Jackson Browne

Jackson Browne

One of the true legends of the 20th century American singer-songwriter movement, the great Jackson Browne has been producing soulful, catchy music for over 40 productive years. His live performances are intimate, memorable occasions, treating ticket buyers to gorgeous melodies and introspective lyrics that fill the room and the hearts of concert-goers. Jackson Browne tours also include some beautiful sing-alongs, particularly for the favorite, "Load Out/Stay," a tribute to the concert-goers and the roadies. The future member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame started off his career in the folk-music hotbed of Greenwich Village, earning raves for his work with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band before embarking on a solo career.

With a different band than I have seen before Jackson Browne delivered a 2.5 hour blockbuster show. He invited us into his home and presented a wonderful evening.

My 12th time seeing Jackson Browne in concert and as always his performances are the BEST. This was my longest trip to see him--from Carson City NV to Boise ID but so worth it. I have been a huge fan since the Late for the Sky days. My wife, now an American citizen from Hong Kong, loves him almost as much as I do--he speaks slowly and explains the why and when a song came to him. Now just waiting on number 13. Keep it going, Jackson. You are the best.

Jackson Browne's tried-and-true talent shone through brilliantly at the Ive's Center Monday night as he performed before an enthusastic sellout crowd. And not to disappoint, fans called out tunes and he accommodated on numerous occasions. Three hours later the audience was standing and cheering as the tempo picked up and he ended the show with his longtime hit "Running On Empty." Browne was right on after all these years, proving that enduring rock stars don't necessarily have to fade away so long as they can still pack a punch. His was a knockout!

This was one of thee best shows I've been to in a long time. Jackson Browne played such a songlist! The Ives Center is a great venue. The night was beautiful out-of-doors and the 12 of us had a wonderful picnic. Not being able to bring beverages is a bit of a hassle though. Staff was vrey friendly. Everyone said that this was a SPECTACULAR time. I see that the reserved seats were full all night long, usually half the crowd leaves an hour in, so that tells you what good energy abounded. The two female backup singers with Jackson were wonderful, they really sounded great. Everyone rushed the stage at the end and we were all dancing and singing-fun,fun,fun!

Not having seen Jackson Browne before I wasnt sure what to expect....I was pleasantly surprised to hear his voice as strong as it always has been and a very tight band of professional musicians backing him up. He interacted well with the audience and seemed genuinly happy to be performing.

The venue was outstanding for a concert and the weather couldn't have been better. Browne hit the stage at 7:40 and played a mix of new and old songs that had the crowd cheering wildly. After an hour, he took a 15 minute intermission and came back and played for another hour and 20 minutes. He talked to the crowd frequently in between songs and seemed to be enjoying himself. He remarked that the Ives Center was a beautiful place and that he had never played there before. He played 5 songs from his latest CD and the rest were old favorites and songs from his older material. His band is very good and the 2 back up singers add a whole new dimension to his performances. All in all, a great evening of music

Everything about the performance was great. Jackson hasn't lost anything to this point. Other than some obnoxious attendees who just sat there and talked as if they were home on their decks, the entire experience at the Ives was enjoyable.

I have never been to Casino Rama for a concert. I was very impressed with the acoustics. The song lyrics were clear and sharp and the sound mix was perfect. Jackson was in fine form with a great rapport with the audience. My only negative criticism was the concert was too short at only an hour and forty minutes. Another 20 or 30 minutes would have made it truly amazing and 5 star. Still, I would go again in a heartbeat!

Jackson Browne provided fans with a show that demonstrates his deep understanding of his fans. He was conversational, complimentary to hia audience and truly enjoyed himself on stage with his precision performing band. Our attending group of fans aged 55 to 60 were amazed at Jackson's energy, not to mention his never aging youthful looks. Thanks Jackson!

