Had a wonderful time with my family! Couldn't have asked for a nicer time.....except for the price of the tickets....had to sit in the balcony because the floor tickets were $90 and $75. for a family show...when you need 6......well that could break a person......

I loved the performance of Corelli, Golijov and Mozart by the TSO! I was especially excited about the preliminary concert comments with Conductor Andrew Grams. The performance of Golijov was amazing and what was outstanding was that they combined the Golijov with the concerti by Corelli to merge 300 years! This is only one of the amazing things TSO does with flawless grace. Conductor Andrew Grams spoke during intermission and amused us with his comments. And of course, the Mozart symphony was brilliant and brilliantly performed. I am so glad I attended because it's was an experience I will never forget!

This was our first visit to the Catalina High School music hall. We were very impressed with its overall design and comfort and the acoustics were excellent. It is a great place for presenting symphonic music. The conductor displayed great mastery of the music in timing, tone variation and the blending of the varied instruments so the overall effect was, indeed, amazing. The musicians, as usual, were very accomplished.

This was our 3 year old's first symphony. He started violin lessons in June and he has become intrigued with how other people play. We've been waiting for the perfect one as we cannot go on Saturdays when most of the kid events are (Hint, hint, some Sunday events would be nice!!!) and this came up. He LOVED it. He was enraptured for the entire approximately 90 minute show. It ran 2 hours, but the intermission was quite long, which was helpful as with so many children in attendance, the bathroom line was quite long. As a Xennial, it's so nice to introduce my son to the cartoons of my youth. I loved the older ones, less so the newer ones. I feel like they don't add anything and are FAR less creative. 3D and technology can do that in my opinion. The orchestra did an amazing job syncing with the video, but it was odd on a couple of pieces where they didn't play an entire set, but it was dubbed in over the sound. Granted, my 3 yo was watching the screen anyway. After we pointed out the first violinist, he heard the oboe and saw the conductor, he was fully fixated on Bugs and the gang. An amazing show for kids, but I'll be honest, I'm worried he'll be disappointed there's no TV when we see the Messiah in a few weeks! Great job TSO!

I am so glad I purchased tickets for this show. The venue was awesome, the performances by the orchestra was phenomenal, and the beverages available (mixed drinks, coffee, even beer) was even better. We traveled over an 1hr to attend and it was well worth it. Our seats were on the balcony and we could see the screen and orchestra perfectly. Thanks Tucson Orchestra and the City of Tucson for such a great performance for the holidays. Afterwards we had dinner at the local Mexican Resturant "El Guero Canelo" awesome food as well.

I had a great experience. The music was simply awesome. The Maestro had it going for sure. I am a Mariachi fan for many many years and this combination was fantastic. The Mariachi group was excellent and when they came back to play for the final hour of the program, it brought back some fond memories. It was worth the drive from Phoenix and I would do it again.. The pre show was good, and the vendors were very friendly and helped make the venu..

A very nice evening out........the Tucson Symphony & lead vocalist were very talented & enjoyable. The only items that could have veen added: (1) notation in the program on which Bond movie every song came from, & (2) maybe having a large screen in the back showing the movie scenes on the instrumental numbers. Still, I would recommend this event.

The Tucson Symphony was wonderful to listen to and there playing of Bond music was right on. However, even though I've several songs of Ms. Kole's, I was disappointed by her performance. She sang about 6-8 songs from the Bond portfolio, but just didn't seem to have the strength of voice relative to other singers of these tunes, e.g., Shirley Bassey and Tina Turner.

This was absolutely wonderful! My sister and I both work night shift, so we arrived 10 minutes late to the event. We were greeted by the workers and their first words to us were "There they are!!" with such a warm smile! They escorted us to our seats, making sure we didn't interrupt the current song. The performance itself were wonderful. We loved the energy of the Conductor throughout the whole event! The UA Dance Ensemble was a little choppy at first. However, they pulled it together during the Nutcracker and we can really feel the emotions that they were trying to convey through dance! Absolutely loved it! This whole event really brought all the moods of the holidays together: Warmth, love, romance, reverence, and joy!

On the Transmigration of Souls was as beautiful as it was unsettling an orchestral and choral compositions. It takes one to a dark place, so be prepared. The themes from the various movements Beethoven's Ninth were invigorating. I was amused seeing the frayed mallets of the timpani player at the end of the piece. The soloists were outstanding and the choral performance moving. An excellent finale to maestro Gomez's inaugural season.

