This is a man I have waited years to see and he was terrific. At 92 he is a marvel and still has a strong voice with incredible energy. The whole audience was incredibly happy to be there. He has fans of every age and it was the treat of my life. I regularly attend performances all year long and this was my favorite. Loved him! The audience was so happy to be there. People will be raving about his performance for years to come. What a treasure he is!

We love him ... only thing, it was hard to understand what he was singing, maybe the sound was bad or he is simply getting old. We understood perfectly his granddaughter when she did sing a duo with him.

Excellent performance, lesson of simplicity, no need for countless background danseurs or artificial effects. I guess that's how a real singer performs, with talent and a voice!

It has been a week since I had the pleasure and privilege to see legendary Charles Aznavour at the beautiful Greek Theater in Los Angeles, California. I first attended an Aznavour performance in 1968 at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco, California. I also had the opportunity to meet him. Mr. Aznavour was very gracious to me. This experience was a profound and memorable one for a 17 year old. Seeing him again after 46 years I was thrilled and nostalgic at the same time. When he took the stage, I teared as I remembered when I first saw him. As the evening progressed, Mr. Aznavour's voice and stage movements grew stronger and the years began to peel away from him. Charles Aznavour is an iconic performer - a consummate entertainer. With a wave of his hand, nod of his head or a lift of an eyebrow, Aznavour invited me and the audience to experience once again his musical prowess. I feel blessed to once again be in his audience!

Hello ! I am French from Paris I like very much Charles Aznavour and this was the third time that I assisted to his concert its amazing at his age he still the same. The last time I saw him it was in Palais des congress in Paris 2004 and comparing the number of the orchestral team was over 50 persons here in greek theatre I was a litle desapointed by the orchestral team ( only ten persons).

Charles Aznavour is the most amazing entertainer. He was funny, had a terriffic voice, wonderful music, and even coped well with the man climbing on stage. He just stated he would have to start again. It is amazing that he is so agile at 90. Thank you Mr. Aznavour for a wonderful Saturday night and a lifetime of music.

I love Charles Zanavour's songs. As I grew up, I listened to his French songs over and over. But the concert was a bit disappointing. I would have loved to hear Mr. Aznavour sing more in French than in English. I understand he came to Hollywood, CA and he is trying to cater to the American people. The reason we love Charles Aznavour is because of his FRENCH songs and not some French songs translated to English

I didn't know what to expect, having seen Charles four previous times in concert. His being 90 years old, I was amazed at how great he still is. He still has all his moves and still sounds great. I was really glad we got to see him again. Everything was fantastic, the band, back up singers, and staging.

He started off smart - immediately addressing the elephant in the room. Could a 90 year old man still perform? He walked out swiftly and confidently and chose a song that demonstrated his ability. Yes, there were a few glitches, some flat notes, but that was nothing compared to the quality of his voice. Can it still be so smooth and strong? Perhaps not in every song, but so much more than anyone could expect. He chose his biggest hits and most of my favorites; for the rest, I have dozens of his CDs. What a fabulous special evening.

The voice is less powerful of course at age 90 and we mostly went to see the legend. He is still unbelievably fit and even dances on stage. The problem is that half of the songs are in English and diction at this age plus his accent are not good enough to make them understood. Most people were francophones and wanted him to sing in French only. We were sitting behind rude and big people who refused to switch seats. So we almost couldn't see the stage on top of the average quality of performance. I even played a game on my phone...

Although for his age he did a magnificent job, the concert was not worth the amount of money we paid. By the time we had purchased tickets, dinner onsite, drinks and parking, we had spent $500 at the Greek to hear someone struggling to sing.

Brought back such fond memories... Charles sounds amazing at 88, was moved by how open & honest he was. Wish he would sing more of his French songs, the English translation just doesn't sound as beautiful. He was so courteous to say in English what the french song was about. Just loved the whole experience, especially since I shared it w/ good friends. Could not believe I was there after all these years... Wish Charles a long & healthy life, his songs will live on...

His voice was a little weaker at the beginning but grew during the performance. His energy exploded on the stage--and was inspiring to anyone in their 70s or 80s. He danced, talked and it was a memorable evening. He was on stage for a solid 2 hours with no break--amazing! The only negative was the shabby Gibson Amphitheater which is in bad need of refurbishing.

I was so excited to finally have the chance to see Charles in Concert, I had thought I would never get to see him live, as when I bought tickets to see him in Paris, He had canceled the show in 2004. So he finally came to NY in 2009 ! I was floored, we had front row tickets and I was mesmerized. What a legend. No one should miss him in concert, his music transcends all languages. No one can write songs the way he does and no one can sing his songs the way he does. I just am so happy that I will see him again in 2012, back in NYC! Thanks Charles for your career and your music, you touch so many lives and inspire endlessly.

Here is what I wrote on my Facebook page: OK, I know some of you are anxious to hear, HOW DID CHARLES AZNAVOUR DO LAST NIGHT AT THE MADISON SQUARE GARDEN THEATER? Well, for a 92 year old without an ounce of fat on his body, and in full command of all of his faculties, absolutely terrific!! From time to time the voice wavered a bit, but think of this. He performed for one hour 50 minutes without a pause, without an intermission, in English, French, and Spanish (he is also fluent in Italian and Russian), with verve, enthusiasm, with a spring in his step, with only one sip of water, and only a few times sitting down. There are 5,500 seats in the theater, and to my eyes, not a one was empty. NOT ONE. And a crowd of all ages, absolutely enthralled. This was a carefully produced presentation, by the way. Mr. Aznavour brought with him a brilliant back up team of six musicians and two back up singers (one of whom is a daughter) from France who understood his music in their souls. And what a body of work it is. He told us over 1,400 songs! There were many he performed that we had never heard before. All beautiful. There were, of course, some old favorites too. Here is one that always brings the house down. The video below is from 1991. Trust me, it was as powerful last night. (And for you folks in Los Angeles, he will be at the Pantages Theater October 28!!)

