Awesome to see all the players up close and personal. We were able to watch putting on 15 and 5 while also watching teeing off on 6 and 16 all from one location.

For those of you that love golf, the Byron Nelson Golf Tournament never ceases to impress me. This is the third year in a row I have attended and I absolutely love the set up on the greens. The panels were larger this year due to hometown favorite, Jordan Spieth, playing in the tournament. The weather was fantastic as we followed Tim Wilkinson from Friday thru Sunday. He ended up in top ten and it was exciting to watch him play.

The HP Byron Nelson has seen a slump in attendence the last few years and this year the final two rounds were played by not one top 20 player. The reason is simple. The HP Byron Nelson Championship is set up much more like a Dallas party than a golf tournament. Unruley crowds and drunken spectators make the decision for PGA Tour pros to skip this event an easy one. Also, the fact that this event is held in the scoarching month of May hurts the event. One final factor negatively effects this event. The tournament is held at the TPC Las Colinas. This is by no means the best course in Dallas, but it has the facilities to host an event of this magnitude. A change of date, venue, and a better handling of the crowds would go a long way in sprucing up this event.

This is annual huge sporting event in the area, recommended to eventually everyone, from young to experienced, from solo to large group and family. We may need few more big name golfers, like full of top 10 rankers, to draw even larger crowds, like used to.

This was my first PGA tournament to attend. We had a lot of fun. My only wish would have been that more of the big named players would have been there, but the golf was still fantastic to watch. My plan is to try to take in another PGA tournament next year!

After Byron Nelson past he is known for his class before his golf. He was a true gentleman and we witnessed that again this week. During this time of struggle for the PGA, due to action of a certain player, it is good to see new youth and promise.

I thought the weather delay on Thursday was a bit of overkill. We arrived at 10:45 a.m. but did not see a golfer until 2:30 p.m. . . . . there were minor sprinkles but no thunder or lightening. Had to wait 20 minutes for a chicken sandwich. The outdoor TV monitors were so consumed with advertising . . . repetitive advertising . . . such a bore. In a weather delay you could at least show some golf . . . Thought the whole place was way too commercialized . . . but perhaps I have been spoiled by growing up in Augusta . . . Rest rooms were always accessible . . . beer was good and cold . . . your volunteers were top notch.

Firstly, when we arrived at the venue with our tickets, the parking attendant gave us the wrong directions to the Red Lot, and also we have paid for VIP service and expected VIP parking. Secondly the venue on the 17 & 18th hole was not as comforting, and the design was poor and uncomfortable. There should have been food served inside the clubhouse, and the sings were not clear enough as to where to go for the guests. Overall, the event was great, but the hospitality and help should have been better at the venue. We went on Saturday from 3-6pm.

Overall it is a great event, we have attended for the last few years. Many new golfers in the field, finally its not all about tiger. The course really looked wonderful, we attended on Friday and was not a crowded as we were expecting. We went over to the Pavilion for food and a few beers. I realize the prices are not going to be reasonable ... its a golf event everyone has their hand in the till. The prices this year were through the roof ...... 35.00 for 5 Bud Lights? and then the server wants a 20% tip!!! The organizers really need to think about future customers will anyone really pay these prices. The band Friday night was great, funny, engaging, creative I was glad we stayed to watch and listen. Sorry to say the DJ Friday afternoon was very poor. Again not really looking around knowing his audience he was playing Metallica ?? How about some 80's party music?

Unless you score a free ticket, buying one to this event is not worth the money. Drinks are expensive and small, cheesy vendors unrelated to the crowd demographic, limited viewing and blah entertainment...at the end. Don't waste your money on a ticket and another $30 on parking. Plus they took my printed ticket at the door so I had no way of showing admission.

Finding parking in the direction we came from was challenging as the directions on the website said look for the HPBN signs. There was none heading east and the one heading west tracked so slowly that all we saw was GOLF PARKING. After a couple of attempts we found the parking. Food service was poor. There was no cheese for the cheeseburgers and the tongs for condiments had fallen into the grass. Mix that in with a group of twenty something guys who were rattling their beer in a bucket and shouting at troubled John Daly "Hey man a beer for that shot" along with aggressive wares hawkers as you enter the gate and you have a poorly organized and a somewhat disgraceful time that does not honor Byron. Golf was good though.

