The Rat Pack Is Back

The Rat Pack Is Back

What happens in Vegas…all started with The Rat Pack. This spirited show recreates one of the famous “Summit at the Sands” nights when swingin’, ring-a-ding group known as “The Rat Pack” was creating hipster legend with a free-wheeling, no-holds-barred nightclub act starring Vegas’ four favorite sons: Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr., Dean Martin and Joey Bishop. Produced by Dick Feeney, THE RAT PACK IS BACK features uncanny vocal recreations, unbridled humor, and a hot, live 12-piece orchestra that sends audiences straight back to the coolest time in history.

I have seen this show twice. Once in Vegas and this time at the Embassy theater in Fort Wayne, IN. The show takes you back to the 1960's with the famous Rat Pack cast of Frank, Dean, Sammy, and Joey. It's an amazing show and you'll love it.

The Show was very good overall. I thought for the price of tickets, it was well done. It was funny and entertaining. I expected it to be 2-3 hours, but was barely 2. The actor portraying Sammy Davis, did a solo performance that went on too long until he did Mr. Bojangles! It was worth the wait. Still singing that song in my head! The actor portraying Dean Martin was hysterical. He really did a great job bringing his character to real life. There could have been more Sinatra songs, but after all it was the Rat Pack. Go, enjoy and bring your parents if you can. They will love it. Get good seats up close. I love to see the shows up close and makes the overall experience much better.

This was a anniversary gift for my parents.....they just called me and they were thrilled! They said that the show was amazing and the food was wonderful! My mother loved the Dean Martin impersonator. They sat in the front row and my father had the honor of having Marilyn Monroe sing to him! Thanks for the great performance!

The show itself was very entertaining... but.. we were sitting in section A.. third row up from the stage. We saw the actual performers maybe a total of 10 minutes of the whole show... the rest of the show we saw the back end of the band... (drummer was excellent), Seeing as we paid to see the performers, we felt cheated. The stage did not go all the way around.. only partially and then reversed the direction.. so most the time (like I said) we saw the back ends of the band members. Some ladies from the section to the left of us even complained to a stage hand. If the band was positioned below the stage and the performers alone on the stage the view may have been different. The performers had wonderful voices (almost exact) .. and even the manerisms down pat.

Even though this was our 9th summer vacation on Cape Cod, we had never before attended an event at the Melody tent . The Rat Pack caught my eye on the website and all 8 in our group ( with a wide range of ages and musical tastes) expressed interested in going, so I ordered the tickets. It was FABULOUS!

It was a great show. Brian D was wonderful, he sounded just like FRANK. Drew A. looked so much like Dean, he was fantastic. The comedy was so Joey Bishop style and Kyle surely had Sammy's down to a tee. I'd recommend it highly.

Was so looking forward to seeing the Rat Pack. Though the show was o.k. - it didn't pack the punch that it should have. The band was too loud (esp. the horns) - drowning out the singers. Frank, Dean and Joey were all good - brought the "Pack" back to life. Sammy showed no resemblance either in appearance or sound. Tought the ratio of comedy to singing was too high on the comedy side.

If you want to experience the era when Frank, Sammy, Dino and Joey Bishop were riding the crest of their popularity as entertainers, this is the show for you. The fast paced, witty banter between the boys seemed very natural and made you think you were right on stage with them. The gentlemen portraying Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin were the most convincing in looks and vocal renditions. The band sits right on stage and the boys interact with them as well - great little quips and jabs are shot back and forth adding to the charm. The Joey Bishop impersonator reminds you of what great stand-up was all about; his delivery and animated facial expressions really had the audience laughing boisterously. Two hours flew by and I was truly sorry to see the show end, as I had become part of the Rat Pack scene, if only for brief moment in time. If you get a chance to go, please do. You will not be disappointed.

We really enjoyed the Rat Pack is back! We particularly thought the gentleman who protrayed Dean Martin was excellent! Our only disapointment was when "Sammy Davis Jr" did the Bojangles song - we were expecting some tap dancing. The "real" Sammy Davis Jr. was known for his tap dancing and did a great deal of tapping when he sang this song. Other than that -it was very entertaining!

