Very disappointing and a waste of money. The whole setup was out of sorts. You had to walk back and forth to see all the displays. There was a lot of vacant space and areas. The main area was very dark, which is not a good setup for little kids and made taking pictures impossible. The walking dinosaur for the kids to "play" with had a broken neck and flopped over - ridiculous. The "other activities" were hidden and difficult to find - we never found the arts and crafts area. The biggest disappointment was the waste of money on the VIP ticket!!! This provided no "special" access. We had to pay extra for the photos and face painting, which were expensive also. There was no benefit to paying $32 for the wrist band - everyone was allowed everywhere. Many of the dinosaurs had to be worked on during the show as they stop working. Getting into the show was a joke - almost like a maze of walking back and forth to get into another line. The staff at the first door didn't even know how to read the tickets for VIP.

It was advertised to be for kids, however the exhibit itself really want good for little ones due to the amount of reading in really low light. The rides were decent but the wait lined we're long. Really want worth the money.

Overhyped. The only cool thing are the baby dinosaur puppets that the workers walk sround with. The kids' VIP tickets are too expensive. The kids' activities are bs. Just a bunch of bouncy houses, dinosaur ride and a gift shop. Not enough to justify $34.00. If only I could get a refund.

I am sure the boys enjoyed the day, but the event overall was not at all as described. It was more like a science fair exhibit with bouncy slides. The "real" dinosaurs was a joke. The VIP ticket should have included the green screen photo and face painting, especially considering, the fossil dig was a sand sweeping exercise, the live dino show was a person in costume, and the bounce slides and dino rides were not worth the lines we stood in. The boys even told me, they had more fun making the paper cut out dinosaur and fossil, then anything else. That is a shame, because for $34, I could have had them make a ton of those and stayed pool side.

Food was terrible and way over priced the dinosaurs were cool but not enough of them. It took like 25mins to see them all. The dinosaur rides Were like something at a Kmart back in the day. It would have been cool if they walked like the advertisement implied . They were out of the bigger pictures. The dinosaur dig was lame. You just brushed stone like bones and the kids couldn't really reach most of it. The lines for the bounce houses were ridiculous my kids want to leave after an hour. I would never do it again for 114 dollars + parking. I got there at 11 and a lot of people were already leaving. The so called VIP didn't get you much at all and if you didn't pay the 34$ for the VIP per kid they couldn't do anything but walk around. Wast of money

It wasn't what we though it would be. The venue looked like they didn't have enough displays to fill it. The dinosaur ride wasn't very exciting even for a three year old. You could see the legs of the person under the walking dinosaur. Son did like the bouncy houses but we could have gone elsewhere for that. Child couldn't really reach fossils to dig. The baby dinosaurs were probably the best part.

Better for the under 10 crowd. My younger 8 year old was more entertained my 10 year old was not. The $35 ticket is worth it. We didn't do any rides more than once because of the lines but we would've spent more if they didn't have the bracelets. The "rides" were 4-5 bounce houses, 5 stationary rides that look like something in front of a supermarket, 3 walking motorized rides that move at a snails pace. A walking dinosaur that was a person inside of a costume and you could clearly see her legs-leaves nothing to imagination. A place to dig for fossils, make your own fossil, see real fossils, a dark room in the front with animatronic exhibits with facts about the Dino's. Arts crafts table. The only thing if you wanted to pay extra was face painting and a picture of your family with a fun background.

Pictures on Facebook made this look like an amazing event for kids. The website said everything was included in the VIP kids ticket. We arrived to a giant room of exhibits which were neat, but sparse. Pictures online made it look like it would be over the top decorated. There was a walk through a bland hallway into the arena area where there were inflatable obstacle courses, slides, a fossil digging exhibit, ride on dinosaurs, a gift shop area, etc. We quickly found out that they didn't have enough room for the amount of people. You couldn't see a lot of the events (Baby Dinos, Walking Dinos). The lines were lengthy for everything. The ride on dinos had visible tears. The kids, although having had the VIP tickets bought for them to have unlimited access, did a few things once. It said online face painting was included in the VIP tickets, it wasn't. Nor was the photos they were offering with dino backgrounds. You had to buy tickets. A single ticket was $5! The kids enjoyed themselves, but it certainly was not worth the exorbitant ticket prices and fees we paid to be there. You live, you learn, and it was something different to do!

