Celtic Tenors

CELTIC TENORSTouring Australia – 2018When you put together three brilliant Tenor voices with natural Irish brogue, singing spine-tingling Classical, Folk, Irish, Gaelic and Pop favourites in stacked three-part harmonies, then mix them up with quick witted banter, you have the CELTIC TENORS.The charismatic, globe-trotting trio are the most successful classical crossover artists ever to have come out of Ireland. They just sing songs they love and they most certainly don’t take themselves too seriously.  It’s all about the music, the harmonies and the fun.

A very enjoyable evening. The tenors performed many great Irish classics, as well as many opera renditions. Their vocal range was excellent. Yes, I would recommend attending their concert. The venue, And acoustics, were excellent as always.

The Celtic Tenors show at the Ryan Center was most enjoyable. After opening with an Irish lilting ballad, the rest of the songs were well performed and well organized. The men themselves alternated in solos, repartee with the crowd, and introductions to the songs. Their pianist could have performed solo, so gorgeous was his accompaniment. It was mentioned that they usually play in a theatre-type setting, but nothing impaired their delivery.

The power of their voices filled the stadium. There were times when they didn't even use a microphone! It was a beautiful evening. I 'd love to see them again.

I went to this event more to be a driver for my parents and mother in law, but was not expecting to be too impressed. I was so wrong! I was so moved by the Celtic Tenors voices, songs and humor. This was a truly enjoyable experience.

Although we enjoyed thier superb music, we both would have like much more HOLIDAY music - Irish or otherwise -- to have been included! There were a FEW holiday songs, but a few too few!!! And, they promoted their new (and old) CD's WAY too often -- although i understand that it is necessary to do occasionally. They also ENDED with a rather ODD choice: personally, I forgot WHAT it was, but it was neither Irish nor Holiday....it would have been wonderful to at least END the night with a HOLIDAY song, or an IRISH one...or better still, an Irish Holiday one! So...you get my point: I THOUGHT that this was billed as a Celtic Tenors Holiday show!!! Enjoyed their music -- would have preferred different choices of music selections for the season.

I love these guys. This was a great concert. Great guys. Lovely Irish accents when they spoke. Wonderful, warm, funny personalities. Excellent music selection. Beautiful voices. Perfectly blended harmonies. They even did audience participation and let us sing, too. They did all types of music and not just Irish or Celtic stuff. Very good selection, which will appeal to many music lovers. I got these tickets for my boyfriend, who is Irish, as a birthday gift. We both enjoyed it. A few times they actually had people crying at some of their heartfelt renditions and the warmth by which they sung them. They also had people dancing in their seats and clapping to some of the livelier songs. Would definitely see them again. They got a standing ovation and truly deserved it! They made an entire theater full of people feel right at home. Oh yeah, great piano player and some good old-fashioned guitar playing.

The group started a little slow, frankly. Several arrangements called for them to go beyond their impressive ranges, and individually they struggled a bit. Going falsetto when they have such substantial natural ranges, in particular, was a bit much. They performed several crowd pleasing and lively Irish favorites, and as the evening went on, their arrangements and their voices seemed to work much better together. Several operatic numbers, in particular, enabled them to blend and harmonize wonderfully. On balance, harmonies and unison singing became warm and sharp as the evening went on. This was a good concert, but not a great one.

The Celtic Tenors were just plain wonderful. These three gentlemen brought down the hose with their perfect vocals, humerous asides and charming performances. All of the tunes were perfect and the accompaniment with just piano or guitar was tasteful and inobtrusive. What's more, these guys can sing.. On several acapella numbers their voices were as clear as a bell and strong enough so that they didn't need microphone as they proved to us on one number. They also varied their routine so that the variety of music was not boring - some holiday numbers, some Celtic, some classical/opera and some pop were all a part of their 2 plus hour set. If you are interested in listening to unadulturated talent that needs no histrionics, embellishments or fireworks to make an impression, then I would recommend seeing the Celtic Tenors. Also wonderful was the venue - Showcase Live at the Gilette Complex in Foxboro. Wonderful set up - every seat has a perfect view. Top notch accoustics and large screens so you can check out things in more detail. The food and drinks were also great and reasonable and the staff couldn't be nicer or more helpful. A good place to consider when you want to see talent but don't want to be in a stadium. Wonderful evening.

