The concert was sssooooo good! All of the artist performed well. The only complaint I have is that it took the stage crew so long to get Kirk Franklin's set together that he ran out of time and he was rushed off of the stage. Maybe next time it can start a little eariler so in case problems like this occur again, it will not cut anyone's preformance short. Overall the concert was excellent.

TRULYBLESSED
I TRULY ENJOY GOING TO THIS EVENT. THIS IS MY 3RD YEAR GOING AND I HAVE NOT BEEN DISAPOINTED YET. I TRULY ENJOYED EACH ARTIST THAT PERFORMED. TYE WAS EXCELLENT AS USUAL. THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME SEEING KIRK FRANKLIN AND I ENJOYED EVERY MINUTE. THE ONLY THING WAS THE TIME ISSUE. IT SEEMS THAT EACH ARTIST HAD TO LEAVE THE STAGE TOO SOON! I WANTED MORE OF EACH. OVERALL I WILL DEFINATELY ATTEND EVERY JOYFEST THAT COMES.

The concert was wonderful but was plagued by one problem. Too many acts or not enough concert time allotted for all the acts to give their full concert. As a result the feature performer Kirk Franklin had his act cut short because the park had to close and the paladium emptied.

I have attended Joyfest at Carowinds for years now.... It was AWESOME this year! The line up continues to get better each year - (but I really missed Fred Hammond this year). And for the first time, I purchased my tickets online this time (at the last minute I must say) and it was effortless. For all of you who love Jesus, gospel music, and being a part of a multitude - get your tickets for Joyfest 2010! YOU WILL BE BLESSED!

AWESOME SHOW EVERYONE WAS GREAT AND WHEN U HAVE A GREAT ACT LIKE KIRK FRANKLIN YOU NEED TO CUT BACK ON SOME OF THE ACTS SO THE HEADLINER CAN GET THERE WHOLE TIME ALLOWED BECAUSE HE WAS CUT SHORT RIGHT WHEN THE SPIRIT WAS HIGH!!! OTHER THAN THAT EVER THING WAS FINE

The joyfest was an unforgetable experience. The performers were wonderful. There was a time limit in the park so it ended abruptly but it was an experience of a lifetime. This type of gospel celebration was one to remember for a very long time. I am really looking forward to the same kind of show next year. We had good seats even after purchasing on the internet. The ordering process and description of the seat location was on right on target.

I enjoyed the actual Joyfest concert however, I think it is time to move away from the venue. The artists that were there were Marvin Sapp, Tye Tribbett, Kirk Franklin, Smokie Norful and last year's Sunday Best winner Crystal Aiken. I believe all the opening artists received a fair amount of time onstage but I feel the final 2 performers (Tye an Kirk) were rushed. When the Spirit is moving, it should not be interrupted or put on a time limit. All of the performances were great! Crystal Aiken has a powerful voice. Smokie Norful and Marvin Sapp are awesome at bringing you into worship. Tye Tribbett gave us the Word as well as ministered to uswith music. Kirk Franklin was the headliner and he was awesome!....he did some songs from back in his early days like "Melodies from Heaven"
Overall, it was the most amazing concert I've ever been to. Each of the artists was a headliner in their own right so the combination of all of them was stellar. All of the artists are so talented and they don't use back up tracks or anything, it's just their pure voices. The only negative thing about the concert was that Carowinds decided to end Kirk Franklin's set early because the sound staff had had trouble flipping the stage to accommodate Franklin's set-up. Kirk was only able to do three songs before he was told that he had to leave. The sold out crowd showed our corporate disappointment by staying in the theater and continuing to sing. Then the park forced attendees to walk around the outside of the park to go to parking lots that were on the opposite side of where we had been told to exit. Other than the way that the Carowinds staff behaved, the concert was truly a wonderful experience.
The show was great, it didn't top 08 but I would continue to go. I think the intermissions should have been added so people wouldn't miss anything. Loved the vendors, but to shorten lines, a few more selections should be added next time. Wonderful turkey legs just as they where last year. Keep doing what u r!