We had a fun time up at Casino Rama seeing Jackson Browne last night. I had seen him on a number of occasions before, including solo acoustic. The best part of the show was the addition of two fantastic backup singers, Althea Mills and Chavonne Morris. They really brought new life to some of the older songs including a poignant "Lives in the Balance." What is with Jackson Browne's hair? It is getting a little bit grey but it looks just like it did in 1969! I would have enjoyed to hear a little more older material.... he tends to stick a lot to his 1990's and 2000 material... If anyone knows Jackson Browne personally tell him he should do the song "Hold on Hold Out" or "Of Missing Persons" with the new singers in the band... it would be great!

I love Jackson's beautiful melodies, I love his lyrics-he is a great poet!, and I also think he is handsome. I used to say to my friends I wish I could marry Jackson! (LOL!), because I like his personality so much. I'm most impressed by his strong sensitivity which is beautifully displayed in his music and lyrics. I can honestly say, I have every single one of his records, that ever came out, and any time he comes to my hometown of Cincinnati, I always make sure I get a ticket to come see him! He is my first choice! to go see, if I see his name on a list of concert events. Thank you., Jackson , for filling my heart with such wonderful tunes! Always, "Rome."

I don't know how many times I've seen Jackson Browne over the years, but this particular concert was so enjoyable. The Humphreys venue is smaller and more intimate than most, and it was perfect for a Jackson Browne concert. It was also nice to have no opening act, just got straight to the reason why we were there. As always, Jackson Browne was entertaining, he played a good variety of songs (maybe more old vs. new), and always enjoy his "banter" in between songs.

Great concert. We were in the 2nd row. It was almost like being on stage. Jackson did two sets w no opening act. He walked on stage at 8pm w no fanfare, played for a little over an hour, took a 20 minute break and played an even longer second set. The second set ended at 11pm so he played for over 2.5 hours. He did a great mix of classics and newer material and took a couple of requests from the crowd during the first set. The venue was very nice, with good acoustics and large video monitors on either side of the stage. BTW. Awesome backing band.

Great venue to see JB! I've seen him at The Pearl three times, and this concert was his best! The band was amazing, and JB sounded like he was twenty-one. He played over two hours with no political rants. Played songs you rarely hear in concert- "Call it a Loan", "Naked Ride Home", as well as the hits, "Fountain of Sorrow", "The Pretender", "Shape of a Heart", and on and on. I've seen JB over twenty times since 1972, and this truly was one of the best!

I haven't see Jackson Browne for a couple decades, so I was a bit worried he might not be as good as the old days. Well, I had no reason to worry... he played so many of his oldies, and some new as well, it was like trip down memory lane. I liked that he tried some songs he hadn't played for a long time, and that kept the band on their toes. Speaking of the band... wow... so many talented musicians on one stage... all playing off of each other... what fun. I hope I get to see Jackson again before a couple more decades go by.

We were about 12 minutes late, due to the restaurant where we had dinner being slammed. When we arrived, Jackson Browne was already into his 3rd song. So, GET THERE ON TIME! He played some songs from his new album, and some of his older ones. After about an hour, he took a "short, 15 minute break". After the break, the band came out promptly and played some familiar tunes. He asked if we wanted to hear "Stay", which of course we did. He played a beautiful version of it, all alone on his piano. Joked afterward that they usually leave after playing that song. But he and the band kept playing for another hour or so, with 1 encore. We enjoyed his stories between songs, hearing why he wrote certain songs, stories about Glenn Frey and the old days. His voice sounded good. Not perfect and exactly like the old days, but very good. He's quite the entertainer!

As advertised, the show started on time (which is always appreciated) and the Beacon is a great venue. JB put on a terrific show and sounded great. The band was terrific (singers and players). As usual, Jackson interacted with the audience and modified the set list from the previous performance. In short, it was a great night out.

It was a great concert, his voice was just as great as it was 40 years ago but he didn't do the roadie song, played too many other songs we didn't know. But on the whole it was a wonderful show. I've seen him many many times and I will continue to. There were just so many songs that he should've sang. Check out the set list on setlist.com. This was the second date of his summer tour with his band. I'm glad he did have an intermission. Hoping he comes back to upstate New York soon.

