Some papers are saying this was the show of the year in Pitts and I would be hard pressed to argue that point. Like seeing two headliners in one show. Tedeschi / Trucks were outstanding. Could listen to Susan sing all night....she is that good live. Was a little concerned about the Crowes after seeing some of the set lists from earlier shows, but boy was I pleasantly surprised. It was like a greatest hits concert with all the favorites. Chris Robinson still puts on a show and gets his groove on. Two long sets by two great bands. A fun time was had by all.

This was an event we have relived in our minds over and over again. It was truly amazing. TTB was just fantastic - so tight. "Angel From Montgomery - Sugaree - Angel From Montgomery was overwhelming and incredible. The Black Crowes came out at full speed and kept the pedal down through out. Chris was ebullient and joyful but oh-so soulful and the band was energetic and energizing.

This was a dream come true. TBC & TTB are two of the best touring live bands of our generation & to see them on a double headlining bill is equivalent of your two favorite teams playing in the superbowl & both win. The sets were jammin, the crowd was vibing & the encore jam wth both bands on stage was an awesome highlight. Hope this is the beginning of a beautiful musical relationship.

To whoever was responsible for having these 2 bands tour together - my hat is off to you! I am a huge Black Crowes fan and had been wanting to see TTB and am I ever thankful I snagged seats to this show. Verizon is one of my fave venues too ... and I brought my son with me. This was a night to be remembered ... I fell in love with Tedeschi Trucks Band as I knew I would then to be blown out of the water by the Black Crowes, and topped off with a 2 song encore with BOTH bands - it just doesn't get any better. And people - the Crowes tore into Jumpin' Jack Flash and I would have to say it was as good as the Stones could ever do. (And yes - I've seen them do this live too!) What an awesome night with awesome musicians - if you EVER get the chance - go see both of these bands!

Of course TTB was amazing. Who doesn't love them? The Black Crowes played "She Talks To Angels"... which is one I was totally hoping for... and they did an amazing version of Jumpin' Jack Flash... But the end... when they brought Susan and Derek back out to play a couple of tunes with TBCs... Susan and Chris' voices really meshed well, and of course the musicianship was off the charts... Loved it, loved it, loved it!!!! These 2 bands together are perfect!

First time seeing Black Crowes and/or Tedeshi Trucks Band. What a combination! I thoroughly enjoyed the vibe they put off. I've been familiar with the Black Crowes for 20 years, but never really knew about Tedeschi Trucks. Trucks is just an amazing guitarist. And Tedeschi's voice is sublime.

I have been listening to the Black Crowes for 23 years and never had the opportunity to see them. It was so amazing!!! I had one of the best times!!! They had great opening acts also. Tedeschi Trucks Band rocked the house!!!! I will not miss them again if at all possible!!! Just wish they would have played She Talks to Angels!!!

Tedeschi-Trucks is simply terrific. Black Crowes just another 90s band. The billing should be reversed. We left after three of the Crowes mediocre songs, and would have enjoyed another 30-45 minutes of Tedeschi-Trucks if their performance had not been truncated by opening for a lesser talented, less enjoyable group.

Really enjoyed free parking and eating Italian at the cafe Fontanella before the show. Got there early and got out easy as pie after the show. Very convenient!! The amphitheater is incredible and the Tedeschi Trucks band took complete advantage of the beautiful sunset view behind the stage. The Crowes just took the crowd and by the end we were all shakin' our money makers!!

The Black Crowes put on a great show as usual, playing more of the popular songs from their catalog. Would liked to have heard a rarity or two. The TTB is a stellar group of musicians that has a diverse repertoire of songs that they play, with originals and covers included. Derek Trucks is the premiere guitar player in the world right now, IMO.

The show was absolutely amazing!!! Got there late because traffic was really bad. Two lane road on the way to the venue and a long driveway through Fontanel. But once we got in, the place was amazing. A concert in the middle of the woods basically. TTB put on a great show as usual. The Black Crowes were great!! I will definitely go to The Woods at FOntanel in Nashville Tn again. And i'm alreadyy planning my next Crowe show.

I really felt like the artists treated the crowd as if they were doing us a favor, playing whatever and however they wished. I'm not saying they need to take requests, but taking songs that are typically 4-5 minutes in length, and then running them for 12 or more minutes with senseless solo after solo...I really hope I don't ever have to see either of these bands again.

The Black Crowes still have a great sound and can rock when they choose but when you have sat through 95 degree temps for hours in the dirt you would expect that they would play at least some songs that made you spend $75 for that luxury. It never happened. The 14 song set contained only the hit Remedy. Nothing from Shake Your Money Maker their biggest commercially successful album. Instead it was ballad after ballad. If you are a forty something like me... and there were plenty of us there, your left feeling disappointed and ripped off. To me the value is in enjoying the classics with the new stuff sprinkled in and not the other way around. They are not great enough to pull the artist choice card on us and these classic bands need to remember why we buy tickets. I would not go to see them again. Three of the songs weren't even theirs.