We had a lot of fun and my daughter had a lot of fun but the venue fees and the online fees and the processing fees... etc. Drove this up past comfortable afforadibiliy. Very busy but the people running things kinda keep things moving along, but once inside there were activities and events that required MORE money...

Terrible- exhibits were sparse and little information available. The lines for bouncy houses were huge and face painting wait was over two hours. We paid for VIP ticket and it made no difference at all, waste of money. Dinosaur "rides" are comparable to the motorized car rides you would find at the mall. Science experiments were just dirt in cups and the dinosaur dig wasn't refilled from other kids doing it. Awful. Don't waste your money.

This is an Overpriced, underwhelming event! While the large dinosaur display was pretty neat, we were unable to see the baby dino puppets as the crowd was several people deep. Lines for the rides were too long and they refused to let my one and a half year old (who was suppose to be free) play in the 2 and under bounce house without a ticket. We paid $40 for 2 adults and $68 for VIP tickets for our two other kids plus a bunch of fees...in total we spent about $147 for an event my kids (7, 4 and 16 mo) just did not really seem to enjoy. Would have rather spent the day at the beach! In all, we stayed for about 2 hours, the kids got on 3 rides and we left.

I bought 11 tickets and paid almost $350 with 90 being fees, was so disappointed in the event. took 2 hours to get there and nobody was impressed. I'm on a tight budget, and wanted to get the family together. such a total waste of money, 10 per ticket would of been more like it, but I still wouldn't of gone if I had known.

Not an interactive dino event, the walking dinos are people in costumes and they are so cheap and you can see their legs! Baby dinos are hand held puppets that kids see for like a minute. The dino rides were 45-1 hour wait and very boring and not exciting. Basically you pay to go on bounce houses. All people kept saying was how much of a rip off it was. Do not go!

My 8 yr old dinosaur obsessed son loved this. Glad we left his sisters at home. Really only for dinosaur fans.
The actual dinosaur displays were really cool! Not enough help! $100 for two adults and one child for admission. Green screen photo awesome idea! Unfortunately only one person to accommodate. We waited in that line for an hour and a half. Kids craft table was disorganized and empty, face painting a two hour wait! Each different venue that you wanted to attend outside of seeing the dinosaur displays cost extra money. The grilled cheese was $18! The staff was awesome, very kind and patient, it was a $200 day.
Glorified bounce house. Dinosaur display was cool. Took 20 minutes to see. Rest of time was spent waiting in ridiculous lines for 3 minute turns on the bounce house/rides. Dinosaur 'rides' were a joke. The little helicopters at the supermarket are more entertaining. Huge waste of money.
We went at the opening time to avoid crowds and to make sure my son could enjoy the new toddler areas. I could not have been more please. My son will not stop talking about it. Cant wait to go back!!
From a child's perspective it was really cool. The games and rides were ok. My child was bored after the first minute on the "walmart style horse ride". From an adult perspective it was not worth the price of the ticket, maybe adults pay half that price. It was mostly like any other " Great dinosaur show" that took all of 15 minutes to walk and then the adult portion was over. If you have kids that like dinosaurs and feel like blowing 40 bucks just for the adults then give it a shot otherwise save your money
It was cute but i have a 6 and 8 year old.. So things were more his age and younger. We got vip tickets yet they didn't even cover the things they wanted to do, they needed tickets bought on spot ($5 a ticket) for face painting etc. 2-4 tickets per event.
My 2.5 year old great-grandson loved it rode as many rides as he had patience to wait in line for lol, loved the dinos pure joy clapping and running to each exhibit to see them still talking about going back to see them. Was very sad for the one injured by the t-rex and is still "worring" about it. BUT we all enjoyed it and would see it again when back in our area.Only one suggestion more of the small riding dinos wat was very long for that age group.
Was very disappointed, we paid $93 for 3 tickets. As an adult I was fascinated by dinosaurs and thought for the price I would be wowed, definitely not worth the money! It was geared more towards 5-10 year olds. I understand that stuff like this is typically for kids but the price you pay as an adult there could have been more wow factor.
Great idea for a show.....Felt for what we got to see and do the lines were way to long... Got my grandson the VIP pass. Don't bother. Could have paid regular price and done the same things. To ride the big dinosaurs we stood in line for almost 2 hours. They would let each kid stay on the dinosaur for way to long. Put the kid up there and allow the parent a few seconds to snap and pic and move them along. This would eliminate the long lines. Stood in line for the bounce slide for almost 45 minutes. The girl running this would allow about 3 kids on it at a time. Put 10 kids on there and tell them 2 slides and move on. Overpriced for what you do. Wouldn't attend again at this price and the way it is run.