I really enjoyed Joyfest at carowinds the weather was great and music was great and it was my daughters birthday and i wanted to treat her to something special and I enjoyed myself and I bought along a friend and she had a blast had more fun than all of us together and that meant alot to me. So keep up the good work!
Joyfest was JOYFUL this year! Marvin Sapp, the gospel singer of the year, did not disappoint the crowd. He did "Never Would Have Made It," but he also performed his other songs. I left wanting to buy his older projects! Smokie Norful came with lots of energy! I was pleased with his performance. Tye Tribett is ALWAYS a crowd pleaser. I listened to his songs before the concert so that I could sing along to every single song. I was acting like a rock star for JESUS when GA was on the stage. Kirk Franklin attracted me to the concert this year, but he was a disappointment. I'm glad that he was the last act because I felt like his focus was more on entertaining than on worshipping.
The concert was absolutely amazing. The anointing of God was definitely in the place. From the time the show start until the end of the show God was all up in it. The only negative thing I can say about it was the last performer of the night, which was the awesome Kirk Franklin, did not get a chance to fully complete his concert. Thanks to the idiots at Carowinds he was force off the stage before he could complete his performace because Carowinds was closing. I will attend the concert next year, I just hope that next year even if the park closes and performers are on stage that they will let the performers finish instead of forcing them off stage and threating to call the Fire Marshall. We paid alot of money for tickets we should be able to see the whole performance. I think that is just Carowinds rules. I believe other parks stay open after parks hours so that the artist can complete their performances and the people can get what they paid for. Again, it was a wonderful, amazing, Godly experience that I will never forget and would recommand to everyone. I will definitely attend every year if I can. WONDERFUL!!!
The concert was excellency in praise and worship. Tye, Smokey, Marvin and Kirk were in best of form. Also a shout out to Carowinds on the improved sound system. It made each musician and singer be heard beautifully.
My 1st year back and love some of the improvements but I DO NOT like it starting at 4pm, the HEAT of the day! Love it years ago when it started at 5pm or 6pm, where the Sun had time to settle and have SHADE! Other than that, it was GREAT!
Overall, the experience was positive. Loved the artist line up. Recommend picture-taking take place during breaks, rather than interrupting artists ministering- Tasha Cobbs got a bad break with picture interruptions. Group therapy was outstanding. Two groups sent base frequencies that vibrated in the body. The latter group fixed the problem during the presentation, resulting in a better spiritual experience. Will continue to recommend Joyfest as long as they continue quality ministry. Appreciate the Joyfest heart, and overall goals.
The concert was AWESOME! Each artist ministered full-out! I was greatly disappointed that after purchasing the concert tickets, we had to purchase $49.00 tickets to get into the park to get to the concert. The advertisement for the concert stated the ticket to the park was included. I felt 'let-down' for the incorrect information.
This was a great day- into- night of praise and worship. Standout performances by Tye Tribbett and Tasha Cobbs-Leonard. Couldn't endure sitting the full extent of the concert during full sun exposure hours, so I missed Caleb Serrano and The Walls Group. Kings Dominion is merciless when it comes to picking the time of year and location for their venues. It's WAY TOO HOT to have people in an outdoor amphitheater in July with no fans or water mists! Fred Hammond, sadly, spent too much time talking than singing.
Nice location, great performers and price. This is my 2nd year attending and will be returning. And added bonus is the amusement park is included with the concert ticket.
I wish they had done meet and great at different time would like 2 gotten autograph. Missed Tosha Cobbs performance because of it and she is one of the artist I wanted to see. Love comedian, he did an outstanding job. Tent to cover, unshaded parts. Seats to close I was sitting pretty much on my neighbors laps and had to get up to let others in row. Over all enjoyed myself. Thanks see you next year!