Jackson Browne is a consummate performer. We saw him at the Embassy Theater in Fort Wayne near the end of his tour and in spite of absences by band mates, every single note he played was spot on, every song he sang sounded heartfelt and sincere. Unfortunately, almost all of the songs he sang were songs the audience was not familiar with. In a two hour set, he sang only four or five songs from his heyday and only two, 'Running on Empty' and 'Doctor My Eyes' can be said two be among his more famous. The other two, "In the Shape of a Heart, Fountain of Sorrow, For a Dancer" were well received but only a more than casual fan might be familiar with them. The rest of the show was filled with his new album and while well done, much could have been substituted for essential crowd pleasers. Missing were 'Late for the Sky, The Pretender, The Loadout/Stay' and just about every other song that made him famous. One great standout was his cover of Eagles 'Take it Easy' You could tell it was the end of the tour. Jackson seemed forgetful and distracted; having to ask the audience twice if he had ever played Fort Wayne before and giving a rambling, disjointed introduction to 'If I could be anywhere.' Fort Wayne was an add-on date (not even on the concert t-shirt I purchased) so one gets the feeling they were less prepared than they might have been. None of this is to say the show was not enjoyable. As stated, Jackson Browne is famous for a reason. He is a master craftsman when it comes to music and if we didn't get to hear all of the songs we wanted, we did get to hear some fantastic music that was well played.

Jackson Browne played a very good mix of new and older/more familiar material for about 2 and a quarter hours, non-stop. He and the band clearly enjoyed playing together; it showed in the quality of the performance. Make no mistake, this was not another 60+ performer taking a stroll down memory lane. Jackson is continuing to write and perform great new material, too. He blended new and old together for a delightful evening. This was also one of the few shows where the lighting guys hit every cue perfectly, the sound quality was always spot on, etc...a technically tight show!

Jackson's voice was true and strong. Enjoyed hearing some of his new tunes. His opening group was impressive. Theresa Williams put it all out there. Then when Jackson came out we realized her husband (sorry can't remember his name) was the lead guitarist for Jackson. All the band members we awesome and guitarist rocked many different instruments. I was disappointed they didn't play more old songs after the new ones and especially disappointed he didn't sing "Stay". Would I go again? Only if I had a promise he would sing me Stay. Jackson Browne is a consistently great singer/songwriter/performer. His band was great! My daughter came along to hear one of my favorites from my early high school days on through to the present. I ve been to several Jackson Browne concerts here in the St. Louis area - at Mississippi River Festival back in the day and now at the beautiful Peabody Opera House. Unlike other concerts where some artists do not perform at 100% of what they once could, the contrary is true for this concert. Jackson sounds as wonderful as ever and his band is fabulous. ndconcerts
At this point in Jackson Browne's long career, he could be excused if he decided to 'Take It Easy', especially given the passings of some of his friends (Gregg Allman, Warren Zevon, Glenn Frey) and the pending retirements of several others. But at 69, the man has lost none of his power to move an audience, and his voice is still perfect. Such was the case at this concert, the third time I've seen Jackson perform (not counting the two times I've seen him partake in benefits alongside such names as Carlos Santana, Alice Cooper and Bonnie Raitt), and I'm very glad I made the five-hour drive to see this performance. He's always been a gracious soul both on and offstage, and even more so on this night. Thankfully, Jackson doesn't try to mask his performance by miming along to vocal tapes; some of his peers do this, and I've always found the practice dishonest. I'd rather have imperfection with honesty rather than perfection with deceit. I was close, and it was quite clear that Jackson wasn't using any 'vocal enhancement', other than his two spectacular backup vocalists Chavonne Stewart and Alethea Mills, who added a LOT to "Lives In the Balance", in the first half of the show. Pedal steel ace Greg Leisz, who I've seen with artists like K.D. Lang, Eric Clapton and Bill Frisell over the years, was also a welcome addition, because his sound added so much to Jackson's already powerful songs. Since Browne's not touring with an album this year, some may assume that this is a 'greatest hits' tour, and some were performed; from my seat, "Doctor My Eyes" got a huge response from the audience, as did "Running On Empty" and a rare, welcome airing of "Somebody's Baby", from the "Fast Times At Ridgemont High" soundtrack in 1982. As great as all of these classics were, my favorite was a deep track that I had forgotten about: "Something Fine", which just lept off the stage for me. The majority of the setlist was given to several of Jackson's more introspective, non-hit work like "Late for the Sky", "Call It a Loan" and a pair of Warren Zevon covers, one of which was an audience request. Over the course of the nearly 2 1/2 hour concert (including an intermission), the audience was really responsive, which visibly moved Jackson quite a lot. I do think that ending the evening with the 1973 deep track "Our Lady of the Well" was an odd choice to close out the show, because it followed the enthusiastically received (and much more upbeat) "Take It Easy", which Jackson co-wrote with Glenn Frey (the song was shared between them, becoming an album track for Jackson and major breakthrough hit for the Eagles, Frey's band). Still, it was in keeping with the overall intimacy of the evening. This was the second-best concert I'd seen Jackson perform; only the first, which was solo acoustic, was marginally better, years ago.