Jurassic quest could be a fun event, but there were so many people that we were unable to do much. We stood in line for over 30 minutes for my son to jump in a bouncy house for 2 minutes. Face paint was a 2 hour wait... everything we wanted to do had lines so long that we gave up and left. The shows were held on the floor, so if you weren t right up front you couldn t see a thing, my 8 year old got frustrated with that and was ready to leave. I didn t spend a dime in the alerus center because the lines were so long. There are probably better times of the day to go to something like this... but I won t be trying it again.

The kids loved it and had so much fun. But The lines for everything were way too long, they should have sessions with a limited amount of people allow for each session, we spent more time in line than anything else. The Jurassic staff that were checking people out at the merchandise store were standing around and had no urgency to check people out quickly when that was the longest line out of everything. Very frustrating.

My daughter (3.5) loves dinos so we knew we had to attend this event. 2 adults tickets plus a VIP for our kid put the total close to $100. There was a line for everything, and I feel the adult ticket is high considering we do not actively participate in any of the features. While our daughter loved the Baby Dino show, & the $15 walking Dino Balloon, we were just surprised at the total cost and the amount of waiting. The bounce houses had the lines, and then each group of kids was allowed 3 minutes of play. Not to mention the $7 parking required!

This was a complete rip off. We paid extra for the kids to be able to everything, but they couldn't. The lines were too long for the kids to sit on a dinosaur. 45 minute wait times for dinosaur rides. 2 hours just to have their faces painted. Too pricey. Completely over crowded. Not a place you can truly enjoy with your whole family because of how costly it is and crowded. We won't be going back.

It would have been a great experience, but it was very dark in there. There were signs telling you about the dinosaurs, but due to the darkness you could not read them. They had lights in the "pens", but the lights were placed behind the signs. No way you could read them. When we complained to the show manager, she said to go take the tour, they were not changing it. Ruined my experience and I was really looking forward to it.

I took my nieces out as a special treat to see the dinosaurs in Kansas City. The girls are two and seven years old and both thought the event was magical. I saw them smile and laugh a lot! The exhibit part itself was perfect! The kids loved it. They posed for photos and the seven-year-old read most of the signs to us about the dinos. The two-year-old liked pointing at all the small dinosaurs. One of the reasons I picked to go to this venue with the girls was because it was advertised as autism-friendly. The exhibit part was autism-friendly because it's dark, full of rich colors, immersive, and all the exhibits are set up so that you wait your turn to see the dinosaurs. You can take all the time you need to look at and see the beautiful art that is the dinos! The activities were separate from the exhibit by another room and I do not feel these were very autism-friendly. The lights were very bright and the open floor plan had no clear path. There were signs but if you are on the spectrum they sort of got lost in the sea of people and made navigation difficult. I did notice that staff members were positioned at all the exits so if a child got lost then they would be safe. I am grateful for the good security! The noise of people was extremely overwhelming in this area so bring some headphones to dampen the noise and maybe some sunglasses as well if you are autistic or similar. If you have an autistic or similar child with you then make sure you explain to them how each activity works and where to go. Make sure you mark each kid with information in case they get lost! It's overwhelming in there so they could become exhausted quickly. The shows that were available are amazing! Both kids loved these as well. I saw them laugh and giggle as they saw "Walking Dinosaurs" and "Baby Dinosaurs" all the staff were friendly and kind. The adults in the arena, however, were not as friendly or kind. Many adults actually body blocked our nieces on purpose and pushed them out of the way so they could not see the show. (The show was in a circle surrounded by a green fence where most of the kids were up front at the fence but adults wanted to be upfront as well) At one point I had to ask an adult to stop leaning on our baby stroller and to take their hands off the handles of the stroller. Another time I had to maneuver my older niece around a lady who came up and stood in front of our niece and leaned across the viewpoint and stayed there blocking the child's view. So... the lady was filming the dinosaurs and all my niece could see was a metal pillar. Thankfully, the children seemed oblivious to this sort of chaos and loved the show. The people doing the show were kind and even though the girls were in a difficult spot they came over and gave them attention. Lastly, the VIP band might be a good value if you don't want to tell a disappointed seven-year-old that you can't afford to do all the side activities. The two-year-old wanted a balloon but the line was over twenty people long and then we found out it was 15.00 for one single balloon. We could not afford that either and had to leave the line. The seven-year-old was disappointed the fossil dig activity was not more scientifically accurate and she really wanted to dig up her own fossil. We let her ride a dino to make up for it and she really loved it. In conclusion, the event was overall a success! The nieces loved it and for them it was magical but for an adult, the event was a bit more chaotic and pricy!

