this was the most incredible concert I've attended in years....everything about this venue, the musicians, the hosts was amazing. Thank you! HOWEVER, we did pay $520 a piece for these tickets and we should have been offered VIP access....

If Saturday's show didn't have Billy Idol or Pearl Jam it would have been a complete waste of time! Grizzly Bear sounded like N'Sync, Modest Mouse was actually good for the second band of the night; Lucinda Williams??? blah Kris Kristofferson...thanks for appearing, but 30% of the audience can probably sing better than him. One of my favorite performers, Elvis Costello sucked!!! It pains me to say that! He made the mistake of bringing Emmylou Harris on stage with him. They sang about 5 obscure songs with her singing over him on each one! "Disappointed!!!" Billy Idol ROCKED!!!! I can't believe I said that! He brought some much needed energy to a pretty boring event. Pearl Jam is just a great band!! I never used to like Pearl Jam. That sentiment changed when I saw them in 1999 at the Bridge School concert. The fact that Eddie Vedder took the time to get to know all the kids names, got to know their parents, etc. I looked at the band in a whole new light! At Bridge School 2010, they killed!!!! Except for a bad arrangement of "Better Man." Honestly, don't know what they were thinking with that poppy arrangement. The rain came, it was 11pm I had to be in work at 5am, so I didn't see Buffalo Springfield. I heard they were great. Neil Young is a great performer and overall great guy for having this benefit. Some Bridge School concerts have been really great, this (Saturday show) was not!

Some times the first few acts at the Bridge School Benefit Concert surprise you. A couple of years ago there was the unforgettable opening set by Regina Spektor. A year or two before that Los Lobos rocked the house with their charged opener. But this year's first few acts, especially Grizzly Bear and Modest Mouse, were completely forgettable. Which was too bad since it was an almost packed house by the time the show started. A few later performers were equally uninspired. Lucinda Williams garbeled her lyrics so badly that we were left to guess what she was singing about. And Elvis Costello's song choices were downright bizarre. Where was "Alison" and "Watching the Detectives", for example? Fortunately, Billy Idol, Pearl Jam, and Buffalo Springfield saved the night. Even in the incessant drizzle Billy Idol was able to pump up the crowd. It didn't hurt that the Giants won the pennant during one of his songs. Pearl Jam's set reminded me that Eddie Vedder would sound great singing the phonebook. But the real surprise, the transcendent performers of the evening, were easily the old farts in Buffalo Springfield. Stephen Stills looked like an investment banker in his sport coat and tie as he belted out the lyrics to "For What It's Worth." Richie Furray was a revelation singing lead on half their songs. And we got a large dose of Neil Young both singing and rocking on his old guitar. So in spite of the sluggish, forgettable opening and the annoying showers, it was another memorable Bridge School Concert. Thanks Peggy and Neil.

First, the show Should have started earlier in the day. There were so many bands, it would have been nice to see them perform for more than 30 minutes without it putting the concert behind schedule. The venue is horribly inconvenient to get to by any means other than driving. This should have been more clearly explained on the website. As someone from out of town (and not used to driving) it was a big pain. The will call was ridiculous. For some reason the staff only wanted 10 or so people in line at each will call booth, the result was a really bad experieince, of standing around waiting for your chance to get in line. Stupid. The beers were $12. Enough said.

The Bridge was great. Started off slow, but bring on Billy Idol and a Giants win at the same time and the night started to rock. Pearl Jam was lights out and the night ended without too much rain. Glad I went on Sat. and night Sunday with all that rain.

Once again, simply amazing. I am not a regular concert goer and so I tend to be selective about what I see. I saw The Bridge School Concert last year and intend to see it again next year. Merle Haggard did not make it so that was a disappointment, and Kris Kristopherson's solo performance was a bit weak. Adding Emmy Lou Harris as a surprise performing was a nice touch. Billy Idol was mid-way though belting out the Generation X song "Ready, Steady, Go" when most of the fans jumped to their feet screaming "YEAH!!!!! and YES!!!! and OH, MY GOD". Idol had no idea that many of the audience was also listening to the SF Giants game against the Phillies and they'd just won; Idol thought the audience was into him. Well, yes and the lyrics was appropriate to the moment. I won't forget that one!