This tour he has a set list and people aren't constantly yelling out songs for him to play. I know because he had to explain this to one patron, lol. His voice was strong and he played a mix of songs from most of his albums. I went home pleased once again to have seen him in person.

I have seen JB more than a dozen times since the 1970's. In my opinion, this was one of his best shows. JB's voice shows no age and his band is outstanding. I was particularly impressed with the pedal steel and lap steel playing (reminded me of the shows with David Lindley) and the two ladies providing backing vocals. The setlist was great, with my only regret being that JB did not play Barricades. Shows at the Oakdale Theatre are excellent. There is ample parking (get there a little early) , there is plenty of room inside, seating is very comfortable. My only complaint is that food and drink is too expensive, but I guess that is to be expected. The venue is a bit over an hour's drive for me but well worth it. My favorite songs were the opener, Before the Deluge and one of his newer songs, The Long Way Around. Both are classic JB!

Jackson with his band was fantastic. Great vibe with him "playing songs fans yell out". Has a huge repertoire so he played some oldies from older albums one hasn't heard in guise a while. Nothing is better than Running on Empty in concert. Going strong approaching 70... Will see home again soon.

JB was on his A Game when he kicked off his show in Baltimore last Thursday night and stayed on it until his band mates played their last note. His backup singers were off the chart...a must see if JB comes your way. Two things kept it from being a perfect night, actually three. One, the show didn't start on time as people were arriving late...shame on them vs mw. Two the 15 minute intermission that JB announced was longer than 15 minutes, doesn't work for me...15 is 15 not 20. And on my bucket list is Stay/Load Out and didn't end the evening with it, sadly.

Jackson Browne, Waikiki Shell, clear night, relaxed & in great voice. What more could you want? Paradise with a Rock n Roll legend. Dr My Eyes, The Pretender, Take it Easy, Running on Empty... & everything new old & seldom heard live. Plenty of Dialogue with the Audience. My wife & I recently have seen him two other times. Both noting how relaxed he seemed. Jackson s the quasesential singer songwriter His voice was in perfect tone. More mature, perhaps even better than ever. And his new material sounds as good as his classics. Which, btw, still hold up. You know the definition of ‘A Classic. A song that never sounds dated, sounding just as fun today as it did when first released. Timeless. & always relevant. Politics? You bet. After all Jackson headed up the No Nukes campaign in the late 70 s & isn t afraid of taking a stand for what s right. ‘The first plastics made are still hear on this Earth. No worries, if you re not into those types of things, his show isn t about politics. It s about ‘love, peace & understanding. We were very grateful to have yet another opportunity to see an outdoor Jackson Browne concert. & The Waikiki Shell proved to be the perfect venue. What a beautiful night that was. The only wrinkle, and it s a doozy, was when the grand finale; Load Out tried to segue into Stay... Just a Little Bit Longer... the mike died & lights came up. It was 10pm. & everyone in the Iskand knows what that means... The Infamous 10pm Island Noise Ordinance! All shows must end. Thank you Blue Oyster Cult. Although I was there too. & that was one h-e-double hockey sticks of a show! But I digress, the irony of not being able to sing along to Maurice William s & the Zodiac s Running on Empty LP closing Stay was hilarious. & no worries, law enforcement. The audience sang the words all the way to their cars. LOL. MAHALO Jackson MAHALO

Amazing performance and voice as same as the last time I saw in 40 years ago. However I was disappointed one thing that the concert was forced to finish by electric shut-down of time-up at 10 pm due to the rule of Waikiki shell, the out-door theater in the town.It is so unbelievable that fading out of "Load Out" without "Stay" was the last song at that night. I think the concert should be scheduled earlier than 7 pm.

