Listening To Reakwon and GhostFace preform the Built for Cuban Linx which is Commonly referred to as the "Purple Tape" was Nostalgic. The Norva was packed and the Energy was great. The crowd was reciting the lyrics bar for bar with the artist. It was a trip down memory lane.

Now this is what I'm talking about!!!..Miami finally got it right tonight in terms of that real, gritty hip hop that the streets need to hear right now!! Ghostface set it off w the classic speech near the end of their set\u2026"now they make good records, back then, WE MADE CLASSICS!!!" This is hands down one of the best concerts I've ever been to! Raekwon, Ghostface, Cappadonna, Noreaga (showed up and performed part of the street banger "Superthug", Mobb Deep (Havoc and Prodigy), The Alchemist, and their west coast homie 40 Glock all came through and reminded us just how great rap can be if it's done Triple R-style...RIGHT, RAW, and REAL!!

If you were looking for classic Wu-Tang at its finest this was the show to be at. Arguably the most consistent members of the Wu-Tang Clan teaming up for the greatest album of Raekwon's career and the beginning of a great partnership and brotherhood that stands the test of time. Both of these artists are still putting out relevant music that fans will enjoy. The Fly International Luxurious Art is a solid album with many cameos by newer artist but Ghost doesn't disappoint. Ghostface Killah also has new music with two albums that come out within two weeks of each other with 36 Seasons and Sour Soul. Get both if you are a Wu head like me. Support the music we became adults to!!!

This was by far my worst experience going to TLA. I didn't get a chance to see RAEKWON or GHOSTFACE at all!!! By 1015pm, I was disgusted and left. there were two opening acts!! I didn't pay my money to see unknowns, I wanted to see two members of the WU!!! I'll just continue to be a fan and listen to their music on my cds and the radio. I will never see any of them live again!!! And all the smoking of the cigarettes, weed and blunts really made my experience and TLA that much more horrible.

Waited 3 hrs for any signs of Maino and by the time that happened Raekwon was only in a position to perform less than 4 songs whole, due to time constraints. This sucked to wait forever and have to survive 50 million opening acts who were generic at very best.

I was very disappointed with the sound system at the Fillmore. The artists all sounded like they were screaming. Ghostface and Raekwon have distinct voices and you weren't able to really here that because the sound was so off. Bought tickets to Blackstar at same venue and I'm crossing my fingers that this problem can be fixed.

Was a good show but could have been more packed. The venue is great and small enough to be more of a personal show unlike the stadiums where you're a far far away from the show.

Raekwon and Cappadonna held it down for Ghost who apparently had to go hone due to an emergency with one of his children. Had Cappadonna not been there the show would have been a major bomb.

Had a great time although I was really disappointed that Ghostface wasn't there. He was the main reason I went; it would have been the first time seeing Rae and Ghost together. Evening wasn't a total fail though, Rae put on a great show. Suprisingly Cappadonna did his thing in filling in for Ghost. Mobb Deep was ok.

The event itself was a great setup. The prices were not ridiculous and there were always good views of the stage. I really enjoyed Ghostface, Raekwon and Cappadonna. I think they were great with the fans and put on a fun and lively show. The Mobb Deep show was a little underwhelming; I left early. It seemed like they were promoting their posse a little more than the actual 2 members of MD. Overall, very good show and great venue.

Show performance was amazing, both acts performed ALL the classics and then some!!! One MAJOR problem, the sound was VERY BAD. I've been to many shows at HOB, and never had a complaint. The problem must be with the sound engineer that day. Good thing about hip hop...it sounds good even distorted.

Hundreds of Wu-Tang Clan fans descended on The Opera House in Toronto s east end this past Friday. Although on this night only one member of the clan was scheduled to perform, loyal Wu followers would not be disappointed as Raekwon, one of The Clan s more popular members, delivered a classic Wu-worthy performance. At 12:15am he hit the stage garnering thundering applause from the entire venue, accentuated when the crowd noticed Rae s attire. Rae came to T.O. aiming to please, rocking a fitted Blue Jays cap and Vintage Toronto Maple Leaf s Jacket. He began the show performing his verse to C.R.E.A.M. with the rugged style he s been famous for since he burst onto the Hip-Hop scene in 1993. This was one of the few times he stopped short of preforming an entire Wu-Tang song by himself, usually without missing a beat. He even took time to do a tribute to the late Old Dirty Bastard as he rapped Shimmy Shimmy Ya with a little help from the over 700 fans who s actions throughout the night could best be described as wilding out . The entire set was comprised of classic material with songs such as Ice Cream , Killa Bees & Criminology much to the delight of the crowd that showed utter appreciation for Rae s dedication. He did manage to squeeze in his new single Rock \u2018N Roll from the Shaolin Vs. Wu-Tang album that was released last month. Exactly one hour after his set began Raekwon ended the night with an exceptional performance of one of his biggest hits Incarcerated Scarfaces . The only real criticism was that the one hour set was a little bit short for a rapper who has released five solo albums on top of the five albums he did as a member of The Clan. It was obvious that many fans, myself included were disappointed that there wasn t an encore, but even still it would have been difficult to leave The Opera House upset after watching such a superb performance from one of Hip-Hop s pioneers.

