Christine and the Queens

Christine and the Queens

CHRISTINE AND THE QUEENS IN CONCERT:Christine and the Queens are already synthpop royalty in their native France, and it's only a matter of time before the rest of the world bows down. Androgynous project mastermind Héloïse Letissier is a visionary pop auteur in the vein of legends like David Bowie and Grace Jones, and her manifold talents – pitch-perfect singing, razor-sharp dancing, and boundary-pushing style – are on full display at the group's live shows. From the moment she takes the stage it's clear Letissier was born to perform, and the radiant energy she brings to the table is shared by her talented backing band and army of popping-and-locking backup dancers. Sleek, synth-soaked gems like "iT" and "Tilted" are punctuated by dazzling light shows and pulse-pounding choreography breaks, and through it all Letissier shines like a beacon, crackling with passion while she dances her heart out and casts her powerful voice over the crowd.

Yes...the USA is finally noticing Christine and the Queens! Heloise's song writing, singing and live performances are total satisfaction. I first heard her music while watching the end credits of the HBO series GIRLS (season 5). It caught my ears immediately. After the help of SoundHound & Google...I never looked back. What a talent! The Paradise Rock Club was a great backdrop for an intimate & personal concert. Her English is impeccable. She's at ease talking with the crowd. The dance moves were unique and choreographed well even on the smaller stage. The only suggestion I'd add - add some COLOR! Too much black - black shirts, black pants, black shoes, black instruments, black stage. Can't wait for her return to the States!

Heloise using Christine and the Queens to be daring is genius! She works that stage like no other. I'm so proud to have in the US. You can tell she enjoys what she does. She can't help but move to any music she likes. You couldnot go wrong with her! If you love to dance, be free, be anything you want...she is the way.

I really have no words to explain how fabulous her show was\\is. Love everything about her and I'm glad I don't know her personally other wise I'd easily fall for her and with my luck it would be one sided. but I can still pretend in my head and no not in a weird way lol.

Christine & the Queens throws a show like no other. I was entranced and tranfixed the whole time! I highly recommend to go see her live - even if you don't know her or her music, she has the ability to draw you in. She embodies the music through every single inch of her tiny body and takes you with her on a journey like no other. By the end of the evening I was in such an emotional high, I couldn't stop smiling :)

Bottom line, the show itself was great- exactly what I expected, having watched the full concerts on youtube many times before in preparation.. But I did have two complains that had NOTHING to do with Heloise's performance, the music, or her dancers. Before taking this seriously, though, keep in mind that I was an anomaly at this concert- I am a nearly 60 year old from suburban New Jersey (I know, "Really?") So first, not a fan of standing in a crowd for a full hour before the concert begins. Second, not a fan of the style of music of the opening act. But what's a Baby Boomer to do when he chooses to attend a concert basically attracting Millennials? All in all, still worth it!

She was fantasic... the small stage at Paradise was just the right place, keeping it really tight for her and the dancers It gave her the chance to get close to her fans, which she clearly enjoyed. The crowd were young and very loud. When it came to Tilted she gave us all what we wanted, a virtual copy of the famous version. If I had one small complaint, I would say that the white shoes she used (for instance on Jools) elsewhere showed off her moves better than the baby black velcro ones used in Boston.

Amazing performer, witty, talented, dancing and singing. Such a great voice. Some may shy away of her music because she dies sing in French, but she sang in English which didn't loose anything in translation. she is a must see, I hope she returns to Boston.

One of the best concerts I've seen in years. Christine and the Queens will make you dance, make you laugh, and then stop your heart with a beautiful ballad. Heloise (AKA "Christine") is an extraordinary singer and dancer. The lighting and choreography were brilliant and made the songs that much more memorable. I had only listened to her album a few times, but I loved every minute of the show, even the songs I didn't know so well. Also, she's hilarious! A warm, enthusiastic stage presence with some sharp dance moves and surprisingly powerful voice. If you like her music *at all* you will definitely want to check out her live show.

First saw her on Jools Holland. Then at 9:30 in DC. And now at Terminal 5. Each time it seems she's getting better. Can't wait for a second album. She's great on the airwaves and even better in person!

Up-and-coming Christine and the Queens put on a show worthy of entertainment veterans with their unique visuals, dance moves, story and style. Christine's (Heloise's) stage presence was engaging and charming with an honest, humble delight as she thanked us for coming to see her, as if she had asked us into her home. The music was an energetic and engaging, inspiring us all to dance in our places while the visuals kept our eyes glued to her, and her Queens acrobatics and funky dance moves. So glad we discovered her this past year. What a terrific show in NYC!