We moved to Nor Cal in July of 2005 and my brother invited us to our first Bridge Benefit Concert - in October 2005. Since then we have made it a family date every year - and have enjoyed it so much - we take our 5 kids now ages 15-24 and they love it! We have the best time hanging out on the lawn - we just totally mellow out - it's like a little love fest - we all hug a lot and dance together and hang out on the blankies - looking at the beautiful Bridge School children who so enjoy the show - it is a day that just makes you so grateful! Our family always leaves there in such a great space - we talk about it all year - this year we are letting each one of our kids bring a friend - I love that they sell the 4 pack! It makes for a great value of priceless family bonding! Neil Young and his wife are amazing - they have endured so much and really know how to share the love! It is the most fantastic event Live Nation puts on all year! Keep up the great work Neil & Pegi!

The concert rocked! It lasted 8 hours + The seats were perfect! The whole line up was amazing! My husband works so hard all year and its hard to get him to relax and go anywhere on vacation, but this Bridge School Benefit Concert was just the right thing for him to enjoy. He listens to Neil Young in the car, home so this was just what he needed. He really really, loved No Doubt and Monsters of Folk, WolfMother too. The people seated around us were the best too, they were friendly and very cool people.

This was the 13th consecutive year that I've attended the Bridge School concert, and like many regular attendees, I was a little concerned about the quality of the lineup this year. However, after over 7 hours of solid, entertaining, and varied music, I have to say that this was a very enjoyable event. Although there were fewer big names (e.g., Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters), it was a nice change of pace to get acquainted with newer groups. I was particularly impressed with Wolfmother's set ... a great job of rocking hard with acoustic instruments. So, on balance, this was a great concert and well worth the time and money to attend. I'm already looking forward to my 14th Bridge School Benefit next year.

When I saw the line up, I wasn't sure if I was going to go but my friends were going and it is for a good cause. It was hard to top since last year was so amazing. We got a parking place and spot on the lawn pretty quickly. The weather was warm and there were a lot of empty spots on the lawn. The music was good. I enjoyed Spoon and Ben Harper. I saw Ben and Gary Clark Jr at Outside Lands. When Lucas Nelson sang he sounded just like his dad.

We go to BSBC every year, and every year there is a highlight moment. In 2015 it was Cheryl Crow calling the Dixie Chicks to the stage to sing with her. Perfect blend of voices -- and to top it off Gary Clarke, Jr. played a beautiful guitar accompaniment. I always wish Neil Young would again join a performer or two on stage. That didn't happen this year, but you can't have everything, I guess. On the other hand, the food at Shoreline was even worse than usual. It is difficult to figure why the food (menus, price, service) are so awful year after year. This is Northern California where people are used to finding tasty food, and we will pay up for it if necessary. Hey, we are already paying up for the hot dogs and pretzels at Shoreline, so why not offer something better? (The exception was wines-by-the-bottle. Decent selections at prices not way above restaurant wine lists. Nice sealable plastic carafes, too.)

Great event, attended both days. It wasn't sold out so lines were not bad for vendors and restrooms, etc. Ben Harper, The Dixie Chicks, Sheryl Crow, Ryan Adams amazed and thrilled. Spoon, was alright, Underwhelmed by St Vincent, but no one else seemd to be. And of course, Neil and Promise of the Real. these guys seem have to re-energized Mr Young. Awesome concert!

