Jay Mohr
Popular, sarcastic comedian, Jay Mohr, began his career as one of the nation's top stand-up comics before spending two seasons as a writer and featured performer on Saturday Night Live. He went on to create and host NBC's Last Comic Standing, and acted in the CBS series Gary Unmarried and Ghost Whisperer. A lifelong sports fan, Mohr played a football agent in the hit film Jerry Maguire, hosted FOX's NFL This Morning and created Mohr Sports for ESPN.

Wow! He took a drink of his orange gatorade at the start of his act at 8:15. Neither my wife nor I saw him drink from it again when he stopped at 10:45. And we never left our seats. Two and 1/2 hours of frenetic comedy! Very funny! Very poignant stories! Too many F-words for our taste, but we forgive him! Well worth the money!

Jay Mohr was even funnier than we expected. We thought he'd be more low key like his Gary Unmarried character, but his personal stories were much more fun. It was definitely adult humor and unexpectedly raunchy, but hysterical.

I think that most people think that Jay is just an actor trying to break into standup. He's not - he's the real deal, and can make anyone laugh hysterically! This is unfortunately only the second time we've been able to see him. The first time, his Christopher Walken story had me laughing so hard that I missed half of the jokes! This show was no different. His acting skills only make the comedy better. Even if he hits controversial material, it's done with a skill that couldn't possibly offend anyone. I just think Jay is an amazing comedian. We went with 3 people who couldn't wait to get on their cell phones and tell friends how hilarious he was. I'll definitely see every show of his that I can. We bought his new book, and he graciously signed it and was patient and warm with every fan after the show.

Jay Mohr opened the show and was amazing. He was dirty, raunchy funny and kept you laughing the entire time. Joe Piscopo followed with a self indulgent vaudeville act. He came out singing and when that didn t get the crowd on their feet he resorted to showing clips of himself from his days on SNL. He attempted a horrible impersonation of David Letterman with a TOP 5 of California but really missed the mark. Then he started singing again. At one point, he pulled out a flute. That s when my party of 4 walked out along with many others doing the same. How do you go from vulgar sex jokes to a 60 year old playing the flute? It just doesn t work. I have seen Jay Mohr in the past and he has never disappointed. I didn t find him as entertaining as when he played the IMPROV. Perhaps it was the venue. I will never see a show at that casino again and I will NEVER consider seeing Joe Piscopo again.

Jay Mohr is the funniest stand up comic on the planet. I laughed so hard I cried. He is a great storyteller and does dome incredible impressions. He does not have canned jokes, rather he meanders through a couple of hilarious hours on his life in show business, travels, and the often weird people that he meets, throwing in an impression or three along the way. I heard Jay on the radio some months before I bought tickets to his show. He was doing impressions of Alec Baldwin. I must have been laughing the whole time. Jay doesn't disappoint with his on the money impressions of other Hollywood figures and true stories about the figures to match. It was a great time.

I have always been a fan of Jay Mohr so when he came to San Antonio I had to go. He did not disappoint in his performance! I even took my mom who is not a fan of dumb comedy at all and she loved the show!! Jay told some crazy stories about famous people and working on movie sets. He also had a lot of regular everyday things that happen. He shared his perspectives on many subjects and not a single joke was missed. I highly encourage everyone to go see Jay Mohr live! You will be completely entertained and your sides will hurt from laughing. *Pro tip: ladies wear water proof mascara because you will laugh till you cry! He even does a meet and greet and the end of his show. Although I met him as he was walking to the theatre just before the show. He was really great and I was able to get a couple pictures with him before the show.

Jay was hiliarious for about the first 90 minutes of his show, but then took a left turn and jumped the shark for the last 30 minutes! He started getting more raunchier with his language and the jokes just weren't as funny as they were for the majority of his show. My girlfriend, who was laughing hysterically earlier, fell asleep for the last half hour! All in all, it was a good show, and we really enjoyed it, but we were seriously hoping he would have wrapped it up a half-hour earlier. Still worthwhile. I applaud his stamina and wanting to give the audience a good two-hours of his comedic humor. Still like him a lot, but for this show he would have been better served to cut it short at 90 minutes.

Even though Jay had bronchitis, he delivered the best stand up routine i've seen. I laughed uncontrollably the entire time. Had a great time as I was on a date with my girlfriend. I've always loved Jay Mohr. The show was a little slow at some points, but overall, a fun evening. Tickets were reasonably priced ($35 for a front row table), but after fees, they ended up being $50 each. On top of that, you have to purchase food at the Venue (The Canyon), so all in all, the night ended up costing $500 for a party of six. Not sure I would do that again. The warm up guy was awful! Totally annoying and NOT funny!

Wow! Jay Mohr blew us away. I can't believe what a show he gave us. He talked much longer than we expected and really gave his all. It was obvious that he genuinely appreciates the people who pay money to see him and it seemed like he was having fun. His style was more frenetic/all over the place than I expected and I'll admit I got lost a handful of times, but he was SO funny. He said he'll be back next year and I hope that's true, we will definitely see him again. Also really love this venue, feels so intimate, seems like there's hardly a bad seat in the house. P.S. I thought video recording was not allowed in shows. Maybe that's not all shows, but I wish it would be. The guy in front of me kept recording on his phone. It was distracting and annoying.