Only issue was having to miss out on any performances for the VIP pictures. Maybe work those times out where the fans don t have to miss any other top artist. Also Kings Dominion needs a shelter ASAP!!! It s way too hot to have not added this upgrade
The concert was amazing. All of the participants were genuine and really poured out and we were all blessed by the variety of ministry that was presented. We were also blessed with wonderful weather, not too hot, not too cold. AWESOME TIME!
this was my first time attending joyfest but it WILL NOT be my last. I plan to go every year. I missed the one at Carowinds which was closer to where I stay and had to go to Kings Dominion. ALL THE ARTIST was amazing, genuine, holy ghost filled, it was awesome. the only complaint is, it was extremely hot around 100 degrees. I wish they would have it somewhere inside. But I managed to stay the entire time because it was so good. At first, after sitting in the heat I said I can't do this, I rather continue listening to them on Pandora or Iheart radio and just give up my seats. The concert was so amazing I couldn't leave.
It was great to come to a Christian event in the park. I was able to bring my daughter since I knew it would all be age appropriate and Godly music. This was my first time going to Joyfest but I would definitely do it again. Concert and park? Where could I go wrong?
The weather and atmosphere for Worship was awesome. All the artists were excellent. The price for the ticket and amusement park were very affordable. My family enjoyed the worship, rides, food and fun!
Waited in the hot sun for gates to open way pass the time for concert suppose to start. Once gates open we sit in Hot sun trying to enjoy the performance without any shade. I left early before the headliner came on....Paid $78
3rd year taking my family to Joyfest. Always a great experience. Would have liked to hear more from Tasha Cobbs and Tye Tribett. However, we did enjoy ourselves.
This was by far the best Joyfest yet. The way Kirk and Tamela remixed there songs was awesome! Travis Greene and Tasha Cobb was just an inspiration and Dee-1 definitely laid some tracks down.
It was a wonderful evening at Kings Dominion. Every single artist was great!!! They truly encouraged us in the things of God. It was not a show but a time of ministry in the uniqueness of each artist. The crowd was right in there with each music minister and it was such a beautiful event. I know that Kirk Franklin got blessed in the process. The audience knew his songs - verses and all. He was really touched by that and mentioned that this was first time ever. David Mann was a treat also. He had us all in stitches. I THOROUGHLY enjoyed myself and I THANK GOD for gracing us with such beaufitul weather. Looking forward to next year!
I really enjoyed Joyfest again this year! Everyone did great, but Tasha Cobbs was awesome. She has the oil and led us straight into worship. She had everyone messed up! It was my first time seeing her perform live and I would love to see her again. My second favorite was Jonathan McReynolds. I love his music and I always enjoy his gift. I enjoyed everyone else too. Erica Campbell did my song, I Luh God! Marcus D. Wiley was hilarious. You already know that Fred Hammond and Marvin Sapp did their thing as well. I got to take a picture with Fred Hammond and Bone Hampton was a great emcee as usual.
I am looking forward to going next year. The crowd was enthusiastic and everyone one was able to enter in to worship when the artists began to minister.
As usual Joyfest kept me cool and exhilarated in spite of the heat. Grateful to the performers who came out to entertain us. Tye and Tamela Mann started the worship wave and of course Mr. Hammond brought it home. I had not sung those worship songs for a long time.
This was my first time ever going to a Outside Gospel Concert, I was ready to praise and worship God, not just hear the performers. I HAd an awesome experience at the JOYfest and I will come again.
Joyfest was awesome from beginning to end. The acts were all exciting and The intermissions were very funny, too. Definitely has become an annual "must attend" event.
Kirk's performance in one word: PHENOMENAL! He did exactly what he promised, singing a LOT of the songs we'd hoped for. The band was amazing, and when he sang "Imagine Me", the presence of God was so strong, that no one could deny it! Tamela Mann can (as some of my older family members would say) "solid-bone sang"!!! We saw Humble Tip for the first time 2 years ago, and it's great to see him still being great at what he does...."I got my "SPF" on"! Lecrae; God has blessed him so much, and he is that voice that the young people really need, in this world today. He said it best, that he may not be for the mothers out their, but he represents their grandsons, etc. Great music to me! I appreciate Sherri, and how far she's come, but I would really love to see a show with ALL music (& Bone Hampton, cause he's just crazy!!! & his ongoing conversation about those "twins" with the same colored shirts-LOL!) I would love to go to King's Dominion to see the show again! Oh well, guess I'll have to wait for the SC show 8/31! Great lineup this year!