This was the first Bridge School Benefit I'd been to in 15 years, and it like all of the others I'd attended in the past (we now live in Los Angeles and flew up for the show). Some performances were very good (Sheryl Crow, Ryan Adams), some were good (Spoon, Ben Harper, Neil Young, Gary Clark Jr.), only one was painfully bad (St. Vincent) and one was truly exceptional (Dixie Chicks, sounding as good as they did in their prime). It's a great cause, a long day, and well worth the experience if you like music. But what completely surprised me after all these years was how extraordinarily worn and tired the Shoreline Amphitheater is now. I'm guessing that the owner has spent approximately zero dollars in tenant improvements since 2000. Everything looks like it's just been left outside for decades. In fact, the seats are so worn that they have black duct tape holding the edges together in places, and some of that duct tape came off and attached itself to my coat (which now must go to the dry cleaner to get the glue residue off). I guess the plan is to let the Shoreline survive until they bulldoze it down and build more tech offices. Sad.

We absolutely support the cause & admire those involved in making a difference in children's lives. That was the highlight, as the concert exceeded 7 hrs before Neil Young took the stage. Too many acts & way too long a concert. Won't attend again unless concert hours are shortened.

Good show. Seeing how Ben Harper has evolved over 20 years was a real treat. Ohio was powerful, took me back to the day. Realized afterwards that Ben wasn't even born then, but the song took him there. Downside - Show is much too long. It ended almost an hour and half later than expected. Would be nice if Neil sang some different songs.

Won tickets to this show from 107.7 The Bone. I was most interested in seeing Pearl Jam, as I would have caught their 2013 Oracle Arena concert, except that the ticket prices were insane and it was virtually sold out in a day. I was also looking forward to Neil Young, as I had heard he was an excellent performer. First up was Pegi Young & The Survivors. They played 5 songs. Reminded me of Janis Joplin a bit, though I'm not sure why. Surprised Neil let her play, as I had literally, just the day before, read they were getting a divorce. Next was a group called Band Of Horses. They sounded like a Country-fied version of Counting Crows. They played 5 songs, including a JJ Cale cover, which was especially for Neil Young, who is apparently a big JJ Cale fan. These guys had good energy. I think they've got potential. After that, Puss N Boots, a supergroup, featuring Norah Jones and two other girls took the stage. They were good, the audience loved them - they did 3 encores! I must say though, their thinly veiled, innuendo-filled songs were so terribly inappropriate for the event that it was hilarious, at least to me. Soundgarden followed Norah and company. Their performance was interesting, as they were the first group to use an acoustic/electric guitar that was actually plugged in. They played 5 songs, throwing in a couple b-sides along with the 3 hits they played. I think Chris Cornell had allergies - he sounded kind of odd when he spoke between songs. Next was Tom Jones. I honestly can't think of a way to describe just how awesome he was. All I can say is, if you ever get a chance to see him, do, whether you're familiar with his music or not. Brian Wilson, well, he was strange. He sang fine and everyone in his band, including the other Beach Boy, who was a special guest, sounded fine. It was the way he was moving, almost would make me think he had been replaced by a not-too-advanced robot clone. Florence + The Machine were up after Brian. Thankfully, they gave a good performance. Their singer, Florence Welch, is extremely attractive and sounds sort of like Grace Slick, the frontwoman of Jefferson Airplane/Starship. Her behavior between songs was adorable. Pearl Jam came on afterwards. Eddie Vedder was doing an amusing sort of false Southern act - think Bret Michaels, but slightly more unreal. It was very distinguishing, to his credit and it suited their performance quite nicely. Eddie knows most of the kids at the Bridge School and even played "Sirens" by request of one of them. Also, Temple Of The Dog reunion! Last, but certainly not least, Neil Young. He was just as good as I was expecting, even though he played maybe two songs I knew. Florence Welch, Pegi Young and other performers from earlier in the day joined him throughout his set. The only downside is near the middle of his last song, some guy in the audience started yelling obscenities, but the security took care of it.

I almost never leave concerts early, but I underdressed completely for this benefit. The lawn seats were fine, but due to the long lines to get in, we were relegated to the shade the whole time. By the time Tom Jones' set ended, we were too cold to stay -- which was a bummer, because we missed all the headliners. I definitely can't cross this off my wish list of shows, so I'll have to plan to attend again (assuming Pegi and Neil don't jettison the thing as part of their breakup).

