The only way to go to the Hollywood Bowl is to do the park and ride at one of the many park and rides around Hollywood and LA, which are displayed on the computer when buying tickets, which is what we did before going to California. We bought the cheap seats in the very back. The sound is great everywhere! The music was great and fun with different artists singing and playing their specific instruments, mainly guitar. I'm 72, my daughter is 47, my sister is 76 and my cousin is 50 something and we all loved it. There are also large visual screens so the stage can be seen from everywhere. Bring your own wine and picnic to have during the concert or before. We were there this last July 2010. Even though the days are wonderful and warm, the nights are quite cool. Bring jackets or sweaters and even a throw over the legs for temps in the 50's for sure.

First of all, I think it's convenient to take the shuttle to the Hollywood Bowl. It's efficient and stress free than driving. I have no issues with the shuttle, but only with one incident that involved a few individuals. My complaint is on June 22, 2013 on Opening Night when my sister and I walked into the shuttle to go home. There were two empty seats remaining, but someone actually left a back-pack on the seat, so we sat separately thinking it was occupied. What upsets me is I had to ask this angry looking young woman if it's okay if I sit next to her and she bitterly responded "ONLY if I sit by the window". Okay, I let it go because the concert was awesome and nothing was going to ruin my mood, so I sat by the window, but get this, her mom behind kept kicking my chair whether to intimidate me or by accident. I think it was the first. I felt very uncomfortable but I did not make any waves. Finally, I turned around and she stopped. One word people, RESPECT. Once we were on the freeway. I noticed that two seats we had to skip a few rows ahead were not reserved in spite of the backpack left on the seat. It turned out this lady in front of the seats left her back-pack there instead of carrying it with her. You are not supposed to do that! Seats are for passengers NOT for back-packs. I had to endure a 30 minute drive with this bitter young woman and a menacing relative behind me. This should not be. Passengers pay for seats and I was a passenger. Keep your belongings with you and next time don't leave it on an empty seat to keep passengers from sitting there because next time I will point it out to the driver. And, one more thing, you don't own the seats, so next time someone needs to sit next to you, oblige and be friendly or else drive alone.

Don't drive when you can take a special bus to the Hollywood Bowl. It was very convenient to take the bus rather than to drive since parking is very limited at the Hollywood Bowl. Drivers are great and all very organized! Highly recommend Park & Ride at the Hollywood Bowl.