I brought my 84 year old Mom and she just loved the show. Her foot was tapping through the whole show. She clapped and smiled the whole time. It was priceless... Remembering the Rat Pack growing up and the music it was just as enjoyable for me. I noticed a young man sitting close by, he may have been 18 or so, he was enjoying the show just as much as the older group. I guess young people do appreciate good music.

...I was in the pack! They were "the kings" of not only entertainment but of "swish" (the cultural equivilent of "way cool" these days). Every guy wanted to be either Sinatra or some version of "Deano" or Sammy, and these guys brought all that back... the style, the towering talent, the lifestyle - our appreciation for a happier era. The band was excellent, echoing the sounds of Riddle, Basie, and all the big band arrangements. My 85 yr. old mother had stars in her eyes - priceless!

We thought the show was very good. Dean Martin looked so much like him. The only thing I didn't like was, where we were sitting behind the orchester, we thought that the stage would rotate more all the way around and it didn't. Other people near us said the same thing. Also when it got to the end, They all stood in a line on the opposite side of us, we thought that would come around on our side before leaving the stage. And at the end they left and never came back for another bow. But all in all it was a great show.

The performers, especially the gentleman impersonating Frank Sinatra were good, as was the 12 peice orchestra. It was kind of hard to get over the fact that they broke after approximately 42 mins., and announced that there would be a half hour intermission. Second set was about an hour. Two tickets totalled $89.50 - sorry, not worth it. The gentleman playing Joey Bishop was also entertaining, but the endless gay jokes became rather tedious. I just have to say that overall, it was a disappointment and I don't think I'd see them again even if the tickets were free.

They were exceptional. My son, who is a big Frankie fan, was totally taken back at the quality of the performers and the look they had. We left at intermission. We both love this kind of music but found the performances of two rat pack members to be disappointing. Dean Martin looked the part, but had a very weak voice and had the audience do most of the singing. Sammy Davis is hard to imitate, but we'd hoped for better. Frank Sinatra and Joey Bishop were pretty good, however. The deciding factor for our leaving early was that our seats were terrible--my neck hurt after a while twisting my head so far to the left to see what was going on. I couldn't hear all the punch lines either--I don't know if it was the performers' use of their microphones, or the acoustics. If the seats had been better, we might have stayed to fight the exiting traffic--perhaps we missed the best part of the show. You get what you pay for, I guess.

The Rat Pack is Back is a very good imitation of what the original Rat Pack must've been like back when Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr., and Joey Bishop prowled the streets and stages of Las Vegas. I had seen videos of the group before, but this was the first time to see what it really must have looked like. Each performer had their part, beginning with Joey Bishop's open joke session, Dean's and Sammy's singing before the intermission. After that, it was Sinatra and the group doing a comedy routine. While the man playing Sinatra sorta looked like him, his voice was tremendous. If you closed your eyes, you would have thought it was Ole Blue Eyes himself. The singer who played Dean Martin really looked like the old Dino and sang well also. Sammy Davis's impersonator did not look much like his character, but he too could sing and dance. Joey Bishop's character had the right inflection and accent and a perfect deadpan delivery. All in all, it was a great show!

The sound quality was very poor and it was very difficult to understand the various jokes and banter. Even the music was indistinct and hard to enjoy. Although the actors tried hard to please, the singing performance of "Sammy Davis" and "Dean Martin" was poor with many missed notes. Only "Frank Sinatra" did a really good job and we enjoyed his singing performance. If the audio quality had been up-to-snuff and there was less talking, more music, we would have enjoyed the show.

The actors looked like their Pack member, dressed the part, and sounded great. However, they over acted their parts and detracted from my enjoyment of hearing the music again. For example, did Dean really need to act intoxicated for the whole performance? He set the stage in his opening performance, but after that get back to straight music. He disrupted every song with some antic or joke that got in the way of the music. Others had the same problem. Why didn't Sammy do "Candyman"? Why didn't Frank do "It was a very good year"

The music was great and the guys playing Dean Martin, Sammy Davis and Joey bishop all had thier characters personalitys down but the only one who sounded like the real person was Frank.Sinatra. He had the look sound mannerisms..everything spot on! They all sang well and are obviously talented but all four of us who attended agreed that anyone of us can sing the songs but the magic is making you believe they are right Ther sing to you....Frank was the only one who did. The show takes you back pretty faithfully to old Vegas style entertainment. If you have ever seen Frank, Sammy, and Dean in those clips from the early 60's at the Sands you will have seen the inspiration for this show. The standout performance is from the young man who does Sinatra. He is outstanding in every way and really steers the entire production just like the original chairman of the board.