Neil has created a music institution with the Bridge School Concert. There is no other concert series where you can see the eclectic musical lineup that he has assembled year after year. What makes it especially memorable is the acoustic requirements of the performers. Seeing Sound Garden or Pearl Jam or Metallica do a fully acoustic set of songs that were never originally written for that format, and sometimes seeing Neil jump into the middle of the song to assist in the solo or vocals. Just phenomenal!

This show was everything and more than I expected. I had to drive from Santa Barbara and spend two nights in a hotel and I was sceptical that it would be worth the money and hassel. There were no fewer than 5 occasions when I thought this one song alone is worth all the time and money I spent. On top of that it's for a good cause so I will be back next year.

If I had know the artists were going to PLAY THE EXACT SAME SET LIST BOTH DAYS THEN I WOULD HAVE ONLY GONE 1 DAY! Pretty disappointing. From a technical standpoint there must be a reason for doing this, but why don't the musicians switch it up? I guess during soundcheck they must prepare for the same song, but if I had know I would have only gone the one night. Oh well. We parked at the movie theatre and walked to Shoreline, a pleasant walk. Was tempted to get on a Google bike...Got in line about an hour or so before they opened the gates and got a good spot on the lawn each day. The food really is crappy, they let you bring in all sorts of stuff- it was amazing. People had huge bags and backpacks, chairs with inserts. Astounding really. If I had my act together I would totally bring in food for the day. They didn't pat down at all, or open my water bottles like some people said they do. Must be for certain shows only. Ummm, what else...Oh, the 2nd night there were some chain smokers right by us that was disgusting. Don't mind the pot smoke, but cigarette smoke is so gross. The shows were fabulous, Pearl Jam rocked and Hunger Strike with Chris Cornell was an experience of a lifetime. I particularly enjoyed Band of Horses, Norah & Pussnboots, Florence & the Machine, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam. Brian Wilson is too old and his band mates carried the show, it was kinda fun to hear some of the old Beach Boy songs. Tom Jones, eh. Glad I went, but wish I had only gone the 1 night.

The Music, Atmosphere, and People were quite awesome. Temple of the dog was nice to hear. Florence and the Machine, not my cup of tea, but has an awesome voice. A little too much time between acts. 30-45min seemed like a lot of time for acoustic sets. The Venue, could use some maintenance and updating. We were in parking lot C-11 and there were a number of Large Holes in the Parking area.(which was dirt). Which is no big deal during the day. but at 10pm in the complete dark, with one light in the entire parking area, large pot holes cost my wife a twisted ankle and skinned knee about 10' from the car. Also worth mentioning that perhaps the best place for 60 Portable Toilets isn't upwind of general admission. All the sinks in this rear area were empty therefore if you were lucky enough to get a Port-a-potty you couldn't was your hands. Go Hygiene!!!!!

This was my 16th consecutive Bridge School Benefit and it was one of the more memorable ones. There were no real slow spots and all of the artists were entertaining. It was particularly great to see the interaction of the artists with fellow artists as well as the Bridge kids. It makes the experience all the more meaningful. While I wish Soundgarden would have played more than 5 songs, overall it was tough to be disappointed with the show. Tom Jones was surprisingly great with his booming voice, Brian Wilson had the most fun set of the day, Florence + the Machine astounded with her vocals and Pearl Jam proved that they continue to be one of the best live bands around. Another fantastic Bridge and I look forward to next year!