Overall, it was an okay experience. however We would of loved to see Raekwon the headliner t some point in the night. It seemed they over booked the opening acts. We got tired of waiting around for Raekwon to show up. He was the whole reason we wanted to got the show. So after the 9th opener we decided to leave early. Besides the belligerent clumsy people made it harder to wait. We like the venue, it had a very nice stage and layout. It just took forever to see the "The Chef" come out and rock his set.

One of the best shows I've been to by far. Some of the artists came out and mingled with the crowd, which wasn't that many people, but I didn't mind due to the fact that it was all peace, and we were able to interact with the emcees. Keith Murray was found rocking in the middle of the crowd. MC Eight was chilling by the stage and was showing love. The kids that came out and started breaking was the best part of the night. With I could have seen Shurik'n, UMC's and of course Raekwon but shorty I was with got a little too tipsy and we had to bounce. But overall, much love to D-Stroy and all the graf artists, the deejays and all the international emcees that represented and did their thing. Beautiful night for hiphop. Can't wait for the next one.

Keep in mind, this was on a Sunday night and I work. The event said it started at 7 PM. I left at midnight and did not get to see one of the 3-guests I actually came to see (Raekwon, Ultramagnetic MC's or Bushwick Bill). It is dissapointing on a Sunday night to have an event that supposedly starts at 7 yet after 5 hours doesn't get to ANY of the top acts. It would probably be different if this was Friday or Saturday, but this is just bad planning on the promoters part. The only highlight was the hype man who had some decent lines.

If you're a fan of Wu-Tang or New York style MCing, then you'll enjoy Raekwon the Chef shows. I've been to four of his solo and 10 Wu-Tang Clan concerts. Raekwon puts a lot of energy into his show and takes pride in making sure the crowd gets their moneys worth.

Rae definitely brought what Boston was looking for. A few new tracks and then a lot of tributes to Prodigy from Mobb Deep. Lots of great material from Only Built 4 as well as some classic 36 Chambers bangers. A lot of peace, love and appreciation for real hip-hop. Then he came through the audience after and worked his own merch table for an hour or so. Super cool, humble move in my opinion.

I was wary, with their heavily scheduled tour dates (VA on Thurs, Raleigh Friday, Charlotte Sat., etc) that these 40+ year old rappers would be half steppin' through their show. Thankfully, they are drinking from the fountain of Eternal Hip Hop and brought it Friday night. Evidently, there was an issue with a transformer/power surge but luckily this happened prior to my arrival and there were no issues/delays that I had to endure. The crowd was hyped, thanks to a short set by the DJ and The Ritz exploded when The Chef & Ghostdini hit the stage. You could feel the love of all things Wu in the air and the performers commented about that factor a couple times. They did large snippets of the entire purple tape (Only Built 4 Cuban Linx) as well as some Wu bangers (C.R.E.A.M., Protect Ya Neck, Triumph) and a few of their individual hits from their solo albums. Overall, I was extremely happy with the chance to sing along, line for line, sway and get totally lost in the music. Mostly everyone around me seemed to enjoy exacty the same. Just like that...it was 1995 all over again!

DJ Bee was superb holding down the stage until Rae and Ghost got on. The opening act was just wrong place wrong time; by the time he got on it had been a while and people were ready for Cuban Linx ! He was booed and people started chanting "Wu-Tang, Wu-Tang". Poor guy. Once Raekwon and Ghostface arrived, it was everything I imagined- the whole Cuban Linx album, a couple Wu Tang classics, and solo stuff from Ghost. Loved the in between where Rae would drop jewels or express gratitude. Crowd knew all the lyrics, and Rae & Ghost loved it. It was a great experience.

I was so excited about the 20th anniversary of the Purple Tape, that we drove from NY to Boston to see the show. The energy of the crowd was awesome. However, Rae & Ghost had no set list of songs to perform so it seemed unorganized at times. Toward the end, it seemed as though they were just trying to fill out the time allotted at the venue. There was also no merchandise that mentioned the fact that it was the 20th Anniversary! Last but not least the opening act performed 9 songs!!! Regardless, I would do it all over again, bc that album was part of my youth. The memories alone of watching them perform those songs took me back to a different time in Hip Hop
