Wicked (NY)

The theater was really nice and we picked great seats. The show was well done and we really liked how it intertwined the story into the Wizard of Oz. It had good comedy as well and very good songs. We both enjoyed it a lot.

Wicked was the perfect ending for my granddaughter's "graduation trip to NYC"! We saw four plays during our trip, and.Wicked was by far our favorite. The settings were fantastic, and the characters had powerful, spell-binding voices. The play did an excellent rendering of the book....we enjoyed every second of the show.

This was our first Broadway Play and it was unforgettably awesome!! Highly recommend and would definitely see again!

WICKED was absolutely outstanding. I could not have been more entertained. It is an absolute joy.

The Great Oz himself could not have created such a spectacular and dazzling show. Wicked tapped into the excitement and awe I felt as a young child seeing the Wizard of Oz for the first time. This is what Broadway is supposed to be, bravo!

Any fan of Oz will love Broadway's Wicked. While this story could stand alone, it really assumes the audience already is familiar with the land of Oz as well as Dorothy and her friends, and why shouldn't it? We all grew up watching and loving the Wizard of Oz and so do children today. This story gives us more reason to continue to love Oz. The beautiful and lyrical score is carried off effortlessly by the cast and its leads. The sets and costumes were perfect. I did not want the show to end and cannot wait to go back.

The staging and singing by the two main characters was spectacular, but I felt the storyline was weak and the music was forgettable. However I would recommend the show for it's spectacularness.

Wicked was spectacular, amazing and poignant, It was also very very green. The music was exhilarating and the dialogue witty. One felt empathy for Elphaba and the theme of being better for having known you warmed one's heart. I highly recommend it and would love to see it again.

I took my mother to see this play as a birthday gift because she loves plays, I'm not into them as much. Upon entering the theater, I was relieved that it was MUCH larger than the August Wilson Theatre (where we went to see Jersey Boys back in January) and that there was actually room in front for my knees! The show started a little after 8, probably because people were coming in late. As for the actual show, the character Galinda, or "Glinda" (lol) was hilarious! She played the typical blonde role, and will have you laughing throughout the show! Honestly if this humor was not in the show, I would have been bored. The singing is amazing too! I'm sure people who are really into Broadway will enjoy this show. It also tied in great as a pre-story for the movie Wizard of Oz. Go see it!

I went with my entire family to see Wicked. Each one of us absolutely loved it! The story line is so creative and entertaining, and the talent was unbelievable! Glenda, the good witch, and the "other" witch from the west were hilarious, while having spectacular singing voices too. I would highly recommend this show to everyone.

The play started off a little slow but quickly got interesting. Out of all the plays I've seen Wicked is the best by far.

My third time seeing this show and once again I was not disappointed. Nor will you be if you see this.. Whether you are an adult or a child this show is for you. It is entertaining in every way. The plot is exciting the music... riveting, the acting superb. There is no wonder it is the hottest show on Broadway. This will literally make you laugh and cry. You will enjoy the charming humor in addition to the moments of suspense. You will leave humming the catchy little tunes played throughout the show. One thing I can guarantee, you will want to see it again!

It was my third time seeing the show and it continues to blow my mind! It is without a doubt worth every penny you spend. You go in thinking you're just enjoying Broadway but it truly effects your mind and soul. Every single person is beyond talented and brings the show to another level. Don't even question whether or not you should see it! SEE IT!

Both my husband and I thought this was by far the most amazing play we have seen. If you are able to get to go to one show, this is the one to see!!!

Glinda stole the show on this one. She was funny and very expressive. The audience was rolling with laughter at her antics. Looking at the theatre, there isn't a bad seat on the main floor. There are no columns anywhere to block your view. I was at J-25, which is on the extreme left. Once they do the opening number and open up the stage I could see everything, I didn't miss any area of the stage at all.

It was entertaining and the talent was amazing! The tie ins to the Wizard of Oz were very clever. I would see it again!

I had heard that Wicked was great but I never expected to be so blown away by a performance. It is by far the best show I have ever seen! My daughter is already asking if we can go again. In a heartbeat!!!

Wicked truly delivers the one, two, punch! The three headed monster offers a dynamically written story, catchy and beautiful music, and precise and skillful acting. The show is a must see!

Great story line, great production and even had some funny moments I wasn't expecting. Must see!