Frustrating!!!!! Ticketmaster, Bridge School and Shoreline Ampitheatre had conflicting show times and NONE had the time gates open. Two places indicated the concert started at 5pm, one said 7 pm (I'd be especially pissed about that!!). We read ALL of the rules about what was allowed and not allowed, and since rain was forecast and we had flown in from out of town without lawn chairs, we went to REI and bought premium "low-back" chairs -- as the rules indicated -- for $70 each (x 4 = $280). Finally found a working phone number at 3:15 on show day that said the gates opened at 3pm, so we hustled over, only to be told at the gate that we couldn't take our chairs in because they had "feet." The woman doing the pat-down said, when we argued, that the rule had been in play all season. (I know we weren't the only ones from outside California that came to the event and would have no way of knowing that without having it posted.) We could "check" the chairs, but we'd done that with cheap umbrellas at a Bruce Springsteen concert last year, only to be told after the concert that they didn't have any checked umbrellas. Weren't going to try that again. What we all wondered was why the hell none of the 3 sites had been updated to reflect new rules? Updating info -- especially in Silicon Valley -- should be a no-brainer, even on whatever substance you prefer. The walk back to the car, which my lovely husband did, took at least 30 minutes. Once seated, we enjoyed the show, but our enthusiasm was dampened considerably. We'd been looking forward to going to this concert for years, finally could, will think twice about it next year.

This event was really fun and for a benefit the ticket prices were awesome. However, if you are attending just to see one or two bands you will be disappointed. Each band was only on stage for 30 minutes which meant there was a lot of down time between sets since the show went from 5pm-12:30am. Maybe because it was for children (read all the performers were sober) there seemed to lack a freedom or energy that's usually present at shows. It was all very orchestrated and planned. The quality of acts was fantastic! Even though I'm not a fan of Brian Wilson or Tom Jones they sounded great. Neil Young singing Heart of Gold sounded like he hadn't aged a day since it was recorded. Band of Horses and Puss and Boots were very dull and I have seen BoH before.

For several years, we have been taking our entire family to this concert. Our family ranges from 10 years old to 55 years old. I never have to beg for any of them to join us. Everyone gets excited! Imagine, superstars playing for the love of music and for the love of those beautiful children sitting on the stage. My ten year old cried. I cried. My wife cried. Every year, the music is more than music, it is love. This is definitely a spiritual event. I recommend everyone, every year on my Facebook, I beg everyone to join me at this concert. Take your family and be touched and help out this school and support Peggy and Neil Young. Where else that you can introduce your children to Carlos Santana, Tony Bennett, Dave Matthews, Eddie Vedder, Mumford and Sons, etc. And this is this year, in past years, Jerry Lewis jamming with Neil Young, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, The Who, and then discover for yourself incredible artists like Trent Reznor, John Mayer on the guitar and so and so on....

I won't go too much into the musical guests, because as you can imagine, they're all amazing. The venue: Generally speaking, I'm not a huge fan of huge venues, but if you're interested in seeing more than one of the music guests it's worth the hassle. Parking was okay for me - I did get there about 30 minutes before the gates opened (and I wasn't the only one). I also left just after the last music guest before Neil came out a final time and had no problem getting out of there either. When to Arrive: If you want a good seat on the lawn, prepare to get there early. Gates opened at noon on Sunday. I was there at 11:30, and already there was a line that went on forever. Once they started letting people in, though, it moved pretty quickly and I snagged some real estate pretty near the front and a smidge off the center. What to Bring: Sunscreen would have been great had I remembered to bring it. And a hat. In past years, I've heard it rained, so just come prepared. A low beach chair saves your bum and back from pain after sitting on the lawn for hours on end. Water (and lots of it) in a pre-sealed bottle. I happened to stop by Panera on my way and snagged a salad so that I wouldn't have to rely on Shoreline's food which, from what I've heard, is costly. And a blanket - it gets cold at night. At the end of the day, it was a crazy fun event that benefits something that's truly wonderful. You really can't go wrong.

I travel alone mostly to shows, great way to meet all kinds of people and this crowd was great....even with the rain! Met some fabulous people! (and one 'not so fabulous' Giants fan that felt compelled to continually recount the World Series score during Pearl Jam) The much anticipated reunion of Buffalo Springfield was even better than the hype! They sounded fantastic and should get out there a do a few more shows on tour....!