I read some reviews of the tour and I guess some people can never be satisfied. I still bought tickets and am Happy to say that I almost never listen to Bad reviews because the show was Great!!! He played some obscure songs I was unfamiliar with and a lot of Classics everyone came to hear, it was a Wonderful evening for my wife's night out. One kind of funny note specific to Waikiki Shell, in Honolulu is that there is sound ordinance and during his last song of the Finale, The Load-Out and Stay he ran a little long and the power was shut off It was a little anticlimactic but the show was Great nevertheless !! We traveled from the Big Island to Oahu to be there Very glad we didn't miss it.

I went both nights (2-24 & 2-25) the opening act John Trudell's Bad Dog, with Joel Rafael, excellent. Of course Jackson was is very good spirits and looked so happy to be on the stage both nights, playing many of his fan favorites, and kept us wanting MORE! The Pechanga concert venue EXCELLENT, I highly recommend this venue for future shows.

No opening act. Good seats, Good price. Easy and free parking. Excellent musicians all equal a wonderful night. It was our first time seeing Jackson Browne in concert and found him surprisingly engaging with the audience. Many shouted out songs for him to play. One was a song he said they never play in concert and changed things up to play it. Pretty great.

JB sounded incredible, a relaxed atmosphere, it was like he was just a good friend, with amazing talent, that stopped by for a visit. He sang both old and newer songs, cracked jokes, talked about what's been going on lately, and his new album. He even spoke about a few of his guitars and people he's collaborated with. He performed for 2 hours with only a 15 minute break. He was at the piano and at the mic with a guitar. He sang a song a friend that passed away in January, shared a story about playing a concert in Jamaica, and made everyone comfortable. It was like we were all invited to a jam session. Would definitely go see him again.

Jackson is a perfectionist, he sings so many songs that everyone really loves so long ago and still. Also he sings so many newer songs that are awesome. And (it's like where have i been?) It's apparent that his fans love all his songs. The first time i ever saw Jackson in person in concert was at the Greek Theater 08/17/2016; i fell in love with Jackson Browne. He is better now than ever if that's possible. Also didn't know he can hear the audience from the stage when he wants to, or not, didn't understand this before, lol. One of my favorite songs is: 'The Long Way Around'.

Loved the show! Didn't realize Mr. Browne was so personable. I loved the way he would start playing a song, change his mind, grab a different guitar, then play an entirely different song. He even started playing an older song, realized he was off- restarted the song and laughed, suggesting he hasn't played the set in quite a while.

I have been enjoying Jackson Browne's music for over 40 years, but after seeing him perform over a dozen times in the last millennium, except for his appearances at anti-war rallies in L.A. and Hollywood, this was the first time I saw him perform in concert since he organized and starred in a benefit to raise money for a Native American school in Sedona, AZ, in 1998. To my surprise, Jackson's voice, his music, and his engagement with his audience, were as good as always, if not better. Of course, I have always appreciated his politics and his activism. He is one artist who has never "sold out," always remaining true to his inner voice, yet he somehow manages to keep his youthful appearance, while the rest of us grow older by the day. The night was enchanting, listening to him perform some of his best music, along with a talented group of musicians, and a couple of great female vocalists to back him up. It was a memory that I hope I keep forever. Thank you Mr. Browne!

The Copley Symphony Hall is a wonderful venue for a reunion to hear Jackson play once again. For the past 35+ years dating back to grad school our group of friends have attended JB concerts. His songs remind us of the successes and failures during our youth, like falling in love all over again. JB should have an honorary Professorship in musicology! Great to hear and meet his new band, what a wonderful mentor. His new crew played in great synchrony, and as he admitted knew the standard better than he!

