Friday was energetic jazz, Saturday was extra jazzy and Sunday just plain old awesome. Brian Culbertson with his high spirit stage presence coupled with the sensational jazz was fantastic. Will Downing was as smooth and sexy as ever. Peabody Bryson just took control and took my breath away\u203c️

With the passing of George Duke there were a couple of changes but none to change how exciting the show was. I want to Thank the Jazz Diva for another great production with the Lowcountry Jazz Festival! Jazz In Pink,Gerald Albright, Mindy Abair,Dave Koz, Richard Elliott, Jonathan Butler, Brian Lenair, and the list goes on. If you have never attended the Lowcountry Jazz Fest you have been missing a great weekend of music and culture in Charleston SC~

The Lowcountry Jazz Festival has grown to be a great excuse to visit a nice destination, Charleston, SC. This year's event provided a nice mix of local and internationally renown talent and styles. The highlights for me were the Dave Koz-led 'Summer Horns' on Friday night with Richard Elliott, Mindy Abair, and Gerald Albright, and Sunday's closing set with the classic, and earthy, Joe Sample and Randy Crawford. I look forward to coming back next year!

I was finally able to attend the Lowcountry Jazz Festival and it will not be my last time in attendance! I attended the first night (Dave Koz and the Summer Horns) and from the moment we started until over 4 hours later it was a fantastic show. Every group that performed before them was great. Those women of Jazz in Pink were in fire! The Summer Horns were phenomenal! Not only were they in sync on everything and that was AMAZING but they were also entertaining. I cannot wait until next year and will hopefully be able to afford to do all 3 nights! CON: I went out to buy cds towards the end of the Summer Horns and they were not selling them even though the people were still there. If someone is willing to sacrifice a few minutes of the show to buy tickets I think they should sell them to you.

This was my husband and my attendance of this festival and also the first visit to Charleston. The venu was great and the sound system was wonderful too. Each night was a treat even though I had seen 90% of the artist previously. I especially enjoyed Randy Crawford and Joe Sample and that's because I had not seen them before. Oh, forgot I had not seen Evrett Harp before and he was excellent! We drove from VA (5 hrs) and well worth the drive, I hope to return next year!

Every group was phenomenal! The local group, Da'rrell Ravenell & Friends kept the crowd going from the onset to their finale. Jazz in Pink offered sweet, funk & nasty from a group of beautiful & talented women. The saxophone quartet led by Dave Coz was the third layer on a decadent cake with the most thrilling icing. I couldn't have had a better treat for my birthday weekend!

The lineup this year was awesome! My all time favorite artist is Mr. Boney James and he was SO AWESOME. All the acts were totally great, some I have heard their music and now that I have seen them in concert, I am now a new fan of theirs. I could not have asked for a better line up and the entire weekend has left me on CLOUD 9. I had so much fun and the icing on the cake was that I was able to have a Photo Op with everyone. The festival was a good time. The artist lineup could not have been better. This is definitely a girls trip every year. Pros: Started on time. Indoor venue Enough volunteers to make exiting and entering seamless. Atmosphere couldn't have been better Autograph session!! Cons: Presentations in between acts seemed to be a bit unorganized The venue seating was awful! The rows are from one side to the other with no center aisle. So if you have a middle seat, there is no shortcut to your seat; this caused much interruption during the show as EVERYONE in the row had to get up when those people moved. View is not to hot if you happen to be seating behind a taller guest. Finding a similar venue would be nice..

The Friday night event featuring Dave Koz, David Sanborn and Brian Culbertson was amazing! There was a lot of high energy generated on both the artist and audience levels. We chose to not attend on Saturday, as the only artist that met the definition of a Smooth Jazz artists was Nick Colionne, whom we saw last year at the same festival. Peabo Bryson is an amazing artist, but he is not a jazz performer, so we left before his performance. Chuck Loeb, Everett Harp and Jeff Lorber were fabulous, although we wish the set could have been longer. We would prefer that if the Lowcountry JAZZ Festival is to continue, that the performers actually be jazz artists - preferably Smooth Jazz. We wish Dave, Koz and David Sanborn would have been available in the lobby to sign CDs, but we understand they had a plane to catch for their final tour concert.

The Low Country Jazz Festival with Avery Sunshine, Will Downing and Nick Colionne was incredible. The venue is amazing - not a bad seat in the house. The acoustics are incredible and the performers were top-notch. Will Downing got top billing but for me and my husband, Avery Sunshine was the headliner. She really puts on a great show - a true entertainer. I had never heard of Nick Colionne and we are jazz fans. I wasn't expecting much with him but he blew me away. He and his band are awesome. This was our first visit to the Low Country Jazz Festival And it was worth the drive down from NC it took us about four and half hours to get here. We arrived at the coliseum and there was not really a wait at all, which we thought was great. Then concert was awesome we truly enjoyed ourselves, Dave Koz and David Sanborn started out the concert. The two of them together on the same stage was well worth it. There were a couple of technical difficulties during the show, but it was resolved in a timely manner. But Brian Culbertson came out afterwards and stole the show, just know that he "Shut It Down"!

The 2015 version of this festival was a GREAT, 3 day, high energy smooth jazz event and that is what motivated us to return in 2016. This year there were some great jazz performances (Brian Culbertson, Dave Koz, David Sanborn, and Jazz Funk Soul) but there were a number of R&B artist that didn't fit the "jazz festival" model. The festival is for a worthy cause but 2017 attendance will depend on the artist performing.

