The show was great, as usual. If you havent seen it before you should probably hurry. These guys have been performing this so long, I dont know if they'll be doing it much more. It did seem to lack the energy it used to, either because they have done it so long or because they are just getting old. Its still fun tho, and I still recommend seeing it.

What a joy this was.. we laughed from the opening scene to the last. It was a wonderful break from the Holiday stress, a great date event, and so much fun. The Majestic was the perfect venue

A Tuna Christmas was a great two-man play, that was acted to perfection. The ONLY reason I did not give it five stars was because I believe that it would be better in a smaller venue. Other audience members that I spoke to who had seen other "Tunas" in smaller venues told me that they enjoyed the nuances of a more intiminte setting.

There were a couple of parts in this production that were laugh outloud funny - the two old ladies shooting the bird scene. Most of the show was just making fun of people with no education that make bad decisions and we see that in the Jack Ass movies. They're not funny there either - just sad. Like most of this show.

We have tryed to see A Tuna Christman every year that it plays in the area. We have maybe seen it 12 times. This was one of the best. The two actors were great. The set was minimalistic, which bothered me at first, but I got used to it as the play progressed.

The worst thing for a comedy to be is not funny. Perhaps the time has come and gone when two men dressing as female characters is mined for supposed hilarity, as is the idea of elderly southern Baptist characters saying "Goddam" or discreetly flipping off a passing vehicle. The "plot," such as it was, was thin, and seemed an attempt to mine the success of the earlier "Tuna" vehicle. The pacing was dreadful; slow and plodding, and the staging threadbare. A stage is that sparse is generally meant to draw attention to the characters, dialoge and plot, none of which were nearly as interesting or "colorful" as they needed to be (reciting Southern cliche after Southern cliche does not a colorful character make). All four in our party were disappointed. We attend live theatre on a regular basis and are season subscribers to two different theatre companies...this was quite a letdown.

Have seen the original and as usual, the original actors are hard to beat. Great young new actors. I would definitely see it again. Only issue I have with Little Hall is that there is NO BAR. I think people would have had a little more laugh after a drink or two.

I would recommend A Tuna Christmas to my friends. It was amazing how many characters there were in the play, but only two actors portrayed them all! How they changed clothes and costumes so quickly! They are very talented!

Where were the laughs? I understand this is a "period" piece, but the laughs were few and far between. References that should have been funny were left idle as everyone tried to remember why it should be funny now. Not a good way to go for a comedy show. The actors spoke very quickly, leaving some conversations garbled. Not sure if that was the sound system or the actors or both. I have seen many other good shows at the Majestic - this was not one of them.

The Tuna Christmas program itself was hilarious and extremely well done. `we laughed our heads off. Quite a few of the lines seemed updated and current, compared to several years ago. Seeing it repeated times never wears thin. We loved it and would go again to any of the shows. Our original seats, in the balcony, (which I mistakenly thought were in the mezanine area) were horrid and totally unacceptable. we ended up upgrading them and paid through the nose but had great 8th row seats, which were great.

The cast of Characters was as always up to being the funny group I grew up with in West Texas. Coming from a samll town in the Panhandle, it's almost like a family reunion when I got to the Tuna shows. Way too Good!

Not as funny as we had been told. I think we were sitting too far back, as we could not see their expressions on their faces, well, I think that is a big part in what would make you laugh. A couple times we could not understand what was said, and that wasn't funny; otherwise it was funny. The wardrobe was hilarious.

Redneck humor at its finest (?). Not nearly as funny as we had heard. The acting itself was very good but the characters got old after awhile. We actually left after the first act.

This was the 3rd time seeing Tuna Christmas and it was as good or better then the1st time I saw some years ago. It was my wife's 1st time seeing the show and she was surprised by how convincing each character was played to the point where you did not see the actors, but the characters. I tried to tell her how good it was before we went, but she had to see for herself and she loved it!!! Definitely another TUNA convert!! We will be looking forward to the next TUNA show that comes to San Antonio!!

What a disappointment and waste of money!! I should have researched the show better before buying tickets. Definitely not the family Christmas comedy show I had read and heard about. I certainly didn't expect the foul language which continued downhill as the show progressed. We left at intermission.

If you are a sensitive person, don't see this play. The subjects are not PC, and at times difficult to understand the subject. The actors speak with a heavy 'twang' which borders on a Redneck stereotype. A black couple seated a row over left after the KKK reference and seemed eager to leave. The laughter at some of the dialog pointed to how many of the audience truly thought, but will not speak as such in public. The play lacked a defined middle and end to the story they where trying to tell. Many of the paths they took where left empty and with no conclusion. I was not overly impressed with the actors themselves. At times they fell over their lines and did not provide a very clear adible clarity.

Who would think that two guys could pull off a multilayered comedy set in the backwoods town of "Tuna" Texas? They hit all the funny points, played each character with zeal, and had the audience wanting more. Funny on multiple levels. My teenaged daughters didn't quite get the humor and the audience was largely in their 40s and beyond. Highly recommended!