Had great seats for Jackson Browne concert at the Orpheum Theatre in Omaha. Opening act was Sean and Sara Watkins. Then Jackson came on did a full two hours of great songs switching from the guitar to piano and back. He joked with the audience about each time he is in Omaha he brings back retro furnishings. This time he wanted to send 50's light fixtures to all his friends. During his performance he brought in the Watkins on some songs. The staging and lighting was superb. Jackson fielded requests from the audience and how he pulls off singing songs from over a dozen albums is beyond me. The last set fInished up with and encore of "Running on Empty" and "Blue and Black" I've read a lot of JB tour reviews. Almost universally 2-3 stars came from those who knew JB's music only in passing. All they wanted was a greatest hits tour. (Listen to Rick Nelson's- "Garden Party..." ) They complained about B-side songs. He has never been a top forty singer and as you listen to his music an lyrics they grow on you. So to all those who wrote crappy reviews... do your homework and listen to all the songs on all the albums!

Having seen Jackson several times, dating back over 25 years I am a true fan. But I think this was my favorite show of them all. As he explained, what was originally intended to be a solo acoustic show was changed up simply because he was having so much fun playing with his friends in LA he didn't want to stop. And it showed. His wonderful songs are a given. But to me what made this such a great show was his just his good natured, down to earth presentation. It felt like the audience were listening in as he and his friends jammed in the studio. From the first tune to the last he was engaged with the audience. So much so that when someone asked him to play his favorite song he did. And it was a Leonard Cohen number. The hits were of course represented but not in any order, as he put it, they have a set list, they just never go by it. Rather he played songs as he read the room, answering one request saying that he couldn't play two songs back to back that sound alike. As if to say he himself would get confused. As a fan I found that I got a peek into who Jackson is, and how much he loves to play this music with his friends. What more could a fan ask for?

Jackson Browne was everything we could have wished for. He played long into the evening and satisfied us with favorites, his own choices, and encores. The security at the venue was lax enough to let us fans get up at the end and do what Jackson clearly was encouraging - dance, come close to the stage, move, sing, and be a living, breathing part of the show. It would have been sad if they had clamped down and made everyone sit down, but the generosity of spirit suited Jackson's shows, and it was just what should have happened.

This was only the second time that I had seen Jackson Browne in concert. It was a superb performance. He personally introduced his opening act and came out and played guitar with them on a couple of songs---what a generous performer he is. His voice sounded great and he talked a lot to the audience. Every song sounded fabulous. He is the real deal. Singer, musician and songwriter. Don't miss an opportunity to see him!

I have seen a few of Jackson Browne's contemporaries in concert and even though they sing the songs and the melodies that you know - their voices just sound old. Not so with Jackson Browne! His voice sounded as if you were playing your old Running on Empty album way back when you first bought it. He was the consummate performer. He interacted with the audience who was doing a lot of shouting out songs they wanted him to play. He didn't play from a set list so when someone shouted Shaky Town for example, he played it. He also reacted to all the song shout-outs by saying how honored he was that we would come to his show and clamor out for his songs. He was also very gracious thanking the crowd numerous times for coming to the show, and how much he enjoyed being there. I was duly impressed and I have seen a lot of shows this summer. The warm-up/back-up band was also very good. They were young and very starry eyed at singing with Jackson Browne and it was fun to see.

Jackson makes the new songs unforgettable and the classics...well they are classics. He did some songs from his own playlist but did many songs that were requested such as one of my all time personal favorites, "For A Dancer." He told a little story about the song that shed new light on its actual meaning. There are artists that perform well and there are the truly great artists that have the ability to engage the audience. That is Jackson Browne. Such amazing rapport; this concert had the feel of an even more intimate room. Truly a show that I did not want to see end.