United Tenors gave a great performance. Fred Hammond, of course, was absolutely fabulous, as usual. But Kirk Franklin blazed the whole concert. Wonderful, I will go back every year!!!!! The meet and greet was not as good. Our time was really short and I felt rushed. I didn't even get 5 minutes with my fav artist Fred. I would like to get a chance to talk more and take a more personal picture. It was all so scripted and nothing personal. Next year I hope will give us more time to really greet Fred.
I loved seeing my favorites, Mary Mary & Fred Hammond! Marvin Sapp has a great testimony & it comes through in his songs. The ladies sang their hearts out! They love what they do. Fred is so seasoned as an artist! His show IS the gospel version of a Maze concert, we sing along from beginning to end, just filled with worship! Humble Tip & Lecrae were good too, but I wished the opening act was different. Bone Hampton should be kept as the MC each year. Bring these artists back next year!
I have been to JoyFest several times over the past few years, but I must say that this year was amazing!!! The event ran a little earlier than posted, which caused me to miss 21:03's performance, but that is nothing compared to the experience. CANTON JONES, MARVIN SAPP, FRED HAMMOND AND KIRK FRANKLIN! That combination of musicians and SINBAD's laugh til' your side hurts stand-up made this event something that my guy and I will never forget.
JoyFest 2010 was a great experience. The presence of the Lord was at the park. J Moss, Donald Lawrence, 2103 and Fred Hammond excelled in their music ministry. I would recommend everyone attend this event. Fred Hammond performed so many songs in the amount of time alloted. Awesome job!
Awesome concert! Great seats, great sound, great experience. I'm biased, because I am a HUGE Fred Hammond fan, but he did a fabulous job! The musicians were absolutely perfect! Donald Lawrence, in my opinion, was outstanding! His set was indescribable! I have always loved his music, but seeing him perform live was just too much!
What a wonderful event! 21:03, Chris Clark, J. Moss, Donald Lawrence, Sinbad... They were all great and showed out! Unfortunately, I had to leave right after Sinbad. : ( Although I wasn't there to see the rest of the concert, I know that Fred was dynamic as always. I would definitely go again and highly recommend JoyFest to those who want to be blessed by some awesome gospel music.
Joyfest 2010 at Carowinds was amazing! This was my third year in a row and it still exceeded my expectations. Tye Tribbett & G.A. were not on the line-up this year, but the show did not miss a beat! The ENERGY from 21:03 was CRAZY, who filled in for Canton Jones who was bereaved. The TRANSPARENCY and WORSHIP of J. MOSS gets a THUMBS-UP. The VOCALS of DONALD LAWRENCE & CO. were OUTSTANDING. The comedian SINBAD was really FUNNY. Then FRED HAMMOND showed off and had us JAMMING- REVAMPED SONGS, SUPER VOCALS and PHENOMENAL BAND. I really enjoyed myself and had plenty of room on the front row-center stage section to dance, one of the best seats in the house. I look forward to Joyfest 2011!
All were very good; just that with all the gospel artists they had on the line up, seemed like they were all rushing through their sets. should have been longer. Was blessed by what I heard though. Had a good variety of gospel artists.