For $150 you effectively got free drinks. The seats were in the shade and views of the greens was fine but with the low turnout there was no issue finding a seat much closer to the action right up against the ropes. Just not worth the money.

The event was very well run. I enjoyed the beautiful day. Unfortunately, the venue is not the best for watching golf. It is hard to get a vantage point where you can track the hit balls. The course is laid out so that you get maximium walking from hole to hole. At 64 this was a little too much for me. Most tournaments I have attended gave me a better view of play.

Great experience for my first time other than attending and watching. They had what they said they would have. Great room to get out of the heat for food and cold drinks and TV. I went to the Colonial the week before so I was expecting the same type of atmosphere when I went to the Byron Nelson- I was very wrong about this expectation. It almost seemed like I was at a NASCAR race instead of a golf tournament. Most people there seemed like they were just there to drink and be loud. I would not attend again even if I was paid to do so.

Paid for three $110 tickets thinking I'd be overlooking the 18th green eating food and having drinks in the shade at least. Not the case... the food was in a nice casita BY THE DRIVING RANGE. That wasn't mentioned when I bought these Mastercard tent tickets. They did have a box out in the sun on the 18th that was ridiculously hot, but no food there. Need more detail next time I get these kind of tickets.

Everything was taken care of short of walking from a car to a shuttle and from the bus to the entrance. Haveing everything taken care of up front was somewhat akin to a trip to an all-inclusive resort which is always nice because you know what you are going to spend, less souvenirs, up front. The grand-stand seating on the eighteenth was fantastic as was the drink service. This was my first trip to the Byron Nelson but this VIP Package assured me that it will not be my last. I'd debate Visa on this one because Mastercard was everywhere I want to be.

As many locals know, the Nelson Golf tournament has lost much of its luster since the death of the venerable Byron Nelson. However, all those associated with the event, particularly the Salesmanship Club and the Four Seasons, have not allowed the formidable standards from its heyday to drop. This is still a first-rate event with great golf.

Unfortunately there was way too many social butterflies out there on Saturday that didn't display the etiquette you would expect at a national golf event. Chatting and cackling like a chicken as a player is only 10 feet away trying to make a recovery shot and stay alive. And then there were the rude fans who would step right in front of you to get closer.... Guess what, we paid for our tickets too! Hoping for a better experience at the Colonial.

It seemed like a second rate tournament, not the first class event of the past. Where were all the "names"? All the big players are going to play the Colonial, why not the Byron Nelson? The information was lacking, and parking was a joke. What has happened to all the vendors that used to line the walkway and tent? It seemed like HP didn't really care about putting on a great event. I have been attending this tournament for 15 years, and this was the most boring time ever...

Although it was hot, there was plenty of refreshments to drink. There was however a shortage of food at the Pavillion. This was disappointing. Around 6-7pm. We were told at the one food vendor left open , that it was down to hotdogs only. Then later, approximately 20 minutes. People sat down at the table we were at with Cheeseburgers. I asked where did you get that and was told "right there" at the same "grill' we had been to. I wish I had been told that theshortage was temporary. I would have waited for big ol burger.

The course was simply gorgeous and I enjoyed every moment of my Saturday. The Nelson is very well organized and the volunteers are extremely helpful and pleasant. The only thing I found a bit distasteful was the attire I observed many of the women wearing. Three inch heels aren't necessary at a golf course... I wish someone would remind women you can act like a lady and dress classy and mens heads still turn. They do make for some terrific people watching though ;-)

Getting to the tournament via the shuttle bus from the lot with free parking was great. However, the course itself is not ideal for spectators. The gravel cart paths throw up a ton of dust when ever one of the many golf carts carrying workers went by. Generally, the course was inhospitable to golf fans due to the heat and lack of shade trees on the course. Also, there were very few exhibitors that you might see at some larger tournaments.

The venue was poorly laid out and not equipped to handle the amount of people in attendance on Saturday. The traffic (coming and leaving) the pavilion and other general gathering/ viewing areas were major downgrades from when the event was hosted at the Four Seasons. The good viewing areas were private and required an absurd amount of money for entrance. We were still able to get into 360 club through a friends extra ticket and I would have been extremely upset if I would have paid extra money for that experience.

