Shinedown and Blue October were amazing, as we're Nothing More. Meg Myers and X Ambassadors were absolutely dreadful. I had a headache from their music. Overall it was an awesome show.

The concert was as great as expected, Papa roach always puts on a great show. I love them. The only part I dislike about some of the concerts at the pavilion now is that they leave the big lights on the lawn turned on during the concert. Would be more comfortable to watch the stage without a big light shining in your eyes....just sayin.

THE WEATHER WAS SO DAMN HOT EVEN AT 5:30PM. I LOVE THE BANDS... I HAVE SEEN BLUE OCTOBER A COUPLE TIMES BEFORE ALREADY AND THIS TIME IT WAS NOT HIS GREATEST PERFORMANCE. MEG RYANS IS BEAUTIFUL LADY BUT SHE DID NOT PLAY THE WAY I EXPECTED HER TO FOR BEING A FEMALE ARTIST. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR STAIN AND EVANECENCE TO COME BACK TO THE LINE UP.

I was only interested in one of the bands in the lineup - Blue October. They delivered they're usual, awesome performance. They should have been the headliners, but their set time was good enough. I have been to many live events - music and sports - and expect there to be fees and taxes upon purchase. I jumped at the opportunity for an awesome priced ticket at $9.45. Who can beat that for an event like this, right? I purchased two lawn tickets ($9.45 x 2 = $18.9); however, my total was more than double ($38.xx) after the taxes and fees were included. One could argue that it's still a great deal given the number of bands, etc., but it seems a little excessive when the fees and taxes account for for more than 50% of my total expense. Overall, the concert was great and The Pavillion did a good job as always.

AN ABSOLUTELY AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!! I NEVER BEEN TO THE CYNTHIA WOODS MITCHELL PAVILION AND I LOVED IT! SUCH A COOL VENUE TO GO TO. CANT WAIT FOR NEXT YEAR
I have never been a Chevelle fan, but I end up seeing them at multiple events throughout the year. Aranda, Trapt, and Hoobastank were the highlight of the concert for me. I had high hopes for AWOLNation, but their album was terribly misleading with "Sail," because the rest of the album was dreadful, and since they have only released the one album, that was all that they played. As far as I was concerned, at 8:00, I could have left that venue and been quite content.
the event was well organized. the bands were great. food and drinks were a little steep in price but overall the event was very memerable. i will definately be going next year.
Chevelle was amazing, as was Hoobastank Trapt. The first band was terrible. AWOLNATION was equally terrible. The prices of beer and food were ridiculously expensive. It was so hot that it was hard to enjoy it. No one can control the weather, but when you are that hot you are pretty much forced into buying the $11 beer. It's bank breaking to go and enjoy the show. It is what it is.
Trapt did well for an opening act playing to half hearted early crowd. Hoobastank totally lost the crowd and it seemed like they would never finish their set. They should have swapped places in the lineup with Trapt. I am not a fan of Awolnation, but they did get the crowd pumped up and into the show after the Hoobie massacre. Chevelle came in and ripped it up as usual and the crowd was electric. This show is worth the money for Chevelle alone.
I should have anticipated this, but I learned never to show up mid-afternoon on the lawn. The sun was blazing hot and miserable, and the first bands were alright. No one was allowed to bring in blankets to sit on. After the sun sank down, AWOLnation came on and did an amazing performance, followed by Chevelle who were also great. I do wish Chevelle focused on their best hits vs. their recent material, but other than that, it was a very good experience.
Chevelle played great songs and sounded heavy as hell. The lawn was completely packed and the crowd was into it. I sat in the covered section and had an awesome view of the stage. One of the best shows I've seen at the Pavillion.
94.5 the buzz always puts on amazing concerts with the bands they have play, and they are never dissappointing. The weenie roast was awesome, rock bands playing out hit songs and making you rock to every word and beat like you've heard it several times. The bands often play new music as well which is a taste of what to come. Hoobastank came out and played all their music from past to present and had me rocking out. straigh A-MAZING!
Great concert. Chevelle definitely did not disappoint. The pavilion is a great place because you can still see the stage pretty well, even from the farthest rows. The staff at concessions is always nice. The security is also great. There's always someone at the entrance of every section and there's police on horses outside ;D haha. Overall great show and great place.
I wished the headliner was AWOLNATION. That was the only group I wanted to see at the Bud Light Weenie Roast. If they were, I wanted them to play Knights of Shame and Jump on My Shoulders. However, hearing them play Sail and It's Not Your Fault was good enough. There was only one flaw in that I could barely understand at times what the lead singer would say when addressing the crowd. Oh well. Go AWOL!!
Prop's to 94.5 The Buzz, Bud Light, and the Staff at the Pavillion ! This is the 3rd Bud Light Weenie Roast I've been to and they all have been fantastic ! I walked around quite a bit and it sounded fine from wherever I was sitting or standing. I always think the beer should be cheaper but......
I love the Buzz so any concert that they throw I am there but this one was a real hit because of the line up. I went to see Chevelle one of my favorite bands but AwolNation really put on a great show. I was shocked they were that good live. Needless to say Chevelle killed it.. A few days later and I still have bruises from being thrown around in the mosh pit. It was hot as hell but worth every minute of it. Can't wait till next year!
The entire event was awesome!!! Love 94.5 the buzz!!!!!!!