Good show! Enjoyed the Velvet Underground cover of Oh Sweet Nuthin' as well as Otis Redding cover of Show Me with Tedeschi & Trucks playing and singing along! I still think they're much better indoors inside small venues that seat less than 2,000. Fontanel was an ok venue--not the best--not the worst.

This has to be one of my top all time concerts. All three bands were amazing including the opener, The London Souls, a 3-piece power trio that set the tone for the night with their own rocking music and some very nice covers. The 11-piece Tedeschi Trucks band will put you in the groove, they have it all, background singers, keys, horn section, dueling drummers. What else can you say about Susan and Derek except pure commitment to the music, no egos, all exceptional players, and that trumpet player is so infectious I'm not sure I have ever seen a player having more fun on-stage. Now we get to the Crowes, OMG! I'm one of the 50+ show folk and have seen all the incarnations. These guys are on fire, still the most rock n' roll Rock N'Roll band in the world. Rich was smiling all night so you know it has to be good if Rich is happy. He and Chris even had a coup[le litlle brotherly love shows of affection. Seriously, down in front looking up at that stage, mesmerized, feeling that this must be what it's like to be in the eye of the hurricane. Best show ever! Tightest band ever. For all the haters, Jackie is fully up to speed, music stand and all, and I love Adam! Thank You to Kathy for the 2nd row center seat.

The Black Crowes were incredible and I really enjoyed the Tedeschi Trucks Band even though I had never heard even one of their songs. Tedeschi Trucks is also a southern blues rock style band. The husband and wife team can really play, also they have a large band with a horn section which is nice.

Couldn't have been a better night for an outdoor concert, or, a better night to see The Black Crowes! I am so glad they are out of their hiatus, I had been wanting to see them for a long time and was glad to finally see them, they were excellent! Played for a good solid 2 hours, and while the setlist was good for the most part, I was surprised that they didn't play "Twice as Hard" or "Hard to Handle", but oh well, can't play everything... As for the openers.. I really enjoyed The London Souls, their set wasn't very long but it was a good one, I really like their sound! As for Tedeschi Trucks Band, well, I like Derek Trucks and enjoy the Derek Trucks Band, but Tedeschi Trucks is kinda not really my cup of tea.. They are all very talented musicians, and, Susan Tedeschi is very easy on the eyes, hehe.., but their music is just not really my style Overall, this was a great night of live music, and I recommend anyone to see The Black Crowes if you haven't yet, they are the perfect example of a good live rock show! Also, I just want to add how much I love the Mann Center 100,000+ times more than a certain other dirty, crowded, overpriced, impossible-to-park-at "Center" in Camden...

This is a great concert and anyone who likes Blues-Rock and/or Southern Fried Rock should go. Derek Trucks should be considered with the best guitarists in music history - right up there with Clapton, Hendrix and SRV. Susan Tedeschi's soulful voice sounds like she was genetically engineered with DNA from Janis Joplin and Bonnie Raitt. The Black Crowes are STILL kicking a$$ and a great show. For all of Chris Robinson's screaming vocals, he still sounds like he did when The Black Crowes came out 20 or so years ago.

This is what American rock and roll is supposed to be. These bands both play their original music extremely well and cover many vintage blues songs that sound seamless. When they combined for the encore, the place went crazy and the bands appeared to truly enjoy themselves together. They were so comfortable sharing the stage and intersecting the music and voices that I wished they would play a whole set like that.

I always wanted to see The Tedeschi Trucks Band and was not disappointed. Susan Tedeschi can belt out a blues tune like Janis Joplin and Derek Trucks takes a back seat to no one playing the electric guitar including Clapton. The group is much underrated! The Tedeschi Trucks band sounded great but I am not a fan of a long jam in the middle of every single song. That just got boring. That said, Susan sounds great and they are fine musicians. The Black Crowes were AMAZING. Chris Robinson sounds better than ever and they did 3 of their big hits in a way that you would not believe. These guys must be so tired of performing those songs, but you would never know it. (Jealous, Remedy and She Talks To Angels -- acoustic, which was poignant). Would see them again!

The bands were both great but the sound at Jones Beach was horrible. They had the PA cranked up so much that it was distorting the sound and physically painful to listen to. Tedeschi/ Trucks was very good. They had a good sound and really seemed to want to entertain the crowd. I could listen to Derek play all night. Obviously there was a different sound guy for the Crowes. Chris Robinson has an incredibly powerful voice but he was drowned out by the band and the backup singers. You couldn't hear him for crap and it ruined the whole show. Finally was OK but how could you not play Hard to Handle? Also kept shuffling guitarists but never introduced the band. I talked this concert up to my wife for months and was badly disappointed. Big Let down!