At 92, Charles Aznavour displays the raw honesty of new performer. He knows he may not perform the same everyday and he may not remember all the lyrics to his songs, but he will put 110 percent into every performance.

At times unbelievable good. Which 92 years old person sings that well remembering all the words, and acting their meaning? At other times uninspired (reading English from teleprompter) and being twice as fast as the orchestra with a cracking voice. It would have been better to keep my good recollection of the concert a few years ago in Paris.

Saw his concert a few years back at City Center and considered it the best concert I'd ever been to bar none. Hesitated buying tickets this time because I didn't want to ruin the great memory I had. So very glad my husband changed my mind! For one, not-so-young, gentleman, Aznavour puts on a terrific show...a great stage presence. His voice faltered ever so slightly during one of the first songs, but got stronger as the show went on. It is so lovely to listen to. The variety of languages and music styles plus his rapport with the audience make for a very entertaining evening. Bravo, Charles! et merci!!

Aznavour was a delight in New York, as he has been since 1948. The audience was so excited to see him that they forgot all their manners. Running commentary from the folks behind me. And the folks ahead -- a his and hers demonstration of iPhone recording, for which they were unprepared. Lights and flashes and bright, bright screens. The usher who came to manage a seating problem beside us -- well, let's say that his management of a seating problem in mid-concert was loud and long. Next time I'll spring for orchestra seats. My bad. I do prefer Avery Fisher Hall. Next time, I'll spring for orchest

What a great show! He sang so many of his greatest hits. His stories were fantastic and humorous as well. Only one very surprising part of the concert was that he did no encore or sing one of his most popular songs (Emmenez-moi). The crowd was chanting for this song as well! This would be like Sinatra not singing 'My Way', in my opinion. Other than that, it was great to see this wonderful international legend in concert!

Charles Aznavour was amazing. Charles engaged the audience as soon as he came on the stage. He made some practical jokes too. The man sang for two hours without interruption. He sang in English, French and Spanish. He sang all my favorites: Yesterday when I was Young (in English) La Boheme *(in French & of course tossed his handkerchief into the audience) and he opened with "She" The audience was clapping and shouting Bravo!! all the time. He is a force of nature & his energy is contagious. I loved the duo with Katia & every song in any language he sung in (eng, french, italian, spanish) even if I prefer French because this is the language he composed them in & the language I learned them all in as a kid. I was not a fan of the lights effects which sometimes were directed at & blinding the audience. His voice has definitely changed (less force) & his focus oriented toward aging & nostalgia. But his performance was fantastic. I liked that he did not even bothered to translate from French the words he forgot the English translation for when he was explaining things.

Absolutely a most amazing and dynamic performance. Charles Aznavour's voice was the voice of him as a young man: powerful, dynamic, evocative and moving. He sang for two hours and never left the stage, alternating from French, to English, to Italian to Spanish. He was moving, emotionally touching, and mesmerizing. His more than ten member ensemble, including a classical pianist, a fabulous drummer, three great singers, bassist and guitarist, was the best. And the staging, lights, ability to transform the stage from cabaret, to night sky, to flamenco oranges, to steely desolate staging was also fabulous. Each song Azanour sang had a different stage effect. It was more than a Five Star performance. It was a once-in-a-lifetime production with a man who voice reached deep into seventy years of memories and carried us with him into love, loneliness, joy and hope. Simply marvelous! Simply amazing! Simply Azanour!

Despite being 92, he performed for nearly two hours without a break or even a sip of water! His voice is still quite good, and he also dances. He sang in French, English, Spanish and Italian. I only wish certain songs, such as Hier encore, would have been sung in French. Bravo to him!

This show had so much emotion and power. It was the kind of show that provoked tears, joy and laughter all at the same time. This 92 years young eminence sang for an entire 120 minutes, opened and closed his own show, danced and entertained beyond. The energy of this man on stage, just left us all reflecting how a real life is one lived doing what you love. absolutely amazing!

Aznavour is unbelievable! It is hard to believe this man is 92 and able to stand for hours while singing song after song, and remembering these songs in different languages. The voice is not the same, but his music is much more than a voice. My mother introduced me to his music during my teens, and I've loved him ever since.

At the beginning of the concert , Mr. Aznavour told the audience his age (92 years old) and he apologized in advance during his performance that he may miss or forget some lyrics. His performance has exceeded my expectation.A person is blessed to live to see so many changes in the world.

It is incredible that at 92 this man still has all the passion and energy that he did 30 years ago. Imagine he goes straight through - no intermissio and one song right after another. What a performer! His songs are so vivid you feel that you know who he is writing about. I was thrilled that I got to see him once more time. He is a one of a kind!!!

He's amazing, that's crazy to be on stage at 92 years old! Congrats for that. But to be honest, maybe it's time for him to get some rest. Plus, during the show, the light was a disaster. Pointed right on our eyes! We definitely expected something more.