Thourghly enjoyed this event. Crossfade sounded very good, next Red was incredible, POD was entertaining. No for the bad - I have seen Puddle of Mudd 3 times now and I have NEVER been impressed with them live. I LOVE their music but their live performances are goob, but not up to par with the other acts on the bill. The audio seems off, low, not as flowing. Moving on - Buckcherry absolutely KILLED it and then Papa Roach finished the night off with a very memorable set. Great show and it was worth the 106 degree temps to enjoy this festivel.

The day started with a guy that was the American master of carving ice who shaved away at some blocked of ice with various chainsaws/tools to create a land bird of some sort out of the ice. Professor butters or something...he was pretty cool (literally) because it was hot as all get out and his entourage kept spraying water on us and throwing the shaved ice...Nothing More was on stage while all that was going on but I had little interest in checking them out...got to the main stage and met up with someone there when X Ambassadors came on...they have that one song "renegade(s)" that plays on that car commercial...outside of that, none of the music was recognizable and they were pretty much a snooze fest..typical maroon 5 type music that 94.5 the buzz likes to play from time to time and pass it off as "alternative" but is really just adult contemporary pop that belongs on a mix station at best...THEN everything changed for the better! My eyes were introduced to a beautiful female singer by the name of MEG MYERS!!! Her band and her put on an awesome show and she gained quite a few new fans I would have to believe with her performance that day. After her was Blue October who put on a really amazing show that I was not expecting. I was fairly lukewarm on them prior to their set. I liked the singles and they are hometown boys....their set and the lead singer's lyrics tugged at my heart...very good artists and they may possibly have gained a fan for life. Shinedown I was seeing for the umpteenth time and as usual, they were amazing!

Truth be told, this event could have been amazing, but this is the third time in recent memory that the Woodlands Pavilion has managed to have the speakers in the lawn drop in and out during the main act. There were so many moments where Shinedown was just killing it on stage, but the lawn could barely hear it, but then when the soft verse comes in the speakers come back on and it's 3 times as loud. This has been a constant problem there since the hurricane that damaged it, and I've pretty much given up at this point. I will likely never go back and will recommend people away from it until i hear that they have solved this problem. On a separate note, Blue October was just incredible.

Shinedown is becoming stronger and stronger in their live shows. Brent S. he's a heck of a Frontman, while the rest of the guys are more into the band every day. They made the audience participate as I never saw them participate. I hope they return to Houston very soon with their new album.