It was my first time at the Annual Bridge School Benefit concerts. I heard about it through Pearl Jam's fan site : 10C, so I didn't really know what to expect. I knew it was a big charity event and all, but that was it. Actually I've been very impressed by the good spirit everybody showed. The Amphitheater was really full of good vibes from the beginning to the end. It was lightly raining during most of all the two shows but nobody could care less, we were seated on the lawn, had only plastic bags to seat on (in a nutshell we were not all prepared like some people I have seen with low-back chairs, tarps and blankets) and that was just perfect. It was more than obvious that the artists were there and there only for the kids and this feeling spread on me immediately. The lineup was promising and turned up to be amazing. They were all inhabited by the purpose of the show and It reflected on the quality of their music, maybe sometimes too much : Lucinda Williams could have loosen a bit of vibrato. What amazed me most is that the shows are so family-friendly and good spirited that you really can enjoy the music + it helps kids with severe speech and physical impairments, what more can you ask ?

I would recommed this concert to everyone. It started off a little slow but warmed up fast. The best part of the night was seeing my fiance's reaction when Elton John came out. She was so thrilled to see him live. A dream of hers for many years came true that night. Prayers out to Merle Haggard which was missed that night. Pearl Jam rocked the house. The only thing we didnt enjoy was all the pot smoking going on. It was shocking to see that no one took into thought of the kids there with there families on stage and in the crowd. Other than that this was one great show. What a great foundation the bridge school is and what a better way of supporting this school by going to a great show.

what a beautiful wonderful setting for this wonderful gathering of artists The best part was listening ton them all play together and join each other. The kids on stage were heartwarming.Neil Young and his wife were great hosts. The crowd was mellow and easy to deal with when walking thru ...it was a warm magical night of belief that music is a common denominater and always will be and the music will never die. Thank you for the great experience

It rained, but barely poured. Ions in the air may have contributed to the magic of the night. All acts on deck rocked the house. Particular kudos to Pearl Jam and of course the fabulous/never thought it would happen reunion of Buffalo Springfield! David LIndley and Jackson Browne; Elvis Costello with Emmy Lou Harris; Lucinda Williams with various rotating supporting cast (including Pegi Young).... And, students and alumni of the Bridge School. what a night! Support the work of the Bridge School!!! And don't ever miss this magical event

Besides the fact that this is a great fund raiser for a good cause I really came to see BS sing some of the best songs written from the 60's. They were fantastic and so were many of the other artists. Personally, I was not impressed with Elvis Costello and couldn't wait for him to get off the stage. This venue is mostly always nice but I have to say I would not go again in the rain. Another thing I might add is it seemed to be oversold. I understand it's a fund raiser and they want to sell as many tickets as possible but I thought there were just too many people there. That's just me though. I have an aversion to being in crowds that large. I would definitely go again but next time I will probably splurge for a seat down below to avoid the masses of people on the grass.

This is the first time at this venue, Mountain View Shoreline Amphitheatre. It was super! The sound system was great, and the venue had everything you could need for a concert. One caveat, the venue's website did not mention the type of lawn chairs allowed. We were turned away with the wrong law chairs. Evidently you need what are called "sand chairs" without straight legs so as not to damage the grass?? Other than that, the artists line-up was terrific! Willie Nelson, Neil Young, Dave Matthews, Nora Jones, Roger Waters and Metallica! I definitely will return for another Bridge School Benefits concert!

In a mixture of nostalgia and exciting new acts, Bridge School Benefit Concert came through once more for a unique experience. Willie Nelson and his Family, especially his son Lukas, who is in The Promise of the Real with Neil Young, made the show a positive and moving time travel through musical history. It is hard to believe that Neil Young and Roger Waters can rock it so hard still, but indeed they did. Norah Jones was wonderful as always. Cage the Elephant and My Morning Jacket represented the younger crowd very well, enjoyable and participatory in the spirit of the day. There were a lot of Metallica fans there, but I could have passed their act up easily, enthusiastic but not my cup of tea or shot of whisky! Tried to find a way to honor my friend and companion for the concert who has been to every single year of the concerts. There were no commemoratiave CD's boo hoo!. Maybe they should ask audience participation for number of bridge school events attended?

The Bridge School Benefit Concert has become an annual event for my wife and I. It not only supports a great cause, but the entertainment is first rate. You definitely get your money's worth. It is an all day/into the evening event that is a fundraiser for special needs children. It is simply an outstanding event.