I had heard mixed reviews from various friends but I wanted to see it anyway and was so glad that I did. Alli Mauzey, who played Glinda and NIcole Parker, who played Elfeba (the wicked witch) were amazing. Their voices and personalties were a perfect match for their parts. The staging was great and imaginative, as were the costumes. I had heard recently about how everyone gives a standing ovation today just because it's the thing to do, but this show deserved it. I went with two friend and my friend's 11 year old granddaughter and we all loved it and said that we could see it again.

This was the second time I had seen Wicked, but the first time in New York City. Call me crazy, but it was even better the second time. Everyone should try and see this!!

I have to say i wasn't looking forward to going to this play...i figured it's been around for a while and all i hear about are droves of tourists from the midwest fawning over this play...so as a new yorker i didn't think it would be that great...BOY WAS I WRONG! it was really fantastic--everything--the acting, sets, costumes, productions, singing. nicole parker has an amazing voice (which was a surprise since i only knew her from mad tv) and she really puts it all out for the performance. my 8 year old son is interested in theatre and has been to many performances and he sat with his mouth open the entire time--completely enthralled. overall--i would highly recommend this play.

My husband said that the first act was a "chick play" but that he liked the second much better. I thought the whole thing was quite good and built steadily to a great finish. Not the best musical I've ever seen on Broadway but definitely fun and very well done. The actress who played Elfaba was absolutely wonderful with a terrific voice!

This evening was planned for me as a birthday celebration. The show was greatly enjoyed by the whole family. The singing is magnificant!

Saw "WICKED" last night at the Gershwin. Have seen this twice prior, first time with original cast. Last night was still fabulous. Nicole Parker's Glinda was more campy than I've seen the role portrayed before, but it worked for her and got huge laughs. I have to say, I LOVE this story. I took my two nieces (ages 9 & 7) last night and we talked about the message the story sends about standing up for what is right, the difficulty in doing the right thing while being the object of gossip and outright lies....it was one of the best conversations I've ever had with my girls. The way this story unfolds, the tie-in to "The Wizard of Oz", which we all watched together the night before, was just perfect and they thoroughly understood. They left for their home in MA this morning and I could hear them singing "Defying Gravity" in the car as they pulled out of the driveway....bliss.

The wicked witch wasn't that wicked after all. Great show. Up there with the best musicals I've ever seen. Brought my 10 year old daughter...she missed some of the humor, but overall well worth it.

I've heard the songs, now I know the story. It was gravity defining journey to take with our family. Monkeys can fly and witches are beautiful.

The cast was great and music was good to the ears. First time going and would return to see it again.

This was the first broadway musical I have ever experienced and now im addicted. Our show featured Elphabas understudy but the show was still amazing. Highly recommend for anyone at any age to see this show if they re in NYC. We sat near the top and the view was still great. Entire cast and costume and set design was incredible

Wicked is 100% a must see! You'll want to get seating a few rows back from the front, or else you'll basically be sitting on stage. I'd recommend orchestra rows F and back.

I brought my 10-year-old, Wicked-obsessed daughter, my mother, and both sisters this trip. Wicked was the highlight (of course). This time I only cried a few times!

This show was everything I hoped and more. From the first moment to the last the cast and performance held my attention making me want more. I was sad when it was over to be honest. Worth the trip to New York and the ticket cost! A+++++++

What a quirky, amazing show in a lovely theatre. Two hours 45 mins long with an interval. Starts promptly at 7pm. The cast was incredible, time flew by too quickly and what a fabulous ending.

Wicked expands on the story of Oz by providing viewers with a different perspective. What is the relationship between all the witches, why are they so different? Wicked provides WoO fans with secrets that are unknown or hidden in the original Oz story. Next time you view The Wizard of Oz with friends and family, you ll want to tell them what really happened.

Superb acting and amazing vocals. Thoroughly enjoyed the story line and performances. Only shortcoming for me was, I wanted to hear more of the orchestra. The vocals totally dominated the show.

This is one of my top 5 Broadway plays. I would recommend this to anyone who is a Wizard of Oz fan. I love the twist to an old favorite movie. Be prepared for such a surprise.

2nd time for me seeing this fabulous show. This time I wanted to share it with my son who is an inspiring musician. I've always said, if you are in the musical world, you must see Wicked. It's orchestrations, melodies and harmonies are too incredible at times. The customs, scenery and acting so outstanding. All tied together with a cleverly whimsical twist of the story of Oz! Needless to say, I would go again. Bravo to the entire cast, crew and production of Wicked! Until the next time!