Seeing the Animatronic dinosaurs was pretty cool, but didn't take very long. It was crowded and not that much fun for all the standing in line. Probably worth it if you have a 3-5 year old who is dino CRAZY. But, my 7 year old would have been happy just to play on the inflatables the whole time, which you couldn't even do (3 times around, then get back in line). There's cheaper places to go for that sort of thing - where parents don't have to pay $20 each just to get in the door.

This is the second one we've attended and the kids were the PERFECT age (7 and 6). We went knowing that we would let the kids drive the activities for the day and everything went swimmingly. We really liked that the inflatables were spread among the other exhibits because that allowed one of us to take the older child to those while the other took the younger to the craft area. The baby dinosaurs are the absolute BEST part of this experience. But we also got a lot more out of the life-size displays this time than last time (2 years ago) because the kids had more patience to look and read the signs. My only complaint would be that the walking dinosaurs had very worn and tired costumes. My grand kids loved how they tried to come into the crowd and "attack"; in fact one of them moved so that she would be "in the line of fire". We look forward to doing this again.

Not sure if it was the available space at Hale arena or if they have expanded in general, but there was so much more to do than ones we have been to in the past. While expensive, well worth the money for everything they offer. I was surprised that the dinosaur display was not crowded at all, most people were in the other section with the rides & games. Line time wasn t too bad and there were so many options. Will definitely go again. The only negative was the smell in the game area as this is a livestock arena, not overly pungent, but noticeable.

It was definitely cool. My 4 year old loves Dino s so we thought this would be perfect but it cost us $100 just for 3 of us and it wasn t worth it. Also I m a nursing mom and it was really hard to find a place to nurse. There needed to be more places just to sit down. Benches would have really helped. And the moving dinosaurs were neat except the fact that you could see the person inside the Dino suits pants. They didn t cover their legs so that was kind of sucky.

This was a very fun and interesting event however most of the activities (all my child wanted to do) required a 15-20 minute wait in line for 1-2 minutes of ride/play. Many of the staff working the event gave kids very little instructions and seemed uninterested in working the event. Also, be prepared to pay extra money once there. Balloons are $15! Everyone has one so of course your kid wants one too. Face painting is not included in VIP ticket price so that cost extra and the wait was ridiculous - 2.5 hours at one point. The dino rides were lack luster and my 9 year old was not thrilled. Also the walking dinosaur is visibly a person in a suit - u can see human legs. So he wasn't interested in that either. Glad we went 1 time but we will not be back.