Was very impressed that the show started on time and stuck to the schedule. Thought the acts towards the end (Waters, Metallica) should have been given longer set times. Beer and food prices were outrageous. The place seemed too "packed". I've been coming to Shoreline for 20 years, I've never seen it that full. I think you oversold the lawn area.

2016 will go down as one of the very best years for the Bridge School concert. Every performer brought their "A" game. The opening acts Nils Lofgren, My Morning Jacket, Norah Jones, and Cage the Elephant had great sound and tight sets. Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds had to be really happy with their performance. Roger Waters, Metallica, and Neil with the Promise of the Real were as huge as you'd expect.

day 1 was a loss due to the bad speaker situation where I was sitting. Day 2 unfortunately couldn't repeat attend whole concert so arrived in time for Willie was great. I know concert sold out because of Metallica, but im afraid theyve never been my favorite and after listening to them on day 1 with speaker problems day 2 was just uhh. cont- from "tell us about your seats" My seat rating would have been 5 except for the speaker and except for the fact that on day 1 the person doing a seat assignment turned me away based on her judgement of me and only gave me accessible seats once I showed her a photo of my handicap placard. She said it is her job to make these judgements. I said in that case she should have at least told me the truth rather than turning me away thinking there were no accessible seats left at all. I understand she is in a "tough seat" but you can't always tell what people's disabilities are. Some people are worse off than me but look better off. Some people are worse of and its clearly visible.

Overall a really good show. Nils Lofgren could not even be heard with people talking normally in the lawn. We all were shouting turn it up, but they didn't, must have been a human error glitch. Music was phenomenal otherwise. My Morning Jacket may have had the best set. Nora Jones was great. Promise of the Real was also great. And as usual Neil lit the place up.

From start to finish, this year's Bridge School was absolutely stellar. Neil seemed more like his gregarious self and really provided the engine behind the performances. Loved that Nils was invited again - here is a man that has been there from the dawn of rock and although his music may not be well known, he set the stage with his stories and songs (great hat!). Too bad the sound system was turned down so low (des.pite not so subtle chanting from the crowd). The Elephants were refreshingly new and fun. Norah could have played a longer set and we would still be in heaven. Willie was his usual professional with his unforgettable guitar licks and voice - always a special treat to hear/see Mickey on the harp! Dave Matthews, Roger Waters, and Mettalica were all worthy of headliners. So many great songs, so little time for each. And then there was Uncle Neil and the Promise. A beautiful mix of old and newer delivered with passion and talent. WOW!!

Best performer was Florence and the Machine; least best performer was Brian Wilson, but his voice appears to be deteriorating. Good performance by Neil, but very sad to see friction from pending marriage breakup-What's with Neil and Peggy?; it seems like some folks are far from acting responsibly-Bad News about Neil and Peggy; if it's Neil's fault, he will lose a ton of respect. Hope the show continues, regardless of some very stupid decisions. Been to many Bridge Concerts, this is very sad concert due to a failed marriage.

Loved the concert even more this year, even though I will agree that the time between acts seemed long and at first we didn't think the line-up was as great as years past, but always want to see Neil. Incredible when he comes out alone to start the show and love him singing with Pegi. Heart was better than other concerts we have seen them in. FUN great and My Morning Jacket a huge surprise! Loved Jack Johnson too. CSN&Y better than when we saw them about 10 years ago. Still's voice was stellar this time! Just freezing cold and very late by the time they came on and we couldn't stand to sit anymore. We had to regretfully get up and walk slowly out to warm up. Have to remember next year to bundle up! We travel up from Southern California to see the Bridge Benefit and will continue to do so and hopefully bring our kids. A truly unique show that can't be duplicated and for a wonderful cause!

This concert was interminable. We really wanted to hear Crosby, Stills and Nash but we couldn't wait eight hours for them to appear on stage. Also, it took as long to set up each group as it did for each group to perform. There should be fewer groups and each one should be allowed more time to perform. I'm so sorry I missed my favorite, CS&N.