TTB is my favorite band. Period! Nice mix of old songs and new ones from their upcoming album/cd "Made Up Mind." All the performers had an opportunity to show off their virtuosity with solos during the performance. Of particular interest were Saunders Sermon's vocal on "Part of Me," and Susan' fiery playing on some old blues tune. Nice that "Angel from Montgomery/Sugaree" was part of the set and not an encore. Derek just gets better and better. His repetoire is beyond belief. The Sly and The Family Stone "Higher" medley with Chris Robinson from the Crowes joining in on backup vocals was the highlight of the performance. Loved the Black Crowes! Have always liked their music but had not seen a show in 20 years. Wasn't sure I would like the new lineup. They were on fire. Chris Robinson is a master showman and still has the chops. They blistered Remedy and Light My Candle. The three song encore with 14 members of both bands was pretty amazing. They brought the house down. This was our first trip to Red Hat Amphitheaterbut not our last. Great setting in downtown Raleigh.

Let's face it...the Black Crowes are fun. Just like they were in the '90s. But there's really nothing new there. Tired band. Tired songs. It was good to see Jackie Greene perform. And...they barely deserved to share the stage with the Tedeschi Trucks Band, an 11-member band with no weak spots. TTB offers more diverse musical selections, much better (as in, one can actually hear her sing) vocals, stellar guitar work, a horn section, killer bass player, keyboards to die for, two amazing drummers. I should have left after TTB's set. BTW, the opening act "The London Souls" was also terrific.

An astounding night of superb musicianship from the opening act to the encore of the Black Crowes and Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks. Tedeschi was good , Black Crowes could have been a lot better , they played mostly stuff that only hard core Crowes fans liked . The London Souls kicked some real butt ! What an amazing show. They played a bit over 2 hrs Wonderful song selection. The whole night just flowed smoothy. The final encore was with the Tedeschi / Trucks Band. They did the song "Hush Hush". Everyone on stage seemed so happy to be there. The crowd was grateful throughout the show. I went to see them in Burlington, VT on 8/17/2013 and the setlist varied greatly. Many songs off the first album and Sting Me from TSHAMC. Hope other attendees agree. Marc .

More of a jam band now. They played about 8 unknown or obscure songs before they got to a hit. Great band that feels they no longer need to play there hits the way they were recorded. Went to this event to mainly see Tedeschi Trucks Band. Have seen Derek Trucks twice before but not since being with Susan Tedeschi. Loved this band - perfect combination of vocals and guitar - the band are incredible musicians. Will definitely check them out again. As for The Black Crowes - was not expecting to enjoy them as much as I did! Their sound quality and band style is much different than the Tedeschi Trucks, but in a good way. Chris Robinson has taken care of his voice and I enjoyed this show immensely. Will try to see them again soon. One comment I did hear from another fan at the show was that she thought we were at a hippie concert - that of course made me laugh, as this was as far from a hippie concert as possible, in my opinion, but a good experience.

tedeschi trucks was great. Black Crows left something to be desired. Instrumentation in Trucks band was superb and the jams were great.

tedeschi/ trucks great as usual. Crowes same ol same ol. Tedeschi Trucks should have been the headliner as their style of music is new and unique, not the same old Humble Pie sound of the Black crowes. Beautiful night to be outside and lsten to some great music

Double bill was fantastic. Crowes were terrific with Jackie Greene. He was awsome along with the Crowes. Best Crowes show I have seen yet. Venue was terrific. Tedeschi Trucks blew me away.

Saw three shows in the past week, Scott Weiland, The Black Crowes, and Kid Rock. This was my favorite. Played great music, Chris's voice hasn't changed like so many others. Meadowbrrok was a cool place, never been there before. Crowes played Sister Luck and Thorn in my Pride which made for a good setlist on the last show on thier tour. I would go again.

Great show! I had never seen The Black Crowes before and was neutral about seeing them, but, they were very enjoyable as well. The Tedeschi Trucks Band was who I was going to see. What a great show!

Susan Tedeschi did not sing one song that made me fall in love with her despite her sounding great. Black Crowes sounded awesome but they sung She Talks to Angels so differently that I could not sing along. Just took the fun outta it for me...

Trucks was outstanging, solid band good performance. Derek Trucks is the reason to be there. Black Crowes, uninspired 70's style heavy rock. Would have preferred and second set from Trucks/Tedeshci.

The weather could not have been better, nor the entertainment. The bands complimented each other and although I had seen the Tedeski Trucks Band a number of times, it was our first Black Crowe concert and I must say I was impressed with some of the jams they did. Great show all around!

I'm not sure which band put on a better show, perhaps the finale with the combined powers (including the London Souls lead guitarist). Simply a great 4 hours of music.