Beethoven was wonderful. I am sure anyone and everyone enjoyed that performance. As for the piece before Beethoven well I thought it was awful. I was not the only one. The people sitting around us felt the same way we did. It was confusing, couldn't hear the names where we sat. It sounded like muffled voices. When the music got going it sounded like noise and not music. I did not like it at all.

I loved the performance of Beethoven's 9th Symphony. It is my favorite piece of music and it was magnificently performed Sunday afternoon. What's not to like about Beethoven's Ninth Symphony? This complex piece was well done by both the orchestra and chorus along with fine soloists. Timing was spot on, and the interpretation of the composer's score was classic. The TSO is a great orchestra.

Well done concert especially with the Philharmonic backing. The ladies voices were different but worked well together. However the emphasis on women, in anything, is getting tiresome to me. Because of some male stupidity, we are continuing to create a divide among people. Music is intended to bring us together, as one of the vocalists suggested. It is a universal language. Let us not ignore what brings us together, as the presented music demonstrated.

My wife and I anticipated the TSO Women Rock show a great deal. We had enjoyed the WHO and MOODY BLUES, but this performance didn't measure up. It wasn't the fault of the orchestra. They were superb as usual. The problem was the music selection and performers. The songs were a mysterious mix of semi-well known pieces with glaring omissions. Where was Me and Bobby McGee? And the singers, while talented and enthusiastic, were screamers. Some thought the louder you sang the better. Not always true. The sound board guy must have been deaf and the drummer thought it was HIS show. Tone it down. Your job is not to drown out a 45 piece orchestra. We left half way through the second act.

Tucson Symphony is great, but the program selection did not showcase the orchestra well. Bernstein's Trouble in Tahiti opera was sung, and the orchestra took a back seat. The program was extremely short, just an hour of music, 45 minutes was the opera segment, and not worth $70 for a ticket near the last row.

I've never been a big fan of Led Zeppelin but made the decision to attend this TSO concert with my 11-year old grandson in an effort to broaden both our musical perspectives as well as to introduce him to music of my children's generation. WOW!!! What a pleasant surprise and what a great time we had! The accompanying rock band musicians were extremely talented and were such a pleasure to see them "rock and roll". As for the TSO participation, they were their normal "wonderful". I so enjoy seeing and hearing the TSO perform and now, so does my grandson. All in all, it was a terrific concert and a wonderful musical experience. Also, the light show was well staged and gave "rock and roll" emphasize to the music itself.

The Music of Led Zeppelin was a great experience. The drummer, guitarist and electric violinist were incredible. We were expecting only a handful of songs to be sung and the rest be purely instrumental. This is my favorite classical piece, having performed it in a choir in 1969. The Tucson Symphony did an excellent job, especially the very important percussion section. The full choir was great. The Music Hall acoustics don't do justice to voices and it showed with the Baritone solo hard to hear while the Soprano could break glass with her voice. The boys choir did a fabulous job too. First time I have seen Peter and the Wolf in a live performance. The kids in the Tucson Regional Ballet were wonderful! And it looks like we have a real winner in our new conductor, Jose Luis Gomez! He really engaged the orchestra. Since the concert was about animals, he delighted the kids with some short opening numbers about other musical animals, e.g., The Swan from Carnival of the Animals, The Chicks from Pictures at an Exhibition, and a few others. Lupita Murillo did a spot-on job of narrating also. All in all, a wonderful concert for the family.

We were delighted with the selections, the humor and the visual beauty of the entire event. And of course, the music and choir were spectacular. The addition of the UA dance troupe was truly lovely. Thank you!

The orchestra drowned out the chorus. The dancers were off their marks.

The performance was "magical" and just right for the general public. Most songs were recognizable for those not fans of classical music. The chorus is excellent and the UA dance ensemble was a great addition. We go every year and will continue to go. On the negative side: it seemed a little pricey and photography was not allowed. Also the bar lines were very long during intermission.

The symphony was great. The venue staff was rude. The venue seating map should be on the ticketmaster app, very frustrating that it was not available.

My family and I really enjoyed this performance. I was worried my 8 year old son would be bored, but we were all constantly entertained by ballet dancers, and singers in addition to the symphony. It was truly a magical Christmas. We plan on going to this classy event every year.