The artist was absolutely good but was victim to bad sound system operators. The artist was very entertaining and talented. This issue was the sound system and the artist constantly telling the operators to turn on certain microphones. It was so distracting and Jonathan Butler just threw his hands up out of frustration. The artist played to the crowd in the dark as they were moving around the stage and audience with no spot light which was baffle. One artist (Euge Groove) got a spot light briefly but it was pretty bad and a huge liability if the artist were to injure themselves. I have been attending five straight years and this will be our groups last year. It seems like they are cutting corners and the price is steadily increasing. The popcorn station and vending was a attribute to the concert ..

Jonathan Butler--Where have you been all of our lives? He is a perfectionist and the music he and his band reveals is like no other. YOU have to be present to see what I mean. He is from Africa and he sung a couple of songs in his native language. We didn't know what he was saying but the music was PHENOMENAL!! Marcus Anderson and his twin brother should collaborate in order to make a CD together. Marcus can play the saxophone with a true groove and his brother has a voice of an ANGEL! The horns topped it off. I do love the drums, they really put it down on Saturday! Euge Groove was a hit also banging saxophone with the led guitar and BASS guitarist was EXPLOSIVE! Jose Valentino Ruiz--I am SPEECHLESS!! This man is talented, he can play four different instruments and sing! His band and lead singer topped off the performance by taking us to Church and they did just that. I am glad that most of the band included God in there performances. Next year, I am going to invite others from out of town to check out this AWESOME festival! Keep up the good work and it's for a good cause as well. Thanks to Dr. Bell and the sponsors like MUSC gave a great tribute to his daughter who recently passed from cancer. WE LOVED EVERY MOMENT OF THIS EXPERIENCE!

Although I have heard good things about the Lowcountry Jazz Festival I actually had the opportunity to see for myself. As a first-timer, I truly enjoyed the event and the comfortable venue. Our seats were in the Orchestra section and were excellent, however it appears that the vast majority of seats were good seats. I really enjoyed Pieces of A Dream, Gerald Albright, Euge Groove, BK Jackson and the special guest trumbone player. The performances that interacted and mingled with the crowd was really enaging and being able to get photos and autographs afterwards was excellent. I would encourage having some t-shirt or other sovenir sales as well as an "After Party". Overall it was an Awesome Event!

This was my first time attending the Low Country Jazz Festival (as well as the Low Country Jazz Festival with Alex Bugnon) and they both exceeded my expectations! I only attended the Sunday evening Jazz festival, but in the future I plan to attend all 4 days!! I also hope that they continue to do the Jazz Cruise!!

This was my first year at the Low Country Jazz Festival and I was so impressed with everything. I was about to give up on going to an event that adult people attended. No one on stage were grabbing their crotches and cursing as is so common now. People in the audience was adult and polite. I had to pinch myself a few times. There is a place for the grown and sexy. All the acts were incredible and the atmosphere was so cool. Cool in a Jazzy kind of way. The fact the festival is supporting a great cause makes the experience and money spent well worth it.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The artists were amazing. We were there for every act and enjoyed each one. The band that played each night in the lobby were very good and put us in the mood for the show. We are planning to attend next year.

From jump street until the last note from Jazz Attack - the event was great! High-lites - enjoyed Buff Dillard and his soulful trombone and as expected Pieces of a Dream is an Old School group who know showmanship - they are a crowd pleaser. All in all Peter White and Rick Braun, the soulful blue eye soul brothers, are commended for an outstanding show

I primarily went to this event to hook up with friends (I'm an out of towner) and see Boney James on Sunday night, though I had tickets for Friday - Sunday, I had NO idea what a great cause it was for. Let me tell you, every night that I went was simply amazing. Not one of the artists disappointed and everybody brought their A Game. Since our smooth jazz radio station has disappeared it was wonderful to hear so many songs I hadn't heard in awhile and some new ones too. My only downside was that the crowd wasn't very lively. I'm used to everybody getting up and dancing and having a wonderful time, but most everybody was a bit on the sedate side. Thanks Low Country Jazz Festival - See you next year!!!!

The show was great. The first act, Dwayne Johnson, was excellent. Great showmanship. Norman Brown was his usual best. Maysa, however, has an excellent voice and is a great talent. But for this show, she brought it down a bit. She slowed the rhythm. If she had sing half the time it would have been great.

Overall the concert was awesome. Boney was absolutely amazing and Brian Culbertson was electrifying. Nick Colionne's deep voice was sultry and incredible. I hadn't seen Pieces of a Dream in years - good to see that they are still on top of their game. Najee was great as usual! Opening acts were locals musicians who set the stage for the great music to follow. In between sets was a fantastic house band playing in the lobby. That helped a lot considering it took forever and a day to set up between each act - very disappointing. It would be helpful if something can be done to cut down some of the set up time.

We attended the Low Country festival Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Charleston SC. The lineup was absolutely incredible all 3 nights. Everything was very well organized and executed on time. All the artists performances were top notch. The venue was very nice with good seats and great acoustics. Parking was close to the facilty most nights and when further away there were shuttles to the center. The organizers of the event did a great job! Can't say enough about the artists, loved all of them. Will definitely do this again and recommend it to friends. Not to mention the event supports a good cause!!

I have been going to this Jazz Festival the past 5 years and each year it seems to get better. This year was just awesome. This has to be the best Jazz Festival I've ever attended. Each night was awesome and I am so looking forward to next year. They had an all star lineup. Even the opening groups were awesome. They had a local group playing each night during set changes and they were off the chain. I am so looking forward to next year. I want to see how they top this year's Festival. This is my Labor Day weekend tradition. You must check it out, you will not be disappointed.

From the beginning to the end the performers came with their A games; but the high-lite of the evening was Brain Culbertson - He showed up and showed out! Great evening of jazz!.