Arrived Mid-Day Saturday with wife & 2 Granddaughters 3 & 5 years old with VIP Ticket. Was well worth the Time & Money. Spent 5 hours there.
Fun was had by all. would give 5 stars accept as the disabled grandmother who rarely goes out because of MS, there were long lines. Praise to all who were willing to accommodate my need to cut into the front of lines. Only one man refused, shame on him. I saw no other power wheelchairs in the place yet he would not let my grandson "cut" in line so I could experience the joy of watching my 2 year old little man ride on a walking long neck! We went to face painting instead. One scary moment on the blow up slide when an older girl crashed into my grandson! Thank God he wasn't hurt!
Took my 4yo grandson to this event! He loves anything dealing with dinosaurs! From the moment we went in till we left, his eyes were bugged out and he just couldn't get enough! The event personnel were extremely friendly and helpful! If it comes back again we will not miss it!
We enjoyed ourselves, just thought it would be a little more going on then we seen. The dinosaurs were amazing I must say. Especially the baby dino. Very realistic.
I took my 5 year old (perfect age for this!). She sat on the T-Rex's, rode the baby dinosaurs, got her face painted, and jumped on the bounce houses. She liked the craft and enjoyed digging for fossils! It was worth the money. She enjoyed the exhibit as well. The only thing she was disappointed about was that we'd seen pictures of Triceratops that you could sit on/ride, and there were no Triceratops ride-on dinos in our location. Still worth it :)
It was great to see my kids eyes light up! There were great displays of dinosaurs. My kids loved running around naming them all! There were fun rides and artsy activities. 2 & r year old loved it! I think it's tough for kids that are about 3 yrs because there was a special bounce house for 2& under and then there were big bounce houses that the 3 year olds had a difficult time with.
My family of 4 went to JQ in Charleston this past weekend. We paid 126 for the tickets, 10 for parking. Everything there, from concessions to souvenirs, were way overpriced. You will spend 2 hours there total, and that is doing everything more than once. Pros: Some of it was in the A/C, people were friendly, dinos look very real Cons: Beside everything I stated above: we only saw a baby dino for 5 mins, all of the dino rides LITERALLY lasted 30 seconds, other rides were for small kids (4 and under) I really thought for the price it would be an all day event for us, but unfortunately it wasn't. I wouldn't waste my time or my money. Another couple I spoke with said they felt DUPED.
This was a great event for families. Very well organized and fun for all. The cost for entering the venue is $25.00 pp and all other activities are extra. Other than being especially expensive, it was a great day for my grandson.
My 4 year old whom has dinosaurs in the brain 24/7 even thought this was a very cheesy event. Not worth the money at all! Event was very over priced for what it was.

This was a great event for family. I recommend going early to avoid big crowds and lines.

If you can get a chance to see this, please do! My 2 and 3 year old spent all day walking through the exhibits roaring at dinosaurs and riding all the rides. It is worth the extra $14 to get the kids the VIP wristbands, it gave access to all the rides and activities. We are all still talking about in our household!

This event was highly anticipated by our 6 year old, he was so excited. For the 4 hours we spent there he did a total of 4 things. The lines were so long, we paid $75 to literally do 20 minutes of fun stuff. Either lower the ticket prices or sell less tickets. What a racket, and a colossal disappointment in family entertainment.

Went the first time around and it was great. We didn t have to wait in line for too long and we were able to do a lot of rides and activities. This time now that it was bigger we had to wait a lot longer and for little kids that s not easy on the parent or the kids. We had to wait around a half hour and sometime more so we didn't get to ride of many rides as the kids lost interest and didn't want to wait that long. Even for the gift shop you had to wait over a half hour to pay. This time it wasn t the greatest experience and it s expensive for not being able to do as much.

The event material and displays were awesome! but the organization and lack of workers made the whole experience extremely disappointing and frustrating!! First of all just getting admitted was a ridiculous joke of hours of lines because there were not enough people scanning tickets and handing out wrist bands. EVERY line for EVERY VIP event for the kids was SOOOO long it was stressful and this is not just because there were so many people but because there were not enough people working to keep it all moving forward efficiently. At the time we bought our tickets we should have had the option to purchase Photo and Face painting at the same time instead of having to stand in a long line AGAIN!! And ONE concession set up for ALL those people??? Ridiculous and frustrating. While I stood in the line with the 2 young grandchildren, my daughter went to her vehicle, drove to Culver's and was back with food by the time we got almost to the front of the line!!! The food choices were VERY limited if you DID make it to order and if you wanted JUST dipping dots you had to stand in the WHOLE line with everyone wanting a burger or whatever!!! It all just took SO much fun out of the whole event and unnecessarily fatigued the little kids and stressed the adults:(. Better organization and sufficient numbers of people would have made it a VERY awesome 5 star event!!!

My son is obsessed with dinosaurs, so we were very excited for this event. We were really disappointed though because the lines were incredibly long and the event was overcrowded. Any line for the rides and activities was an hour (or longer) wait. It is such a cool concept, but they really need to cap the numbers. Overall we would not recommend this event, unless you go during the late hours.