The crush on the lawn has gotten out of control. No middle row was maintained, which made it nearly unsafe. The overselling lead to overlong lines. The venue needs to be enlarged or fewer tickets need to be sold. The show itself is always the best of the year, hands down! Go Neil and Peggy. Go Bridge School kids!!

Tom Waits was unreal, and the Lou Reed tribute was really heavy, but overall the whole show just felt special - acoustic versions of songs, covers, collaborations (most people played a Neil Young song, many with the man himself). The bands were all great, but as the evening wore on it was very clear that the playing, particularly the guitar playing, was suffering as there appeared to be no heating at all on stage. A few gas heaters/blowers would have helped a lot. We were on the lawn, and it sure would be nice if the staff could keep people from standing along the front railing and ruining the view for the hundreds of fans behind them. Also, the sound balancing was terrible. Couldn't hear David Crosby at all, so it sounded like a different band at times.

I'll be honest--Tom Waits was the big draw for me and probably for most of the people there, judging by the reaction when he was announced. But Neil Young still delivers, Jenny Lewis gave an amazing set, Heart played only one song I knew but still was fun to watch, fun. performed most of their currently known songs plus one old one AND a great cover of Queen's "Somebody to Love," My Morning Jacket teamed up with Neil to do a wonderful version of "Harvest Moon," and Diana Krall and Elvis Costello gave us a great hour or so of folky-alternative music. But Tom Waits was worth the price of admission. He played an amazing set and I would've paid the price of admission just for that.

I've attended a number of BSB concerts in past years which have provided me with the chance to see MY heroes, present and past. Sir Paul McCartney, James Taylor, Ben Harper, and Jack Johnson were the reasons I attended years ago, and the shows gave me the chance to see & hear others, too: Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews, REM, Tony Bennett, Jack Black, Billy Idol, to name a few. There was no question of missing CSNY! I feel blessed to have heard them live, still making it happen, the voices and harmonies still there. I was thrilled with their new songs! In addition, I was pleasantly surprised by My Morning Jacket and Queens of the Stone Age; yet, another gift from BSB. And, it's all for a great cause, supporting little souls in expressing themselves. That is probably the key to the whole event and its beautiful spirit. Thank you, Neil & Peg, for your dedication to such a high purpose; angels are present in abundance at every show. You "teach your children well"!

This year's bridge school benefit was fun. Maybe not one of the greatest ever, but definitely a good time. .fun was fun. Tom Waits was incredibly entertaining, as you would expect. Heart was unexpectedly awesome and did War of Man with Neil. I now see why people love My Morning Jacket. I'm gonna go see them again sometime. I know it was a sold out concert but I would not go if the line up was the same this year. I've only been out of Southern California four or five times in my life, and going to Shoreline involved 8 hours on the road each way, but when Tom Waits came out just after dark and the entire place stood up, it was completely worth it. It was a cold evening and the clouds were teasing rain, but it could've started raining pianos and I still would've happily stood there and growled along with Tom. One of the best things I've ever been to. The other performers were all great as well, which is basically a given with so many legends in the lineup. I do wish Jenny Lewis got to play more, though. She's super good and doesn't get enough attention anywhere. The venue was nice and even toward the back of the grass area, the screens made it easier to see the on-stage happenings. Good sound system, even standing next to drunken hipsters who were shouting at each other, you could clearly hear everyone with the exception of Diana Krall, whose sound is perhaps best suited to indoors. She was still good, though. Fun crowd, good show, and I got to see a guy who I've wanted to see for years now. A bucket list item for me, though I'd gladly re-check this off of my list.

Bridge School is an amazing event, so many great artists playing for free. I hadn't realized wxactly how many artists and the time in between each and the various Bridge School promotions that occur, so by the time it was over 7 hours later, I was cold, broke, and tired. Seems the set changes could be shorter and not so many promotions for the school. They must raise millions in ticket sales, do they really need a raffle too? But no where esle do you get such a bang for your buck!