I had a great time at the Weenie Roast, tickets were cheap and the bands were awesome. There were some sound issues for the first 2 songs X Ambassadors played but other than that I thought they were great, cant wait to see them play a full set. Shinedown was as always Awesome. It was hot but it's July in Texas so other than that, great time.
The two major acts at this show were Blue October and Shinedown. I'm not a fan of Blue, but I've been following Shinedown for about a decade, and this marks my third Shinedown concert (my wife's forth). All around, I was super disappointed with this show. The sounds quality was awful. We were in the lawn, dead center, near the front (pretty solid view, actually). I've stood out there before (Disturbed, A7X, Iron Maiden, Dream Theater, a few others), and it normally sounds just fine. For this show, I couldn't hear the guitar at all, just bass, drums, and vocals. Next was the poor set list. This show pandered hard to the slow radio singles and ballads. They played for a solid hour and a half, but from their hard rock repertoire, only played Enemies, Devour, and Diamond Eyes. Nowhere Kids, Cyanide Sweet tooth, Adrenaline, Bully, and other similar songs where absent. My final gripe is the dependency on Simple Kind of Man. I have a big issue with industry leading acts leaning on covers, rather than on their own expansive library. The crowd was easily the most existed for that Lynard Skynard song, which just emphasized the need to reconsider the set list.
The three above bands were AMAZING! Meg Myers was a disappointment, shouldn't have been in the lineup, but hey, great show regardless. Rock on!!!!!!!!!!
I got there shortly after Trapt ended. Which I wish wasnt so. Heard Hoobastank, Awolnation, and Chevelle. PA system is terrible there.. I dont know why some concerts sound good and others dont @ the woodlands pavilion. All bands played their music live so I did hear some folks that were expecting a live album version.. I enjoyed the differentiation in tones that Chevelle took with their songs and had a blast in the mosh pit! For the price of the lawn tickets, it was a show you just could not pass up! I'll always support Chevelle in Houston!
All of the bands were so great and Chevelle was the best I had ever seen them! The only downer was it was freaking hot but it was to be expected in a pavillion and Aranda didn't have a long enough set unfortunately.
I haven't been to a concert in a long time. First Weenie Roast Concert and it was great! Aranda - I haven't heard of them before I got to the concert. Definitely got their cd after the show. They're good! Trapt - Hands down. Love Trapt!! Hoobastank - They're good. Awolnation - I LOVE THEM. AWOLNATION! You must see them live! Chevelle - They are amazing. PERIOD.
AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!!!!!! it was SO nice seeing a few of my favorite bands from when I was growing up! perfect venue for the event, it was top notch! LOVED IT! can't wait for next year!
The thing preventing this concert from not being great was actually not the bands, it was the crowd. I was impressed with the performances in general, but the crowd was just not into it for some reason. Maybe the heat sucked out the energy, but either way it was frustrating. It's hard to get into a show when it seems like so many people are sitting with a blank stare on their face. This is a rock show folks! Now is the time to let loose! Aranda, kind of what I expected I thought Trapt was excellent, and better than Hoobastank Hoobastank put on a good performance, but their music is a little boring in all honesty Awolnation was a surprise for me. I was not a fan of theirs before this show, but I thought they did a really good job, and clearly their music lends itself much more to live performances than it does to radio Chevelle did not dissapoint, although I thought the sound could have been better. Also, the fact that they could only play for an hour and 15 minutes sucked.
Chevelle made the entire Weenie Roast of 2012.....Awolnation the singer sounded crappy. For not knowing a lot of Hubastank's music they were pretty good. Hope I spelled the band name correct if not forgive me.
Amazing show!!!!!!!!!!!! GREAT BANDS, Awolnation was the whole reason I wanted to go, but I had a blast listneting to the other bands too. Can't wait for next year's. I will most deff be buying tickets from now on.
I have seen several shows at the pavilion, and usually they have great sound, however this was not the case for the Weenie Roast. I had to sit through a few moderate shows like Trapt and Hoobastank, and AWOL Nation is probably the worst band I have ever heard or seen, but then Chevelle came out and rocked the stage. I can only say that they were amazing, no issues with their performance. As an Audio Production student I must say that the sound at the pavilion was way off. The only thing that came through the speakers was the kick drum. The overhead mics for the drum kits were missing, the bass had little to no feed, and the guitar was barely present. The vocals came through pretty well, but a kick drum and and vocals don't make a song and it actually caused every band to sound like they were off beat. Overall I was happy because Chevelle kicked ass, but the sound had a lot of room for improvement.
Don't know that you can get much better for the price and to see incredible bands like Awolnation and Chevelle. I'd go again, even if it is hotter than hell out there. I will just make sure to buy seats, the lawn was crazy full.
Overall the concert was excellent. I have been wanting to see Trapt and Hoobastank for a long time and loved their music. However, on the down side for us, I am not sure that having AWOL Nation for the opener to Chevelle was the best choice. They don't have a lot of main stream music out and it got boring listening to songs that we had no clue about. A lot of people sat through their set not really knowing a lot about them. Maybe push them down a little further and let the more mainstream bands ramp the concert up.
Arrived just in time to see Aranda perform. Trapt, Hoobastank, AWOL Nation, and Chevelle all put on an amazing show!! Had a great time and a fantastic Birthday at Weenie Roast 2012!!
The last weenie roast was a lot better. The sound at this event was terrible and everyone new it. I spoke with several people at the show who agreed. Chevelle was scheduled to play until 11 pm but by 10:15 most of the crowd on the lawn had gone home. The bands were performing well, the sound levels were just horrible. I've been to several buzzfests and all weenie roasts, but this one was a big let down.... I left early. Maybe next year?
Beside the extreme heat; the concert was awesome.... Great Price for the bands that were playing..... Can't wait to attend the next Weenie Roast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Chevelle, Trapt, and Hoobastank rocked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was really impressed with Lost Element and AWOLNation. I am not a big fan of Chevelle in concert but they did a great job also. Overall, it was a great concert.
Great show at a great venue. Chevelle and AWOL Nation were awesome and Hoobastank was good but didn't play the tunes we all love??? Trapt was tight and delivered a great intro!
Awesome concert. Super hot outside. Budlight provider big ice buckets with scantley clad girls dumping budlight bandanas in the cold water to keep you cool. Side stage was very close. The side stage band, Lost Element, was really good.
Was really disapointed. Expcected alot better show. CHEVELLE was the only bad worth even seeing. Will second guess next years show. Also tye lawn speakers were not even turned on making for a better chance of talking to your friends or even listing to the group beside you talk.
They bands were great, the only thing is, having an outdoor festival at the end of july is not really a good choice, it was so hot that it was unbearable. Usually, in this situation they would have misting tent set up or some way to cool people off so they don't get heat exhaustion and they didn't. I won't ever attend another festival type show in the middle of the summer.