Not many dinosaurs to see and many of them were in subpar condition. The rides were weak. Perhaps best for children 4 and under - any child older than that would likely be bored.

My grand-daughter and I both loved it. Would go again. Lots of activities for every age. Grand daughter enjoyed the rides and the face painting. I enjoyed the exhibits.

I purchased my tickets the day before, we still had to stand in line for an hour (even standing outside for awhile). They had one door going in and out and even for the concession stand getting in line was in the same door. I bought VIP tickets for the kids and it was so busy the kids didn't even get to ride the dinosaurs. It advertised as twice as big and yes maybe but that wasn't the dinosaurs, they had more bouncy houses and a bigger store area that I remembered. The kids were so tired from standing in line for over an hour to go down the bouncy slide and waiting to get into Alerus to begin with. What a waste of money. (and yes I'd like mine back). I will not be returning to that event

Worst thing ever! The lines were unbelievably long it was ridiculous. To charge extra for rides that they couldn t even go on because the lines were too long! These are small children!!! Waiting in line for 3 hours for a 3 minute ride?!?!

So my kids loved the dinosaurs. However there was a long wait to get in and once in, it was a long wait to do the extras. To just walk around and look at the Dino s was fine. If you wanted to buy toys, ride the Dino s, do the dig, or caricature it was AT LEAST a 30 minute wait. Sorry not worth with it!! Either this event needs to limit the number of tickets sold or quadruple their extra set ups to allow for a low wait time.

Lots of waiting very crowded. Maybe would be better suited along with more rides/attractions! Kids lost interest quickly.

We were happy our almost 4 year old loved the dinosaurs at Jurassic Quest and they really looked cool! The only complaint I have is the price of the tickets (mainly the extra fees). It was $100+ for a 3 yr old and his 2 parents to go look at dinosaurs for a couple hours. Maybe we would ve been able to do more things if the line wait time wasn t an average of 10 min per ride/event. I think we would go again, but will buy our tickets at the counter to hopefully avoid some the of the Ticketmaster fees. We were happy we got to take him this year but will do a little more research about he best time and where the cheaper tickets are.

A little too crowded. Need better layout map, so you could find things faster. Great activies. After the wait, got too little time to enjoy.

They had a lot of things for the kids to do if you were willing to stand in line for 3 hours to do one thing. Very poorly organized. The kids where left very disappointed. The dinosaur exhibit was really nice and the kids enjoyed seeing the dinosaurs. It was all the very long lines that we had to stand in to enjoy the rest of the kids events that was very disappointing. The VIP tickets where a waste of money. I would not recommend this event

Our family really enjoyed the whole event the huge downside and why I didn t give it five stars were the lines we came at the time of event start and were fortunately were able to get in a few rides before the lines got so long we waited for 40 minutes for one activity the lines for the gift shop were terrible I waited 45 minutes to make a purchase. We purchased VIP tickets for the kids and it was well worth it for all the rides and activities they had available. Unfortunately the crowds were too big for us to get close enough to see the baby dinosaurs so that was a disappointment. We would have probably stayed longer if the waits were shorter it s too bad they don t sell a set amount of tickets for a certain time frame so more kids can enjoy more rides and activities. The barriers for ride lines were very narrow so we were not able to stand in line with a stroller with our older children. So if your taking kids alone keep that in mind. The exhibits were great and the staff even though the crowd was huge and I am sure were under stress were patient kind and friendly. We will Definitely go again but dread the crowd already.

It was fun but the wait times were rediculous. Everything that we tried to do was a min of 20 min wait. If my child wasnt so patient there would have been no way we could have done anything or had fun due to the lines

We arrived at 10:00 and ended up waiting in line for almost an hour to get in. We bought VIP passes for the kids, but the lines were so long at the rides and bouncy houses that we didn t use them. Wanted to get the kids face s painted, but had to go stand in line for 15 minutes to buy tickets, and then had to get on a waiting list for the face painting that was 2 hours long. Went to the toy area and my daughter wanted a stuffed animals. Stood in line for 30 minutes just to pay for it. Would not go back
