Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real

Lucas is so talented. Sounds just his dad, you can tell he loves his work. We were front row about 5-6 ft from him. He is a great entertainer along w/ his band Love his music & music style.

I discovered Lukas from Youtube so I started following him. When I found out he would be at The House of Blues, I could not wait to purchase tickets. He was everything I expected and much more. His music is so creative and his lyrics are beautiful and magical to the ear. I bought his CD while there and it has not been removed from my player since the concert. I am, as my husband is too, truly in love with his music. I also enjoy his passion he shows when singing. He made us feel part of the loop during the concert. I love that we have become "Realers" and will continue referring to myself in that way. Way to go Lukas! You have come into your own, although you do have a hint a your famous father in your voice at times. I will be making trips to Austin now to see you play in your hometown. Thanks to KERA for introducing us Lukas and the Promise of the Real. As we are not country fans and this is not a country band, it worked out perfectly. This is Americana with great guitars, driving rythms and classic Nelson style lyrics we can all relate to. Can't wait to see him again!

Wow! I am a loyal follower and fan head-over-heels in love with the shredder and most talented and entertaining doll, Lukas Nelson.

We saw Lukas at Bridge School singing with Eddie Vetter. We liked him so decided to get tickets to see him with the Promise of the Real in Tahoe at Harrahs. We were not disappointed. The concert was intimate. He just jammed with his bass player and drummer. He blew us away with his guitar skills. He is someone to keep your eyes on. He is going to be someone that will go down in history as an awesome musician. Rolling Stone top 100 guitar players will have his name on the list someday!

I was pleasantly surprised to discover Willie Nelson's son Lukas and his band. The guys delivered a high energy, fun, intimate show. He covered a lot of ground, from classic rock to World Music and the Blues, as well as his own material. He looked and sounded like he was hving a great time, and his energy was infectious. His voice sounds just like his father's. this guy is pure talent.

These guys played an amazing show. They did a great mix of blues/rock and really showed off their skills jamming out during several songs. Lukas sounds eerily similar to his father but plays the electric guitar as well as any I have seen. They played non stop for two and half hours and stuck around to sign autographs and shoot the breeze after the show. Bottom line, go catch these guys before the crowds and ticket prices strt skyrocketing!

I would classify this as a quality concert that had it's moments but with the wide range of musical styles performed by the very talented son of the Red-Headed Stranger I doubt that any attendee would say any different. I like a lot of different genres of rock music; folk rock is the one genre that is least likely to produce a song that I like. When LN was banging out a blues-heavy number with a lot of power I was enjoying myself. But with the next song would come a slower paced folksy number and the momentum would be lost. Anyone there would no-doubt attest to the song-writing ability, the born-n-bred guitar playing, the quality players on stage with him, etc. All the elements are there. But, for me, I would have liked a bit more of the rock at this rock concert. Revoltaire was fairly impressive. My son texted me during their performance, my reply: 'kinda Black Crows with a female singer' and I'll stand on that. Need some crowd banter.

I have heard how good Lukas is, but was still blown away by the performance. He truly has a love for the music and enjoys what he is doing. Almost three hours of high intensity music. I will be tracking his concerts and catch him whenever i can.

Lukas Nelson and POTR are just an amazing band! They're a mix of country and rock with a contagious sound that will keep you wanting more. Besides their own music, they did Jimmy Hendrix, Eddie Vedder, Willie Nelson, and other covers as well. Lukas gets the crowd involved in the show too. He plays an awesome guitar and even plays with his teeth! Part of the encore included an amazing Star Spangled Banner, reminiscent of Jimmy Hendrix. After the show, the entire band did a meet and greet with all fans who wanted to. They signed autographs, took pictures, and chatted with fans. These guys are incredibly humble and will definitely go far in their careers. I consider myself lucky to see these guys in such an intimate venue and when they do make it big, I can look back and say how I've met them and got autographs. This is a MUST SEE act!!!

the venue was nice because it was small , and the service was pretty good . what made the night great was seeing lukas nelson . he is a crazy good guitarist and showman , and i would recommend anyone see him if you get the chance .

Lukas Nelson feels it. The band has a really cool sound with the 2 percussionists, and not only do they really rock, but they can get down with some pretty nice grooves too. Lukas's singing and songwriting are awesome - I think he's here to stay.

The band is tight. The jams are riveting...and the songwriting takes you places....Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real is absolutely a must-see.

Lukas Nelson may just be one of the best guitarists on the scene today! This is a Must-See show! They destroyed the stage for over two hours and it was awesome!

Lukas has pure raw energy and knows how to play that guitar. Band sounds great - nice percussion and the bass player has it together too! Love their sound and they put on one hell of a show. Not many tickets were sold, am sure by the time they make it to town again, they will have made a name for themselves.

Lukas and his band were absolutely fantastic. His set was a great blend of his own compositions plus some great Hendrix, Neil Young covers. He is an incredible guitarist and I would highly recommend his concerts!

Lukas Nelson is perhaps the best young guitarist out there, With a mix of blues, rock, folk, and a splash of reggae, he mixes it all together in a high energy, brilliant show. You can hear the influences from Hendrix, Stevie Ray, Dylan and even a bit of dad, Willie. Get out and see this show if you have a chance. there is so much good music out there that you don't hear about and this absolutely should be heard.