Expected more IRISH songs considering day before St. Pat's but the boys put on a great show and would see them again if got the chance! Their SetList was nicely varied across the board from familiar Irish tunes to Oprea to Josh Growgan!

A really great performance, their voices are amazing. The show was a great mix of styles as they incorporated contemporary with classical, opera and even humor. their versions of "Danny Boy", "You Raise Me Up", "Time To Say Goodbye" and "Nessun Dorma" were show stoppers. The only reason I cant give this show a 5th star is because the price point of the seats was $10-$15 too high.

The Celtic Tenors were fun and had excellent music. Ronan Tynan sang excellently, as usual. However, his part of the program was too short. Second, we didn't pay the ticket price to hear Tynan's accompanist singing solos. The Tenors had a great deal of exciting energy and a mixed repertoire that was thoroughly enjoyable. Quality of music of both Tynan and the Tenors was excellent.

Ronan Tynan was upset with the sound system. Melody Tent did not provide a non static mike for him. He only sang a few songs. His voice is spectacular and he let us enjoy it ever so briefly Did not appreciate his pianist singing two songs Celtic Tenors did not stop for a moment with a nice variety of songs and getting the audience involved in their music. Would recommend them for any performance

The Celtic Tenors did a wonderful job, their rendition of Danny Boy with zero background music nor microphone was an awesome display of the human voice. A wonderful mix of culture, they sang Irish tunes, sang songs in Spanish and Italian. A Must see.

The Celtic Tenors have been together for 12 years, and have honed their act to perfection. I couldn't have asked for more. They have personality and are relaxed, and interact in a fun way with their audience. We loved their banter and jokes, and their voices soared to the heavens. It was pure joy listening to them, so much so that I choked with emotion as they performed "The Holy City" and "Danny Boy". This is music at its very best. The only negative thing is that it had to end! I could listen to them all day, and still not get enough of their talent!

1. I thought that the quality of singing was less than I expected, except for the tall, thin singer, who was excellent. 2. The selection of music was strange and in many cases outdated with too few traditional Irish songs. 3. It was the worst concert that I have heard by any group of Irish tenors. 4. I would not recommend paying to hear this group in concert.

Danny Boy was amazing & when I heard them sing without mics, I wished they had sung all evening that way - the blended sound of their voices was so beautiful. The variety of music was excellent and a good mix of hand-clapping, seasonal, pop and Irish. I had expected more traditional Irish music, but was fine with their selection. I would definitely attend another performance of the group. Bring them back!

For those few hours, all my problems went away. All was well in the world. The most perfect harmony mixed with a little humor and story telling. They are fantastic. There is just nothing like a li ve performance. Our seats were great too. The final joy came from watching my friend have such a good time too. If only I could hold on to that feeling forever.

An unforgetable evening of delightfull music. They are wonderful, diverse and so very involved with their audience. Thank you for the opportunity for us to attend and bring our 90 year old mother (in a wheelchair) to a holiday event that was so exciting and upbeat for her to see and hear. There is so much going on in our world, it is rare to have the opportunity to enjoy this type of venue so close to home. URI was a great place. Let's do more! Again, Thank you and happy holidays to you and yours.

The Celtic Tenors were really terrific. We secured the tickets, but I was a bit uncertain about how listening to three guys singing without electric guitars and a stage show would be, but it was a very pleasant surprise. These guys were great entertainers, genuinely talented without the benefit of voice enhancement and synthesizers. It was a throwback to a day when people paid to listen to the quality of others' voices and the delivery of a good performance. Overall, it was a refreshing change from the usual ear splitting rock concert, and, again, an usually good, authentic performance by three incredibly talented people.