All I can say is wow wow and wow!!! To God be the Glorrrrrryyyy!!! This was one of the best concerts that I have been to in my 40's something years of living! Starting from the beginning to the ending every group was perfect, God's hand was truly in this event. The music was excellent , the praising, worshipping, fellowship, the joy, peace, happiness Oh my God, what more can you ask for. The prices of the merchandise sold and food cost was very reasonable. The weather was excellent, it was like a calm and Holy Ghost filled atmosphere. Like Kirk Franklin stated ain't' no party like a Holy Ghost Party cause a Holy Ghost party don't stop! I thank God for this event I had the chance to dance again with my husband of twenty years, this was our anniversary weekend Yell! I am very thankful and pray that everyone who attended received a blessing like I did. Amen
I have gone to see Joyfest about 4 times now, each year it gets better. Big Fred (Hammond) was missing from the lineup this year; but, Kirk Franklin stopped by and closed it out. All of the tickets were sold out! Outstanding view, 3 rows from the stage; the weather was great, the performers did their thing and I managed to go on a couple of rides too. There is no way you could go to a show with all of those power performers, for that price! It was a spiritual awakening, as it always is. Make sure you attend next year; I ll be there.
I was empressed with Tye Tribett''s performance though he was not the headliner. I was kind of expecting more of the energy from Kirk Franklin. I enjoyed it nevertheless. Kirk took us way back with the ole school dancing and made it really fun. Kirk didn't talk through his music as much as normal but it was still a beautiful show.
I brought my husband along because I wanted to enjoy that weekend with him. He's not all excited about concerts, but I must say that he was jumping up and down by the end of the concert that night. I am blessed to have been there that night. I just moved to Georgia from Florida, so I had never heard of JOYFEST until I received an e-mail. A week before the concert, I had gotten upset with someone about a situation and I allowed it to change my mood about going to the concert. I'm so glad that I forgave that person (and vice versa) because it eased my mind and I was able to worship freely while I was at JOYFEST. I will DEFINITELY be back next year, if the Lord's will. --Rita (Florida Gal)
The setup team took too long between acts and never got setup in time for the main event. He had to just come out and do the best he could before his time ran out. Fortunately for the fans, He (Kirk Franklin) did not take it out on us that the stage was not setup for him, as he came out without mics being ready for him. This is one of the best lineups ever presented by the Joyfest at Carowinds. Each artist gave great performances of their music. It wasn't just a show, but a great worship service.
Joyfest 2017 was absolutely amazing. Every artist delivered a powerful message as well as performed an outstanding show. It was worth enduring the heat to be apart of an amazing performance. Kirk Franklin showed up and showed out....he shut it down. I am looking forward to next year.
It was very HOT on this past Saturda, but it didn't stop me from enjoying this amazing JOYFEST in VA...All the artist were awesome and KIRK FRANKLIN (THE BEST at what he do). He put on an amazing show!
Great event. My 2nd time to attend and enjoyed it even more. Mann Sr was at another level. As for Kirk Franklin. ..what can be said? He's simply the best. So inspiring, so talented, so entertaining, so lovable. He keeps it real. God bless
This was an excellent show from beginning to end. I posted some on Facebook during the show just to let folk know what they were missing. It was hot but the show was hotter. I sang like it was a spring day. Amazing is not a strong enough word to describe the performances.
Joyfest was a great way to see many of my favorite gospel artists in one place! During the concert I laughed, cried, worshipped, danced and sang! I left feeling revived! Although I wished the event had taken place indoors because it was sooo hot, I would definitely go again! The six hour drive was worth it!
Joyfest was excellent. I traveled from PA to be there because this was the closest to us. The only thing that could make it better is if they come to Philadelphia or NJ. The performers were wonderful. The crowd was amazing. Can't wait till next year.
It was a blessing to be in the atmosphere. If people come to this with the weather being in the upper 80's low 90's, someone means business for God....
I really enjoyed Joyfest and had the time of my life. The price is very reasonable and artist were amazing. It was nice seeing all of the people shouting and praising the Lord.
It was a hot day, but If your focus was on God then it didn't matter. All of the musicians and artist came and did a great job! It cooled of as time went on and it got better and better. It was well worth the price...which included park admission.
This was our first Joyfest and I was totally in love. From the opening act, each performance just got better and better. The opportunity to worship with other saints outside of the church and with some of my favorite artists was surreal.
The performers were great however this probably be my last concert unless the venue is changed. I can no longer take the heat!!! Please Please Please find a different venue for this great concert!!