This was my 28th time seeing the show and it still gets me every time! It has something to please everyone! The touring version is great, but there is a lot that makes seeing it on broadway extra special!

This was an amazing play. My wife and I truly enjoyed this event and highly recommend seeing this play. The cast was entertaining, funny.

I had already seen Wicked at the West End in London earlier this year and I loved it so I wasn't sure if the Broadway could live up to my expectations. But it definitely did. It was amazing, the cast are extraordinarily talented and the play is just sensational with wit, humour, romance and a lovely tale of friendship. I would see it time and time again. The seats we chose (F1 and F3) were also amazing and I think if you are going to see such a great musical it is worth paying that little bit extra in order to see all the expressions and extra details on the scene. Staff at the venue were very friendly and organised, and although the drinks were a little on the expensive side, they were served in a Wicked plastic travel cup which can be kept as a nice souvenir so that is at least a bit better than nothing. Go and see Wicked!!!!

We saw the 2pm show on the 14th. My first ever show and a surprise to my wife I was blown away by the performance The music was magical The cast was outstanding Totally enthralled in the show Highly recommend to anyone who likes shows

The play was a story most of us had never heard. It was witty, and some moments make you want to scream at the stage. It was awesome.

This is the second time seeing Wicked...Once in Cincinnati and now in NYC...Love the Gershwin Theater and our seats were at the bottom of the balcony and were just like a box seat in Cincinnati...Wicked was just as good the second time around with a terrific cast...Love the music and the very colorful presentation...

First ever show for me and my 11 year old grand daughter. Wasn't sure at first if we should go at first or not. Certainly glad we did. Great time. Splendid actors and actresses.

It was my birthday I absolutely loved the show and so did my family.

Front row seats with my beautiful girl!! 2 for 1 during broadway month, cant beat it!! The evil witch was the original cast memeber and the prince was the dude from the boy band o-town...he was really good too! We saw one of the other cast members/dancers after the show. He spotted us actually and said "hey, u guys were in the front row!" And then he looked at my beautiful lady and thanked her for getting dressed up on a Saturday night at the theater. It was so cool( the entire experience. And the gershwin theater is absolutely beautiful.

This show was amazing I could and will watch it many times. We had great seats you won't be disappointed if you get these seats orchestra L110 & L111.

Amazing cast and performance. Loved every minute of it.

Wicked did not live up to the hype although the sets and flying monkeys were super. Score forced the female vocalists to be screechy or screaming. Reminded me of a more sophisticated Disneyworld show. If you are looking for a musical which is a little more grown up, choose another show. Most upsetting was the Gershwin theater indicating they would only leave theater doors open for 5 minutes as they ended intermission. Bathroom lines were longer than Disney's yet audience members had to rush back to their seats. Ultimately the theater doors were NOT closed within 5 minutes so very frustrating to then have to sit for another hour of the show. While I clapped loudly, not sure why audience members felt the need to give a standing ovation to a theater community who applauded our President being cursed out at the TONY awards.

It would make you laugh, cry and most of all it would stun you with the creativity. They truly defy gravity with the performance. Your ideas of what could be are about to get better. Enjoy the ride munchkin!

We capped off a great weekend in NYC with dinner at Trattoria Dell Arte and a short walk to Gershwin Theatre for an amazing performance of Wicked!

Hands down one of the best productions I ve ever seen. This was my fifth show of Wicjed spanning 14 years. I ve reviewed events in Boston and have been around the block so to say. I would absolutely recommend you see this!!

I absolutely loved seeing Wicked on Broadway! What an incredible show! So many great performances. I was so impressed with the cast after the show. My 13 year old daughter waited at the Stage Door and got her Playbill autographed and pictures with all the stars. All of the were SO nice (except Kevin Chamberlain who seemed to be bothered). Overall a memorable night on Broadway we will never forget!

Front Row seats. Felt as if we were on stage with the performers. Costumes were Brilliant. Performers were fantastic. Sets were so real was as if we were really in Oz. Singing was Pitch perfect. Performers interacted with the audience. Would see this 100 times if I lived in NY. This is a MUST SEE!

We sat Mezz row A 112/113. Fantastic seats. Well worth it. The show was very entertaining and kept me engaged. Would definitely recommend it!