Too much instrumental that sounded distorted on the sound system, too little vocals. Black Crowes played only 1 of their hits, probably because they ran out of time from the lengthy instrumentals in the songs. The encore with the other group was a mishmash of uncoordinated singing.

This was an amazing double bill! Tedeschi Trucks band would have been a great headliner had it not been for the Black Crowes. There was something very special about this night. I knew I didn't want to miss this show but having witnessed it I would have kicked my own ass for not going. A night to remember. Simply AWESOME show!

All three acts were terrific and full of energy, but Tedeschi Trucks are in a class by themselves. What a band! Derek Trucks may not be the best guitarist alive, but he's in the team picture and Susan's voice is unparalleled. The fact that both bands jammed together at the end was very cool as well. The Robinson brothers were worth the price of admission on their own too. Great show. Great venue.

All 3 bands were excellent and very enjoyable. The London Souls kicked it off right. Get to the show early to make sure you catch these guys. Tedeschi Trucks is definitely a headlining worthy band. Derek is as good as it gets on the slide and Susan has such soul. The supporting cast is exceptional. The Crowes are going back to their older catalog, and they made it sound fresh and powerful. The sound mix for all three bands was great!

Awesome place to see a show. It was a great show. The black Crowes were excellent. Always enjoy seeing them play. The crowd was friendly. They even saved my place in the front when I had leave. Great group of people at a great show.

The Black Crowes were just amazing. You never know what you are going to hear at their shows. Their setlist changes from night to night. Tonight at Holmdel the setlist was a dream setlist. Love the Crowes, so happy their back doing what they do best, Playing Rock and Roll!!!!

Overall it was a very good concert. The TTB has a new cd out, I believe, and are changing their style somewhat. They were playing very loud. Susan has a wonderful voice and it is a shame that she could not be heard above the volume. Highlights were 'midnight in harlem' and 'angel in montgomery'. I am not that familiar with the BC songs, but they are a great band.

Didn't catch the opening act as the show started at 5:30 pm on a Wednesday night and by the time we left work and hooked up in the parking lot, the opening band was on stage - out door amplitheater. It started raining so we got a beer inside. The rain stopped and the sun came out just as the Shielded-Trucks band started their set. Not too familiar with the band, but they definitely have a new fan now. They played their tails off. Excellent, excellent set. But then the Crowes came on, and in usual fashion, rocked the house. Not too much can be said other than if you like the band, then you would've liked this show. The sound was just about as perfect as you can get. If rain is the bummer about an outdoor stage, then the fantastic sound you get is the bonus. The set list was pretty typical of what they are playing on this leg of the tour, but they were tight. Very good show. I will probably catch them again next month before they head out west.

No Soul Stew type covers this time around. Added avant jazz flavors to the mix and a soft/loud song structure. London Souls were really interesting - Humble Pie/Free/Steppenwolf type 70's rock. Crowes didn't do much R&B.

This was the third time I have seen The Black Crowes live, and though the other two shows were great, I felt this one was the best. The band jammed out as they usually do, but Chris Robinson's vocals and stage presence was top notch. He has to be recognized as one ofwas the top 10 rock'n roll vocalists of all time, if not top 5. His vocal range during this show was enough to give goosebumps.

I've seen these two over the years many times By themselves( Susan Tedeschi just starting out in a snow storm at moondogs With Mike Lang and about 8 other people) with there own bands and the Allman Brothers band. They are one of my favorite bands. And although I think most came to see the Crows....Susan and Derek killed them. It was a masterful performance....with their large blues and soul band family setup It at times had the feel of the Allmans(Derek's slide work, i saw Duane and dereks as good or better along with Susan's trade of leads at times)throw in a dash of Otis Redding stax R&B,some jazz /fusion and Susan's amazing as always vocals they were amazing. For such a small woman such a large vocal since that first time at moondogs has always Left me in awe. She is one of today's finest vocalists and proved it in Cleveland a few years back at Janis Joplin tribute at rock n roll hall.....and with each time she opens her mouth to sing. The Crowes were the Crowes....all that old faces influence with their own 70s rock n roll style Left no one disappointed....do they ever It was great night Missed opening act...heard they were good Thought I heard some walking from parking lot With big bucco game it was a little messy But the rain cleared up and although someone nicked my good umbrella/ and my daughter not making it It was a great show Outside of Tedeschi and Trucks playing by themselves all night (Did either need the additional support act...although the tee shirt and poster were nice sixties Avalon/Fillmore feel) Can't wait for the Mule and Anders Osborne (don't miss him in traffic if there's a bucco game) Although Warren Haynes and the boys would have been plenty again. Remember last time allmans were here Tom Petty was with them....give me two/three hours of allmans, Govt Mule and Tedeschi and Trucks anyway