It seemed popular with those who had been to previous Tuna productions, who cheered softly when an an old, familiar character appeared...but it relied far too much on the characters oddities...long pauses...sighs....rushing other parts. The OKKK and Klan reference were offensive to my guest...a native Texan who was unfortunately on the hurting side of such people who were/are all too real.

I've seen Tuna Christmas about 11 years ago in a smaller and more intimate theater and thought it was funny then, but watching it at the Majestic in San Antonio was completely boring. We left 3/4 into the show....I don't think I laughed one time.....Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.....I wish, I could get my money back.

My wife and I decided to give our children a gift a family night at the theatre for the holidays to see A Tuna Christmas. The two of us had previously seen the trilogy of Tuna shows over twenty yeara ago and thought our children would love the characters from Tuna, TX. Needless, to say we were not disappointed. The characters remain as fresh today as they were over two decades ago. The kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves as they saw several of our family members amongst the characters particularly one DeeDee Snively. It was a wonderful night and one my family will cherish for a long time. They will, they will, they will.

A show that only has two actors depends a great deal on the stage sets, the costumes and the dialogue. These elements were present for this show. It made for an enjoyable evening.

This was my first time going to see "A Tuna Christmas". The experience was NOT what I expected. The crowd constantly projected and spoke about what was coming up (at least those that I was seated around). For those of us new to the play, this forecasting of the play was incredibly annoying and served as a distraction. The acting itself was fine but I found the accents too thick. I had trouble understanding what the actors were even saying. I suspect that due to this problem much of the humor was lost on me. As much as I tried I just didn't find it funny and so I left show at intermission.

Although the material and characters were excellent, the theatre (Majestic) was so hot that evening, we sadly had to leave at intermission. We saw others leave as well. Most people were fanning themselves with their Playbill. Very disappointing. We mentioned it on the way out and the ushers agreed it was their top complaint.

Don't know if they're getting a little long in the tooth or just a little tired, but "A Tuna Christmas" was not nearly as entertaining as "Tuna Does Vegas" from just a year ago. The character changes did not always happen smoothly or on que. Story line is funny and most of the characters were right on target. Not sure that I'd rush back to see this play anytime soon.

I expected a better performance by both actors. One carried his role out very nicely. The other was weak when left on the stage alone. We enjoyed play, and would see it again some time in the future. A Tuna Christmas was a fun play to go to while we stayed in Portland for a couple nights during Christmas break. This is the 2nd time I have seen this play. Again it was so much fun to watch these guys. The 2 were quite different from the 1st time I saw this years ago. But the acting was still top notched and drew you into their little world of Tuna Texas. It's always a good thing when you can get lots of laughs in, this was almost non-stop laughing for the whole play! The voices, costume changing and mannerisms of the individual characters were spot-on and really made you feel like there was another new character joining the progression of the Tuna community. This time we took our 2 boys, (21 and 24), and they loved it too. I wish I could remember even just a couple of the "1 liners" tonight. Very precious writing script.

It was crude, had foul language and they were cruel to animals! I took my nieces and nephews to it for our annual Christmas tradition to see a play. They hated it and wanted to leave at intermission, which we did! Don't get me wrong, I am not a prude and enjoy many forms of Art but I believe the reviews on this play are misleading, especially when they say "Good Family Fun"!

Overall I found the show to be enjoyable with the following caveats: 1. It was a little too long. The characters were amusing but the length detracted from the characters. They all had such strong "personalities" that a little went a long way. I feel that a shorter version would have been more comedically effective. 2. It is not...I repeat...not appropriate for children ages 8 and up. There is a lot of profanity (and I'm not a prude) for an eight year old to be subjected to. Some of the themes were adult-oriented, which I think went over my child's head, but nonetheless, not something I would like to purposely place in front of her. The 8 and up advertisement should be coupled with a little more disclaimer. 3. At some points I felt that the show crossed the line from parody to ridicule- that was probably due to the length. Anyway, the show was entertaining, don't take your kids and be prepared for a very long performance.

I have seen Greater Tuna, Tuna Christmas, and Red White and Tuna more than once. I was really looking forward to Tuna Christmas. My husband had never seen it. Saw the original 'Greater Tuna' in California over 15 years ago and never forgot it. Characters were different in this one, but the one liners and creativity were great fun. Vera Carp was an entirely different character -- I remember her as a church lady type with cat's eye glasses and a pillbox. This Vera was also great in a different way. The writers must have had a great time putting this together. Like the smaller venue which works well for this type of program.

I really wish I would have known just how vulgar and profane the language was going to be BEFORE I decided to take my 9, 10, 11 year old children. The phrase God D**n was used atleast five or six times BEFORE intermission. One of the guys grabbing his crotch insinuating what another character "could do" was enough to make us decide that we did not need to see the second half of the show. We left at intermission. A sequel always risks being compared to the origial. Tuna Texas was fall-down funny. This production--not so much. Several of the characters were loud and annoying, (the woman in the pink raincoat) but not funny. There were laughs, but they were few and far apart and not belly laughs. Pace was wayyyy to slow. The story cried out for humor. I always appreciate the efforts of cast and production. I wish these folks had better writing to work with.