With much excitement, I entered the House of Blues Saturday night. Had an appetizer and a couple of cocktails with my girlfriend. Jay Mohr came out and started his routine and it immediately went south. He almost acted like he was on something but supposedly he has been sober for a number of years. he wasnt funny and relied entirly too much on sad stories from the 'good ole days' on SNL and partying w/Chris Farley etc. What was he on there, a year? very disappointing

Well we ended dinner abruptly to get to the House Of Blues venue by 7PM as stated on the tickets only to find out there was no opening act and the show might start at 8PM. Jay Mohr came on around 8:15. He wasn't funny. I looked around the audience and noted very few laughs. We left half way through.

First time seeing Jay Mohr live...won't be the last. Nice combination of familiarity with the audience and NOT taking their time or laughs for granted. To quote Denny Green..."he was who I thought he would be." Normal, down to Earth, genuine and dammit I'll say it...funny. Stories about Eastwood, Farley and of course Walken. I would recommend to anyone, whether or not they are familiar with his radio credits. I'll make sure to catch him when he is back in town.

Well the club was good the group I was with pretty much all agreed that the first comedian was great but I didn't even catch his name!!! And Jay Mohr was just ok I know I didn't pick this comedian to see one of our Buddy picked him for his bachelor party, he liked it and that's all that counts I would not go and see mr Mohr again? Sorry I don't think so unless he took the 1 st twenty mins out all about some new murder channel on TV. In a word it sucked

Comedy show was ok. The venue was packed and seating we ended up getting was upstairs pretty far from the stage. But with a group of drunk guys right behind us talking and interrupting the show didn't help any.

Having been to Cobb's over the years, I have noticed a couple of things. 1. Menu has improved, and the quality of the food has improved. No need to eat elsewhere before a show! 2. There have been some upgrades to the venue that are nice. Men's room is nicely improved. Service was excellent. Thanks Lyle! (and other staff.). The temperature was also pleasant, as I have experienced at other clubs it being too hot (or too cheap to us the a/c). Jay Mohr does not disappoint. The show was excellent. Great entertainment and the time just flew by. Dean Delray opened the show as the feature, which was amazing because he is headliner quality as Jay mention when he began his part of the show. I will come to see them both again.

Jay Mohr at Cobb's on Thursday, March 12. Jay's form of humor isn't for everyone, but I found him to be pretty funny. He does a great job of intertwining his stories/bits.

Was in Cincinnati on business and web search listed Jay Mohr. I listen to his show when I can and really enjoy his wit and overall outlook. The show was non-stop two hours of laughter... and sweating. Jay even mentioned how hot the Taft Theater was (and the crowd all agreed). Fantastic one man show ! ! Jay kept the crowd involved with the real life stories... all funny. He even conspired with a fan to pull off a great marriage proposal on stage. Leaving the show, the noise level was similar to leaving a rock show. Everyone had a great time.

As a regular listener to his "Jay Mohr Sports" radio show, I was excited when he announced an appearance in Cincinnati where he would perform his stand-up comedy. The show had a 8 p.m. start listed on the ticket, and in fact no one appeared on stage until Jay came on at 8:30. But from that point forward, he did not disappoint. He was very engaged with the audience and, best of all, he was FUNNY! He performed for over 2 hours, which -in my experience- is rare for a stand-up comedian. He came out for a meet-and-greet following his set and while I wanted to stay and shake his hand and tell him how much I enjoyed his set, the slow-moving line was long and I had to make the 100-mile drive back home (to Louisville) so I left. But it was a fun night and I hope to see him perform again someday.

I took a friend to see Jay Mohr as a gift for her birthday. I have to say I was very disappointed in the show. I've been to several comedy shows and this is the first time I can say it was not worth the price of the tickets. His material was boring, definitely did not find myself very entertained.

Jay. Mohr was hysterical. He was relaxed and witty and riffed for most of the show. I laughed the entire time- which was about an hour and a half. Great show. Highly recommend.

My wife and I have seen Jay Mohr on TV, etc and we were looking forward to seeing him live. He came on very late but not sure if this was him or The Space's doing. Anyway, he was very hi-energy and the crowd seemed to enjoy it but about half-way through I caught myself thinking that I hadn't laughed out loud even once. Then I looked over at my wife and she was sleeping! Her first reaction after the show was the same as mine... funny at times but no belly laughs... just not as funny as we thought he'd be. He started by going off on people that love their pets more than anything else... but this bit went on and on and just wasn't funny after five minutes. He did have some funny bits about being married, and prescription drugs, but those - and the bit about the TLC show about a man with 135 lb. gonads - just seemed to go on forever. He definitely beat his jokes to death. All in all he was OK. I've seen worse. But he's probably better at a comedy cellar type of place with several other comics and a time limit.

Jay Mohr was absolutely fantastic!! He was funny from the first seconds he was on stage and it didn't stop until he left the stage!! I would definitely see him again if he came back. The only drawback was the bar service. There seems to be 400 ushers but one lady serving drinks. If Foxwoods would have had more waitresses it would have been a little better.