My family and I went for Kids Night on Broadway. We knew from reviews that it would be an excellent show so when we saw that it was one of the shows available with knob we without hesitation bought the tickets. Our girls know all the songs and sing them all the time. From the story line to the sets everything was amazing. The actors all did exceptionally well. We all loved Ms. Torres portrayal of Elphaba was exceptional. At the end of the show she shared her experience of when the first time she saw the show as an adolescent her friend told her that one day she would be the one up on stage performing and she didnt believe it but there she was. Her experience was inspiring to all in attendance.

The sets were amazing, the vocals were moving, and the play was extremely fun and enjoyable. The cast and crew did an excellent job. They have lots of experience and it clearly shows. Possibly our favorite show yet (not 'regulars' by any stretch)!

An amazing show that ticks all the boxes. You will not be disappointed. I've seen it numerous times in London and now on Broadway. The Gershwin Theatre is a great venue and set out really well. We sat in Row L in the stalls and had a super view.

We were sitting in Atlanta airport and my mom asked me if I wanted to see Wicked... and I said sure. I start looking into who is into the cast and saw ASHLEY PARKER ANGEL was in it. I ve been a fan of his for about 18 years. He didn t come out, which made me a bit sad. But great show. Wish I didn t leave an hour before the end of the show so I could run to the stage door the night before my big surgery.

An incredible experience, this musical was amazing! The music, the sets, the acting, the singing - it was all exceptional!! I highly recommend it and will see it again ... you will not be disappointed!! Bravo bravo bravo!!

This show is amazing!! There is no dull moments. I loved the sense of humor they put in the show and the cast were just so great!

I may be confused .... but I seem to recall a 'soft-shoe' shuffle [or tap?] routine that the Wizard did during the 'Wonderful' number ... however, I saw the original in 2004 with Edina [Elphaba] .. and may be mistaken .... "Wonderful" seems to cry out for this little 'bon-bon' ......? BUT this is Broadway at its VERY BEST ... slick, smooth, highly, highly professional and NOT a false note amongst this superbly integrated ensemble. There are so many, many 'show-stopping' moments - perhaps to many to individualize ... but for the neophyte, THIS IS IT KID! The Book is Glorious, Costumes/Sets are spectacular ... nit pick? Elphabas original broom [2004] was 'period' .. .the current one is vaguely modern [flat variety, vs. 'rush bunch'] .... [I 'live' in an old converted Broom Factory Loft .... so there are many preserved examples ... I 'believe' that the Margaret Hamilton brooms originated from this old Factory] ... BUT, I digress ... "WICKED" ??? It's also a Musical with Muscle .... the 'glitzy' tale with very serious undertones .. if we pay attention. The line starts to the Left .... GET TO THE FABULOUS GERSHWIN ... the Foyer Staff will welcome you with open arms. Not a dour face amongst them! BRAVA to our JACKIE BURNS and AMANDA JANE COOPER ... MAY their respective careers Prosper and Flourish! ... and Thank You 'Team Gershwin' for making my 'out of town' relatives very, very Happy!

This was my 4th time seeing wicked in New York City and it was as good as the 1st. Took my son for his 1st time and he loved it as well. I have seen other Broadway shows and enjoyed them but there is something special about wicked

Was great, even if you are not a fan of musicals. Did not realize how funny Glinda's character was.

Took my nieces to see this play as part of their first trip to NYC. Talk about an amazing cast and crew. The performance was excellent and we would all go to see it for a second time in a heartbeat.

I've waited years to see this. I read the book before it was a musical. It definitely exceeded my expectations. My only regret is that I wasn't able to see it with the original cast.

Amazing show, amazing cast, my first time seeing it.

My boyfriend and I went to NY for the weekend for my birthday, and was able to scrounge up enough for Wicked; and we can both easily agree out of everything we did(it was our first time to ny) that was the absolute highlight of our trip. Absolutely amazing show, really funny, great songs, and AMAZING actors-ress. And the Gershwin theatre was very nice and clean. $100+ a pop for tickets plus $7 drinks(but you get a decent cup to keep with the logo on it), but trust me when I say, it was worth every penny. Was ABSOLUTLEY the highlight of our entire weekend.

Initially, it was more for my girlfriend than anything. Maybe it's me being a guy, but I was a little skeptical of broadway.Numerous friends and clients urged me to go and said it was remarkable, and they were right. We had a blast and the bartender made us these drinks with Rasberry Vodka, club soda and a splash of cranberry and they were an amazing addition to a great show! He didn't have a name for it, so we called it "Pink is the New Green". Make sure you get one of these! They come in souvenir cups as well! Enjoy!
