Kid N Play

KID N’ PLAY IN CONCERT: In the late ‘80s and early ‘90s, Kid ‘n Play went from upstart NYC hip hop duo to household name thanks to their fresh style, outsized personalities, and a string of feel-good hits like “Fun House”, “Ain’t Gonna Hurt Nobody”, and “Rollin’ with Kid n’ Play”. As chart success gave way to silver screen fame in the ‘90s, the pair spent much of the next decade focused on their acting careers, but a return to their musical roots was always inevitable. Since starting to perform together again in 2009, Kid n’ Play have proven they still know how to get the party started right, kicking out their new jack swing-influenced hip hop jams with the same playful energy that made them stars. Though Kid’s iconic 10” flat-top fade is long gone, the pair still busts out their trademark Kick Step dance move at every show, treating fans to a blast from the past that always gets every last bootie in the room shaking.

The event was awesome! I was upset we couldn't go to the balcony when we were able to at the Sisqo & Mya show. The floor was way too crowded and only 1 bar to service everyone. For an even like that, balcony should be open to create more space.

Started late. Kid n play did one song them took a break. Came back after 5 minutes and did another song. The rest was talking and playing other artists songs. The entire show was MAYBE 30 minutes of which only two songs were kid n play songs. Tickets only about $20 but it wasn't even worth that and the drive. MAYBE had 50 people there if that many.there were no assigned seats. Just chairs in the middle of floor and tables on the side. Seats and tables open to anyone that got to them.

lisa lisa and big daddy kane were no shows. prob didnt want to be assoc wit such garbage. the performers were dressed like they walked off the street. couldnt tell them from the stage hands. the dj was more entertaining. chub rock was great. full force was ok. kid and play were whack. they sung two songs, took a break. came back sung another, then said goodbye.

For a second row seat in the pit, the first 30 minutes of the show was disapointing. Everyone in our area were speaking of refunds. It wasn't until Chub Rock, Montel Jordan and Kid N Play hit the stage that anything got going. Even then some people were so disapointed that it couldn't equate to our expectations!

Walked in disappointed because Lisa Lisa and Big Daddy Kane were not there...IF Montell Jordan was a REPLACEMENT for Big Daddy Kane like I heard someone say, then they should've changed the commercial. PISSED about that. Full Force first...seemed like practice for them, band was not into it, but what was worst was their MICS were messed up. those tix cost 2 much 2 have messed up mics floating around. Once Force MD's joined them, more mics brought up, got a bit better...It was too loud in some areas, and I've been to plenty Chene Park concerts, that was distortion loud...i thought our seats were bad, BUT we didn't get that straight on blast of sound like many people got, so hidden blessing