A lot of people can t get over the fact that the Byron has changed courses. Indeed, Trinity Forest is NOT the Four Seasons. If you can accept that, it is still an incredible venue to see championship golf up close. The course itself is fantastic and the tournament is only going to grow and get better hosting the crowds of people, and they will have to adapt over time by adding more pavilions and shaded areas for people looking for a break from the sun. The shuttle ride location and ride over to the course is not a picturesque view of DFW, but it is what it is and should give everyone on the bus or attending a reason to be thankful for whatever stage they are at in life. Having said that, I still thoroughly enjoyed the tournament, and this new course should eventually bring top players back to the Byron and restore it as a favorite stop on tour. If you re thinking about attending and you like golf, it s a must-do. If you re attending because it s a Dallas socialite event, then you still should go. Again, NOT the Four Seasons, but everyone is still out there having a good time. GIVE IT A CHANCE PEOPLE!

Expensive drinks, incredibly inept "bartenders" taking 10 minutes to pour a drink that is on the menu, and outrageously overcrowded. I saw people reusing tickets over and over again to get all their friends in. No oversight on whether a ticket had been used or not. Lines were worse than outside the Grey Goose lounge. People who were working the event came into the lounge to watch golf. Not worth the money. Bathrooms were too few-probably because of the extra crowd. Very little room to actually watch golf. unobstructed. So many people were let into the Grey Goose lounge that didn't have legitimate tickets that I barely even got the chance to sit in a seat or view the action. If control was kept, they wouldn't be half bad on 19. On 17, view of the hole was blocked by trees. I missed golfers putting because I was in a 30-45 minute long line for a drink, and missed the final round final hole standing behind all of the people who didn't have legitimate tickets and the people working there- because they wanted to see the action. Unacceptable.

We enjoyed the opportunity is watch pros play. The Las Colinas Course was amazing. We went on Friday, so there weren't as many people as Saturday & Sunday. We didn't have to wait for anything. The only thing that we didn't realize was that they had changed tee times and we missed seeing some of the players we hoped to see. We had checked the internet site the night before and it showed Jordan Speith teeing off at 10:20. When we arrived at the course and checked the booklet, he had tee'd off at 7:20. He was already on his last hole when he should have been on his 9th hole. Parking was about 2 miles away, but it was free and the buses were plentiful and it was only a 10 minute ride to the course and they dropped you off right at the gate. This was our first PGA Tournament.

When purchasing Grey Goose Lounge tickets online, the event's website description noted that there was stadium seating (first come, first serve), a standing lounge, climate controlled tent, private restrooms, premium liquors, and concessions available for purchase, with a limited number of tickets for sale. While we certainly did not expect a seat or high top table to be available for us, we were horrified by the amount of people in the lounge. It was packed shoulder-to-shoulder, including children, when the lounge was supposed to be 21+ (according to the sign outside the lounge on-site). The line for the bar was 25 people deep at each point of sale, and the bar only sold Grey Goose product; we did not even see water for sale, though abandoned the line after ten minutes of standing in one spot. The restroom line was as long, if not longer, than the public portable toilet line. There were absolutely no concessions for sale in the lounge; there were also no snacks to assist with hungry guests since food was not being sold as promised. The tent was not enclosed, which made climate control nearly impossible. We stayed in the tent for less about half an hour total; all that time was spent in either the bar line or the restroom line. We ended up finding shorter lines and more space on the greens of 17 & 18 and spent our day there. I have requested a refund from the tournament for the additional $30 per ticket that was charged for this "premium" access, though have received no response.

I splurged for the lounge ticket over the standard grounds ticket because I thought in the event of rain or oppressive heat, my dad and I could escape in the lounge area. What neither of us realized is that it's largely used as a spot for boozing and social hangouts - not watching the tournament. When we tried to go find seats the lounges were completely packed. There were no seats available. I like the idea of being able to spend extra money to buy a guaranteed seat. We ended up sitting on the green in front of the lounge so I'm not sure that I would do that again. Next time just go for the grounds ticket - if you're actually interested in watching the tournament.

Not worth the upgrade to Grey Goose Lounge. Very small area with extremely limited sight lines. Only serve Vodka, so if you want a bee or something else, you have to go outside. I have been to much better upgraded area at other courses.