This show is a high quality and entertaining window into the old Vegas of the early '60's. The singing and comedic jibes at one another are spot on. The house was packed and the pack delivered. "Frank Sinatra" kicked off the evening entering down the center isle. His voice is exquisite and his "Sinatra" sound and styling are spot on. "Dean Martin" joins "Frank" and was the reincarnation of Dean Martin - the sound the gestures. Not only are these performers highly skilled and talented singers - they are very fine actors as well. The banter was reminiscent of the old days and really added to the show. The real Dean Martin would have liked to have sounded as incredibly good as this performer impersonating him. Then the AMAZING "Sammy Davis, Jr." came on and blew us away with the magnitude and power or his voice, movement, performance. Sensational!! All three also perform numbers as duets and as a trio --All the great songs and the best of their major hits. The orchestra/band and the music direction is flawless - what a fantastic sound. Highly recommended and worth seeing again for sure!

Their involving the audience certainly made the night of many of the attendees! We only wish there had been enough time to perform all their well known hits (impossible!!). Just FYI, seats are NOT assigned--although it appeared on our confirmation that they were. It was more first arrival for best seats. Seating was allowed an hour before showtime--drinks were available. We had good seats, just off center stage equivalent to 3 rows back.

The Rat Pack Is Back show presented a retro trip down memory lane with outstanding vocals, comedy throughout, and a great band. Lots of laughs and super entertaining.

Show was great especially Dean Martin although I think they could have toned down the drunk bit a little, a little to slap-stick....only thing disappointed over all was ticketmaster coning me into event insurance some how......don't even know how it happened, ended up with a charge on my card.

This reminded us of the small intimate showrooms of Vegas; perfect venue for this show. The setting was wonderful; the orchestra fantastic; and the boys, well, the boys could only have been better had they sang on and on and on. Just totally enjoyed the trip back to yesteryear. Would have so loved if Dean could have come running out and slid onto the piano.

This was a fun show with excellent performances that brought the original Rat Pack members and their songs and voices back to mind--the music that was on my mom's radio when I was a little girl! My 88 year old mother was along and had a great time.

I will admit that when we saw this show in Las Vegas it was very good. So when we saw that they were coming to a venue in Maine we were very excited. They did not disclose however that the regular Sinatra impersonator (Brian Duprey) would be replaced by someone who did not look, sing, or act like Frank. The experience was like going to a Josh Groban concert and getting Gilbert Gottfried instead. If you've ever heard Brian Duprey, you can understand why I am so disappointed. The role of Sinatra in the Rat Pack is integral to the entire flow of the show and the fill-in was just unacceptable.

We really enjoyed the show. They were very entertaining. The newspaper article stated that the show was going to be from 8:00 to 11:00. The show actually ended at 9:20 or 9:25. You really should change your advertising.

The "Dean Martin" really looks like a young Dino. None of the voices were even close to the originals. The "joey Bishop" character added some laughter. I felt like I wasted $100 on this travesty. My decision...my fault.

Band was very good but their volume drowned out the singers. Show was half as long as advertised. No food or snack options during the show.

The show was intertaining, but the music was louder than the performers were. The seatting was lousy. We sat on the upper balcony and there was NO leg room. Our knees touched the seat in fornt of us. The most diisappointing thing is that the show only lasted for 1 hour and 10 minutes. At the least,, this show should have been 30 minutes lioger. Several people were talking on how this was disappointing to them, as well. Al though the performers were great, I am glad that I did not pay more money, because of the poor seating and the lack of show time.

It was equal to Reno Venue. The show was great. We saw "The Rat Pack is Back " in 2002 at the Sahara in Las Vegas and I would say these guys were much better and looked alot like the original Rat Pack. The Frank Sinatra impressionist/look alike looked so much like the original it was uncanny.