Great concert and I had the best seat. It was a very loose concert. I would have preferred a slightly different set list, but not complaining. There were many unhappy fans, that just wanted to hear his top 10 songs. He actually played 2 of my favorite songs, so i was very happy. There were several songs I was not familiar with, but they sounded great and he is just so likeable. I am so glad I went and really enjoyed my evening. I am considering seeing him again this tour.

A solid, generous performance by a great musician. The audience wanted his standards and Jackson provided them, with Sarah Wakins' fiddle kicking them up a notch. I would have still liked to have heard "After the Deluge," but I guess I should have shouted louder.

Great show with Jackson playing many of his non mainstream songs from his vast catalogue. A very intimate performance-mostly accoustic with different musicians joining Jackson on stage at various times. It reminded me a lot of the old days when Saturate before using was released-Jackson Browne doing what he does best and conecting to the audience.

Jackson was so endearing! He interacted with the audience so comfortably, and really seemed to be having fun! He was open to requests, which is always fun. I loved his simple stage set.... those twelve beautiful guitars lined up, and a simple keyboard. His voice was in PERFECT form! His good friend Bonnie Raitt made a guest appearance, which was real special. I have been to a hell of a lot of shows this year, and this one ranked #1!

Jackson Browne in a solo setting is very intimate with a lot of commentary you don't get when he is with a band. There was no set list. Jackson played may requests including a song I requested "Opening Farewell" that I have not heard him preform live in over 35 years. He pulled it out of his head like he had just written it. Jackson has some of the best sounding acoustic guitars around. As a solo act you get to see just how good a musician he is. The arrangments were fantastic. One of the best sounding concerts I've been to in a while.

Browne sang familiar and newer songs. His singing was faithful to the original versions, with enough variations to make them fresh. While his singing, guitar playing and keyboards are the main draws, it's also very refreshing to see a performer with humility and sincerity. I took my partner to a Madonna concert a few years back, and both of us found her prancing ego off putting. She went on staged an hour and a half late, ignored the audience, and acted as if she was doing us a favor being there (at $200 a ticket). Browne's more intimate "unplugged" style concert was a much preferred treat. This guy is real, and talented.

Jackson Brown has proven himself, in my mind, that he is a consummate professional. He alone took the stage with 15 acoustic guitars, an electric acoustic and keyboards, and proceeded to put on an enjoyable and cohesive performance. As is custom, I departed the show early. But what I did experience was very memorable. Parking at the Broward Performing Arts is never a problem, though the $15 was a little steep. It had gone up from $10 in past times, alas, a sign of the times. The Center is clean and most all of the seats are good. I thought I had better seats than was the case, but at least I could see fairly well. There are plenty of restaurants and pizza nearby, and I was even able to get an espresso. A nice evening all in all. If the person reads this that was there, whom I stepped on her toe when I was leaving. I am truly sorry for being such a klutz, I deserve to be sued.

Browne is untouchable in terms of talent. My father was a huge fan and as a result, I have developed a great appreciation for the rawness and beauty of Jackson Browne's work. 20 guitars, one piano and Jackson Browne...WOW!! It was great. The Venue at the Horseshoe Casino was a great place for an acoustic show-not a bad seat in the house. He came out with no real set list, just picked a guitar and played whatever he felt like or something the crowd shouted out to him.

Even without considering the fact that this was for a great cause, this was an outstanding show. For me there was only 1 act that dampened the event (note to Jerry Riopelle - if no one in the audience knows who you are, don't screw around getting set up during the show) every other act was excellent. From the local acts that opened the show to the finale, each act was fresh and energetic. Having the headliners, Browne, Crosby & Nash perform with other acts was a nice touch. This was a small multi-purpose arena and I had no great expectations for the sound, but KUDOS TO THE SOUND MAN - THE SOUND WAS INCREDIBLE!

I have been going to concerts since the mid 1960's and the Jackson Browne Benefit Concert aka "The Fund for Civility, Respect and Understanding" was the most powerfully moving concert I have ever attended. All of the performing artists were extrordinary. The songs that were performed had POWERFUL meaning. It is SO VERY APPROPRIATE that tonight Tucson's own, Alice Cooper, is being inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame! Good job everyone!! Let's keep his good vibration rolling!!!
