the party! Finally, after they had to turn up the house lights, did people finally come out of their pretentious shells and enjoy the music! I have never had such a poor venue experience with such great music. We will NOT go back to Carolina Theater for a music experience. It was a FAR CRY from a N'oleans show. We WILL see the Dirty Dozen again, and again...

Although the music was good, I think the show was mislabeled. I'm a big Marc Broussard fan and have seen him in concert many times. I assumed this would be another Marc Broussard concert with The Dirty Dozen Brass Band (whom I was previously unfamiliar with) either opening for him or playing with him. Instead, it was more like a Dirty Dozen Brass Band concert with Marc Broussard as the opening act, performing with a very scaled down band (only two other people playing with him). He played a few new songs, a few of his hits, then disappeared. I was very disappointed, especially because I bought not only my ticket, but tickets for three others to join me. This was not the experience I expected to give them.

Being from New Orleans, I like to catch as many shows from there as I can... This one did not disappoint. Marc Broussard started off slow, but soon had the audience rocking. And THEN the Dirty Dozen Brass Band came on! Those guys had us dancing in the aisles - even my wife, who normally barely moves during a show, was shaking that thing :o)

Marc Broussard is a very engaging performer. It was worth the ticket price just to hear Home performed in person. Wow -- what great sound from just 3 people! His arrangements, voice and instrument blending are terrific. Nice to hear the stories behind some of his songs as well. Dirty Dozen is a class band. Although jazz isn't my thing for the most part, the first part of their show demonstrated what excellent musicians these guys are. Their NewOrleans music is always a hoot. More fun to hear in NOLA at a bar, but they've done a good job of turning a show in an auditorium into a party: house lights on, encouraging the audience to dance and have fun.

I've seen Marc several times when he comes through Knoxville: first as a hungry opening act. He overshadowed the main event. I went out and bought his album that night after the show. I've seen him as the main event as well and each time there are fans singing EVERY SINGLE WORD and dancing in the aisles, clapping and carrying on. When he busts out "Home" or any song really, that soulful voice is remiscent of being in a Southern Baptist church. Don't bother buying a seat - not like you're going to be in it. :) LOVE this man! Always make a point to see him when he comes anywhere near.

Great venue! Great show from Marc! Opening singer not as listed and horrible. Sound was too loud and did not enjoy her set. Also did not appreciate starting almost an hour late cutting Marc's set short.
